00:00The NL Central Showdown, Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Milwaukee, trying to make a charge here over the Chicago Cubs.
00:06We've got another matchup today, Joe Ranieri at 210 Eastern today, 951, 952 on the rotation.
00:13The Cubs and the Brewers, it's Imanaga, the left-handed pitcher for the Cubs on the mound, going up against Freddy Peralta.
00:18If we're looking at certain outlets here, minus 110s, minus 115s, minus 120s, wherever you're shopping at,
00:24roughly a pick-em in this contest money line split.
00:28You look at the total overnight, Joe, eights, those have disappeared.
00:31They're all seven and a halves.
00:33We could be looking at a pitching duel today in Milwaukee, but does Milwaukee get the edge again over the Chicago Cubs today?
00:41Well, I mean, it's a great pitcher in battle, right?
00:44If I'm the Cubs and I'm on the verge of being swept by the division rivals here in Milwaukee, I want Imanaga on the mound, right?
00:54Now, he did miss, what, a month and a half with that hamstring issue, but I believe he's actually been pretty decent since he actually came off.
01:04It was late June, I think, just before July, and he's, what, 4-2 and no sixth start.
01:09So, he is coming off his worst start, though, if you remember, seven runs, 12 hits, a couple of homers there, the White Sox, and that was on Friday.
01:19But this is a division rivalry game.
01:21I like it.
01:22I like the under, seven and a half.
01:24Milwaukee has been crushing it, but I think Imanaga bounces back after that last outing, and we got ourselves a good old-fashioned pitching duel.
01:33Look, I actually think Milwaukee's the better team here.
01:36I liked them yesterday to get that victory.
01:37They got it.
01:38I like them again today, like, finish off that sweep.
01:40You're right, Imanaga coming back a little bit banged up, and look at the lineup now for the Brewers.
01:44Last 30 days, Joe, they're really hitting left-handed pitchers, and if Imanaga can be hit, this team can step up.
01:49Freilich, Churio, it'll be interesting.
01:51I don't know if he's going to be in the lineup today with that cramps that he said he had yesterday.
01:54He's probably going to be out.
01:55Contreras, Yelich, Vaughn, all those guys have really good statistics here.
01:58I'm going to ride the streak here with the Milwaukee Brewers at a cheap price, roughly a pick-em,
02:02and I'll go ahead and I'll take the Milwaukee Brewers today.
02:05Let's look at those Metropolitans who had a pretty good start here to the, or I was going to say finish,
02:09to the late months here of July, but now we're taking a look at a couple-game losing streak
02:13going up against the San Diego Padres today.
02:16Pitching matchup on the mound, Clay Holmes going up against Hugh Darvish,
02:19and again, just like we talked about the Cubs and the Brewers, Joe, roughly a pick-em either side,
02:24depending on where you're shopping at, and an eight-and-a-half as a total.
02:28Monsoto left the game last night, probably precautionary, might be able to hold him out today,
02:32if they want to afford to do that, because the Phillies right back on their heels once again,
02:36picking up a victory last night.
02:37What are the expectations for you today, Joe?
02:39Mets taking on the Padres.
02:41Yeah, some questions, right?
02:43Like, so what are we getting here today?
02:46What does this lineup look like for the Mets?
02:49And I got to tell you, there's still some question marks here,
02:53depending on what we think we're going to get from Mr. Soto.
02:57But I do think the Padres, plus money, Donnie, at this point here,
03:02or at least they were when this thing opened up, I got no problem with Darvish.
03:06I think, listen, it took him a little while to get the rust off, right?
03:10But he's actually, his numbers are starting to bear out that he's pretty much the same guy
03:16that we've gotten over the last couple of seasons that we have seen him.
03:19That should be good enough to give, I think, this Padres lineup an opportunity
03:24to get to Clay Holmes before the Mets get to you, Darvish.
03:28I got to tell you, like, we're looking at you, Darvish.
