00:09In the triple crown format, everybody's allowed to have a second tech bike, which means it's got
00:15a good technical inspection there. And that's just for triple crowns because of the pace of
00:19racing. If something happens to the bike, they need to have another one ready. Now, this is
00:23Eli Tomac's bike. That is the bike from that second race, which got damaged. They have fixed
00:29it, but that's now his backup bike. The team have decided to go with the tech bike, which
00:34is what Eli is going to race on for safety reasons. They said that way, if there's any damage that
00:38they didn't know about, that's the safer choice. Good report there. That's one of the first
00:44times we've seen that. That's wild. Look, he goes to the inside here on the start too. This
00:47is it. It's so tight in points. Who's going to grab the start? Race three. Oh, Sexton almost
00:53hit the gate. He's going to start way back. Tomac with a whole shot.
00:59Oh, look at Hunter though. From an overall standpoint, he is the guy right there.
01:08That's right. He's two points back of Webb and Roxen coming into this one, but they're
01:12pretty far back. He's the second. There's Webb making moves on the left side, trying to
01:17get Craig for fourth. Hunter's going to have to do a really good job to defend his position
01:22over Jason Anderson. If he isn't able to do that, it is going to allow Eli to absolutely
01:28take off.
01:31I'm impressed that Eli has bounced back like this. And Anderson fighting. Hunter Lawrence
01:36for a second.
01:36Great job by Anderson. He gets a good drive out of that corner. Has faster straightaway speed.
01:42And Lawrence still cannot get him. And that's going to benefit Webb possibly as well. No,
01:51wait. Webb is all the way back to ninth. What happened? He cased the finish line jump, we
01:56hear. And that's big JT.
01:59Cooper Webb tried to make a move in the corner before the finish. Got offline and actually jumped
02:04off the track and short on the finish line. He is extremely lucky to go down. We're going
02:09to see a replay here. He tries to make a move. Gets cross-rutted. Gets it to the side of
02:14RJ and then shoots left.
02:15He hits RJ. Whoa!
02:17That could have been so bad.
02:18He is so lucky he didn't get landed on. Great heads up riding by guys like Aaron Plessinger,
02:26Chase Sexton. Being aware and in the moment.
02:31Meanwhile, Anderson has taken the lead from Tobac.
02:35This night is crazy. Every time you think you have it figured out, someone makes a mistake
02:42and it changes.
02:46I wonder if Eli is feeling 100% going back to that gnarly crash he took in race two. Maybe
02:52he made a mistake at the same time. This is bad time for that to happen because El Hombre
02:57is bringing the heat riding good all night.
02:59And Hunter Lawrence up the inside takes second away, Will.
03:02I did check in with the Red Bull KTM team to see if there was any injuries on Eli after
03:08that. And I got told by two of the team members that he's perfectly fine.
03:12It looks that way because he's right back up on the 96.
03:17And Hunter Lawrence able to hold him off. The battle is on now.
03:20What a way to defend the position by Hunter Lawrence. It is so hard not to get scared or spooked a
03:26little bit and get off line. It didn't even phase him. He still triple triples that section.
03:32Eli wasn't able to do that. Hunter pulls a little breathing room in between the two of
03:38them. But Hunter isn't able to do the rhythm lane.
03:40Tomac gets him back. Great racing. Now Tomac's not in it for the overall race win.
03:50But Hunter Lawrence certainly is. And that's costly because now Roxxon's up to fourth.
03:56I believe this puts Roxxon into the overall win. And he is closing.
04:00Yeah, it does. Right now as they run, Roxxon would win by one point over Hunter Lawrence.
04:09Webb is still buried in seven. Sexton, the bad start is six.
04:13But Webb is right there also. If you look at the pylon on your left right there, five seconds
04:18back of the leader. Sexton, four seconds. They're all right there in the screen. What a battle.
04:24Yeah, shout out Christian Craig and the quad lock Honda who's in it as well. Now Tomac begins to go
04:29to work again on Anderson for the lead. Yeah, Tomac getting back into that groove. Maybe a little
04:35reset from that last race. And we knew coming into the triple crown that the likes of Anderson,
04:44we saw Prado the previous two, they would be tough in the shorter races. Not tough enough.
04:49Tomac's got the lead. Weiju asked me about that when we were on the track of qualifying practice
