Catholic Mass Today I Daily Holy Mass I Wednesday October 22 2025 I English Holy Mass
Transcript
00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:21Today is also the feast of St. John Paul II.
00:25We give thanks for this amazing man who gave so much in the service of Christ and the Church.
00:32We acknowledge our sins. We acknowledge the compassion and the mercy of God.
00:37Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
00:43May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and life everlasting.
00:52Let us pray.
00:54Almighty, ever-living God, grant that we may always conform our will to yours and serve you in sincerity of heart,
01:04through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
01:15A reading from the letter to the Romans of St. Paul to the Romans.
01:21You must not let sin reign in your mortal bodies or command your obedience to bodily passions.
01:30You must not let any part of your body turn into an unholy weapon, fighting on the side of sin.
01:40You should instead offer yourselves to God and consider yourselves dead men brought back to life.
01:48You should make every part of your body into a weapon fighting on the side of God, and then sin will no longer dominate your life, since you are living by grace and not by law.
02:02Does the fact that we are living by grace and not by law mean that we are free to sin? Of course not.
02:10You know that if you agree to serve and obey only a master, you become his slaves.
02:22You cannot be slaves of sin that leads to death and at the same time slaves of obedience that leads to righteousness.
02:34You were once slaves of sin, but thank God you submitted without reservation to the creed you were taught.
02:43You may have been freed from the slavery of sin, but only to become slaves of righteousness.
02:53The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God.
02:57Our help is in the name of the Lord. Our help is in the name of the Lord.
03:04If the Lord had not been on our side, this is Israel's song.
03:09If the Lord had not been on our side when men rose against us, then would they have swallowed us alive when their anger was tindled?
03:18Our help is in the name of the Lord. Then would the waters have engulfed us, the torrents gone over us.
03:27Over our head would have swept the raging waters. Blessed be the Lord who did not give us a prey to their teeth.
03:35Our help is in the name of the Lord. A life like a bird has escaped from the snare of the fowler.
03:43Indeed, the snare has been broken and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
03:52Our help is in the name of the Lord.
03:56Alleluia, alleluia. Be watchful and ready. You know not when the Son of Man is coming. Alleluia.
04:05The Lord be with you. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
04:11Glory to you, O Lord.
04:13Jesus said to his disciples,
04:15You may be quite sure of this, that if the householder had known it, at what hour the burglar would come,
04:21he would not have let anyone break through the wall of the house.
04:25You too must stand ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
04:32Peter said,
04:35Lord, do you mean this parable for us or for everyone?
04:39The Lord replied,
04:41What sort of steward then is faithful and wise enough for the Master to place him over the household,
04:48to give them their allowance?
04:51Of food at the proper time.
04:54Happy the servant if his Master's arrival finds him at his employment.
04:59I tell you truly, he would place him over everything he owns.
05:03But as for the servant who says to himself,
05:06My Master is taking his time coming,
05:09and sets about beating the men's servants and the maids,
05:12eating and drinking and getting drunk,
05:14his Master will come at a day he does not expect, an hour he does not know.
05:19The Master will cut him off and send him to the same fate as the unfaithful.
05:25The servant who knows what his Master wants,
05:28but has not even started to carry out these wishes,
05:31will receive many strokes of the lash.
05:34The one who did not know,
05:36but deserves to be beaten for what he has done,
05:39will receive fewer strokes.
05:41When a man has had a great deal given them,
05:45a great deal will be demanded of them.
05:47When one has had a great deal given them,
05:50and trust, even more will be expected of them.
05:54The Gospel of the Lord.
05:58Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:09We are called to hope that comes from new life in Christ.
06:16He has saved us from the power of sin.
06:21Sin is part of our life.
06:24God's love is bigger than our sin.
06:27And God loves us.
06:30Not because of what we do,
06:33but because God loves us.
06:36Because of who we are in the core of our being,
06:40created in God's image.
06:43We are lovable to God.
06:46But we need to keep account of our actions.
06:50Otherwise, we are letting ourselves down.
06:52Otherwise, we are not being true to who we are meant to be.
