00:01Previously on Project Runway All-Stars.
00:05Please welcome to the Runway, Mark Badgley and James Mischka.
00:09We want you to design a glamorous, gorgeous evening gown.
00:13But you have just one day to turn it around.
00:17No, I don't want the red no more. Somebody else is doing f***ing red.
00:20Who the f*** cares? If you want to do red, do f***ing red.
00:23I don't consider myself a gown designer.
00:25Oh, why did I just do that?
00:27I guess I'm just praying it works.
00:29This is your favorite thing. Everybody's watching you.
00:31I just really want to make sure that I do the best I can.
00:36I love the new context for white.
00:38She's certainly not going home alone in that dress.
00:40You definitely know how to cut a beautiful dress. It looks fresh and classic.
00:44Congratulations, Austin. You're the winner of this challenge.
00:47Thank you very, very much.
00:49I really thought ball gown.
00:51I get more like sort of prom dress from this.
00:54It looks like a dirndl skirt.
00:55Sweet Pea, you're out.
00:5713 of the best designers from Project Runway are back.
01:02And this time the competition is tougher than ever.
01:06Each week their skills are tested to the limit as they compete for the biggest prize in runway history.
01:13Who will be cut and who will have it all sewn up?
01:16This is Project Runway All-Stars.
01:21The winner of Project Runway All-Stars will sell their merchandise within an exclusive boutique at select Neiman Marcus stores and on Neiman Marcus dot com.
01:29The winner will also get a spread in Mary Claire magazine in a position as guest editor for one year.
01:34$100,000 in technology and office space from HP and Intel.
01:38A sewing and embroidery studio provided by Brother International.
01:42And a cash prize of $100,000 courtesy of L'Oreal Paris.
01:47Hi, designers.
02:01Hi.
02:02This week we want you to create a flamboyant cocktail dress for one of the most famous fashionistas in the world.
02:11This international celebrity turns heads wherever she goes.
02:16She's had everyone from Burberry to Prada designed exclusively for her.
02:22And you could be next.
02:24So we're all being like Madonna, Cher, Lady Gaga.
02:29And the name of this demanding diva is...
02:37Miss Piggy!
02:40Oh my God!
02:42I love it!
02:44I love the Muppets!
02:46Miss Piggy.
02:47My nieces are gonna flip.
02:50I'm thrilled.
02:51I think that's awesome.
02:52I'm really excited.
02:54Miss Piggy is starring in the new movie, The Muppets.
02:57And she's looking to you for a headline-making cocktail dress to wear while promoting the film.
03:03At this point, Project Runway All-Stars, they are really pulling out the talent from our toenails, honey.
03:09They're pulling it from the feet on up.
03:12I'm going to get the designer dress for a Muppet.
03:15The winning designer's cocktail dress will be modified for Miss Piggy's figure.
03:20Oh, thank you.
03:21And...
03:23Miss Piggy herself will be here live in the judge's chair.
03:31I'm so excited to meet her.
03:33She's like fashion's dream client.
03:36You guys better impress her because you know she is going to have an opinion.
03:39So you have $150, a trip to Mood, and the rest of the day to get it together.
03:48So good luck and we'll see you on the runway.
03:50Bye.
03:51Bye.
03:52Bye.
03:53Bye.
04:03Knowing that Miss Piggy has had well-known designers like Marc Jacobs, Prada, Burberry, designed for her, I feel like, well, they wouldn't do anything too silly and costumey.
04:16So I want to see Miss Piggy do a 60s mod thing.
04:21I love Miss Piggy.
04:23I grew up watching the cartoon and I saw the movies and I love her.
04:27She's awesome.
04:28She reminds me of myself.
04:31She's just got this, like, va-va-voom about her.
04:35This is really cool.
04:36Miss Piggy, I mean, I have a seven-year-old.
04:39He loves the Muppet babies.
04:40I love the Muppet babies.
04:42I'm going to make her something fabulous.
04:44Let's go.
04:46Every designer, of course, has a different method of working.
04:55I usually have an idea of what I'm looking for.
04:59It's pink.
05:00I definitely thought that I would create something with this pink bow concept.
