00:02The story repeats what happened at the end of the last issue lazily,

00:08and Shadow's punch goes through Black Doom, causing him to warp away in a flash of light.

00:13Maria hopes Shadow's okay, and Shadow stupidly tells her to stay close

00:18instead of telling her to run away and keep a good distance from him

00:21so she wouldn't get caught in the crossfire of a fight.

00:25Implying that if she did get brought back to life,

00:27Eggman might just kill her by accident if she's hanging out with him on his missions for no reason.

00:33Missions, that's right.

00:34Shadow working for Gunn had him going on missions,

00:37which is exactly what the Freedom Fighters called their Fighting Eggman.

00:42Black Doom's so arrogant, he thinks he knows everything about someone

00:46that he didn't watch grow up every hour of the day since he was gone.

00:52I hate that so many pages are being wasted on Black Doom

00:56telling Shadow something he and we already know.

01:00And if this is why he got total amnesia, it wasn't worth it.

01:04This issue looks empty so far.

01:07Black Doom was smart enough to assume that Gerald had other intentions than weapon development,

01:12even though Gerald never would have told him that.

01:15And he would have assumed Gerald's afraid attitude around him was from his looks.

01:19Black Doom talks about the history of game Shadow,

01:23which is thankfully written to confuse Shadow.

01:26How does Black Doom even know Shadow slept for 50 years straight anyways?

01:32He would have had to have intentionally looked into parts of his memory

01:36that he wouldn't need to to find that out.

01:39Let alone to know everything about him.

01:42Sure, he showed Shadow one memory in his game.

01:44That was just a memory he wanted to look at.

01:48It's not like he knows everything about him, favorite food included.

01:52This is an adaptation of a game, but it's not identical to its plot.

01:56So it's not representing the plot of the game, but in comic form.

02:00So it's another universe.

02:01So there's no point in having events in its past

02:05that coincidentally are identical to the games.

02:09It shows no self-awareness and thought about what this is.

02:13It's clearly unnecessary for the story to say that this Black Doom

02:16already fought a version of Shadow.

02:19There's nothing good about this.

02:22I didn't expect that, so no one would have cared if he didn't write that.

02:26All this accomplishes is wasting our time.

02:30Black Doom says he wants to completely restore his body.

02:35If he means his and not this, why didn't he say his?

02:39To achieve that, he needed Shadow's power to connect with him,

02:44despite him being in another universe.

02:47He says he manipulated Shadow's memory

02:49to make it as if his cells were behind the arc raid.

02:53So he comes to hate everything.

02:55But that would make him only hate the Black Arms.

02:59Making him have an evil plan

03:01just because he's a villain without thinking it through.

03:04would people actually think this manga's amazing?

03:07He says all his other memories were erased,

03:10while the stupid artist draws a bunch of characters

03:13that this Shadow never met.

03:15This is so off-putting,

03:17because we've been following Shadow since issue 1.

03:20He experienced all that stuff for real.

03:23It wasn't just a flashback he was remembering wrong 50 years later.

03:27He experienced stuff other than just the arc raid.

03:30Why would Black Doom have bothered having the stuff before that get remembered?

03:36And it's explained that Bug Eye was created by Black Doom

03:39to make him absorb the orbs.

03:41So why did Shadow have to intimidate him

03:43into telling him how to grant a wish by finding the orbs?

03:47Why didn't he tell him that right away?

03:50He didn't want to tell him how to get the orbs at first

03:53because he wasn't asking nicely

03:54and trying to escape from him.

03:56which doesn't come off like he had a mission.

04:01So if he was so spiteful,

04:02he should have tricked him right away because of that.

04:05This is so convoluted.

04:07It's just to use the trope of betrayal.

04:11Black Doom shouldn't have come back.

04:13He wasn't meant to.

04:15If Black Doom can manipulate people's memories,

04:18why didn't he change Shadow's memories

04:19in Shadow the Hedgehog

04:21to get him to be on his side

04:22at the instant he saw him?

04:24So this can't be canon to the games,

04:26which makes it stupid that it claims that in the past

04:28a version of Shadow defeated him.

04:31Because he never would have.

04:33This is way too OP of power for a villain.

04:36When you make a villain overpowered,

04:37it's impossible to make him lose

04:39and have it be natural.

04:40So some powers shouldn't even be given to villains in fiction.

04:44How would anyone think this is canon?

04:46People realize that Prime isn't canon

04:49because it contradicts the games.

04:52Oh, this is canon just because they said it was canon.

04:56Once again, nobody is given thought bubbles

04:58that acknowledge his stupidity

05:00so we know it's on purpose.

05:03For a guy who just does something to kick the dog,

05:05he doesn't even tell Shadow about those people

05:07he thinks he made him forget.

05:10What's the point of giving him almost amnesia

05:13if he's not even going to brag about it?

05:15It's just a minor annoyance to him

05:17because he doesn't know what he's missing.

05:20Black Doom says that because of the power Shadow got from the orbs,

05:24his power to connect with him is coming back.

05:27Why'd it take so long?

05:29He also damages the city buildings

05:31in a dimension that's almost completely devoid of people anyways

05:34just to try to look cool.

05:36Why does he think he has to try so hard

05:38when he should know he's powerful?

05:41He's no different than Infinite here.

05:43He says he just has to absorb Shadow and be fully restored

05:47as Shadow and Maria had run far enough away

05:50that they wouldn't be hurt by the falling buildings

05:52that are as close to him as they used to be.

