00:00hey guys welcome back to the prices once again this is your host the end of the game and today's video i'm going to be doing yet another anime review

00:14right now today i'm going to be talking about an anime that's a follow up to another review i did but the anime itself is actually a prequel

00:25right and that is boogie pop and others right if you guys remember my past review i talked about boogie pop phantom in the review i was sort of like mixed

00:36um but at the same time i was kind of unsure of terms of like you know i might build it on the show and i decided to like call it or after i see this boogie pop and others

00:50which is actually a sort of prequel to it i think i know maybe that might probably help me to get a better understanding of the anime and come to a better conclusion

01:01like overall because even though there is a huge gap in between this is like nearly 20 years right from the old boogie pop phantom to this

01:12um it's still the same um you know franchise it's still the same series well at least i think in this you know um i come to the realization that it's actually

01:23it's really funny because i from my um question that i had with boogie pop phantom i felt like it was both answered and not answered after watching boogie pop and others

01:39because i really recently come to this for anime that it's not necessarily an origin it's because in terms of like the novels which these animes are based on

01:50there is much stuff that happens before even this anime boogie pop and others you know and to get the whole timeline like if you want to really understand all of it you have to start with the books and that will be a long deep dive to it

02:08deep dive to actually catch up on but like if you're looking through just by the enemies over here you're going to be jumped into the fire and you're going to be left wondering

02:17okay what's going on what are all these characters where's the plot where they're going and i come to realize a certain thing right the anime it does much of the same thing from the old boogie pop but in a way it kind of does it better

02:33most importantly when it comes to the characters you guys don't remember one of my main complaints about the old boogie pop is that the characters they aren't really that much main characters because um each episode the characters is coming and going and they're like most of them are pretty expendable outside of like um maybe boogie pop and the manticore and like one or two other characters i can't really remember but

03:00it's mainly mainly boogie pop and the manticore that's at the center of the um you know that one and here in the prequel it's kind of the same aspect but you know um even though it falls to say format does it in a much more plausible way right like you see most boogie pop

03:24but not too much more to the point where she's like at the center of everything and she just makes a bit more appearances she's involved in more of the events that happens throughout the lab show

03:37and you get to understand more of how much boogie pop works in relation to the characters that she interacts with

03:49the next main character is echoes right this is the one that um has a connection to the manticore and

03:57the toa organizations right and it is a bit of a supernatural stuff and it has to do with evolution

04:03you know i don't really want to spoil it because i think there's a lot here to go into and a lot you can

04:09really get into when you watch it and also then there's the fact that it's kind of like another way

04:15to show what is spoilery and what isn't where it comes to this anime you know those are pretty much the

04:21main characters aside from the mandica which also shows up here you get to find out more and more about

04:26the um what really happens leading up to the whole situation in the boogie pop phantom but it doesn't

04:34really like fully explain everything right do you have these other set of characters i can't remember

04:40much of the names but they show up and it has to do this academy like i said before it follows a similar

04:48style of the old boogie pop where certain events happens with different characters and all these events

04:55are connected around you know the same stuff that's going on but they're not really directly connected

05:02they're so like loosely connected none of these characters they're the most side characters not

05:07really like the main of the show right the main of the show is boogie pop i get to realize more and

05:12more about the different factions and the storyline and what the whole thing is really about right like

05:19how they all work you know and there are several different characters that appear throughout the show

05:25and they have like their own powers and such like there's this one called the fire witch and then

05:32there's another one that's like this guy that has to do with a a rose or a stem you could see in

05:39people it's pretty weird but like there's something about it that has to do with people's like minds and

05:48such and such and i can't really like explain it that much because i still try to figure it out

05:54but it's one of those things that if i would put it simply it's one of those things you can

06:01you you understand but you just don't really know how to explain that properly when you want to put into words but

06:07what you you understand what the whole thing is the whole fact when it comes to the ending i think the

06:15ending really actually feel it for me you know currently given my word account is anime the ending

06:21really did manage to come first in terms of what was really going on and all of the themes and such

06:30that they were alluding to in the anime you know there's some pretty wild shit that happens here you

06:36know i think this anime it it actually pulls off that it's it needed to do it pulls it off well

06:46while i'm not really all that um i would say it's not really a complete major difference in terms of

06:53being better it's a much more uh it's a satisfying experience to go into the anime series if i'll be

