00:01Hi there. A bright but blustery day in store for most of us. There will be plenty of showers
00:06in some places, very few showers in others. It depends where you are. Across much of Scotland,
00:11Northern Ireland, North West England, parts of North and West Wales, frequent showers
00:15will move through. These will be most prolonged and heaviest across Western Scotland, the
00:19north coast of Northern Ireland, perhaps some rumbles of thunder accompanying these. But
00:23for more shelters, central and south eastern parts, very few showers and actually reasonable
00:29amount of blue skies. But wherever you are, it's going to be a gusty day, particularly
00:34over northern hills, where that wind will be gusting at more than 40 miles an hour. Feeling
00:39cool with that wind coming from the west, particularly for Northern Scotland, where temperatures will
00:43be below average, but closer to average elsewhere, 15 Celsius for some southern parts. Heading
00:49into the evening, many of the showers fade away for a time, but there's another system coming
00:53along which will push a ton of more persistent rain into Wales, the Midlands, and that rain
00:58will be heavy at times. It will blossom through the night, extending across a larger area,
01:02further showers moving into the south and southeast. There will also be a cluster of more prolonged
01:08showers pushing into western and southwestern Scotland, and those will be falling as wet snow
01:14over the hills and mountains. But away from those showers, with clear spells and slightly lighter
01:18winds in northern parts of the UK, there will be some lower temperatures overnights, perhaps a touch of
01:24air frost, perhaps a few mist and fog patches. So, stark contrasting conditions as we begin
01:30Wednesday. This front will bring some prolonged rain to southern parts of the country, clearing
01:35away eventually. Low pressure to the north, bringing another showery day. Then the next low
01:40soon turns up for Thursday. Again, a spell of more persistent rain, tightly packed isobars,
01:46so strengthening winds, particularly across the west and southwest. But here's Wednesday's weather
01:52as we begin things. Bright skies for northern areas, but heavy frequent showers into much of
01:57western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Like I say, some wet snow over the peaks. And then this more
02:02persistent zone of damp weather moving its way southeastwards during Wednesday. Nothing particularly
02:07heavy, although there will be some heavier bursts within it. And then brighter skies return to parts of
02:12the West Midlands, Wales, and the southwest by the end of the afternoon as that front clears away.
02:17Temperatures a little bit down in the north compared with Tuesday. 14 Celsius at best in the south, but
02:25some places not getting out of the single figures across Scotland. This cluster of heavy showers moves
02:31through and actually many places turn drier and a little clearer on Wednesday night as a brief ridge of
02:37high pressure moves up, but only ahead of the next system. Here's the rain arriving from the Atlantic and
02:43the strengthening winds as we go into Thursday. Of course, we'll provide you with all the latest
02:47updates on that and much more on our YouTube channel. Bye-bye.
