00:00Kaz, how concerned are you with this wide receiver room currently?
00:04Because I'll be honest, I can't wrap my head around this room
00:08being a room that can lead this team into victory week one
00:12and lead us to eight, nine wins like a lot of Jeff fans are looking to.
00:17Kaz, Garrett Wilson, Lazard, Reynolds, Arian Smith, Tyler Johnson,
00:22then Xavier Gibson, who in many ways is more of a return person
00:25than he is an actual receiver.
00:26So, I mean, what are you thinking about this room?
00:29Is something going to happen, you think?
00:32I don't know what can happen, Frankie, to be honest with you at this point.
00:36Like, it feels like all the trades of receivers have happened.
00:43I mean, Jacoby Myers is still out there, right?
00:45He's requesting a trade from the Raiders.
00:49He's got a hefty salary, though.
00:51I think he's north of $10 million.
00:53He's looking for a contract extension, according to reports.
00:56So, I don't know.
01:01What's he going to cost in terms of draft compensation?
01:03What's he going to cost in terms of a contract?
01:06Would the Raiders eat some of that money?
01:07So, he's kind of the one wild card, I guess, out there who he would be a difference maker.
01:12You know, I like Jacoby Myers.
01:13I think that that could be something.
01:15But other than him, I'm not really sure what you're getting in the, you know, August 31st, September 1st part of the calendar that's going to have an impact.
01:25Am I concerned about it?
01:26Yeah.
01:27I think, you know, I think they've got issues past Garrett Wilson.
01:30Are there going to be some weeks when they'll get 85 yards out of Alan Lazard or out of Josh Reynolds?
01:38Yeah, probably.
01:39But I don't think you can consistently count on production from anyone other than Garrett Wilson in that room.
01:45So, I think that that's a problem.
01:47But, yeah, it's going to be, to me, it's probably the biggest question entering the season.
01:52And probably there's the biggest question entering training camp.
01:54And it remains, did they do enough at wide receiver and is it enough to help Justin Fields?
02:01That's something that Aaron Glenn, I look back, Kaz, when you guys talked to him at the owners meetings down in Florida, I believe.
02:09And you would ask him, because Justin Fields was, he said, Justin Fields is a starter.
02:12And he says, we're going to do the best job we can to surround him with the best people and players that we can.
02:19And you just kind of question, though, if they did the right thing in surrounding him in the wide receiver room.
02:26Because another guy that got cut yesterday was Malachi Corley, who turned out to be a one-year stay here with the Jets after being drafted in the third round.
02:35You know, no matter what, Malachi Corley is no longer a New York Jet.
02:38Yeah, I think it's the question.
02:42It's a fair question, Ryan.
02:43And we're going to have to, we'll probably be talking about it all season, is did they do enough to help Justin Fields?
02:49Because, you know, when you do the references to Sam Darnold or to Geno Smith or to Baker Mayfield and the guys who've kind of revived their careers, those guys went to pretty good situations.
03:00You know, obviously, Darnold to a really ideal situation with Justin Jefferson and Kevin O'Connell and a good offensive line there.
03:08And so, and Baker's got really talented guys with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
03:13And he had Liam Cohen there and Canales before him, who both became head coaches.
03:18So, yeah, I think the spotlight will be on did they do enough to receiver and how is Tanner Engstrand doing when we have that Justin Fields conversation, for sure.