06:56We are called to live by the commandments of Christ and His Church.
07:01Because by doing that, we find a path through true righteousness.
07:07True righteousness.
07:08The path to being authentic, who we are meant to be by the grace of God.
07:13Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
07:26For to your goodness we have this bread to offer.
07:29Which earth has given human hands and made.
07:32It will become for us the bread of life.
07:34Blessed be God forever.
07:52Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation.
07:54For to your goodness we have this wine to offer.
07:57Fruit of divine work of human hands.
08:00It will become a spiritual dream.
08:03Blessed be God forever.
08:07Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God our Almighty Father.
08:17May the Lord accept his sacrifice at our hands for the praise and glory of God's name,
08:23for our good and the good of God's Holy Church.
08:26Grant us, Lord, we pray, a sincere respect for your gifts, that through the purifying action of your grace,
08:33we may be cleansed by the very mysteries we serve.
08:36Through Christ our Lord.
08:38Amen.
08:39The Lord be with you.
08:41Lift up your hearts.
08:44Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
08:47It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks, Father most holy,
08:56to your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, your work whom you made all things, whom you sent as our Savior and Redeemer,
09:04incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin.
09:08Fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people, he stretched out his hands as he endued his passion,
09:15so as to break the bonds of death and manifest a resurrection.
09:20And so, with the angels and all the saints, we declare your glory, as with one voice we acclaim,
09:26holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
09:32Hosanna in the highest.
09:34Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
09:37Hosanna in the highest.
09:40You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
09:43Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like did you fall,
09:49so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:54At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread,
10:00and giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
10:04Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body which will be given up for you.
10:15In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks,
10:22he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it.
10:27For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
10:32which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
10:37Do this in memory of me.
10:45The mystery of faith.
10:47When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
10:54Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection,
10:59we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
11:03giving thanks that you've held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
11:08Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
11:13we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
11:16Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity.
11:21Together with Leo, our Pope, me, your unworthy servant, and all the clergy.
11:26Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection
11:32and all who have died in your mercy.
11:35Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:38Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
11:43Blessed Joseph has passed, with the blessed Apostles,
11:46and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages,
11:49we may, through your grace, merit to be coerced with eternal life
11:53and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
12:01Through him and with him and in him, O God, Almighty Father,
12:04in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours
12:08for ever and ever. Amen.
12:12At the Saviour's command and former divine teaching, we dare to say,
12:16Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
12:20Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
12:25Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,
12:29as we forgive those who trespass against us.
12:32And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
12:36Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil.
12:39Graciously grant peace in our days,
12:41that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin
12:45and safe from all distress,
12:47as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Saviour,
12:50Jesus Christ.
12:52For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours,
12:55now and for ever.
12:57Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles,
13:00Peace I leave you, my peace I give you,
13:02look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church,
13:05and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will.
13:09Who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
13:12The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
13:15Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
13:18Peace be with you all.
13:20Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.
13:24Have mercy on us.
13:26Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.
13:30Have mercy on us.
13:32Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.
13:36Grant us peace.
13:38For those of you who cannot receive Communion because you are not physically present,
13:54I invite you to make an act of spiritual Communion,
13:57embracing Jesus in your heart.
14:02Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
14:06Happy are those who are called to the Supper of the Lamb.
14:09Lord, I am not worried that you should enter under my roof,
14:12but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.
14:16May the body of Christ bring us healing and life of the last.
14:19My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed Sacrament.
14:24I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:29Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:32come at least spiritually into my heart.
14:35I embrace you as if you were already there,
14:38and unite myself wholly to you.
14:40Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.
14:44Let us pray.
14:49Lord, grant, O Lord, we pray, that benefiting from participation in heavenly things,
14:54we may be held by what you give in this present age,
14:58and prepared for the gifts that are eternal.
15:01Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
15:03The Lord be with you.
15:04And may the peace and the blessing of the Father and of the Son
15:07and of the Holy Spirit come upon you and remain always with you.
15:10Let us go and live the Gospel.
15:12Thanks be to God. God bless you today.