05:05A lot of people I see are buying black.
05:08Me and Austin are having, like, some pink to it.
05:12I need to buy about six yards of this.
05:14But why not wearing pink if she's pink?
05:17Pink is a happy color.
05:19We got one minute.
05:20You think it's a game?
05:21Let's go.
05:23Oh, my God.
05:24It's sort of like a marathon, really.
05:25You're just running and grabbing, running and grabbing.
05:28Excuse me.
05:30Hey, guys.
05:31Time's up.
05:32Get in line.
05:33I am excited to see what everyone comes up with.
05:37I think we're all having so much fun with this challenge.
05:40All right, Moo.
05:41I'm going to holler at you.
05:43Thank you, guys.
05:52It seems to me like a lot of the designers are doing structure.
05:57But to stay true to my own vision of designing, I decided to do what it is, really, that's me.
06:06And I am more about youthful and free-flowing and showing the feminine side of a woman.
06:12And I think that's what Miss Piggy brings to a lot of people.
06:19Jordana's dress is really, really beautiful.
06:21I think it's quiet and soft.
06:23But I don't think it fits this challenge.
06:25And I don't feel like it gives enough of a statement.
06:33I definitely am competitive.
06:35And I want to win.
06:37And I want to get to the grand prize.
06:39The mood in the workroom is quite serious.
06:44Everyone is starting to feel that.
06:46The pressure is on.
06:48Ugh.
06:49Hey, Rami.
06:50Yeah?
06:51What size were those purple shoes up there?
06:52You know?
06:53Like, they're 10?
06:55Can I just claim one thing?
06:56I want those pink gloves.
06:57I just have pink gloves.
06:59I went up to the stunning Neiman Marcus accessory wall.
07:02And Mondo wanted the same pink gloves as me.
07:05Can I just claim one thing?
07:07Can I just have these pink gloves?
07:08Oh, I just said that.
07:09I was like, oh, my God.
07:11I don't feel good about that.
07:13So I was like, okay, Mondo, I'll do blue.
07:15No, whatever.
07:17She was like, do you want these gloves?
07:19And I was like, I just don't want to argue about it.
07:21Go ahead, take the damn gloves.
07:23But, you know, it's really pissing me off.
07:27Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
07:30Do you think I can sex up Miss Piggy?
07:32It's tacky.
07:33How does a pig feel about wearing a giraffe branch?
07:36Oh, my God.
07:37Oh, my God.
07:48This week's challenge, we are creating a flamboyant cocktail frock for the legendary beauty, Miss Piggy.
07:57I just really can't wait to meet Miss Piggy in person.
08:00It's going to be incredible.
08:02I have mixed feelings about it being Miss Piggy.
08:05On the one hand, I grew up with the Muppets and I love the Muppets.
08:09On the other hand, how am I going to translate my point of view into something that she would wear?
08:16Do you think I can sex up Miss Piggy?
08:21Expose some skin?
08:23Miss Piggy is so stylish.
08:25She's so sexy.
08:27She's a 21st century little fashionista.
08:31Oh, that's the cutout.
08:32I like it.
08:33I love it, too.
08:34Cute.
08:37What I'm designing for Miss Piggy is a flirty, colorful, it's a happy dress is what I would call it.
08:44I think the Miss Piggy dress that he's doing is very girly, very flirty, fun, but maybe a little safe.
08:51Why is my zipper doing the snake?
08:54Well, you were supposed to first take a seam down and then put the zipper in so that way it doesn't stretch it while you are applying it.
09:01Right, but now that we're past that Jordana.
09:05You are out of luck.
09:08Damn.
09:09My design for Miss Piggy is beautiful.
09:14I think that it has a level of sex appeal.
09:17I know Miss Piggy is always a lady, so I think we're already on the right course because I always say being a lady never goes out of style.
09:24So what are you doing?
09:25What's your plan?
09:26I know you don't like to talk, but guess what?
09:28You're my neighbor now, so you're gonna have to get used to it.
09:30Being in the bottom two last week, all I'm focusing on is doing the challenge right now.
09:34I'm not even thinking about the bottom, who's in the top, any of that crap.
09:38You know, I'm not talking to people.