04:56today. Specifically going into that double, are some guys going to break too hard? Is the bike
05:02going to get upset? And I said, man, you can make a lot of time up right there coming into that double
05:07as simple of a section as it found. And that was a perfect example of that. Eli Tomac with a great pass.
05:14And it's all salvaging positions for Tomac. He can't win the race with the 13th in race two.
05:21But he's climbing back up the order, salvaging points. Hunter Lawrence and Ken Roxen, they are
05:26fighting for the race win. Man, what a pass by Eli. He just goes in there with a ton of speed,
05:33loads the motorcycle up. Lawrence has got a line on Anderson. Same thing. What's happening is,
05:40I believe, right to the right-hand side of that double. It's a little bit smoother so they can
05:44drive through the face of that double, stay lower, scrub speed.
05:49And with that pass, Hunter now has the overall lead. Roxen needs to respond. And he is.
05:55Not quite. Anderson being tough with it on his teammate again.
05:58The Twisted T Suzuki and the Progressive Suzuki, but that's the same operation. And Chase Sexton has
06:07caught the groove. Oh, this is going to shake things up for sure. Sexton is absolutely rolling. He's
06:13going to go the inside. Roxen, side by side with Sexton in the whoops. And Sexton completes the pass.
06:22What a quality pass. Great job, Chase. Oh, Roxen isn't able to triple out. And Webb's going to get him.
06:29And this all works to the advantage of Hunter Lawrence for the overall.
06:38And, wow, that last lap. Oh, here comes Sexton after Anderson. So costly from this turn all the way around.
06:48Roxen had a shot at the overall. He's lost spots. And, by the way, not only is Hunter Lawrence in position
06:56to win his first ever 450 Supercross, he could be the points leader by the end of the night.
07:03No surprise. He's been rock solid all season long.
07:07He has been. Roxen trying to come back on Webb halfway through this race. A reminder, Monster Energy
07:14available now at Kroger. And there's still so much that can happen here. Oh, Sexton almost goes down.
07:21Oh, that was close. He's going to get passed back. He couldn't triple. And Anderson takes him high.
07:27And Webb follows him. Webb's going for two for one. Roxen gets Sexton as well.
07:34Yeah, he ain't going to be able to get by El Hombre right there.
07:36Man, you can feel the intensity right now. This crowd is going absolutely wild.
07:45Sexton, one mistake. Three positions he's lost.
07:50There you go. Going to go up the inside.
07:54And if Webb can get Anderson and hold off Roxen, he could win the overall.
07:59Which way will it go? Because Roxen is stalking.
08:01Oh, Kenny slips coming out of the corner.
08:03And then he can't triple. Here comes Sexton.
08:07This is unbelievable racing.
08:10Webb needs to pass Anderson. He is tied with Lawrence on points.
08:14He can gain one if he makes the pass.
08:17He's going for it.
08:19Cooper starting to turn down early.
08:21Gain that speed coming out of the corners.
08:23His track is playing right into his hand.
08:26And with that, Cooper Webb in position for the race win overall.
08:30And it's so often the way Cooper Webb does it.
08:39And this is why they call this guy the disruptor for years.
08:43Every time someone else seems to have it, Cooper Webb strikes.
08:47Roxen's not done with Anderson.
08:48Well, and he knew. He knew he's at the point of no return.
08:53It was time to get the job done.
08:55He showed us a little bit last week of the improvements that he had made.
08:58Now he's made even more coming in here to Houston.
09:02We talked about at the top of the show how he can make these big point gaps in one race.
09:08He could go from 24 points back to only 17 points back in one weekend.
09:14Yes, because Tomek had the bad second race.
09:16That helps Sexton having his problems tonight.
09:19A couple of mistakes.
09:21Sexton is sixth, working on Anderson.
09:23Now Roxen, if he could get Webb, would take the overall.
09:26So it's not quite over.
09:28Battle's good.
09:29Yeah, not sure what happened here because how fast Sexton was going at the beginning of this race.
09:34And then all of a sudden it just, he made that one bobble in that rhythm section coming up and then really hasn't been able to recover since then.
09:45Roxen is going after Webb and it is for the overall win.
09:52If he passes him, they'd be tied.
09:54The tiebreaker is the better finish in this race.
09:57Roxen is not done.
09:58I go back to these days when these guys used to battle it out.
10:06Now Mike, could you imagine if it came down to these two guys going for it?

