00:00The city of brotherly love is going to take center stage tonight.
00:02Why?
00:02Because the Philadelphia Phillies and the Dodgers will tee it up at 6-0-8.
00:05And then the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants right around 8-0-8 to 8-15
00:08when that game is going to start.
00:09But however, you're not going to hear me complain, Joe, but I do have a complaint.
00:13Because I like to complain about things where I don't think they make all that much sense.
00:17Hear me out on this.
00:19The Phillies and the Dodgers played last night at 9 o'clock.
00:22Understandable, right?
00:226 o'clock on the West Coast, four games in baseball.
00:25You want to give each one of these games their window.
00:27It's understandable that's the way it played out.
00:28And as a fan, I understand it where I wasn't going to be able to stay up for the entire game.
00:32And I didn't, but the Phillies won.
00:33It's okay.
00:34So I look forward to myself and say, you know what?
00:35The Phillies played 6 o'clock tonight.
00:37That's perfect.
00:37I'll be able to watch that entire game and get to bed and root on the Philadelphia Phillies.
00:41But I have to question this.
00:43Why are the Phillies on at 6-0-8 and the Brewers and the Cubs are on at 9-0-8?
00:47Like, how did that even happen at that point, Joe?
00:49Like, why?
00:50Like, again, this is me complaining about I actually get to watch a baseball game,
00:53but I don't understand the theater.
00:55Usually it's closer to the East Coast or East Coast time, Central time.
00:58You get the earlier game.
01:00Why are the Cubs on at 9-0-8 tonight?
01:02I believe, Donnie, because the Dodgers, if Phillies win this game,
01:08they're going to have to come on a plane.
01:09They're going to have to fly all the way back East.
01:11So the sooner that game is over, if there, in fact, is going to be a game five,
01:16it gives them an opportunity to get out of Dodge.
01:19Because flying back East probably wouldn't land them if they played 9 o'clock,
01:25probably wouldn't get there until 2 o'clock in the morning.
01:27So I think they're just prepping ahead of time.
01:29If there is a game five, that needs to be the first game in the book
01:33so everyone can hop on a plane and get out.
01:35You know what's interesting about this, too,
01:37because we're going to get to the two games here in just a moment.
01:39But you always hear about this in playoff baseball.
01:41And I understand they have a day off.
01:42Like, let's just say the Phillies do win tonight's a Thursday.
01:44Then the game number five at Citizens Bank Ballpark is not until Saturday night.
01:47So you get the day and a half, but you're right about this.
01:50If it's late night, you're flying.
01:51You don't get that much of a delay.
01:53Most teams in that big situation are going to send their starting pitcher
01:56back East already to get them acclimated with like a day or two to get ready.
02:01You know that starting pitcher in game number five is going to be Shohei Otani.
02:04He's not going to get on a plane early and leave this game.
02:07You're like, you know what?
02:07I'm the DH, the best player on this team, but you need me as a pitcher.
02:10That's an interesting one that pops up because no doubt in my mind,
02:13if it was Yamamoto, he wouldn't even be in the ballpark for that game Thursday
02:16and already be back in Philadelphia trying to get acclimated.
02:19Just something to keep an eye on at this point.
02:21But two games tonight, starting at 6-0-8, Philadelphia and Los Angeles,
02:24a slight favorite towards the Dodgers, Joe.
02:27Minus 124s to minus 130s, depending on where you're shopping at,
02:30and a total of seven and a half.
02:31It's going to be Sanchez for the Philadelphia Phillies and glass now,
02:34from what I'm seeing here, for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
02:36I do think the Phillies have the pitching advantage in this game.
02:39I like the momentum the Phillies had yesterday,
02:42but sometimes it doesn't always translate.
02:44So for you, Joe, Sanchez is a great pitcher.
02:47Bullpen has rested for the Phillies.
02:48The lineup finally turned over last night.
02:51I like the signs for the Phillies.
02:52I was devastated last night coming into that game,
02:54figuring the Phillies are just going to play a game and head home
02:56and get pounded by the Dodgers.
02:58I'm way more optimistic about the Phillies' chances,
03:01not only just from a fan perspective, but a handicapping perspective as well.
03:05You know, I think a lot of this is going to ride on,
03:08what do you get out of Sanchez?
03:10Who the Dodgers have had some success against this year.
03:15So are you going to have to go to the bullpen, you know,
03:18after two or three innings?
03:19Are we going to have to try to cobble some things together here?
03:23I think a lot of this is going to depend on how long can you get Sanchez go?
03:27How can you set up that bullpen?
03:29It's all hands on deck one way or the other,
03:31but I think the best scenario for Philadelphia is can he go five, Donnie?
03:35Can you get five or six innings out of them and have a lead and give them an
03:40opportunity to get the back end of the bullpen in the game?
03:43The problem is glass now has been pretty darn good here this year,
03:48especially at home.
03:49And the Dodgers did get Will Smith back, which is good for them here.
03:54I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
03:56It's going to be pressure packed.
03:58I don't know how many runs we're getting here tonight.
04:00I don't think we're going to get as many as we got last night, Donnie.
04:02I'll tell you what's interesting.
04:04The Dodgers had a two game lead last night.
04:06It does kind of make me chuckle.
04:07It's like, Hey, Clayton Kershaw, come on for the home fan base.
04:09It'll be a lot of fun.
04:10He got absolutely pounded, pounded in the seventh and eighth inning.
04:14He should have got more runs scored on the seventh,
04:16but the eighth inning he caught up to him.
04:17We'll see if that changes tonight.
04:18No pitchers assigned just yet, Joe, for Milwaukee and Chicago.
04:22Slight favorite towards Milwaukee,
04:23a total of seven in the friendly confines.
04:26We've got to wait a little bit longer to find out who exactly those starting
04:28pitchers are going to be today.
04:31Yeah, well, that's the question, right?
04:32I mean, who are they going to go with?
04:34We've already seen Milwaukee win in a bullpen game, right?
04:40So now they've got to decide which, which direction are they going to go here?
04:45Are they going to bring Peralta back on short rest?
04:48Do they want to get it done ASAP?
04:49I mean, it's, it's going to be interesting to see which each team goes with.
04:54I mean, listen, Boyd only lasted an egg and a half, right?
04:57So if you're Chicago, you can always go back to him.
04:59Yeah, keep an eye on these situations too, Joe,
05:03because the bullpen day turns into, oh, you can pitch an inning or two.
05:06That's where they start to turn that over in the playoffs to try to use it.
05:09Always tough to handicap, but it's funny, right?
05:11Like, hey, Joe, handicap the game, minus 120.
05:13Who's pitching?
05:13I don't know.
05:14What's the lineup?
05:15I don't know.
05:15Good luck with that one.
05:16We'll find that a little bit later in the day.