09:40I'm just working away, making sure the garment's impeccable, and just really focusing on what I have to get done.
09:46I think this challenge is perfect for me.
09:50I think Miss Piggy could wear all of the stuff I've made in the past.
09:54I'm definitely gonna incorporate my retro style.
09:57I mean, I have a full circle skirt and an animal print.
10:02You like it?
10:03It looks gorgeous.
10:04She loves animal prints, too.
10:05Yeah, she likes animal prints.
10:06She does love animal prints.
10:08There are some people in the workroom who seem very, very needy for others' opinions all the time,
10:14and I'm just not like that.
10:16I mean, this is a competition, after all.
10:18Just heat it and see if you can bend it.
10:20It might work.
10:25Hi, designers.
10:26Hi.
10:27I'm back, and what a fabulous challenge.
10:31I think this is possibly one of the best challenges in the history of Project Runway,
10:35and I can't wait to see what you're all gonna do.
10:38Joanna Coles, I really, really do appreciate her.
10:42I think she just has the knowledge and a sophistication about herself that she really lends to her critique.
10:49Jordana, hello.
10:50Hi.
10:51So talk to me about this.
10:52I wanted to present her in a more youthful way, because I have noticed in pictures that she has really pretty legs.
10:59So I want to show off her legs.
11:01Right.
11:02I am designing a short dress that has a lot of movement, is chic and flirty and girly and happy.
11:12It's almost like carefree.
11:13I know you haven't finished yet.
11:15I'm getting a bit of a nightgown vibe from this.
11:18Really?
11:19What's it gonna take for you to translate this to a cocktail dress?
11:22Well, once, like, when I do my hams, I stretch them.
11:26That gives it a really nice finished look.
11:28This is going to be so comfortable for her.
11:30I mean, the thing I have learned from shooting celebrities for the cover of the magazine
11:34is sometimes, you know, they wear double spanks, they'll wear saran wrap if it means they can get into a dress.
11:40I don't think comfort when you're dressing a mega-celebrity like Miss Piggy should really matter.
11:46Yeah.
11:47Make sure that Jordana's dress stands out.
11:49I'm hoping.
11:50I'm hoping.
11:51Yeah.
11:52All right, good luck.
11:55Mila, hello.
11:56Hi, Joanna.
11:57Now, this is a wonderful detail.
12:00Loving that.
12:01It looks great.
12:02It's a little peekaboo.
12:03It's kind of sexy, but still demure.
12:05And I'm trying to make her very, like, a little bit mod, 60s, and kind of classy.
12:12Tell me a little bit about the hair.
12:14I'm gonna try to make a sort of a headband.
12:16Don't forget she has two big ears.
12:18Oh, yes.
12:19I mean, they really do sort of pop up here like this.
12:23So with a headband, be careful.
12:24I mean, I don't want her not to be able to hear.
12:27Mila's aesthetic really is so sort of severe.
12:31That I'm concerned whether or not she will be able to bring the humor and whimsy to Miss Piggy's dress.
12:38All right.
12:39Good luck.
12:40I can't wait to see her in it.
12:41All right.
12:43So you're a girly girl.
12:44Miss Piggy is a girly girl.
12:45Yeah.
12:46This should be a perfect challenge for you.
12:47I love it.
12:48I can't wait.
12:49How does a pig feel about wearing a giraffe print?
12:51Oh my gosh.
12:52Well, she likes wearing leopard.
12:54True.
12:55I've seen her in a lot of leopard.
12:57She loves leopard.
12:58Right.
12:59Isn't that funny?
13:00That's a good point.
13:01Okay.
13:02So, good luck.
13:04Austin.
13:05Hi.
13:06Hi, Joanna.
13:07How excited are you to have the opportunity to meet Miss Piggy?
13:11Thrilled.
13:12As long as I can remember she's been an inspiration.
13:15I feel I do really understand Miss Piggy.
13:17I feel that in many ways we are kindred spirits.
13:20You know, I myself like to pepper my conversation with little French phrases the same way Miss Piggy does.
13:26Sometimes I refer to myself as moi.
13:28Okay, show me what you're planning to do with this.