03:30Like, you know, we joke around like, boy, he used to be a really good pitcher in the past.
03:33You look at you, Darvish, 31st on the card today,
03:35Joe out of 32 pitchers last 45 days with ex-FIP of a 519.
03:40Now, he's only had 16 and two-thirds innings pitched since coming back,
03:42but also in those past 45 days.
03:44A 9.18 ERA.
03:47Now, you might sort of, Juan Soto's the best hitter in the lineup.
03:50I don't care what the statistics say.
03:51That's the hardest guy to get out.
03:52If he doesn't play today, that's a big-time win for the Padres.
03:55But if he does play today, I like the way that Mets roster looks going up against Darvish today.
04:00But also, Joe, I like the way they looked going up against the pitcher last night.
04:03So it's like, all right, they struggled last night.
04:05Juan Soto might be down.
04:07It's not really advantageous.
04:08It is a true pitcher's ballpark.
04:09It's the middle of the afternoon, a 1 o'clock start in this 4 o'clock East Coast time.
04:13I got to tell you, I think there's a chance that you, Darvish, can get banged around a bit.
04:16If I see Soto back in that lineup today, I'm actually going Mets in this one, Joe.
04:20I don't know that they will, though, because I believe the Mets are off tomorrow, right?
04:25So you got a short situation because they played last night.
04:29So, you know, I don't think they will play him.
04:32I think they'll give him the extra day off.
04:34My problem is Clay Holmes is way over his career high in innings pitched.
04:40He was a reliever, not a starter.
04:42And I think that's going to be worth watching as the season progresses here.
04:46What does he start to regress here a little bit?
04:49You know what's a good point you bring up, too?
04:52Because so many times we look at this, like, oh, afternoon game, maybe this game stays under the total.
04:56Clay Holmes, last 45 days, Joe.
04:5735 and a third innings pitched.
04:59How about an ERA close to five and a 4.72 XF number?
05:02Two struggling pitchers.
05:03Maybe instead of the side, sneaky total.
05:05Both teams get the three right in that ballpark to see if you can certainly make that happen.
05:08I like it.
05:09Talking myself into afternoon baseball, which is a ton of afternoon baseball, which we're going to continue to hit in the next segment.
05:16Dodgers.
05:17Otani.
05:17How long is he going to now?
05:19Come on back.
05:19We're handicapping together right here on the early line.
05:22Ah, Los Angeles.
05:23The Dodgers.
05:24It's time to talk some Dodgers baseball.
05:26Maybe it wasn't the greatest impersonation of one Vin Skelly at this point, but it is what it is.
05:31And tonight, it's game 7-10.
05:33Great American ballpark here.
05:34Shohei Otani's on the mound.
05:36Before we handicap the game in its entirety, Joe, give me this question.
05:39Are we stretching out Otani?
05:41Like, he's been to three innings.
05:43Is he just going to be three innings?
05:44Could we see him pitch well?
05:46Let's just say not give up an earned run in three innings.
05:47Ah, send him out for the fourth.
05:48Send him out for the fifth.
05:49When are we getting to that point?
05:51Is tonight, could it be that point?
05:53I don't know that tonight will be that point.
05:56All of this with him is going to be day by day to see exactly maybe how it all unfolds with him.
06:03But I think if he has relatively quick innings with the pitch count down by the time he gets to the, let's say, third inning,
06:12there's no reason to believe they won't continue to roll him out there to kind of stretch him out.
06:18I do think you're going to get more of that next month here in August.
06:22I think you'll start to see more and more of that.
06:24But for right now, I think, hey, listen, if he's 12 pitches an inning, yeah, you can probably get four out of him, four or five, you know, ends out of him here.
06:33I think it all has to do with pitch count with him.
06:35Yeah, take a look also at that total.
06:37Just going back to the game yesterday, five to four final, which the Dodgers picked up the victory over the Reds.
06:43That game had nine runs.
