00:13The Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Peace be with you. Today is the feast of
00:20St. Martha, Mary and Lazarus. Two sisters and a brother who were friends of Jesus and remember Lazarus was the
00:28one that Jesus raised up from us.
00:30So in the Feast of Saints we hear our own call to holiness, to say yes to God with our
00:36whole heart, in true humility, embracing the life that he offers to us. Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord,
00:46have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and lead us into healing and life
00:53everlasting. Let us pray.
00:59Almighty, ever-living God, whose Son was pleased to be welcomed into the house of Martha, Mary and Lazarus as
01:06a guest, grant we pray through their intercession, serving Christ faithfully in our brothers and sisters, we may merit to
01:15be received by you in the halls of heaven.
01:17Amen. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, God, forever
01:24and ever. Amen.
01:26A reading from the first letter of St. John.
01:29My dear people, let us love one another, since love comes from God, and everyone who loves is begotten by
01:35God and knows God.
01:37Anyone who fails to love can never have known God, because God is love.
01:44God's love for us was revealed when God sent into the world His only Son so that we could have
01:51life through Him.
01:53This is the love I mean, not our love for God, but God's love for us, when He sent His
01:59Son to be the sacrifice that takes our sins away.
02:04My dear people, since God has loved us so much, we too should love one another.
02:10No one has ever seen God, but as long as we love one another, God will live in us, and
02:16His love will be complete in us.
02:19We can know that we are living in Him, and He is living in us, because He lets us share
02:25His Spirit.
02:25We are served so, and we testify, that the Father sent His Son as Saviour of the world.
02:32If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them, and they in God.
02:39We ourselves have known and put our faith in God's love towards ourselves.
02:45God is love, and anyone who lives in love lives in God, and God lives in them.
02:54The word of the Lord.
02:56Thanks be to God.
02:58I will bless the Lord at all times.
03:01I will bless the Lord at all times.
03:04I will bless the Lord at all times.
03:06His praise always on my lips.
03:08In the Lord my soul shall make his boast.
03:10The humble shall hear and be glad.
03:12I will bless the Lord at all times.
03:16Glorify the Lord with me.
03:18Together let us praise His name.
03:19I sought the Lord, and He answered me.
03:22From all my terrors He set me free.
03:25I shall bless the Lord at all times.
03:27Look towards Him and be radiant.
03:30Let your faces not be abashed.
03:32This poor man called.
03:33The Lord heard Him and rescued Him from all His distress.
03:37I will bless the Lord at all times.
03:40The angel of the Lord is encamped around those who revere Him to rescue them.
03:45Taste and see that the Lord is good.
03:47He is happy who seeks refuge in Him.
03:51I will bless the Lord at all times.
03:54Reveal the Lord, you His saints.
03:56They lack nothing, those who revere Him.
03:58Strong lions suffer want and go hungry.
04:01But those who seek the Lord lack no blessing.
04:04I will bless the Lord at all times.
04:08Alleluia, alleluia.
04:10I am the light of the world, says the Lord.
04:13Whoever follows me will have light of life.
04:16Alleluia.
04:19The Lord be with you.
04:21A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.
04:25Glory to you, O Lord.
04:26Many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to sympathize with them over their brother.
04:32When Martha heard that Jesus had come, she went to meet Him.
04:37Mary remained sitting in the house.
04:40Martha said to Jesus,
04:42If you had been here, my brother would not have died.
04:45But I know that even now, whatever you ask of God, He will grant you.
04:52Your brother, said Jesus to her, will rise again.
04:56Martha said, I know who will rise again at the resurrection on the last day.
05:02Jesus said, I am the resurrection.
05:05If anyone believes in me, even though they die, they will live.
05:08And whoever lives and believes in me will never die.
05:11Do you believe this?
05:13Yes, Lord, she said.
05:15I believe you are the Christ, the Son of God, the one who has come into this world.
05:21The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
05:24Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
05:29Human friendship.