13:30Where does it go?
13:31Does it go down?
13:32Does it go up?
13:33So, this goes there.
13:34Mm-hmm.
13:35I think really what is going to be going on is in the back will be like a gigantic kink sculptured bow.
13:40Mm-hmm.
13:41It will actually sort of wrap around the body as well.
13:43It will be like a multiple bow.
13:45Right, she's not going to look like she's gift wrapped.
13:47Well, she may a little bit and I think that that is sort of part of the humor and the fantasy about Miss Piggy.
13:54Good luck.
13:56This looks like it's channeling a bit of the 60s.
13:58I thought about Miss Piggy and how she brought joy to my childhood.
14:02Right.
14:03And I wanted to give her something from her childhood.
14:05I'm assuming that she was born in the 60s so I went back to the 60s.
14:08Uh-huh.
14:09And then I think I was just going to make a very architectural kind of kerchief right here.
14:13Right.
14:14And I bought some nice large covered buttons to put right there.
14:17Keep your focus for this challenge because there's a lot of competition in this room as I'm sure you've seen.
14:22All right, thank you.
14:23All right, good luck.
14:24Bye-bye.
14:25Guys, I have to go now.
14:27It's been great to see everybody again and there's so much, so much going on in this room.
14:31I'm beside myself.
14:32Don't disappoint Miss Piggy.
14:34Good luck.
14:47My model comes in and I fit a muslin sleeve on her first and it's way off.
14:53Let me tell you, sleeves are not easy.
14:55I'm feeling like this is a lot of work to get done in a very short amount of time.
15:00I think it's a fun, girly, girly dress.
15:03Michael's design looks very amateur.
15:05It looks like a princess-themed dress with some bubbles on her boob.
15:11I am going forward with my original thought of the dress.
15:14I don't have other choice.
15:15I don't have other fabrics or whatever, but in my head I feel very secure.
15:21This dress will be gorgeous.
15:23Gorgeous, darling.
15:25Sometimes people are on their A-game and sometimes they're not.
15:28And not for nothing, but you can just go in a regular department store and pick up that dress.
15:33Hey everybody, we got five minutes left.
15:36I'm not liking the way this is going at all.
15:39It looks heavy.
15:40It looks over thought.
15:42It's like really bad.
15:43I don't know what's going on tomorrow.
15:45I'm going to have to really hustle to finish it up.
15:49I like the neckline without the turquoise top.
15:54I was going to do long sleeves.
15:57Maybe I won't.
15:59I think that Cara and Kenley are becoming quite codependent actually.
16:03Get your zipper foot and just go right up and do a little ch-ch-ch.
16:06You know, I just don't understand this dynamic that they have.
16:09It's like this isn't a team competition.
16:11Only one person can win.
16:13Let's call it a night.
16:14Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
16:17I'm realizing how much work I still have left.
16:21I think this is a challenge that we would have no more Austin Scarlet.
16:24I was about to eat a piece of bacon this morning.
16:26You better not say that in front of her.
16:28What is your advice to a young good designer?
16:40We have moments of laughter from fatigue and exhaustion and pressure of course.
16:47What's your advice for them?
16:49What do you tell them?
16:50What do you tell them?
16:51Find another profession.
16:52And it's sort of like a breath of fresh air when it happens.
16:55You know what?
16:56Oprah said this on her show.
16:58When you have pledged and begged and just given everything that you've got, all you can do is surrender.
17:05But at this point, I'm just going to surrender to the atmosphere.
17:09The ceiling could fall down and I'm not going to move.
17:12I'm just going to lay there and surrender.
17:14We can all laugh at each other, which is so nice because it lets down your guard and you breathe and you laugh.
17:21And like, I don't know.
17:22We just, we formed our little family.
17:25It's the morning of the runway show and I'm nervous because I'm looking around the room and everybody seems to be creating something really interesting and unique.
17:42I'm just hoping that they can appreciate the amount of design and detail that I put into it.
17:48For once, I just would like to have it completely done the night before.
17:52I'm realizing how much work I still have left and I'm getting a little nervous.
17:57I really want to be able to tweak the skirt and all the interfacings to really create the volume and the drama in the bow.