06:44Now, if Otani is on the mound and we can get three innings of shutout baseball or anticipated that because he's been very good since he's been back to the mound.
06:52I look, I understand it's going to be good hitting temperature there.
06:55Nick Martinez, not a great pitcher.
06:56But also, I'm not getting the full gas lineup right now for the Dodgers.
06:59It's absolutely hitting on all cylinders.
07:01And also, nine and a half means you need 10 runs to beat me.
07:05Like, I'm an over guy.
07:06But I got to tell you, Joe, I look at the nine and a half and go, if Otani starts out this game good and Nick Martinez can just be a veteran pitcher, who says this game can't be three to two after five innings, which gives you four runs of leeway through the final courts of that game?
07:17Yeah, I agree.
07:19Total is five for the first five.
07:21In fact, I'm even seeing five and a half, Donnie.
07:24But again, if Otani is out after two innings or three, and maybe things aren't working out all that well.
07:32But both of these games against Cincinnati at the Great American Ballpark, we saw nine and a half at the open, and we haven't gotten more than nine runs in these first two games.
07:43So Dodgers keep scoring just five runs.
07:46We're not getting anywhere near double-digit final scores here.
07:50I don't know what Nick Martinez, who's been very serviceable for the Reds, not sure that we're going to get it here today either.
07:57Yeah, 444x over his last 45 days, which, again, just be average.
08:01If Nick Martinez is average, I don't think we get over 10 runs.
08:04But if it's a Dodgers with five on the board before we get out of the third inning, well, then you're heading for an over at that point.
08:09I think the under nine and a half makes a little bit of a decent play, decent sense here.
08:13Let's go over to Detroit.
08:14Hey, look at Detroit.
08:15Beating up on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
08:17The Diamondbacks have no idea who's staying or going, playing today, leaving tomorrow.
08:22Nelson's going to be on the mound versus Paddock, a new acquisition here for Detroit.
08:25You look at this number.
08:27Overnight, minus 120s here.
08:28You see the graphic about to pop up at about a minus 134 price.
08:31Minus 135 is as high as minus 145s out there.
08:34Minus 140s, I should say, at Bet365.
08:37Look across the board.
08:38Nines as a total here.
08:39So runs are expected.
08:40It's one where you say, sometimes, Joe, the handicapping doesn't need to be handicapped because if you're betting on the Diamondbacks, you don't know who's in that lineup, who's available in that bullpen.
08:51Starting pitchers could be pulled at any time.
08:53That's Russian roulette right there with the Diamondbacks today.
08:56And that's a cheap price on the Detroit Tigers.
08:59Yeah, now they've won there.
09:00You know, after they couldn't win, couldn't hit, couldn't do anything, Detroit has now rattled off, what, three straight wins here.
09:07And now we're talking about a Diamondback team that's lost seven of their last eight.
09:12And I believe even in their last, you go back, last four or five games, this team looks about as disinterested as we have seen.
09:20And I think it started right after Josh Naylor was traded, and then the rumors coming out about Suarez and everything else, and is Merrill Kelly's last game, and it's Zach Galza.
09:31This is a defeated ball club right now, and you can see the at-bats and the way they're approaching each of these games.
09:37And we mentioned it on Monday.
09:39We said, this is a fade team until Thursday, until they figure out who, what, and where.
09:45Arizona is one of those clubs that everyone knows they may not be there tomorrow outside of a handful of guys.
09:52Not a good time right now for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
09:56You know, Brandon Fault was having a decent month here, and yesterday, four and two-thirds innings pitched, 11 hits, seven earned runs given.
10:02I'll bounce it right out of that ballgame.
10:04And then you look at the lineup for them.
10:05Of course, we didn't have any Eugenio Suarez.
10:07He's listed in the projected lineup, but there's absolutely no way, no way that Eugenio Suarez can wind up in the lineup today for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
10:15It's one of those games where you might not even get that lineup card till late, Joe, because of what we think might happen here to the Diamondbacks as early as today.