07:01honest if i had watched this first part to watching boogie pop phantom it probably would have been a

07:09much better experience from your world to watch boogie pop phantom right so if i want to say this even

07:15though boogie pop phantom came out before boogie pop and others you should watch this first i mean it's not

07:23directly connected because there's a bit of a time distance and then a lot of the characters you

07:30know there are different characters that set a different set of characters and a different

07:36circumstances that are going on with them and some characters they end up um recurrent throughout the

07:44show i will say that uh if i want to really like go down to the anime on the technical side now

07:52i would say on a technical side this anime actually did a lot better than what i was expecting it to

08:00you know the 2000s boogie pop was in pre-technology era for animation you know this was back when people

08:08were still utilizing hand shown animation and you know it wasn't really all that high definition

08:16ish but even so the 2000s uh boogie pop that didn't really worry me that much you know the the dated

08:25style and team it had it actually was plausible and it worked fine this one however it actually really

08:36impressed me because they it seemed like they they tried to kept the same animation style from the old

08:43boogie pop but they they managed to do it that with much more detail much more color sharpening but not

08:56to the point where it was overblown you know they they managed to like it make it feel like it was a

09:03remastered in a way you know even though it's two different um storylines are taking place and then

09:11there's the the whole uh voice acting i'd say the voice acting was done pretty good here they had some

09:20really good voices for the characters i don't really have any complaints comes of voice acting i think the

09:27voice acting was about as good as you can get and then there's a cooler girl which is the the soundtrack

09:34i'd say the soundtrack is easily one of the best that i think i've heard in the past couple years of

09:43anime soundtracks like it's really that cool it doesn't really get any better than this when it comes to

09:50like talk to your soundtracks or anime like if you want a good soundtrack to listen to to bang within

09:57your free time look up the soundtrack for some it's up there you know so yeah overall if i want to sum it

10:06up from a different perspective you know i i get it you know i mean at first i didn't really get it

10:13and looking back at it now it didn't really like completely change my whole thoughts on the series

10:21but i managed to understand it more easier now even but even though i didn't really have like

10:27everything explained to me or anything like that just seeing this and observing how it was unfolding

10:37i was able to understand it more clearly you know in terms of what the anime was doing and with that

10:47i was able to enjoy it more and i was able to actually be feeling more satisfied from the 2000s boogie

10:55pop all right it's just only downside is i should have watched this first right that's pretty much a

11:03dig on my part i'll just say my verdict is this is actually a good anime um story-wise it's you're

11:14gonna need some time to actually catch on to this one from the story um but then you'd probably have to

11:20like read the novels to actually get a full grasp of what's really going on with all the characters and

11:30what the whole lore and everything explained well i think over here when you watch this and you see

11:38the sort of like method of storytelling that's being used and the characters and how things unfold

11:49once you can figure out you know the pattern and everything it becomes much more easier to digest

11:57all right yes you just really gotta like go with the flow to be honest that kind of like what makes

12:04it stand out more because like i said in my uh past review you don't really see animes with this

12:11sort of like storytelling approach being made you know in this era where it's all about some

12:20some sort of like simple straightforward linear style that's more adventure and no more cliche

12:33really dumbed down you know those types of animes you see them all all the time the fact that we got

12:39this in this current day and age of animes is it's actually pretty impressive in my opinion because

12:48this you don't really see this nowadays i mean like it was probably would have done better if it came out

12:56before like back in the early 2000s where these sort of enemies unorthodox was more common but the fact

13:03that we got it now it's i had to say it's probably still pretty good and like i said it's a really

13:11good experience right it's it's like the closest thing i could use to explain this to you is watching

13:20the blade runner because that's one of the main things i was thinking about while watching this anime

13:27and i don't know if there was any references or inspirations on blade runner but that was just one

13:34of the thoughts i was on my mind and i was decided like you know say okay like how blade runner plays out

13:44you know that's not really um a orthodox common type of movie that's how i explained you know boogie pop

13:54just that because boogie pop does touch on different subjects you know if if you've seen both you can

14:02you gotta understand the comparison here so yeah guys um to sell the review and pretty much this whole

14:08thing boogie pop and others pretty good and boogie pop phantom i cannot give my word and say it's good

14:18right and then i think it's worth recommending but that's just pretty much my opinion on this anime
