00:00Weeby Kitchen has a chance at his first podium here in 2026, but I think it's about a little bit more than that.
00:06This is about pride. Hayden Deegan has called you out.
00:08He has given you every reason in the book to come out and race race three with passion and to do something about it.
00:16I want to see a response from the 47 here.
00:2061 at Max Anstey. We just haven't seen what we normally see out of him, which is good starts.
00:25And that's led to other problems. We saw him on the ground there in the highlights that we just watched.
00:30Currently sitting third in points. We know how these triple crown Knights can turn around.
00:35It's a good result here in this one so he doesn't lose any more of those championship points at the Knights end.
00:40Yeah, thanks, Will. And don't count out the 19 sitting fourth overall coming into this one.
00:46Could he get to the podium? Solid race three would do it. He has one career podium.
00:50Pittsburgh last year. Club MX gets some support from Yamaha, but it's not the highest level factory team.
00:56So that's always big if they can put one of their riders on the podium.
01:00And Boland is in position to do it. Rider originally from Northern California.
01:05So here it is. Last 250 race of the night in Houston.
01:10Deegan sitting on the 1-1.
01:11And looking for his 10th career 250 Supercross win, but had a whole race to go before he get out another one of those box bones to the back of the jersey.
01:24Can he do it again? Here it is. Rebs are up.
01:28Gates down.
01:30And not a good start for Deegan.
01:32But he's going to sweep around the outside. That's what's good about the outside gate.
01:38And Steve with a good start, but it's Bowen with the hole shot.
01:41Yeah, from a points perspective, Weege, though, Kawasaki guys are a few riders back.
01:50Yeah, they finally didn't get the start. See Kitchen back there making moves.
01:54But it's Max Bowen going to lead lap one in the Club MX bike.
01:57It's the Monster Energy star racing machine behind him.
02:01Oh, and Kitchen makes the move on Deegan.
02:04And Deegan pushes Kitchen wide.
02:05Yeah, he tries to run him off the track.
02:08Now you got both of the guys that want to beat him right behind him now.
02:12Look, he's looking back.
02:14Oh, going for it. Yeah, McAdoo there as well.
02:17Oh!
02:18Was that to Mumford that ran into the back of Kitchen getting into that corner?
02:23Yeah, Kitchen couldn't do those jumps and loses a ton of ground.
02:26Did not lose any spots, though.
02:28Well, DeFrancisco behind him next.
02:31Hadn't seen much from DeFrancisco tonight, so great to see him back up here on this final race.
02:37Here's a replay, so he looks over.
02:39He's going to go outside.
02:41Kitchen comes up.
02:42Then watch.
02:43Hayden's going to run him to the hay bales, use up all the room.
02:45They're going to lose a little time because of it, and that allows Cameron McAdoo to catch up.
02:50So Deegan is third, McAdoo right behind him, and Bolin continues to click off laps in the lead.
02:59Nice bounce back for Anstey as well.
03:03You called it.
03:04This guy right here, we hadn't talked about him much, but he's sitting in a perfect spot.
03:08And, man, what a ride by Max Bolin, and he has slowly been chipping away weed all season long.
03:14I mean, quiet, like fourths and fifths, having solid rides.
03:18And eventually, if you're able to do that week in and week out, those fifths become fourths.
03:22Fourths becomes third, Will.
03:24And it's so impressive for what he's doing, Ricky, and, of course, for what the team is doing
03:29because Club MX Yamaha are a private team, and we can see Bolin.
03:33And then five factory riders before we then get back, sorry, six before we then get back,
03:38actually, to his teammate who's just dropped down a spot there.
03:41And talking to Club MX, these starts are no accident.
03:44They know that they need to work on them.
03:46They know how deep the field is.
03:48So they've actually focused a lot of energy on building.
03:51They've built their engines themselves and focusing on making sure that they have their starts dialed.
03:56It's a huge thing.
03:56It's working out for Max right now.
03:58Big question, of course, is can he stay out there?
03:59There goes the pass right there.
04:01And Max got held up a little bit just in the moment, in the battle with Max Bolin.
04:07And that allowed Hayden to go 3-3.
04:10Make the move.
04:11Hey, folks, talk about St. Jude for a second here.
04:14You can become a St. Jude partner in Hope, and you'll give St. Jude and their opportunity
04:19to give every child with cancer a chance.
04:22Donate $19 or more a month, and you'll get the exclusive Love Moto Stop Cancer t-shirt.
