Part 2:

3 weeks following a cyberattack on health provider Ascension (19 states / 140 hospitals, 160000+ associates & 36000+ affiliated providers), more than 100 people have signed a petition circulating among medical staff at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital (Michigan) seeking a reduction in elective surgeries and non-emergent patient admissions, as well as more training, during the ongoing fallout from a ransomware attack.
Their demands:

5. **Reduction in Elective Surgeries & Non-Emergent Admissions**: Temporarily reduce elective surgeries and non-emergent admissions to alleviate the strain on resources and prioritize care for critical patients.

My own experience going to an Ascension ER in Birmingham, AL. in 2018-'19. I found that when my disposition was qualified as "self pay" (no insurance or stated source of income) I did not receive adequate medical treatment and was told no injuries appeared in X-Rays and CT that show I had broken my skull (an injury I almost died from - see images in video). Furthermore, you can hear in recorded phone calls in my other videos the lengths other professional doctors will go to support this fallacy. Millionaires who went to college for 10 years to do their jobs risked their professional reputations versus correcting mistakes.

I encountered far larger issues of medical fraud and corruption in my dealings with medical staff and facilities around the Birmingham, Alabama area in recent years. I believe much of the fortunes and millions / billions of dollars in profit enjoyed by Ascension and their associates are underpinned by a mountain of wrongfully treated patients who suffered at the hands of this medical provider's care. I almost did not survive multiple misdiagnoses I encountered going into their ER and attempts to have Ascension account and correct it errors were met with denials and excuses as to their responsibility. I highlight many of these, even recording phone exchanges in other videos on my Youtube Channel.

I replay My October. 13th, 2021 phone call to Ascension CEO Joseph Impicciche who's hospital oversight network includes Ascension Saint Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Between 2018-2019 I was an emergency department patient at Ascension St. Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. I believe I had broken my neck. I had an X-Ray, 2 CT scans and later an MRI looked at by Ascension Vincent's doctors, each time they told me I had no injuries in this area. I knew their diagnosis was in error as my condition worsened. The area became infected and infested with parasites by summer 2019. I almost died. I obtained my medical records from their hospital along with the X-Ray / CT / MRI imagery and discovered the truth of my injury.

00:00Back to the petition. So the petitioners are asking the hospital to temporarily reduce
00:06elective surgeries and non-emergent admissions to alleviate the strain on resources and prioritize
00:14care for critical patients. This also reflects the fact that Ascension was not prepared or had
00:21contingency plans to deal with this cyber attack. Ascension, like many businesses in the modern day
00:29and age adhere and abide to what is called just-in-time production standards. That means
00:37that every second and minute of the business day is scheduled, booked, sometimes double-booked,
00:47and assembled to run like highly complicated clockwork. They cannot handle kinks, curveballs,
00:58or any minor alterations to their plans. So something like this cyber attack comes along
01:06and it may lead to an unrecoverable situation. This shows the fact that Ascension is structured
01:13to make money. It's all about the money. I put up another review of an urgent care. They're
01:21processing 100 patients in a 12-hour shift, $175 a pop. So the closing of the petition. These safety
01:31precautions are essential to safeguarding the well-being of both our members and the patients
01:37we serve during this challenging time. It is imperative that the hospital administration
01:42takes immediate action to address these concerns and prioritize the safety and quality of care for all
01:50individuals involved. It reads, we the undersigned stand united in demanding these safety precautions
01:57be implemented without delay and call upon the hospital administration to prioritize the well-being
02:04of both staff and patients through this challenging period.
02:08You've reached the Ascension System Office General Mailbox. After the tone, leave a detailed message
02:13and someone will respond to your call. Thank you.
02:19I'm trying to reach CEO Joseph Impechike and he can contact me at that number and I have a message
02:25that I would like to give to Ascension. Between 2018 and 2019, I was an emergency department patient
02:33at Ascension St. Vincent's East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. I believe I had broken my neck.
02:40I had an x-ray, two CT scans and later an MRI looked at by Ascension St. Vincent's doctors. Each time
02:48they had told me I had no injuries in this area. I knew their diagnosis was an error as my condition
02:55worsened. The area became infected and infested with parasites by summer 2019. I almost died.
03:02I obtained my medical records from your hospital along with the x-ray, CT, MRI imagery and discovered
03:08the truth of my injury. I had broken bone in the underside of my skull in the area of the condylar
03:14canal and occipital condyle. How the doctors could admit such a large and serious injury over multiple
03:20hospital visits is inexcusable. I believe some element of organized corruption may exist
03:25in this hospital. I have compiled over 10 hours of video documentation on what happened to me
03:31on my YouTube channel and the name of the channel is My Medical Nightmare. I believe I may have been a
03:39victim of patient dumping in the course of my seeking treatment which is a violation of EMTALA, E-M-T-A-L-A.
03:47When I told medical staff associated with Ascension about my discovery that I had been
03:53misdiagnosed repeatedly, I was personally attacked and my psychological state was challenged. This is
04:00reflected in medical records I obtained later. I could not obtain proper treatment or diagnosis for
04:08this injury because doctors and nurses that I would subsequently have encounters with would only
04:15entertain what the erroneous Ascension ER findings were. My mother, who was a nurse for 20 years,
04:22had the misfortune of working in an Ascension hospital when I questioned my MRR findings involving
04:28St. Vincent's Ambulatory Healthcare Network LLC and Dr. Michael Brandt Ruff, MD, radiologist in March 2019.
04:38My mother, who was a nurse for 20 years and worked in the Ascension hospital, she was terminated from
04:42her job there around the same time. And so this phone call, I challenge the misdiagnosis of Ascension
04:50St. Vincent's East Hospital, Birmingham, Alabama, and I challenge the policy of this hospital. And
04:58Mr. Impeachike, I think you need to look into this, please. Please listen to my message,
05:03look into what I'm saying, and you're free to contact me. Thank you.
