00:00I think he's got going now as he gets ready for race number two.
00:03Well, I think he's just in the moment.
00:05Sometimes as a rider, you feel a track.
00:08You feel good on it.
00:08You get your confidence going.
00:10And you're battling with all these big-name guys.
00:12And you just roll with it.
00:14You just stay on track, get in there and battle.
00:17I will say, though, Jason Anderson got hit pretty hard by him in that race.
00:21We'll see if that resurfaces here in race two.
00:24Kristen, what can you tell us?
00:27Thanks, Ralph.
00:28I checked in with Martin Davalos, team manager for the Firepower Honda team
00:32of both Joey Savace and Christian Craig, who have been having phenomenal nights.
00:36I asked him, what are his expectations for his team?
00:39And he said, listen, we're not there.
00:40You're Evkonsky, team principal.
00:42Martin Davalos not present here tonight.
00:44But they have been utterly frustrated with the season so far.
00:47They told their team no more excuses.
00:49It is time to perform.
00:51And we're seeing it from both riders tonight.
00:53They're getting the performance, but they're not finishing the job.
00:56Well, and there's some pressure in team dynamic, too.
01:00And I have to imagine it's even worse now after that.
01:03Coming together.
01:04Yeah, and you know what?
01:04I don't think that was meant to be dirty.
01:06That was a big quad.
01:07And when you land off a quad, you're trying to break.
01:08I think it was just kind of a bad angle he took.
01:10But, hey, guess what?
01:11You make contact, you still remember.
01:13See the points available.
01:15Ten for the win.
01:16Nine for second.
01:16And on down to one for finishing in tenth.
01:19And everybody getting the goggles in place now.
01:26You see Cooper Webb to the right of the W.
01:30Hayden Deegan just to the left of it on the 38.
01:33He had a top ten in race number one.
01:36Can he improve here in race number two?
01:39Tomac next to Roxanne and Savace and Anderson and Craig all over there to the far right of the gate.
01:46Get ready.
01:47Here we go.
01:47Oh, World Supercross Championship Australian GP SX-1 category race number two.
02:02And it looks like it's going to be Tixier on the 911 getting a tremendous start and jumping out in front of everybody.
02:12Wow.
02:13Cooper Webb.
02:15Yeah, Cooper gets by.
02:17And gets out front.
02:19And now Cooper doing what Cooper does.
02:22And that's pull away.
02:23Yeah, and he is so smart.
02:25So crafty.
02:26His ability to nail that start.
02:28And not only the start, but the first corner.
02:30Then aggression right off the top.
02:32I asked Jace, can he do it from out there?
02:35Well, he just answered.
02:36He can.
02:36And now he gets the lead in World Supercross.
02:39Savace's already around Tixier as well.
02:41He's up to second.
02:42And here comes Anderson on the 21.
02:44And now Ombre makes the move to take over third.
02:48And Tixier is dropping the anchor on that 911 and falling quickly back through the field.
02:53And we are about to see a display from Eli Tomac and Ken Roxton, who are both outside of the top five, battling with riders that they're not typically around.
03:02This is going to be a very important first two laps for the number one of the 94.
03:06Here comes Tomac from eighth.
03:08He's got Devin Simonson in there with him as they're working through the field.
03:14And there's Roxen back in the middle.
03:18And the crowd is cheering.
03:20I believe Hayden Deegan and Jason Anderson.
03:23Here it is right here.
03:24There's Deegan and there's Anderson.
03:26Deegan on the blue bike, Anderson on the yellow.
03:29And I think the introduction has been made.
03:32The crowd went crazy.
03:33Deegan goes by as we watch Tomac and Roxen.
03:38Looks like a Stark off the side.
03:40Vince Grease off the side of the track.
03:42Ralph, we are getting some action early in these races.
03:45In the front, in the middle.
03:48Roxen all the way back in 11th trying to fight his way through.
03:52Meanwhile, Cooper Webb, two seconds up on Joey Sabacci in the lead.
03:56Here's Roxen around to the outside, cuts to the inside.
03:59And he picks off two or three right there in one corner.
04:03This track is racing so awesome right now.
04:08It's driving.
04:08Oh, Christian Craig.
04:09Craig goes down on the 28.
04:12Back up and going, but he's going to lose a spot or two.
04:16He's back at 11th right now.
04:19And you know what?
04:20If you're Ryan Grease, good on you, man.
04:23Get up front with these guys.
04:25It's not often you get Eli Tomac and Jason Anderson.
04:28This is a great opportunity for him to make a name for himself just in the battle alone.
04:32Tomac to the inside on Grease.
04:33Gets around the 200.
04:35He'll move up a spot that puts him to fifth.
04:38Grease is not done.
04:39He's going to battle with him.
04:41But as they come over the finish line jump, it's a couple of pike lengths now between Tomac and Brease as they exit off the corner.
04:52Here's Anderson still chasing Deegan.
04:55That's a fight for third.
04:57It's Webb, Sabacci, Deegan, and Anderson.
05:00And Webb is up 3.7.