05:31Jesus seemed to have enjoyed the company of Martha, Mary and Lutzworth in good, sound human friendship.
05:38We thank God for the gifts of friends and people in our life.
05:43We keep remembering that they are all reminding us of God's love for us.
05:48And we are called to keep remembering that in giving we receive.
05:53In giving we receive.
05:55So, sure, there is a mutuality in friendship where we give and receive.
06:00But we don't stop loving when we start.
06:03When a trap can be that sometimes we start measuring.
06:07Am I getting back as much as I am giving?
06:09And that, of course, can be quite a trap.
06:12And most times it doesn't come from God.
06:15It comes from our human ego.
06:17So, generosity in friendship and generosity in love is a sure sign of the Spirit.
06:24We need to continue opening ourselves to let it be led by the Spirit of gentleness, love, compassion and understanding.
06:38Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
06:41For to your goodness we have this bread to offer, which earth has given human hands have made.
06:46It will become for us the bread of life.
06:49Blessed be God forever.
07:04Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
07:07For to your goodness we have this bread to offer, fruit of divine work of human hands, it will become
07:12a spiritual ring.
07:14Blessed be God forever.
07:24Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours be acceptable to God, our Almighty Father.
07:31May the Lord accept the sacrifice at our hands to the praise and glory of God's name for our good
07:37and the good of God's Holy Church.
07:40As we proclaim your wonders in Saints, Martha, Mary and Lazarus, our Lord, we humbly implore you
07:47that as their homage of love was pleasing to you, so too our dutiful service may find favour in your
07:55sight.
07:55Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
07:58The Lord be with you.
08:00Lift up your hearts.
08:02Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:05It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks.
08:12Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God.
08:14Through Christ our Lord.
08:17For in the marvelous confession of your Saints, you make your Church fruitful with strength ever new and offer us
08:24a sure sign of your love.
08:26And that your saving mysteries may be fulfilled, their great example leads us to courage.
08:32Their fervent prayers sustain us in all we do.
08:35And so, Lord, with all the angels and saints, we too give you glory and thanks.
08:40As in exaltation, we acclaim, Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:49Hosanna in the highest.
08:51Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
08:54Hosanna in the highest.
08:55Hosanna in the highest.
08:55You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
08:59Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they
09:06may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:09At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread, and giving thanks, broke it
09:17and gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:21Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for
09:26you.
09:31In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks, he gave it
09:38to his disciples, saying,
09:40Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of
09:45the new and eternal covenant,
09:47which will be pulled out for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins.
09:52Do this in memory of me.
10:00The mystery of faith.
10:03We proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your resurrection until you come again.
10:09Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and
10:15the chalice of salvation,
10:17giving thanks that you've held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
10:23Humbly, we pray, that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the
10:29Holy Spirit.
10:31Remember, Lord, your church, spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity, together with Leo, our
10:38Pope, me, your unworthy servant, and all the clergy.
10:42Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have
10:49died in your mercy.
10:51Welcome, then, into the light of your face.
10:54Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, blessed Joseph, the spouse,
11:00with the blessed Apostles, Saints Marta, Mary, and Lazarus, and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages,
11:08we may merit to be coerced to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
11:19Through him and with him and in him, O God Almighty, Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all
11:25glory and honour is yours forever and ever. Amen.
11:30At the Saviour's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say,
11:35Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as
11:41it is in heaven.
11:43Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
11:51And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
11:55Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil.
11:58Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin
12:04and safe from all distress,
12:06as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
12:11For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever.
12:16Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles,
12:19Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
12:21Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church.
12:24And graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
12:32The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
12:35Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
12:37Peace be with you all.
12:40The name of God, you take away the sins of the world.
12:44Have mercy on us.
12:46The name of God, you take away the sins of the world.
12:49Have mercy on us.
12:51The name of God, you take away the sins of the world.
12:55We want us peace.
13:12behold the lamb of god who takes away the sins of the world happy are those who are
