Transcript
00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning which is
00:03chilly bright for some but there are some showers lurking out there as well
00:08let me just first of all take you through the bigger picture we have slow
00:11moving areas of low pressure close by and what that means through today
00:16eventually it will deliver more cloud and outbreaks of rain into Thursday
00:20morning as it tracks eastwards and then the air remains relatively chilly with
00:25that low pressure sitting towards the west of the UK winds will be light into
00:30Thursday night so watch out for some fog and then all change yet again that
00:34weather still coming in from the Atlantic now if you're stepping out first thing
00:39this morning watch out for showery bursts of rain which will be heavy across
00:42Western Scotland this is a band of rain which has cleared Northern Ireland
00:47through the early hours and extends down across the Isle of Man Irish Sea coast down
00:54towards the west country clearer skies further east a bit of a chilly start
00:57some pockets of frost here but some a brighter weather once the Sun rises but
01:01notice some showers also across the south and southeast coast of England and those
01:06showers affecting the north coast of Cornwall as well as Devon and Somerset so
01:11let's pick up on that band of showery rain through the early hours pushing
01:15ever eastwards further showers will follow across the west of Scotland merging to
01:20form longer spells of rain a strong wind here brighter skies though and some
01:24sunshine for the bulk of England and Wales and once these showers clear
01:27southern Scotland and northern England you should see some drier weather a
01:31legacy of cloud though Northern Ireland then clouds over through the
01:35afternoon ahead of this next band of cloud and rain but for most it's a dry end to
01:41the day just those scattered showers and then temperatures around average yet
01:46again for this time of year 7 to 11 degrees Celsius however through this
01:50evening Northern Ireland will see the first of the rain still those showers
01:54across Wales the south coast of England even extending towards East Anglia for a
01:59time Isle of Man seeing a few northwest Wales but notice the rain just pushing in
02:05across the western side of Northern Ireland what are two showers across southern
02:09Scotland the highlands and then obviously bands of showers continuing across the
02:14north and the west of Scotland exposed to that stronger wind now this rain could turn
02:20heavy through Wednesday evening and overnight you can see it's moving from
02:24the west towards the east so expect a few hours of wet weather with a strong wind
02:29heavier pulses then across Northern Ireland clearing towards Scotland as we head
02:35into the early hours the morning extending down across northern England the
02:39Midlands then in the southeast of England and East Anglia so if you're
02:42stepping out first thing on Thursday morning you may get wet across eastern
02:46counties showers will follow particularly across coastal districts but they will
02:50push in land through the afternoon on Thursday further showers towards the
02:54northwest in between though some clearer skies as temperatures arrive around seven
02:58to nine degrees Celsius your outlook through Friday well watch out for some fog
03:03first thing winds will be lighter a bit of a chilly start a fair amount of cloud some
03:08rain towards the west and brighter skies further east in shelter I'll see you later
