16 November - National Morning Forecast presented by Honor Criswick
Transcript
00:00Hello there, good morning. Sunday will bring some sunshine, but it might be time to grab
00:05the big coat as things are certainly going to be feeling much chillier. Now it could
00:09be quite a murky start for some, particularly across the south, a fair amount of low clouds,
00:13some fog possible and also some drizzle. But the cloud will clear from the north, allowing
00:17a much brighter day for all. Some sunshine developing, though we can't rule out some
00:21showers, particularly across Scotland and any exposed eastern coasts, so these should
00:26be mostly isolated. So for many it should be a dry afternoon, a dry end to the weekend
00:31with lots of sunshine, but it is going to be feeling much colder. Temperatures returning
00:36more towards average for this time in November. Highs reaching between 11 to 12 degrees Celsius
00:42across the south, but for many areas the mid to high single figures. But in any brisk northerly
00:47winds it will be feeling a little bit chillier than that. And through the course of the evening
00:52plenty more clear skies, so once again those temperatures soon dipping away. We're likely
00:56to see some frost, particularly across Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern parts of England,
01:01quite a widespread frost in these areas. Also across Wales, parts of central and southern
01:06England could see some patchy frost, that's away from the far southeast, and a chance we
01:10could see some icy conditions across parts of Scotland as well. But remaining mostly dry,
01:16still once again some isolated showers around any eastern coasts. But for all it is going
01:20to be a much chillier start to the new week.
01:24Now similar to Sunday, mostly dry, lots of sunshine around, still some showers once again
01:30the far north of Scotland. Any exposed north sea coasts could catch some of these showers,
01:34and if they fall across any high ground, mainly across Scotland, they could bring some snow
01:38at times. But once again similar to Sunday, mostly dry, with some sunshine feeling very cold
01:45once again. Now temperatures will dip by a degree or two, highs reaching around 9 to 10 degrees
01:50in the south. But once again some very brisk northerly winds really going to add on to
01:55the chill. So feeling more like the single figures, but actually feeling more like freezing across
02:00the far northeast of Scotland. So a very chilly start to Monday into the new week. And the
02:06cold arctic air will stick with us through the beginning and middle part of the week.
02:11Some showery outbreaks at times, but mostly dry with some sunshine. But it's likely we'll
02:15see some frost and possible ice through the overnight period. Now if you're not a fan
02:19of the cold, well it should be quite a brief blip in colder temperatures because some milder
02:24air does remain out into the Atlantic. But with the milder weather, that could also bring
02:28in some wind and rain. For more information on this week's weather, don't forget you can