05:02I'll tell you, there's no mind like Cooper Webb's.
05:05His ability to learn and adjust in between races, execute his start, be gone.
05:10That's just special.
05:11And how about Hayden Deegan now making his way up to Joey Sabacci?
05:14And I'll tell you what, he is running from the 21 of Jason Anderson.
05:18There was contact made.
05:20And this 450 debut has gotten a little spicier here at race number two.
05:24Sabacci, that bike dancing around on him.
05:27And Deegan gets across the whoops beautifully, carries a tremendous amount of speed through that corner.
05:33And Hayden Deegan closes in on Joey Sabacci.
05:37Man, that rear end really kicking out on the 38 Yamaha.
05:41Deegan is charging.
05:44I like the way he rides the bike.
05:46You know, Ralph, there's this discussion about having to modernize around the 450 and make changes.
05:51He will over time, but he's not going to change who he is.
05:54He comes from that Carmichael, Tomek vein, where he rides with everything he's got.
06:00He will become a better version of this, but he ain't going to change.
06:03He has caught Sabacci, and the race is on for second here in SX1 race number two.
06:11Hayden Deegan making his final Supercross appearance for 2025 and 2026.
06:17On a 450, he'll go back to a 250 for the AMA championship.
06:22Deegan going for second.
06:24He over the finish line, jump bar to bar.
06:26He cuts inside.
06:28Down low.
06:29He got him.
06:30Hayden Deegan takes second and looks over to Sabacci and says, better get used to me, pal.
06:34Here I come.
06:35For a 19-year-old to have that kind of race craft.
06:39He had a big mistake there, and Sabacci goes right back by.
06:42Deegan, back to the inside.
06:45Cuts down low.
06:46Big hit.
06:47He's back out in front.
06:48Wow, man.
06:5119 years old, making mistakes.
06:53That's okay.
06:54So aggressive.
06:56Oh, and right into the face of that rhythm jump.
07:00And look at Anderson now coming up to battle on the Suzuki.
07:03Three riders fighting it out.
07:05Yamaha, Suzuki, and Honda battling here with the KTM of the champ, Eli Tomac, getting into
07:11the mix.
07:11What a great lesson for Hayden Deegan to fight with these tremendous racers and be in front
07:17of the pack.
07:18He's got to stop looking back, though.
07:20Yeah, that'll be learned over time.
07:22He'll have to stop looking back.
07:23But right now, I think he's just making sure he doesn't get blasted because he's playing
07:28with the big boys.
07:29He's playing rough.
07:30Oh, no.
07:31He's down.
07:32He tucked the front and goes down in the corner.
07:36What a shame.
07:37Yeah.
07:37And, Daniel, I've got to believe some of that is because he was looking too much back.
07:42Yeah.
07:43And you're not focusing so much on what's in front of you.
07:46100%.
07:47But he is here to learn.
07:49Brian said it.
07:49We're here to learn.
07:50So many lessons.
07:52Go back and just review those couple laps.
07:55There's so many lessons in that.
07:57I love what I see.
07:59It was so, so good.
08:02Oh, Tomac with a huge mistake.
08:04Don't worry about it, Hayden.
08:06Even the best in the world do it.
08:07The legends make mistakes too, Mitch.
08:10What a fun race.
08:11And Roxen got around Tomac, who has another bobble right there.
08:15Savace is up in front of those two.
08:17He's in third.
08:18Then it's Roxen and Tomac rounding out the top five.
08:21And Brees, he finally gets him back.
08:23After all of that, he gets to pass Eli Tomac.
08:26Wow.
08:26And we are on the final lap.
08:29What a night of racing here at the Australian GP.
08:32And Tomac is still struggling with the backside of that Red Bull KTM.
08:36Meanwhile, this guy out front, Cooper Webb, on a wild card appearance here tonight, having a tremendous run at the Australian GP race number two.
08:47He has no clue what is going on behind him.
08:50And let me tell you, he does not care.
08:52He didn't want anything to do with that.
08:53And that all goes back to that execution.
08:55This man is so smart, so calculated.
08:59Oh, there you go.
09:01There's a three, a three, and a two.
09:03So he found it, Ralph.
09:04You asked.
09:05There it is.
09:05Cooper Webb.
09:07Sheckered flag lighting the candles here at the Australian GP with a victory in race number two for SX1.
09:14Anderson, a superb ride to second.
09:17Oh, and down goes.
09:19Is that Craig?
09:20Yes.
09:21Craig goes down.
09:22Unfortunately, he had a top five finish.
09:24That goes out the window.
09:26Wow.
09:27What a race here in race number two.
09:30Anderson, Savace, Roxanne, and Breeze round out the top five in this one.
09:37That's exhausting, and we didn't even race that one.
09:40I'm tired.
09:40My heart rate is at least 150, maybe more.
09:43And, Ralph, that's why the fans show up.
09:45It's for that.
09:46That's what makes Supercross so special.
09:48It's the unknown.
09:50It's the unpredictable, and we got all of it right there.
09:54Great ride to Cooper Webb to avoid all of that.