04:27Text S-U-P-E-R-785-833 to learn more.
04:32Battle for the lead is on as Deegan has made that move on Anstey.
04:36It's the first laps led for Bolin since 2023.
04:41How long can he hold Deegan off?
04:43Yeah, well, watch out.
04:44It's going to be interesting to see just which guy slips up.
04:48See if Max is able to hit his lines right here.
04:50Just make sure he executes these rhythm lanes.
04:54You've seen it so much here tonight.
04:56If a guy slips and isn't able to triple-triple or gets off sequence, then they end up losing position.
05:04Yeah, the three ends have been the tough part.
05:07Oh, mistake there for Bolin.
05:08Just like you said.
05:09And Deegan makes it happen.
05:16Looks over his shoulder to the inside, makes sure that Max wasn't there attempting a pass back.
05:23Max or is it Max?
05:24Two Maxes back there behind him.
05:26Anstey and Bolin.
05:28So Deegan now looking for the sweep as he leads race three.
05:32If I had any advice for Hayden, you know, he talked about it, said he was only right 70%.
05:37But these wins, oh, nice pass.
05:39Again, a perfect example of how important these rhythm lanes are.
05:44And I haven't seen these rhythm lanes be so inconsistent for these riders in a long time.
05:51Just shows you how difficult the racetrack is and how hard it is to be perfect.
05:58McAdoo's digging back there in fourth.
06:00And that's important.
06:01McAdoo and Bolin right now in a fight for the podium.
06:04McAdoo's made up just enough spots with Bolin drifting back to third to now reclaim what would be third overall on the night.
06:11And Kitchen, even though he is fifth, would still be second with a 2-2-5.
06:17You can see the math on the lower left of the screen.
06:19It'd be Deegan, Kitchen, McAdoo, podium.
06:22I want to say something about Max.
06:23And I've got a big picture dude.
06:25Looking, already looking into next week at Glendale.
06:29And if Max is able to finish this moto out really well, you know, that'll give him confidence and kind of get back on that same foot he had the first two rounds.
06:39So, you know, looking ahead, I think this is a great ride.
06:42Definitely something to build on and continue that momentum moving forward.
06:46Yeah, for Anstead, it's no doubt the last two weekends, train was starting to come back off the tracks.
06:52Yeah.
06:53Definitely back together in this one, not beating Deegan, but back at least to podium spot sixth last week.
07:00And both the first two races tonight were tough, Will.
07:02Yeah, watching him push, I mean, he's keeping Hayden Deegan very honest there.
07:07And even in some areas, they're making some gains on him.
07:10Talking to Max earlier on today, he said, look, I'm still testing.
07:14You know, the season's going well.
07:15I'm happy with where I'm at.
07:16He's like, but I'm not going to settle on that.
07:18He's like, I know there's more to gain.
07:20And even though he's a veteran of this sport because of his age and because of the amount of years he's been running a dirt bike,
07:27he's honestly only got about an extra 10 races on Hayden Deegan as far as actual supercross racing here in the U.S. goes.
07:33And a lot of that was done with teams that don't have the sort of support that Yamaha-style racing giving him now.
07:39So, I'm honestly only just getting used to the fact that I can test.
07:42So, they're settling on my bike.
07:44I'm going to hang on there some more because I know I have the trust in the team behind me and they're able to do that for me.
07:51Thanks, Wills.
07:52The teammates here battled on the Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki's.
07:56Reminder that you can pick up Monster Energy at Kroger past the halfway mark of this final 250 race kitchen.
08:04It's going to get spicy here.
08:06Well, Cameron has a lot of speed through the whoops.
08:10Clear advantage on the chef, Levi Kitchen, but Levi seems to be a bit better on the rest of the track.
08:20Man, it's so hard when you're in a situation like that where you lose a lot of time in the whoops, for example.
08:27And then you have to use the whole rest of the track to kind of catch up.
08:30These guys are battling for position on that podium.
08:39Second, third, if Levi's able to get by.
08:42Tries right there up the inside, but then Cameron will just get a really good run through the whoops.
08:46It's a little sideways there that time, and Levi was able to keep that cat close.
08:51That should help him potentially maybe make a move, because now he doesn't have to worry about making up so much ground that he lost.
09:00We'll see that he doesn't do that rhythm section in the gap.
09:03It's wild, isn't it?
09:04You're not kidding.
09:05The variance in that one lane alone is much larger than we usually see.
09:10As you were saying earlier in the evening, there's Anstey still trying to keep Deegan on us.