18:03Don't worry, Miss Piggy. We'll fit it to perfection.
18:06I honestly didn't care for Austins, I'll tell you the truth.
18:09I think this is the challenge that we would have no more Austin Scarlet.
18:13You know what? I was about to eat a piece of bacon this morning and I feel so convicted.
18:17Don't, don't even.
18:19I felt so convicted.
18:20You better not say that in front of her.
18:22I already feel bad for all her children I've eaten in the past.
18:28Hi hon, how you doing? You look great.
18:31There's a lot of things I want to try on her. There's a lot of ideas that need to be resolved.
18:35So I'm just working with her. I'm sort of like playing dress up Barbie at this point.
18:39Where did my pink gloves go? And the pearl bracelet?
18:43Yes.
18:44You took the pearl bracelet too?
18:46Yes, I did.
18:47There was a whole group of my stuff.
18:48I didn't see any tags on anything.
18:51I showed Joanna the whole story yesterday.
18:57Hera and I both have the same accessories in mind.
19:00It's, you know, it's a difficult situation to be in.
19:04Looks amazing. I just, my shoes are gone now.
19:07I mean, we all want the same stuff.
19:09When you're friends with someone, you have a respect, but you also must acknowledge the fact that you are competitors.
19:15All right, Cara, this is like the second time you're stealing my accessories.
19:19I didn't steal your accessories.
19:22Look how beautiful.
19:24Kenley, that is just so beautiful.
19:25Adorable?
19:26I love it.
19:27Okay, good.
19:28So I still feel confident that I will probably win.
19:32I feel like, yeah, I feel confident.
19:36I always feel confident.
19:37I think it's a little much.
19:39Kenley did a giraffe print princess seam dress, just like the other dresses that she's already done, but just in giraffe print.
19:47My dress is coming together, so I send my model to L'Oreal hair and makeup.
19:59A little more rose on the cheek.
20:01We love what you did last time.
20:03I want the same exact look.
20:05You want to make it really matte, very clean.
20:08Let's fill in these eyebrows and make her look like a beautiful doll.
20:12A 60's sex kitten.
20:17So kind of the Veronica Lake kind of look.
20:19Yeah, Veronica Lake.
20:20Thank you, gorgeous.
20:21You guys always surprise me and amaze me.
20:26Maybe you should do like a little...
20:28Miss Piggy, her bacon's gonna sizzle when she sees my look.
20:31I kind of like that.
20:35She's just the sweetest little thing.
20:37I'm gonna meet Miss Piggy and I'm thrilled.
20:40My little girl's gonna get such a kick.
20:45Here's Miss Piggy and she's talking to mommy.
20:48Like, wow.
20:49Okay guys, let's head down to the runway.
20:52It's time to put on makeup.
20:54It's time to light the lights.
20:56It's time to get things started for Miss Piggy's dress tonight.
21:02Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
21:04This is the most garish, outlandish, ridiculous thing I have ever seen.
21:09It looks like a candy store exploded.
21:20Hello, designers.
21:21Hi.
21:22Welcome to the runway.
21:23To the runway.
21:24Well, as it's been said on Project Runway, one day you're in and the next you're out.
21:30And that's never been more true than on All Stars.
21:34This week's challenge was to create a flamboyant cocktail dress for one of the biggest stars in the world to wear while promoting her movie.
21:42Let's meet the judges.
21:45First, the designer and founder of Marquesa, the gorgeous Georgina Chapman.
21:50Hi, designers.
21:51Hi.
21:53Isaac cannot be with us today, but we have two fabulous guest judges.
21:58First is the stylist to some of the hottest names in entertainment.
22:03He won an Emmy for his work on Sex and the City.
22:06And now he's the costume designer for the uber-hip Gossip Girl, Eric Damon.
22:12Hey, guys.
22:15And last but not least, we are honored to be in the presence of a true superstar.
22:22Say hello to the legendary Miss Piggy.
22:27Nice to see everyone.
22:30We better not keep Miss Piggy waiting, so let's get started.
22:36As I see my model walking down the runway, I'm getting exactly what I wanted.
22:49There was some serious head turning in that dress.