10:24Yeah, and again, they haven't scored, but they scored two runs last night.
10:28They got shut out over the weekend.
10:30They've only had a handful of runs.
10:32This is not a team that is exactly locked in at the plate.
10:38But I'll tell you this, this is going to be a stretch-out game for Paddock because they're going to want to see what this guy has.
10:46He has not had a quality start, Donnie, I think, in, what, two months?
10:49It's been a rough go.
10:52If the Diamondbacks are going to get a go, and Paddock might be the guy worth it.
10:56If you want Arizona, I would only look for him in the first five.
11:00But otherwise, I just think Detroit is too much.
11:03Yeah, if that team walking around, like, hey, we'll play with you a little bit in the beginning, 3-1, 4-1, all right, we're done.
11:08Ends up 12-2 like it did yesterday.
11:10We'll find out sooner than later.
11:12You take a look at Washington and Houston, an afternoon game, and, yes, Houston actually won a baseball game yesterday.
11:17Mackenzie Gore will be on the mound, the left-handed pitcher.
11:20Boys, he had a rough go of it as of late.
11:22Gusto is on the mound here for the Houston Astros.
11:25It's Gusto, Gusto, Mucho Gusto.
11:27Yeah, he's out there.
11:27Minus 120 price, though, across the marketplace.
11:30And you take a look at a total that's listed between 7.5 and 8 here.
11:33Hard to get a read on Houston outside of.
11:36That lineup doesn't look too good on a day-to-day basis.
11:38Even if it's Mackenzie Gore and you're supposed to smash him.
11:41Can this team actually provide some offense?
11:43I lean towards the under, even though Gore stinks.
11:46And Gusto isn't much better.
11:48No, they're not.
11:49But I'll also tell you this.
11:50They did get some good news, the Astros, because Jeremy Pena is at AAA doing a rehab.
11:57And Jordan Alvarez and Jake Myers, by the way, are ramping up baseball activities,
12:03which means the Astros are getting a little bit closer to having a lot of their starters back
12:08and a lot of big bats back.
12:10So if they can weather this storm, I'd like them here today at home to get it done against
12:17just a struggling Washington team who, again, even Gore.
12:21Gore's been getting lit up here.
12:23There's no reason to think that the Nats are going to rally behind him here in any way,
12:27shape, or form.
12:27The Calvary and the help is on the way there.
12:31You would figure for Houston, those big bats get back in the lineup, certainly going to help you out.
12:34But as I was talking about Mackenzie Gore, his last 45 days, Joe, 36 in the third innings pitch.
12:39How about a 4.95 ERA and a 5.19 worst on the card XFIP number?
12:44Take a look at his last 30 days, 86 batters that he's faced.
12:47How about a K rate here of only 17%, a walk rate of 16%, a weighted on base percentage of 347,
12:54and a fly ball rate of around 40%, which means those balls flying out, hard hit contact,
13:00have a chance to leave the yard.
13:01Some of those batters that you might like in the lineup today,
13:04Yannir Diaz in the middle of that lineup as a right-handed batter,
13:06a 350 ISO power number over the past 30 days in Major League Baseball.
13:10Looking at Ryan Gusto, he can't get lefties out.
13:13By the way, there's a couple lefties on that Washington team.
13:16If you say, you know what, forget about what those lefties do at the plate.
13:19You just like the lefty matchup.
13:20Anticipated lineup today in this early afternoon game for Washington, Joe.
13:23Abrams lefty, Wood lefty, Garcia lefty, Bell lefty, Lowe lefty, Lyle lefty.
13:30So that's six out of the nine from the left-handed spot,
13:32which is exactly how you get the Gusto.
13:34Could we have a sneak, like, we don't like these lineups,
13:37but we don't like these pitchers either all that much.
13:39Maybe a sneaky total here, possibly?
13:42It can be.