05:55Somehow, he can only absorb Shadow

05:57if there's enough hatred in him.

06:00So why doesn't this moron manipulate his memories even more?

06:04He could have gone ridiculously over the top,

06:07put Maria through even more stuff than in the game.

06:10And yeah, he couldn't have it because he'd get an M rating,

06:13but that's why the story shouldn't have given him this power

06:17for literally no reason other than

06:19wouldn't it be cool if

06:20he already had gotten Shadow to the point of saying

06:23he'll kill all of the soldiers around him earlier?

06:26Then why didn't they put him through that experience

06:28to make him feel that way

06:29only after he made sure he collected the orbs?

06:31Boga is happy at this point somehow,

06:34despite saying that he's waiting to be absorbed or erased.

06:37Doesn't he mean absorbed and erased?

06:40It's redundant.

06:42I assume when he's trying to smile here,

06:44it's a Stepford smile.

06:46But it makes no sense that he'd even try to smile here.

06:50Why doesn't he flee to try to save himself?

06:53He has literally nothing to gain by just staying here.

06:57Maria says that because he tricked Shadow,

06:59she got to see the outside of the arc.

07:02And she doesn't say again.

07:05And she thanks him for it.

07:07Which confuses him.

07:09Somehow Black Doom is talking

07:10as if he just now got the idea

07:12to try to kill Maria to upset Shadow.

07:15What a moron.

07:17He could have just attacked right away.

07:20He had literally no reason to volunteer

07:21so much information to him at the start.

07:25Boga saves Maria

07:26because the writer assumes

07:27that the audience grew to attach to this weird OC

07:30who never looked or acted like a Sonic character

07:32or even a character from another furry franchise

07:35to the point where him actually being evil along

07:38would be too much for them to handle.

07:41Boga says he got jealous of Shadow

07:42for wanting to work so hard for someone else.

07:45So eventually Black Doom kills him

07:48and says he knew he'd be of no use

07:50even though he's the reason Shadow knew

07:52to get the three orbs for him.

07:55Because again, he doesn't make any sense.

07:57He's literally just acting because of sadism.

08:00Which makes it confusing that he isn't sadistic enough.

08:04It's almost like he's just being portrayed

08:06like a chess piece instead of a character.

08:09He tries to absorb Shadow

08:10and says he can't erase Maria.

08:13I guess he's talking as if she's a memory

08:15but that's not even knowing what words mean.

08:18A memory is something created by the synapses in the brain

08:20and it's a bunch of zeros and ones

08:22from all the electricity.

08:24Because of her convenient plot armor

08:26because the writer wrote himself into a corner

08:28Maria can take a long time

08:30talking Shadow out of it.

08:33Eventually a part of the city building

08:34gets damaged and she falls

08:36but Shadow catches her

08:38and she's not hurt

08:40so she must not have been falling for very long.

08:43Well that was convenient.

08:44And the story ends there.

08:47This was a convoluted disaster

08:48where Black Doom had no reason to bore me

08:51doing all of that talking to Shadow

08:53as if he was somehow game Shadow

08:54and telling me stuff I already know.

08:57He would have just tried to absorb the power right away.

09:00It would have been a better villain moment

09:02for him to skip right to trying to kill Maria

09:04and absorb him.

09:05Because it would be meaner

09:06instead of trying to explain things

09:08to him for the sake of politeness.

09:10It doesn't come off as I'm just explaining it

09:12because he wants to brag and be sadistic.

09:15Because he's not acting

09:16incredibly emotional about it.

09:20Of course it's impossible to even

09:21tell what emotion he has in the first place.

09:25It's confusing and convoluted

09:27to have Black Doom lying

09:28that he manipulated Shadow's memory of the Ark.

09:31Even though when Game Shadow went through what he did

09:33he did hate everything.

09:35And it just makes him look like an idiot

09:36because hating everything

09:38caused him to try to kill everybody on Earth

09:40until the Black Arms would have nothing to eat.

09:44Granted he had no idea

09:45the Eclipse Cannon was a thing.

09:47But still

09:48in a meta sense

09:49it makes him look like an idiot.

09:52And the manga started out on the Ark

09:53at a time that was much earlier

09:55than the Ark raid.

09:56When all Black Doom needed to do

09:58for a certain definition of needed

10:00was to make Shadow relive the Ark raid

10:03and falling to Earth.

10:05But he doesn't even need to do that.

10:07Just summon Maria.

10:10This writing shouldn't try to be

10:11as complicated as possible

10:12when the writer didn't think

10:13any of it through.

10:15This is as confusing

10:16as the most confusing moments

10:17of Sonic alive.

10:19And in this one

10:20I can't even say the story

10:21wouldn't be confusing

10:22most of the time

10:23if the story was told

10:24in the proper order chronologically

10:26from start to finish.

10:29Why does he even bother

10:30making him have anything in common

10:32with the past of the Game Shadow

10:33when Omega, Rouge, and Sonic

10:35aren't going to show up

10:36in the manga this time.

10:38So this isn't Game Shadow.

10:40This would only be canon

10:41by being an alternate universe.

10:44It's like the writer thinks

10:45we'll only respect the manga

10:46if we think this is Game Shadow.

10:48The only good twist

10:49this writer is capable of

10:51is making Bogeye

10:52turn on the bad guy

10:53to save Maria.
