00:00In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:19We acknowledge our sins, but more importantly, the compassion, the mercy and the love of God.
00:25Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:41Let us pray.
00:43Almighty ever-living God, round that we may always conform our will to yours and serve you in sincerity of heart.
00:51To my Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
01:00A reading from the author of St. Paul to the Romans.
01:10You must not let sin reign in your mortal bodies or command your obedience to bodily passions.
01:19You must not let any part of your body turn to an unholy weapon fighting on the side of sin.
01:26You should instead offer yourselves to God and consider yourselves dead, brought back to life.
01:36You should not. You should make every part of your body into a weapon fighting on the side of God.
01:45And then sin will no longer dominate your life, since you are living by grace and not by law.
01:52Does the fact that we are living by grace and not by law mean that we are free of sin?
02:01Of course not.
02:04You know that if you agree to serve and obey a Master, you become their slaves.
02:10You cannot be slaves of sin that leads to death, at the same time slaves and obedience that leads to righteousness.
02:24We were once slaves of sin, but thank God you submitted without preservation to the creed you are taught.
02:34You may have been freed from the slavery of sin, but only to become slaves of righteousness.
02:41The word of the Lord, thanks be to God.
02:47Our help is in the name of the Lord.
02:50If the Lord had not been on our side, this is Israel's song.
02:55If the Lord had not been on our side, when men rose against us,
03:00then would they have swallowed us alive when their anger was kindled.
03:05Our help is in the name of the Lord.
03:11Then would the waters have uncovered us, the torrents gone over us,
03:17over our head would have swept the raging waters.
03:21Blessed be the Lord, who did not give us a prey to their teeth.
03:26Our help is in the name of the Lord.
03:29A life like a bird has escaped from the snare of the Father.
03:33Indeed, the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.
03:39Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
03:44Our help is in the name of the Lord.
03:49Alleluia, alleluia.
03:50Be watchful and ready.
03:52You know not when the Son of Man is coming.
03:55Alleluia.
03:56The Lord be with you.
04:00A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
04:04Glory to you, O Lord.
04:06Jesus said to his disciples,
04:08You may be quite sure of this,
04:11that if the householder had known at what hour the burglar would come,
04:16he would not have let anyone break through the wall of his house.
04:20You too must stand ready,
04:22because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
04:27Peter said,
04:29Lord, do you mean this parable for us or for everyone?
04:34The Lord replied,
04:36What sort of steward then is faithful and wise enough
04:39for the master to place him over his household,
04:43to give them their allowance of food in the proper time?
04:46Happy that servant, if their master's arrival,
04:51finds them at their employment.
04:52I tell you solemnly,
04:55I will place him over everything he owns.
04:58But as for the servant who says to himself,
05:01My master is taking his time coming,
05:04and says about beating the men's servants and the maids,
05:07and eating and drinking and getting drunk,
05:10his master will come on a day he does not expect,
05:13and at an hour he does not know.
05:16The master will cut him off and send him to the same fate
05:19as the unfaithful.
05:22The servant who knows what his master wants,
05:25but has not even started to carry out these wishes,
05:29will receive very many strokes of the lease.
05:32The one who did not know,
05:34but deserves to be beaten for what he has done,
05:37will receive fewer strokes.
05:40When a man has had a great deal given them,
05:43a great deal will be demanded of them.
05:46When a man has had a great deal given him on trust,
05:49even more will be expected of him.
05:52The gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
05:59Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:01We have been so blessed by our baptism formation in our faith.
06:07So many gifts, so many talents.
06:11We know what God's wishes in many ways are to the commandments
06:14and the laws of the church,
06:16which guide us in that direction,
06:18and help us to discover what God is saying to us in our reality.
06:22So by being faithful to these things,
06:26we're able to hear God speak to us more
06:28about what we need to do
06:30to be indeed children of light,
06:33sacraments of hope and love
06:35in the midst of the world that we live in,
06:38carrying on the mission of Jesus.
06:39Blessed are you, Lord God, of all creation.
06:46For to your goodness we have this bread to offer,
06:49which earth has given human hands and made,
06:51it will become for us the bread of life.
06:54Blessed be God forever.
06:56Amen.
06:56Amen.
07:09Blessed are you, Lord God, of all creation.
07:13For to your goodness we have this wine to offer,
07:16fruit of divine work of human hands,
07:18it will become a spiritual drink.
07:20Blessed be God forever.
07:32Let us pray, brothers and sisters,
07:33that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable
07:36to God, our Almighty Father.
07:38May the Lord accept the sacrifice at our hands
07:41for the praise and glory of God's name,
07:44for our good and the good of God's Holy Church.
07:49Grant us, Lord, we pray,
07:51a sincere respect for your gifts,
07:53that through the purifying action of your grace
07:56we may be cleansed by the very mysteries we serve.
07:59Through Christ our Lord.
08:01Amen.
08:05The Lord be with you.
08:06Lift up your hearts.
08:09Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:12It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation,
08:16always and everywhere,
08:17to give you thanks, Father, and most holy.
08:20For your beloved Son, Jesus Christ,
08:22your word for whom you made all things,
08:25whom you sent as our Savior and Redeemer,
08:28incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin,
08:30fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people,
08:35he stretched out his hands as he endured his passion,
08:38so as to break the bonds of death and manifest the resurrection.
08:41And so, with the angels and all the saints,
08:45we declare your glory,
08:46as with one voice we acclaim,
08:49Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts,
08:52heaven and earth are full of your glory,
08:55Hosanna in the highest.
08:57Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,
09:00Hosanna in the highest.
09:02You are indeed holy, O Lord,
09:06the fount of all holiness.
09:08Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
09:11by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
09:14so they may become for us
09:15the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:19At the time he was betrayed
09:20and entered willingly into his passion,
09:23he took bread,
09:25and giving thanks, broke it
09:26and gave it to his disciples,
09:29saying, Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
09:33for this is my body,
09:35which will be given up for you.
09:43In a similar way, when supper was ended,
09:46he took the chalice,
09:48and once more giving thanks,
09:50he gave it to his disciples,
09:52saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it,
09:55for this is the chalice of my blood,
09:57the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
10:01which will be poured out for you
10:03and for many,
10:04for the forgiveness of sins.
10:07Do this in memory of me.
10:09The mystery of faith.
10:19We proclaim your death, O Lord,
10:21and profess your resurrection
10:22until you come again.
10:28Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial
10:30of his death and resurrection,
10:32we offer you, Lord,
10:33the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
10:36giving thanks that you've held us worthy
10:39to be in your presence
10:40and minister to you.
10:43Heavenly, we pray,
10:44that partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