13:43But, you know, again, that Washington bullpen is a mess,
13:47and they can't be trusted.
13:49So if I'm looking at the over, I'm hoping Houston gets to Gore early.
13:55Gore moves on.
13:56That bullpen gets in, and I got myself a lot of runs coming
13:59in the second half of this game.
14:02Smokes them up at that point here, because you're looking at wins in every –
14:05these wins in the late – oh, look, you know, excuse me, late July.
14:08Count the same as August.
14:09And late September, so you might as well rack them up when you get them.
14:11If you take a look at the Houston Astros in that game, needing a victory.
14:15Why?
14:15Four games ahead of the Mariners, five games ahead of the Texas Rangers.
14:18And that lost two games in a row.
14:20The Rangers were red hot.
14:21Maybe they can find their level here for Houston
14:23and get a little bit healthier here, as it turns out.
14:26One team not playing good baseball right now after playing really good baseball,
14:30that's the Toronto Blue Jays.
14:32Yes, they have 63 wins on the season.
14:34Yes, they're up four games over the Yankees,
14:35but a bad time for a losing streak, which we're in now.
14:38We're going to handicap their game next.
14:39Maybe a win today.
14:40We'll find out.
14:42No doubleheader today, Joe Ranieri, but an early start in Baltimore.
14:45And by the way, getting out of town, travel day.
14:48And Toronto wants out of here in the worst way.
14:50They just can't get a win.
14:52Four straight losses for Toronto.
14:54Still in command of the AL East, but, boy, they could have stretched that lead out.
14:57It's going to be Barrios today versus Kramer.
14:59And if we look at that total, tens across the border.
15:02Heat and humidity.
15:04And the hot bats of Baltimore, not Toronto, providing that offense today.
15:09A minus 110 split, depending on where you're shopping at right now.
15:12Coming in the series, I'm like, ooh, I love Toronto.
15:15Leaving the series, ooh, I don't know if I like Toronto anymore, Joe.
15:19Yeah.
15:20Listen, they've kind of been sleepwalking here a little bit, haven't they, Donnie,
15:25coming into this series?
15:26Now they've got a four-and-a-half-game lead in the American League East.
15:30And we knew, listen, they weren't going to win every game.
15:34But they have righted the ship enough, I think, that at this price, and trying to avoid with
15:41Jose Barrios on the mound, who's been pretty decent.
15:45I like him better than I like Dean Kramer.
15:46I think there's a good opportunity here at this price to buy a little bit lower on Toronto,
15:53which is kind of crazy when you think about it.
15:55But Baltimore has won five straight, and they're healthier than they've been in a very long time.
16:00But I'll ask you this, Donnie.
16:02There is still a lot of rumors and questions about Baltimore pitchers and players that could
16:08very well be dealt here over the next 24 hours.
16:11So a lot of question marks with Baltimore, they're playing good, but at this price,
16:16how do you not back the Blue Jays?
16:18You're right about that.
16:19Sooner than later, you have to start to provide those statistics.
16:22Because you still look on a day-to-day basis against right-handed pitching, man.
16:24Toronto absolutely rakes.
16:26Luke, Springer, Guerrero, Bichette, Barger, Clement, take a look at Lou Profito, Heinemann,
16:31even, like, you have one batter, which is Ernie Clement, under par, let's just say,
16:35with ISO and weighted on base percentages against righties.
16:37Everybody else, sky high.
16:38Yesterday, I'm like, oh, that game number one looks really good.
16:41It's heat and humidity.
16:41They got four runs.
16:42I needed five runs.
16:43It doesn't even matter.
16:44They got killed in game number one.
16:46And then the bats didn't even show up in game number two in a 3-2 loss.
16:49So I'm with you on that.
16:5093-degree temperatures, Joe.
16:52Once again, early start, wind blowing at the left field.
16:55There should be runs in this game, and Toronto should be able to bounce back.
16:59Can they?
