00:00But the Dodgers, Joe, minus 1,500 to win this series.
00:03Now, understand this.
00:04It's not a three-game series where you lose the first game.
00:07It's like, oh, you got to win two in a row.
00:09It's not a five-game series.
00:11You lose the first two.
00:11You got to win three in a row here.
00:12You get a little bit more leeway on a seven-game series.
00:15But we're going to talk about that Seattle Blue Jays series in just a moment.
00:18But again, Joe, this is different.
00:19This is the Brewers who had the best record in baseball at home.
00:21Home field advantage matters, right?
00:23You lose those two games.
00:25Three straight games in Dodger Stadium.
00:28Three straight games in Dodger Stadium.
00:31That's a tough one, man.
00:34Well, you know, I think 16% of now going back a couple of decades here, Donnie,
00:40in the seven-game series, only 16% that go down 0-2
00:44actually are able to come back here in any way, shape, or form.
00:48And now you couple in the fact that we're talking about the first two games
00:55of this series, Donnie, the two starting pitchers the Dodgers rolled out,
00:58they only allowed four total hits, I think, among them.
01:03So we're talking about 17 innings, eight innings, and nine innings.
01:07And you're talking about two starting pitchers.
01:09You were only able to manage four hits.
01:11And one of them was that solo home run, the lead off the game.
01:14And after that, you said they didn't even get past second base.
01:16How does that change against the next?
01:19Now they got to go against Otani and Glass now?
01:21How – this is over – it's over, way over here at this point.
01:27And you're so right, Joe, because usually it's like – let's just take Detroit.
01:31We just got to get through school ball, man.
01:33We can get to these other guys.
01:34Yeah, right.
01:34Who are you getting to on this Dodgers staff?
01:36It's like one is just as good as like four school balls in a row, Joe.
01:40Yep, yep.
01:41So it's crazy.
01:43We have never seen – I don't think it's ever happened.
01:45I don't think you've ever seen two starting pitchers go back-to-back allowing just four
01:51hits in 17 innings.
01:53I don't think that has ever been done in Major League Baseball history, eight innings
01:58and nine innings, and the best the offense could do.
02:01I mean, my goodness, one's a lefty, one's a righty.
02:04It's just absolutely – good luck.
02:06Good luck.
02:07Let's see how you do against Glass now and Otani.
02:09What do you think, Donnie?
02:10The total amount of hits the Brewers get in this series.
02:14It's amazing.
02:15Like, yeah, like what are they going to average?
02:16Do they get double digits?
02:18Yeah.
02:18What's their team total going to drop to?
02:20Like one and a half?
02:21Let's talk about like one of the best hitting offenses in Major League Baseball completely
02:24stunted here.
02:25And if we flip it over to the American League, a lot like the National League, you can't
02:29have home field advantage and lose your first two games and then go on the road and
02:32expect to handle your business.
02:34That's what we're seeing between the Blue Jays and the Mariners.
02:36If we take a look quickly here at the series prices where that one sits, it's a minus
02:40600 price on Seattle and a plus 450 price on the Blue Jays.
02:43Why?
02:44Because as we just stated, three straight games are going to be played here in the Pacific
02:47Northwest up there for the home of the Mariners.
02:50And if we take a look at the starting pitchers tonight, 8-0-8 start, it's Bieber versus Kirby.
02:54The total opened up, Joe, six and a half.
02:56It's now sevens across the board, but still a favorite for Seattle.
03:00Minus 120 prices, they're growing.
03:01Minus 135s, minus 138s in the marketplace.
03:04I understand Toronto needs a victory.
03:07Easier said than done.
03:08Seattle just seems like they have Toronto's number right now with a cheap price.
03:12I don't know if this is going to be my best bet today, but I'm sort of on that wavelength,
03:15Joe, where I don't want to outsmart myself.
03:17The Dodgers are getting unbelievable starting pitching, and right now they're better than
03:19the Brewers.
03:20They won 5-1 yesterday.
03:21It feels like you should just be taking Seattle on the spot because they are the better baseball
03:25team.
03:26And also, Toronto's on the road in a true pitcher's ballpark, not a hitter's ballpark like they're
03:31used to at home.
03:31Yeah, well, you know, the only saving grace I'd say, Donnie, is that why did you make this
03:37trade at the deadline, Toronto?
03:39You made a trade to get Bieber for what?
03:43For this right here, this moment right here.
03:46The reason you went out and got him was for this game.
03:49So he is more than capable of going down and shutting down a lineup here, and that's exactly
03:55what he is going to need to do to give the bats of Toronto an opportunity to get back
04:00into this series.