10:11We were kind of hoping for it when this race began that we could get another classic Webb and Roxen.
10:16And a lot of them have taken place here in Texas.
10:19But it's usually the opposite.
10:20It's usually Webb stalking Roxen.
10:22Now it's the 94th turn, Will.
10:24Yeah, just to let you guys know, Cooper Webb is aware of the situation I just saw on his pit board there from his race mechanic.
10:32He said, stay P3 for the win.
10:34So he knows exactly what's going on right now.
10:37Yeah, I mean, I'm going to tell you what.
10:39This guy, we've talked about it for so many years.
10:42I mean, three-time Supercross champ Cooper Webb.
10:45The sense that he has from his competitors and what line they're going to take.
10:49He is so good at defending that to where the guys can't get by him.
10:53I think if Kenny wants to get by Coop, the best opportunity for that to happen is going to be the whoops section.
11:02Or could it come down to a mistake?
11:04This track has proven so difficult to nail every lap.
11:07And Roxen is closing again.
11:09Ah, we're getting into lappers too.
11:11Oh, Kenny gets sideways.

11:15They get by him.
11:17Tomac is gone with the race lead over Lawrence.
11:19Man, I'm going to tell you, Coop has Kenny right on the ropes.
11:24The gap is manageable right now.
11:27But if he's able to pull it out a little more, I think it's over.
11:32But if Kenny can keep it close, this thing's going to go down to the wire.
11:37And there you can see Webb, second on the all-time Triple Crown win list.
11:41It's a format that started in 2018 looking for his sixth Triple Crown win.
11:46And they are throwing everything at it.
11:49Kenny loses that rhythm lane right there.
11:52Man, he has got to stick with it.
11:54He's only got about two or three more laps.
11:57He's got to stay tough, crit it out.
12:00Now Hunter Lawrence, he must know if he can get Tomac back.
12:05That would switch the overall win back into his favor.
12:09So he has every reason to go for it here with about two laps to go.
12:13Yeah, but I don't think that's going to happen.
12:15Because Eli wants to come out of here with the win.
12:18Get these guys a taste of, hey, I'm the same dude that won Anaheim won and won San Diego.
12:24And was on my way to doing well before I fell.
12:27And this is all about the mind, in my opinion.
12:30Not only to himself, but his competitors as well.
12:33Well, yeah, compare Tomac's performance tonight to last week.
12:36It's a big bounce back, even if the result doesn't show it.
12:41He was good last week, Tomac, but not as good as the first two rounds.
12:45He might not win the overall, but he is serving notice that he might still be the man in this series.

12:53Kenny absolutely hanging with it.
12:55He's able to claw back.
12:57He lost some time that last lap, but he's staying with it.
13:03And I love to see it.
13:05Oh, it's a battle of wheels now on maybe the most difficult track of the year.
13:11It's going to come down to the whoops section right here.
13:14If Kenny's able to get a few bike lengths closer, I think he goes full send mode through the whoops.
13:20And close and goes up the inside and makes a move on Koop.

13:38And you said, at the start of his show, he has got to show something.
13:43He's got to start putting it together, Cooper Webb.
13:45And this is his moment to do it.
13:51And it has always been the book on the number one.
13:55When the back is against the wall, he performs his best.
13:58Croxon still attacking, though.
14:00And it ain't by happenstance that he's a three-time champion.

14:04It's because of rides like this.
14:07There's his mechanic.
14:10And there it is.
14:11Individual raceway to that huge bounce back for Tomac.
14:15Lawrence's second is not enough.
14:18Cooper Webb has won in Houston.

14:44It's unbelievable because he was off pace the first three rounds as far as his speed goes.
14:49And just to be able to make that adjustment within three weeks is unbelievable.
14:57And even though we have seen it literally 31 times, every time it happens, it's as dramatic as the first.