16:59Or does that certainly losing streak extend out to five games?
17:03We'll see.
17:04That's a 12 o'clock start right off of the bat here.
17:06Next game up on the docket here, Boston and Minnesota.
17:09Baio's on the mound versus Matthews.
17:11A slight favorite here towards Minnesota.
17:12Overnight, around a 135 price.
17:14Now we're taking a look at the minus-122s, the minus-120s here,
17:18with money coming back in on going in.
17:20Excuse me, money coming back in here on Boston.
17:22Baio versus Matthews.
17:24Where do we sit in this game?
17:25About an eight total.
17:26Another early start in Minnesota.
17:27Yeah, and, you know, it's good for Minnesota.
17:31They got Zebby Matthews back.
17:33He was shelved a little bit.
17:34The guy is an absolute strikeout machine.
17:37The guy has been absolutely crazy right now.
17:42I did see, I believe, his total strikeout prop at five and a half, I think, somewhere in that ballpark overnight.
17:49And we've got a Red Sox team that doesn't exactly, everything's not exactly contact against righties.
17:58They're better against lefties, but at righties, especially over the last couple of weeks, you know,
18:03we've got a 25-26 percentage strikeout rate right now against righties.
18:07And, Noel, this is a big righty who can blow the ball by them.
18:12I like Zebby Matthews.
18:13I like that strikeout price up and over five and a half against this Red Sox team.
18:18Interesting to see how this one plays out, too.
18:1977-degree temperatures, double-digit wind blowing in.
18:22And if you like some of those bats for the Boston Red Sox, Duran's got some decent statistics against right-handed pitching.
18:28Same thing with Will, you're a brave.
18:29Some good contact numbers.
18:30We'll find out how that plays out.
18:31But always interesting, too, like, you know, Zebby's back on the mound.
18:34He even had a thought process here that Bailey Ober was back on the mound today.
18:38But I do have Matthews listed there in that 110 starts.
18:40So, way you go.
18:41So, Ober must be coming back closer and closer to getting back with his team at this point.
18:45Now, let's move on to the next game.
18:47And that's the Yankees.
18:47The Tampa Bay Rays in town.
18:49Once again, Zach Littell's on the mound versus Will Warren.
18:51A favorite here for the Yankees that opened up overnight around a minus 150 or so price.
18:56Now we're seeing this dip down around that minus 140 number, a nine across the board.
19:00If we take a look, total-wise, weather, 88 degrees at first pitch, light wind blowing at the left field.
19:06A night start tonight for those New York Yankees taking on the Tampa Bay Rays, Joe.
19:11Yeah, and why would we look at anything else than what we looked at yesterday?
19:15Give me the over here.
19:19I got no problem with it.
19:20We said it last night.
19:21We couldn't understand the $2 mark on the Yankees yesterday with Max Fried, who hadn't exactly been great.
19:29Big effort by him last night through 111 pitches, I think, until the seventh inning.
19:34You can tell the Yankees were serious about getting one back last night.
19:39Now you got Will Warren and Little.
19:40Well, to me, with these temperatures and the wind blowing out, I am – and that bullpen in New York almost blew it again last night with Devin Williams.
19:49Give me the over.
19:50I don't see why we'd look at any sort of under in this series here.
19:54Yeah, and again, when you have those heat and humidity conditions here, which is what we wait for in Yankee Stadium, use them to your advantage.
20:00You know, look at Grisham, Bellinger, Stanton, Chisholm, Dominguez, McMahon, and also Austin Wells, all really good numbers against right-handed pitchers.
20:08And Zach Littell, not a great pitcher by any stretch.
20:10If we're lining him up his last 45 days, a 3.46 ERA, which is good, slightly higher exit number, 4.16.
20:17And maybe he's used to pitching the heat and humidity in bad ballparks because it's not as if, Joe, you go on the road to Yankee Stadium,
20:22and then when you go home, you turn around and be like, hey, this thing looks exactly like Yankee Stadium, just not the stadiums around us.