04:01Again, it's a seven-game series, Donnie, but it feels like it's now or never for Toronto.
04:07No, it certainly does.
04:08Again, going down 0-2 into home, because it's a whole different atmosphere.
04:11It's like, hey, man, we played well on the road.
04:13We didn't win those games.
04:14We're coming home here.
04:15Let's handle our business, and then we'll try again once we get back on the road.
04:19It's so hard and demoralizing where it's like your fan base even knows.
04:22Like, you're just hoping for a spark at this point.
04:25Like, when my Philadelphia Phillies dropped the first two games at Citizens Bank Park, you're
04:28open for his park, you got it in game three, but you have no margin for error anymore.
04:32You're not at home.
04:33You're on the road, and you're down two games.
04:34It could be devastating here, but a favorite for Seattle at around a minus 135 price.
04:39We'll see where that gets to game time, and also that total listed at seven and a half.
04:43It's not school ball going up against, you know, Yamamoto at this point.
04:45I do think there's some chances for runs in this game, and we'll see if the big dumper
04:49can actually provide those runs at home.
04:51I'll tell you one thing.
04:52T-Mobile is going to be absolutely rocking tonight for that game, which we love our Major
04:56League Baseball, and we're getting some oddities right now.
04:59The higher-seeded teams at home right now, the Toronto Blue Jays 0-2 down in the series,
05:04heading back to play the Seattle Mariners.
05:06In the other, you know, series, it is the Los Angeles Dodgers going the road as a higher-seeded
05:11team, or should I say lower-seeded team, against a higher-seeded team in the
05:14Milwaukee Brewers, they're going back home, up 2-0 with a series lead.
05:17Are we surprised by this?
05:18And also, do either one of these series, George X, get back to the top seeds for game
05:24sixes and sevens?
05:25Yeah, I don't think we're going to be surprised, Bob, about the Dodgers.
05:28I know the Brewers beat them all six times during the regular season here, but the Dodgers
05:33weren't the Dodgers then.
05:34Blake Snell did not face the Brewers, right?
05:36He was on the IL at that time here.
05:38Snell, Yamamoto, whoa, that's okay.
05:40Things will be fine.
05:41They just have Glasnow and Otani for games three and four.
05:44I'm sure they'll all of a sudden wake up on offense here.
05:47Listen, maybe Milwaukee squeezes out one win here, but this is over and no more than five.
05:52All right, so I think the Dodgers are taking care of business here.
05:53They'll go to a series.
05:54The American League, the exact opposite.
05:57Shocked.
05:57I mean, you have to be very, very happy for the Mariners here and surprised.
06:04I know I haven't done very well.
06:06Dodgers, yes, they've saved me.
06:08Mariners, of course, me.
06:09Not that I didn't believe in the Mariners.
06:10I actually think they have the better team, but because of how the pitching was set up here.
06:14They're going with Miller on three days rest in game one.
06:16Miller's been so, so this season since coming back from injury.
06:19And although Gilbert's been really good, he is going on three days rest as well.
06:24And generally, historically, we hear about this all the time, it doesn't work.
06:27Doing a pitcher on three days rest doesn't work.
06:29Yet Miller pitched well, Gilbert not so much.
06:32But they're going to be up 2-0, beating Toronto twice if they scored 34 runs in four games against the Yankees.
06:37It's shocking here.
06:39Absolutely shocking here.
06:40But I'm very impressed by the Mariners.
06:42I do think if I'm able to do the Blue Jays and get back in the series.
06:44Although, the pitching now, the advantage of the Mariners, Castillo, Kirby, they'll be on their normal amount to rest.
06:52Kirby goes tonight here.
06:53I mean, I think B-2 will pitch well.
06:55I don't know what Scherzer gives you tomorrow.
06:57I mean, I don't know what.
06:58I don't hear the pitch there for a month.
06:59Nothing.
07:00Nothing.
07:00It's gross, George.
07:04But ultimately, listen, we said it today.
07:06Dodgers now minus 165, I think, to win it all.
07:10Now might be the time, if you haven't bet them, to bet them.
07:14Great pitching always neutralizes great hitting.
07:17It feels like whoever comes out of the American League, they're going to have to slug their way to a World Series title.
07:24I don't see that happening against the staff of the Dodgers, George.
07:27I don't think, assuming it's Seattle, all right, I'm going to assume Seattle beats Toronto, whether it's 5, 6, 4, whatever it might be.
07:36If they can match up their pitching correctly, I think Seattle's, I mean, listen, no one is Otani, Glasnow, Yamamoto, and Snell.
07:43No one's going to have that.
