00:00Bad things happen to people that don't comply.
00:15Are you serious?
00:16Hey guys, welcome back in the past. Once again, this is your host, Daniel Game.
00:20And today we are going to be doing a bit of a big discussion.
00:23Alright, now I am saving to do my usual anime reviews, but I just couldn't help but going like this and adjust this right on the spotlight.
00:34Okay, now today we are going to be talking about the Karen movie.
00:39Yes, there is an actual thing called a Karen movie.
00:43And beyond that, Hollywood's new fad with movies based off memes and political memes, you can say.
00:55The premise of this film is pretty simple. It's about this young couple who move into the suburbs.
01:02When they arrive, they are greeted by a seemingly friendly neighbor named Karen Dexfer.
01:09However, this turns sour real quick as she reveals that she is a bitter, jealous racist who wants to get rid of a couple in course because they are black.
01:20And it's really stupid for you for two of reasons.
01:26The first one is that this film, from what I've been reading about, people have been trying to make comparisons to an actually good movie called Get Out.
01:37This is a movie that was done a while back.
01:40A movie that also has, you know, political, racial themes in it, but it's actually done in a more stubborn, more smart way that makes it more interesting.
01:52This film is not like that, at least on the trailers, it shows that it has no stability at all, no interesting elements to it.
02:03It's just straight on the nose, going all in and taking itself seriously as well.
02:10And it comes off as basically pointless.
02:25Like, let's think about this for example.
02:28This movie is about a stereotype of a group of women that behave a certain way, especially when it comes to minorities.
02:40That's what this movie is about.
02:42Now, with that being said, I have to ask a question.
02:46Who is this film made for?
02:49Like, this is one thing you have to understand when it comes to, you know, making non-franchise movies.
02:57You know, movies that are based on, like, subject matters.
03:00You have to ask yourself, who is this made for?
03:02And if it's actually worth making.
03:05And here, this does not look like it's worth making.
03:08Like, for example, the premise of this film, racism and such at the center.
03:15Is it really a point for black people, specifically black Americans, to show up and watch this movie and sit down for two hours and watch some white woman be racist to black people?
03:35A movie about a Karen being a Karen for two hours.
03:39Like, there's, like, a whole truckload of footages, posts, clips online that you can pull up to see Karen's being Karen's.
03:53And you really have to pay to watch that.
03:55Like, you need an admission to see that.
03:58Like, you can see all this for free just looking on the internet.
04:02Alright, so what's the whole point in this movie and, like, who is it really made for it?
04:08The audience here, there's little no point for them to actually make this movie, to be honest.
04:16And this goes into the bigger picture that I mentioned earlier, and that is movies based on memes and political discourse.
04:25Like, previously, Hollywood has done this one called Cock the movie.
04:33Which I think was last year or year before.
04:35And this movie was also, as you can tell, terrible because it has no story.
04:43It's no story.
04:44It's straight on the nose and it's basically, like, a whole propaganda piece.
04:53Right?
04:54Because it lacks any sort of creative or the box thinking to it.
04:59And then earlier this year, we had this one called, or this TV series called Chad.
05:06Which is nothing like the proposed meme whatsoever.
05:11Because you watch, if you look at the premise for Chad, this is basically about a middle-aged woman who identifies as a teenage boy so she can go back to school or something like that.
05:27And, well, just like the previous stuff I mentioned, it was considered bad.
05:34Although the critics did praise it as being a breath of fresh air, even though it is unfunny as shit.
05:43But, the TV series is gonna be any second season.
05:46Because it's a TV season, that's what TV series took me to look at Batwoman, you know?
05:51But that's still here or there.
05:53Overall, looking at this, right?
05:56You know, you had Kirk, then you had Chad, then you had Karen.
06:00These are memes that, for better or worse, are actually dead memes.
06:04I mean, people still prop them up nowadays.
06:08I find, like, a pretty funny clip on YouTube or good edit meme-over.
06:12But for the most part, they're pretty much dead memes.
06:17And it kind of reminds me of a while back, before all this stuff.
06:22They made a Slender Man movie that was pretty bad.
06:27Because at the time it came out back in 2018, the whole Slender Man craze had already died out long though after that.
06:35And it looks like you're going to see the same exact outcome here.
06:41And I'll ask the question again that I asked earlier.
06:45Who are these films made for and why?
06:50And, is there a point to it?
06:53Is it actually worth it?
06:56Especially when you check out the premise and all this other stuff?
07:00And, I'll give you the short answer.
07:04No.
07:05This Karen film is done by BET production.
07:10And, to me, that sounds tone-deaf as fuck.
07:14Like, the fact that BET thought this was worth backing.
07:19And, actually thought that, you know, people would actually be into this.
07:24Like, no.
07:26Hell, no.
07:27I can guarantee you that it might get some people from a certain political stance to tune in.
07:36But, hopefully the majority of people just will not show up to watch this.
07:41And, that is the facts.
07:44But, anyways.
07:45Overall, that's what sums up this whole video, right?
07:48This whole Fab with Hollywood.
07:51It's pretty weird.
07:53I will admit, these are not sequels or prequels or reboots or, you know, remakes or anything.
08:03So, I'll give them that.
08:05But, it's still based on something.
08:08And, you know, that's something being a political meme.
08:13It's about probably just as bad or even worse, in my opinion.
08:17But, that's just my take on it.
08:19Alright, guys.
08:20Let me know what you think in the comment section down below.
08:22Um.
08:23Karen.
08:24Do you think it's gonna be good or do you agree that it's a waste of time?