20:28So these, like, home and away is actually home and home for both of these teams because they play in the same ballpark,
20:33just in different states at that point, the way the dimensions are absolutely laid out.
20:37But Littell, not a strikeout guy, and that's usually the first way that you get yourself damaged in Major League Baseball.
20:42Looking at Will Warren, his last 116 batters he's faced, he has struggled here mightily with left-handed batters.
20:48You look at the left-handed batters today, Simpson's a lefty, Lau is a lefty, Aranda's a lefty,
20:53Lowe is a lefty.
20:54Ooh, they got a lot, by the way, a lot of lefties here.
20:56But I should say this, the only right-handers in the lineup tonight, Yandy Diaz and Junior Camonero.
21:02So that means we could have seven left-handed batters in the lineup, which is something that Will Warren does struggle with.
21:07Ooh, sneaky team total if it doesn't pop off the page free right there for the Rays, Joe.
21:12Yeah, well, and don't forget, Zach, he's got a bit of a home run problem this year.
21:17You mentioned it, not a lot of strikeouts, fly balls.
21:20That is not a great recipe for success at Yankee Stadium in a hot, humid day with the wind blowing out.
21:28My goodness here.
21:29We might get some runs today.
21:30Love to see it.
21:30There are some seven-and-a-halves out there, eights in other games, but there are those nine-and-a-halves and tens creeping in,
21:36just like the game we just talked about, Toronto, Baltimore, a 10 down there, heat and humidity in the Charm City.
21:41The next thing we're going to go to here after the break, that's going to be Texas and Los Angeles.
21:45That's the Angels here.
21:47Nathan Phil Valde has to be the stopper today because you don't want to see a losing streak
21:51when you're finally starting to climb back into the race in the AL West here.
21:55More Major League Baseball talk next as we shut it down on the early line right here on the Sports Grid Network.
22:01Get your Major League Baseball, Phil, right here on the Sports Grid Network, Series 6 and Channel 159,
22:06and get it on a Wednesday, which is hump day, because tomorrow, a very light card.
22:11But then again, we got the pristine uniforms of the Los Angeles Chargers taking on the old throwback uniforms of the Detroit Lions.
22:19It's going to be beautiful on your 4K screen tomorrow night as the NFL does return.
22:24And also, there's something called the Major League Baseball trade deadline.
22:28But before we get there, one more game to take a look at today.
22:30That's the Angels and the Texas Rangers, Joe, out there in Los Angeles.
22:34Need a win for those Rangers.
22:35They go to their ace, Nathan Eovaldi, on the mound.
22:38Minus 125s, minus 130s in the landscape right now.
22:41A total that's listed at 8 to 8.5, depending on where you're shopping at.
22:44Eovaldi versus Soriano.
22:47Do the Rangers get back off the mat and claim a W today out there in Anaheim?
22:51Yeah, they might have to do something.
22:53You don't want to go ahead.
22:54You had such great momentum, and now you've got your ace on the mound.
22:58And Soriano, listen, has been the, you know, de facto ace of the Angels.
23:03Kikuchi seems to be running out of steam.
23:05We saw him get beat up a little bit yesterday.
23:08But, yeah, I still like what Eovaldi brings to the table here.
23:13I think this is going to be maybe a little bit lower scoring early in this game.
23:18So, I like the pitching matchup for both these teams.
23:22But I like the Rangers pitching matchup better.
23:25So, I'm going to go with Eovaldi and the Rangers in the first five in this one.
23:30I think they got a pretty good shot of getting out and playing from in front against Soriano.
23:35By the way, also, I do think that under makes a lot of sense.
23:38Soriano's last 45 days here, 46 in the third innings pitch.
23:41How about a .366 ERA, a .326 XFIP number, and the last 122 batters faced.
23:46He doesn't allow all that much hard contact.
23:48It's, should I say, powerful contact.
