A July, 2024 formerly employed Recruiter review to the Indeed.com website describes the AFC Urgent Care (American Family Care) Birmingham, AL. corporate office as "very toxic", they write the inclusive feeling they initially experienced declined over a year's time. The health provider claims they have 350 locations across the USA. Another review posted by a currently employed Medical Receptionist out of Norfolk, VA claims employees there are expected to work 13 hours per day while managers work only 7 hours. AFC Urgent Care's Better Business Bureau profile now reflects an F rating for the company, showing 50 new complaints lodged in just the last year.
I previously mentioned an Indeed review of AFC where an employee claimed of their clinic: "it’s not unheard of to see over 100 patients in a 12 hour shift"
I was a patient of AFC in 2019 and recently discovered a medical clinic office manager I had spoken with in May, 2022 at AFC (American Family Care) Urgent Care Cahaba Village (3000 Cahaba Village Pl STE 110, Birmingham, AL 35243), using the nickname "Sadler" is actually State Of Alabama licensed medical doctor, Christopher Blake Thomas MD. In my recorded calls in this video you will hear he refused to give me his first and last name when asked.
I cite a television interview (https://www.wvtm13.com/article/mountain-brook-doctor-sees-big-surge-in-covid-patients-at-clinic/37165650) with WVTM NBC 13 & play my telephone recordings back to back, the voices are identical.
I called this clinic trying to speak with Dr. Blake Thomas MD, whose name appears on medical records from a misdiagnosed X-Ray I had in 2019 but was only allowed to speak to this "office manager". I was told no injuries appeared there but almost died a few months later when 6 inches diameter of infection set into my jaw and head (visible in subsequent MRI). I obtained my records from this visit & a several inch diameter anomaly is visible in the same area where broken skull bone and infection appears in other images. AFC would not help me get this error corrected, I paid $175 for the visit.
I find these practices to be unprofessional in a business sense and medically unethical.
I found AFC American Family Care Urgent Care staff uses Pseudonyms / nicknames / single names in their clinics. "Sadler" / "Saddler" who claimed to be the office manager of Cahaba Village clinic refused to give me his first and last name (red flag / scam alert). The websites of this clinic do not mention who their staff and doctors are. Birmingham, AL.
After 1 month of trying to call American Family Care (AFC) urgent care in Birmingham, Alabama, I am told by office manager "Sadler" of Cahaba Village (near Mountain Brook), Birmingham, Alabama that there is nothing they will do to correct a misdiagnosed 2019 X-Ray I had taken. Sadler would not give me his name (he deals with the public every day) or say who he spoke to in the company about my issue.
