നിയമം നടപ്പാക്കുന്നതിലെ കാലതാമസം നീതിനിഷേധമാണെന്ന തിരിച്ചറിവിൽ നീതിന്യായ വ്യവസ്ഥ പരിഷ്കരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും വേ​ഗത കൂട്ടുകയും വേണമെന്ന് നടനും ചലച്ചിത്ര അക്കാദമി ചെയർമാനുമായ പ്രേംകുമാർ. 'ഒരാളെ കൊന്ന ആൾക്ക് നൽകുന്ന വധശിക്ഷയും ഒരു കൊലയാണ്. ശിക്ഷ നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്ന ഉദ്യോ​ഗസ്ഥരും ജഡ്ജിയുമെല്ലാം അതേ കുറ്റം ആവർത്തിക്കുകയാണ്. അതിലെന്ത് നീതിയും ന്യായവുമാണുളളത്? യുക്തിയോടെ ചിന്തിക്കുമ്പോൾ ശരിയല്ലേ? എന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ചോദിച്ചു. കാലാനുസൃത മാറ്റങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുവരാതെ എന്താണ് കാര്യമെന്ന ചോദ്യവും അദ്ദേഹം ഉന്നയിച്ചു. ഡൽഹി ഹൈക്കോടതി ജഡ്ജിയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് നോട്ടുകെട്ടുകൾ പിടിച്ചെടുത്ത സംഭവം നൽകുന്ന അപായ സൂചന കാണാതെ പോകരുതെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ഓർമിപ്പിച്ചു. ഹൈക്കോടതി ജഡ്ജിമാരുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിലായിരുന്നു പ്രേംകുമാറിന്റെ തുറന്നു പറച്ചിലും വിമർശനവും. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് നിയമസഹായ വേദിയുടെ പരിപാടിയിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. "Recognizing that 'delay in implementing the law is a denial of justice,' the judicial system must be reformed and its speed increased, said actor and Chairman of the Chalachitra Academy, Premkumar. He cautioned that the danger signal given by the incident of bundles of notes being seized from a Delhi High Court judge's residence should not be ignored. Premkumar's frank comments and criticism were delivered in the presence of High Court judges. He was participating in an event organized by a legal aid forum in Thiruvananthapuram."