23:50He's a ground ball pitcher.
23:51So, if you're looking for home runs, probably not your guy.
23:53I think I'm going to be with you here on a little sneaky under.
23:55Because Nathan Eovaldi should certainly do some damage on the opposite side as well.
23:59But now is the time.
24:00We like to end the show.
24:00Have a little bit of fun.
24:02And before we go, it's bye, bye, bye.
24:04Bye, bye, bye.
24:10Ah, wow.
24:11Did you hear that voice, Joe and Eric?
24:13Did you hear that nice singing voice?
24:14Did you hear that nice singing voice actually is?
24:18Yeah.
24:19I don't know.
24:19I hope I can still have kids after listening to it, though.
24:22How's that, buddy?
24:23My goodness.
24:23That was...
24:24Who do you got today, Joe?
24:27What do you got over there?
24:28I am...
24:29I'm going afternoon baseball, and I am looking for a bounce back here by Logan Webb and the
24:35Giants.
24:36He is...
24:37Well, he's had a couple of rough outings in July here.
24:41Seems to have run out of steam a little bit.
24:43But there is no mistaking, Logan Webb is always better at home than he is on the road.
24:50And I can't think of a better lineup to go up against against this Pirates in order to get
24:55back on track here.
24:58I don't like the Giants offense.
25:00You and I both know that.
25:02So instead of worrying about bullpens getting involved, I like the under.
25:06I think Webb shuts down this Pirates offense.
25:09I think Burrow's the rookie here for Pittsburgh.
25:12He has actually pitched kind of well, as there's no reason to expect that we're going to get some
25:17sort of big run scoring affair here.
25:21First five under four for me in this one.
25:24Ah, I like where you're going there yesterday.
25:26Let me down.
25:27I needed one more run out of the San Francisco Giants to cash a ticket.
25:30Of course, they only scored one run against Bailey Falter yesterday.
25:34For me, as I take a look at my best bet of the night here, it's going to be sneaky.
25:37The Atlanta Braves, I want to buy them when they're down.
25:39I want to buy them when Ronald Acuna's not in the lineup and nobody's looking in the direction.
25:43Why?
25:43It's 92 degrees at first pitch today in Kansas City.
25:46It's hitting weather.
25:47The wind is blowing out to center field.
25:49But Angel Zerpa is on the mound of left-handed pitcher.
25:53He might go one or two innings.
25:54You know who's coming in behind him?
25:55A guy by the name of Thomas Hatch to throw multiple innings, one, two, or three here.
26:00Both of these teams, not necessarily in the playoff hunt.
26:02Hint, hint.
26:03Atlanta's been really bad.
26:04But if I look at this lineup, Profar, Riley, Murphy, Ozuna, Harris, White against left-handed pitchers to open the game here, pretty good statistics.
26:13I'm going to take a team total with the Atlanta Braves over four and a half at a minus 110 price.
26:18Sometimes you've got to be a little bit contrarian.
26:20Oh, we only want the best teams that score runs every night.
26:23Give me a team without Acuna.
26:25Nobody's looking.
26:26Bullpen game.
26:27Sting me for five in that game.
26:28Don't care if the Braves win and get beat 12 to five, Joe.
26:31Just give me the five out of the Atlanta Braves, and we'll live with that tonight.
26:34A little contrarian action for the people out there.
26:37I like that because you know what's happening, Donnie.
26:39They're all going to be running the other way, and I like the look here.
26:43I like the idea, and they still have, let's face it, some guys that can hit the ball in that lineup.
26:49Exactly.
26:50Correct me if I'm wrong.
26:51Didn't you buy in and say, hey, look, I don't care what that line was yesterday for Kansas City.
26:54I'm taking them.
26:54Kansas City got the dub yesterday for you, Joe.
26:57Yes, that's correct.
26:58Seth Lugo earning that extension, pitched very, very well yesterday for the Royals, and they held on to win.
27:04Very good.