09:15Two seconds, the gap.
09:16J.T.
09:18Well, we're just watching Hayden Deegan here.
09:20It's so interesting.
09:21It's almost a study in sports psychology here, because most champions, Rick, and I love your opinion on this,
09:28they always preach, hey, you don't want to be too antagonistic with your rivals.
09:31You don't want to give them a reason to go at you unnecessarily.
09:35But Hayden Deegan goes about it a completely different way.
09:38Tonight, he's just going at Levi's kitchen relentlessly after he beats him.
09:42We saw the run-in with Max Nancy, and they had a war of words during the weekend.
09:46But it really has never caught up to Hayden Deegan other than one time in St. Louisville kitchen.
09:52And you just wonder, as he continues to progress, he moves to the 450 class,
09:56is it ever going to catch up, or is Hayden Deegan going to continue to do and say what he wants
10:00and get away with it?
10:02Well, that's a great observation, J.T., and I think that we've spoken about it.
10:06I know I've said it here on the broadcasts.
10:09I think eventually it catches up with you.
10:12Is he going to continue to do it?
10:13We'll just have to wait and see.
10:15Listen, I've done a lot of things wrong, and I've done a few things right.
10:18And, you know, I just particularly think that you don't want to make enemies
10:22because someday you're going to need help coming from the back.
10:25And guys can hog the track up and ride a wide bike, and especially the 450 division.
10:31You know, like, if you're seventh place,
10:34and you're trying to catch the championship contender and you're a championship contender as well,
10:39they're just not going to make it easy on you, and they make life difficult.
10:43And so I think, J.T., that's what you're kind of alluding to is, like,
10:47you're going to need some paybacks every now and then.
10:51Look at Levi Kitchen, R.C.
10:52He just made the move on Boland and now McAdoo all the course of one lap.
10:56So Boland has been shoved all the way back to fifth,
10:59and Kitchen is really rolling now.
11:02See bounce over that triple.
11:07So this will secure second overall for Kitchen for sure.
11:11Be looking at a 2-2-3.
11:13McAdoo, this will be his 25th career podium.
11:18He can get this done.
11:19That's a lot.
11:23That's crazy.
11:24Yeah, it is.
11:24That's wild.
11:25But honestly, McAdoo had a very, not very much fanfare when he moved first into the pro ranks.
11:33He's with the Smart Top Voto Concepts Honda team.
11:36Eventually got the Geico Honda.
11:38But really by the time he got to this team, Pro Circuit Kawasaki,
11:41he has been a podium guy more often than not.
11:44Yeah, for sure.
11:44That's when it elevated.
11:46And he talked to us in the offseason, I remember.
11:48This is what I love, what he had to say is, I mean, he really wants to pay back Mitch
11:53for giving him these opportunities.
11:54He's been hurt quite a bit, and Mitch is still stuck behind him through thick and thin,
11:59and he really appreciates that.
12:01And you can hear it in his voice.
12:02I mean, just how appreciative he is to be in the spot that he is.
12:06Anstey.
12:07Okay, now Deegan might be, as we mentioned, these riders today do tend to try to manage leads.
12:14But Anstey does not care.
12:15He's going for it.
12:17Overall, this is a great run for Anstey, and I'm stoked to see him get back up there.
12:22And again, he can build on this and carry that momentum into Glendale.
12:26This is a fantastic ride.
12:28And he's had a rough go at it starting last week, or actually San Diego.
12:34This is it.
12:35Hayden Deegan.
12:36Very few things he hasn't done.
12:38How about this?
12:39Sweeps.
12:40Triple crown racing in Houston.
12:44Hayden Deegan, 1-1-1 in Texas.
12:48Patrick.
12:49That's tough to do, man.
12:52To go 1-1-1 in a triple crown.
12:55But going back to us, and if I had any advice for Hayden outside of that, enjoy these wins.
13:00Because they're not always going to come this effortless.
13:04I mean, there's a lot of guys who you thought for sure it was going to happen forever and ever.
13:08You never know in this game.
13:11But in the 250, Deegan is absolutely in control.
13:15There's Kitchen.
13:16Finally.
13:16Finally has a solid night.
13:18The headline, in many ways, might be the battles with Deegan.
13:22But seriously, if you said Kitchen's going to get a podium, that's what the guy needed in the worst way.
13:27Yeah, 100%.
13:28And it's no surprise, though.
13:30We know he's that good.
13:31Great job.
