00:00And the Philadelphia Phillies have a chance tonight
00:01to get back in this series, Joe.
00:03From Philadelphia, 6.08 p.m.
00:06Blake's now going up against Jesus Lozardo.
00:10Lefty versus lefty.
00:12Seven and a half as a total.
00:13Favorite now.
00:14No longer the Philadelphia Phillies
00:16like you saw them with Christopher Sanchez on the mound.
00:18The favorite is towards the Dodgers at a minus 132 price.
00:21Seems like it's do or die for the Phillies
00:23or they're just going to go out and take a vacation in California
00:25and probably get popped in game number three.
00:28Must-win situation for the Phillies.
00:30The question is, can they get it done in your mind, Joe?
00:33Well, they're going to have to, right?
00:35The problem is it doesn't get any easier.
00:39Yes, now you got to deal with Snell
00:41and, of course, you'll have Glass now to deal with.
00:44And then Yamamoto and Sasaki and the list goes on and on and on and on.
00:48So the big question is, and my fear with the Phillies, Donnie,
00:51was they are going to miss Wheeler.
00:54This is where the Wheeler injury will start to rear.
00:57It's ugly head, because do we really want the season
01:01and the balance hanging on Lozardo here?
01:04Because, listen, when he's good, Donnie, he's been great, right?
01:08But which version of him shows up here tonight?
01:11Some of his metrics seem to be better on the road
01:14than they have been at home.
01:15He's given up four runs in two of his last three starts.
01:20This total is sitting at seven and a half.
01:22It wouldn't shock me if the total starts to creep up here.
01:25You know, the Dodgers are built for the postseason.
01:28And if you don't get Harper hitting, then it is over, Donnie,
01:33for the Phillies here.
01:34So I think it's super important for Philadelphia to do again what they did,
01:40play from in front, but they've got to be able to get multiple innings
01:45with runners on and get the ball rolling here.
01:48Otherwise, the longer you let the Dodgers hang around against a guy like Lozardo
01:53or anybody else, the uglier it could get.
01:56Yeah, it certainly can.
01:57And by the way, since August the 1st, these two pitchers, Blake Snell
02:01and Jesus Lozardo, are absolutely loved in the analytical markets, Joe.
02:042.39 XFIP for Snell, Lozardo 2.88 here.
02:08Hint, hint.
02:09Joe might have a little bit something on that just a little bit later
02:11coming up in the next segment here.
02:13But for me, just rooting, and of course I'm rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies,
02:16but I've got to tell you, the favorite side does seem right for the Dodgers
02:18at this point.
02:19It is up to those big boppers early in the lineup because Trey Turner
02:22just came back.
02:23It might take him a little bit of time to get back to that, hey, look,
02:25I'm the best batter in the National League, you know, and see what we can do.
02:28But Schwerber, left-handed batter.
02:31Harper, left-handed batter.
02:32Snell, left-handed pitcher.
02:34You've got to be able to do some damage.
02:35You can't just have strikeouts.
02:36You just need some productive outs.
02:38And the Phillies had their chances too, Joe.
02:39Bases loaded late in that game, got a fly out from Sosa,
02:42and also in the ninth inning had a runner on second base.
02:44Weren't able to get him home either.
02:46Snell, Luzardo today.
02:47We'll see how that one pairs out.
02:48Game number two, 9 o'clock start.
02:51Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers.
02:53Imanaga versus Ashby.
02:54Another two lefties on the mound.
02:56But the opener there for Ashby looks like it's probably going to be
02:59Quinn Priester coming in behind him.
03:01The favorites, though, are the Milwaukee Brewers, Joe.
03:03Open up at minus 116, minus 120s, minus 125s out there now
03:07in the sports betting landscape.
03:08And a total, which opened up at 7.5, has moved up to 8 here.
03:12Chicago needs to get back into the series.
03:14Is Milwaukee, can those bats stay hot today?
03:18You know, it's interesting.
03:19We watched the Cubs last series roll a starter out there for Imanaga.
03:25And you know why?
03:26Because his numbers in the first two innings, Donnie, have been atrocious.
03:32It takes him a little while to get warmed up.
03:35So they figured if we can get a, you know, a starter out there and then bring
03:39Imanaga in, maybe that'll help.
03:40And it did because they ended up winning that game.
03:43But that's not what they're doing here.
03:45And now they're going up against a Milwaukee team who wastes no time getting it.
03:51You just watch it.
03:52Ask Matthew Boyd how that worked out well.
03:54So I think this is all going to be about, can Imanaga get past the first couple of innings
04:00here with no damage?
04:01If he can, the Cubs have a shot.
04:03If he can't, yikes.
04:06The Brewers playing from in front again is not a situation.
04:09If I'm the Cubs, I want to see price points, Joe, in the NLDS as those two games going
04:14to take place tonight, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies.
04:17The Dodgers are the favorites at a minus 330 price to win the series.
04:20The Phillies at a plus 260.
04:22If you look at the NLDS between the Brewers and the Cubs, the Brewers are a minus 235 price
04:27and the Cubs are a plus 196 price.
04:30If I were to ask you, forget about the favorites, which are the Dodgers right now and the Brewers,
04:34which underdog team in the National League can come back?
04:37Would you put your money on the plus 260 Phillies or the plus 196 Cubs?
04:42I think the Cubs is the way to go.
04:45I mean, I know.
04:48I mean, it's unfortunately there, there's a lot of, I mean, listen, what they're doing
04:53here, bringing in Ashby and then Priester, you know, water is not, is not on this roster.
04:59Mizorowski, you know, after the all-star break has been, you know, you can't rely on him.
05:06So the pitching woes here for Milwaukee scare me a little.
05:11I don't have those same woes with the Dodgers and who they can roll out in a short five game
05:15set.