07:44But, Castillo, Kirby, Gilbert, and Wu, remember, he's scheduled to pitch in this series.
07:51We'll see if they need him.
07:52If those guys are right and they can line it up correctly, in other words, nobody on three days rest,
07:57it's the second-best rotation probably in baseball, and their bullpen is better.
08:02Of course, as we've seen with Yamamoto and Snell, you've got to be able to get to the bullpen, all right?
08:07Those guys are pitching lights out.
08:08But I think Seattle could come close here.
08:10So I think Seattle could give them a series.
08:11I don't think Toronto can.
08:13So I'm sort of rooting for Seattle for that reason here.
08:16That being said, you're absolutely right.
08:19If you think the Dodgers are going to win, take them now.
08:21That number's only going to get worse.
08:23Yeah, exactly.
08:24I mean, just the pitching staff has been absolutely unbeatable at this point.
08:27Even the My Philadelphia Phillies watching the majority of that short series was like,
08:30man, we can't hit these guys, and welcome to the Brewers.
08:33They can't hit them either.
08:34Sometimes it's just a sign of a time of a hot baseball team.
08:37Oh, yeah.
08:38What a crescendo to this show here.
08:39Two hours, action-packed, and we're ready to go.
08:42I don't want to waste any time, because I've got to throw some flames out here.
08:46And this is the time we like to reach out to the people and realize who's going to fade
08:49the public.
08:50Maybe the public just might be fading the Sports Grid Network today.
08:53Find out why next right here on the poll.
09:01Number one, I was wondering, like, wait a second.
09:03Did I vote on the poll today?
09:04Because I was asked on what we actually should have as a poll question this morning and put
09:09out.
09:09You know what?
09:10This is going to make a lot of sense.
09:10We should get a lot of votes, so I find not a lot of votes, and I find myself not tagged
09:14here, and I find Joe Ranieri not tagged.
09:16But here's the question that we asked at Sports Grid.
09:19Who has the best chance to come back from a 2-0 deficit in Major League Baseball's championship
09:24series?
09:25The two teams are the Mariners and the Brewers, Joe.
09:29One team's down 0-2.
09:31One team's 2-0.
09:32And the public said, you know what?
09:34We think the Mariners can come back from this 2-0 deficit.
09:37Come on, Joe.
09:38And that is why we fade the public on a regular basis, Donny, because they simply answered
09:45the question with the 2-0 team there.
09:49So yeah, I think I'm going to fade the guys behind the scenes that post these poll questions
09:54because I'm still scratching my head.
09:57It's a nice question, but it definitely doesn't include the Mariners as a choice as an 0-2 team.
10:04It's funny, too, because usually we'll see it come out right around, like, 6 o'clock.
10:07A vote hit the retweet button that allows to, like, tabulate up the stats.
10:10And by the time we get to this part in the show, we can actually go over and see, like,
10:14where the public actually went.
10:15But I brought it up.
10:16Like, I wonder what it said.
10:17And the minute I saw it, I was like, wait a second.
10:19Mariners and the Brewers at this point right now.
10:21So shout out to the people who responded back, like, Mariners?
10:23What are you kidding me?
10:24And yes, the Mariners are probably going to win their series because they're up 2-0 and they're
10:28the home team now.
10:29So love to see it on a Wednesday hump day.
10:32We're getting you over the hump.
10:33Some people seem like, Joe, they're already ready for the weekend right now behind the
10:37scenes.
10:37But it is what it is, and that's what we do.
10:39But now, Joe, let's put the focus on things that absolutely matter.
10:42We're not messing this one up.
10:43It's bye-bye-bye.
10:44For me, Joe, I'm keeping it simple.
10:46Matter of fact, when we started the show, I'm going to be getting the best price right now.
10:49It's the Mariners minus 135 on the money line here.
10:52Some outlets you can get as low as minus 130 right now.
10:55I'm just keeping it simple.
10:56A team with all the momentum in Seattle, their home, that place is going to be rocking.
11:00Kirby and Bieber, let's just call it a draw at this point.
11:03The lineup, much, much better for Seattle.
11:05The one thing Toronto loves, to hit home runs in that tiny ballpark in Toronto.
11:09This ain't a tiny ballpark.
11:10You need the big dumper and the boys to go yard, which they will do tonight.
11:14Give me the Mariners on the money line at a minus 135 price, Joe.
11:18That sounds like a 2-0 hump day Wednesday to me.
11:20Yeah, well, we talked about it yesterday, Donnie, is that we could have two 4-0 sweeps here
11:27and then have to wait a month before we get the World Series started
11:30because these series could be over before they begin here.