05:16So I would say the Cubs have the better shot at this point.
05:19Yeah.
05:20National League takes center stage tonight, Joe.
05:21Tomorrow, the AL gets back into it.
05:23The Mariners and the Tigers, there'll be Tuesday at 4.08 PM.
05:26Then the Blue Jays and the Yankees.
05:28That's the nightcap at 8.08 from the Bronx.
05:30So if we did the same thing we just talked about, Joe, with the National League, let's do it
05:33for the American League, which again is already through their two games.
05:36The New York Yankees to come back and win this series, Joe, a plus 4.40 price.
05:41The Blue Jays as the favorites, minus 600.
05:44And then we take a look at the Seattle, excuse me, Seattle Mariners going up against the Detroit
05:49Tigers.
05:49The Tigers, a plus 106.
05:51The Mariners, a minus 124.
05:54Is it over for the Yankees?
05:56Got to what?
05:56They got to win three straight games, Joe.
05:57Like, I don't know if I want to play minus 600, but I don't know if the Yankees can win
06:02three straight games in a row.
06:04I don't care who's on the mound.
06:06No, it's not.
06:07And again, I would bet the Yankees with the two games at home.
06:12And you know what I mean?
06:14I would go that route before I went ahead and took a shot with them winning the series.
06:19Because again, Toronto gets to go back home for that fifth game.
06:22But Seattle at this price in a 1-1 spot seems to be, I don't trust Detroit.
06:29So it seems like a pretty good number to get Seattle on right now.
06:33Yeah.
06:33Especially with Scooble out of the way, Joe.
06:34You look at the Mariners.
06:35Like the starting pitching.
06:36Like the lineup a lot more than the Tigers.
06:38And I like their bullpen better.
06:39So the minus 124, even though they're split and technically home field advantage is now
06:43with Detroit.
06:43I still like the Seattle Mariners in that spot.
06:45But as we said, two games today, two more games tomorrow.
06:48That's how we get down.
06:49Next, we're going to go best bets.
06:51And also, check in to see where the public is going on a certain question that we asked
06:55on our favorite public bowl.
06:56Give the people what they want.
06:58Here comes Bye, Bye, Bye.
07:06It's a Monday, people.
07:08New week.
07:08New money.
07:09Major League Baseball.
07:10NFL.
07:11Where is Joe Ranieri going tonight with his action?
07:14Well, Donnie, I'm going to go with that first game.
07:176.08 p.m.
07:18Game two between the Phillies and the Dodgers here.
07:23And yeah, I think this is going to be an interesting pitchers battle.
07:27I really do.
07:28Lozardo, more than capable and has that he'll be able to get through this Dodgers order,
07:35this lineup here and limit the damage.
07:39Snell, listen.
07:40I mean, you talked about it.
07:41You got Turner.
07:43You got Schwarber.
07:44You got Harper.
07:44Those guys went one for 11 in game one here, Donnie.
07:50Clearly, they need to get better.
07:51But I don't know that it's going to work against Snell here.
07:55To me, I think both of these teams are going to have some issues.
07:59I took the under in the first five.
08:02I think the bullpens are going to have to get involved before the runs start coming tonight.
08:06So it's all about the under in the first five for me, Donnie.
08:10There you go.
08:11Under.
08:11And it does make some sense.
08:12Two good pitchers on the mound, tight, tense environment.
08:15Philadelphia Phillies sometimes struggle with lefties.
08:17Same thing with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
08:18We'll see how that one plays out.
08:20For me, I'm just going to keep it simple tonight.
08:22I'm going to go Major League Baseball as well.
08:23I'm not going to take the Phillies-Dodgers game.
08:25I'm going to move it over to the second game tonight.
08:27That's Chicago and it's Milwaukee.
08:29I just think those bats are on fire for Milwaukee.
08:32I think they stay on fire tonight with a chance for the Chicago Cubs to actually play some runs
08:36themselves since August 1st.
08:38You take a look at Chota Imanaga's 4.38 ERA XFIP of 4.10.
08:42It's not terrible, but it's actually the worst XFIP on the card tonight.
08:46You take a look at Priester and Ashby here who's going to open.
08:48Priester, you can get to him as well.
08:50I need the Cubs, Joe, to get three runs in this game to have a legitimate chance.
08:54I think they can do that, but I think Milwaukee has the chance again.
08:58Boy, would I love nine runs over the first couple innings.
09:00Yes, I would give me the over tonight.
09:02So you go under, I'll go over in game number two, over eight minus 105.
09:07Yeah, and they're going to need to get some runs there, Donnie, without a doubt.
09:13The way Milwaukee swings the bat at home wouldn't shock me at all if the runs are coming.
09:19The Cubs bullpen has been very good since the second half of the season.
09:23They're going to need to be better here if they're going to give that Cub hitter an opportunity
09:29to actually beat this Milwaukee team.
09:31You wait all season long to get to the playoffs, just like my Philadelphia Phillies,
09:35and it could be wiped out tonight with another loss.
09:38Having tough losses, Joe, it's part of the game.
09:40It's part of fandom.
09:41But for me, again, Saturday night, three to nothing lead.
09:44Things are good.
09:45All right, at least my Eagles will handle the business.
09:47They didn't, Joe.
09:48It's a tough weekend for me.
09:49Like, I need some help tonight.
09:50I need some therapy tonight.
09:51Winning money doesn't cover it sometimes, Joe.
09:53I need a Phillies win.
09:54It's what I need.
09:55Yeah, absolutely.
09:57Listen, Yankee fans going through the same thing.
10:00They're going to need a win tomorrow.
10:02And if I'm a Cubs fan, I need a win tonight.
10:05I can't go back home down two games to none.