22:53What a dress.
22:54So beautiful.
22:55So beautiful.
23:04I think that it's a great look.
23:06It's kind of got this, like, Tim Burton feel, like a cartoon almost.
23:11I think Miss Piggy will definitely appreciate it.
23:13I love my look.
23:24The color would be great on her.
23:26Miss Piggy, she's got to love it.
23:28You know, the movement's great. The colors are gorgeous.
23:40I'm happy with how it looks.
23:42I think she looks really beautiful. She looks like she could go to a party and I'm really happy with the look.
24:00Wow, what a beautiful dress. You could see some sexiness, but it's still very polished.
24:15I think Miss Piggy or any woman would enjoy the design that I've created.
24:18I think she definitely stands out in the crowd. She sets a different tone. She is vibrant, colorful, flirty, and just beautiful.
24:33It's exactly the look I was going for. And I think it's a dress that I could see on a lot of Hollywood A-listers on the red carpet.
24:48The look that I have is girly and happy and chic. And I think of all these young girls who love Miss Piggy and who would love to see her in that dress.
25:10I really feel that the aesthetic and look I was going for is achieved.
25:27I really can't tell what the judges' reactions are. I never can.
25:31Sometimes they scribble more furiously than other times, but you never know if that's good scribbling or bad scribbling.
25:40I think that this dress is really fun and flirty and it has a lot of personality.
25:57And I have no doubt in my mind that I'm going to be in the top three.
26:00If I call your name, please step forward.
26:13Austin.
26:15Rami.
26:17Jordana.
26:20Kinley.
26:22Mila.
26:24Michael.
26:26If I called your name, I have good news and bad news.
26:31The good news is three of you have the highest scores.
26:35The bad news is three of you have the lowest.
26:39The rest of you, congratulations. You're safe.
26:42Your designs will keep you in the competition and you may leave the runway.
26:45Okay, designers, let's bring out your models.
26:58So Austin, why don't you tell us about your look?
27:01I thought that the sort of combination of pink and grey was very classic Piggy.
27:06Georgina, what are your thoughts?
27:07I mean, the dress is very, you know, it's beautifully constructed.
27:10However, I do think the choice of grey and pink perhaps was just not quite the right pink.
27:16It's not reading very happy right now.
27:19And I think when you think of this thing, you think of happy.
27:22Something that I do in my profession quite a bit as a costume designer and a stylist
27:25is that we need to really consider a woman's silhouette versus a model's silhouette.
27:30The bows are really going to accentuate those hips in probably a way that don't need to be accentuated.
27:35Austin, I think that the shape of your dress is really beautiful,
27:39but something in the combination of the grey and the way it's constructed
27:43is throwing off my eye.
27:45Miss Piggy, would you like to share your thoughts on Austin's dress?
27:49Um, where to start with the bows?
27:52The bows.
27:53I'm not really sure if it's a functional dress.
27:57I mean, can you hula hoop in that?
27:59Well, actually, I think the bows would probably keep the hula hoop up, to be honest.
28:03Well, that's a good thought.
28:06Rami.
28:07Yes.
28:08Tell us about your cocktail dress.
28:10When I went into mood, I instantly gravitated towards this polka dot organza
28:16because it just was festive and I noticed that she moves a lot,
28:19so I felt like the flounce would flutter and sort of around her almost like petals of a rose.
28:25And this is what I came up with. I felt like this was my inspiration.
28:28This could be a difficult dress for the average woman to wear.
28:32Yeah, but I'm not average.
28:34Exactly.
28:35I went for it and I'm really pleased that you went for it because I think this was a real opportunity to have a lot of fun.
28:40And this dress is fun. It walked out and it made me smile and it had a little wink to it.
28:45My only criticisms would be if you're using a polka dot, it's hard when you've got seams down the front because that throws the eye a bit.
28:51Right. Right.
28:52Good job.
28:53Thank you so much.
28:54I agree. I think you had a lot of fun with it. It's a really great little fun dress.
28:58Gives me like Parisian hog couture. I really think that it's almost like...
29:01Excuse me?
29:02Parisian hog couture. I think it's perfect.
29:05That's a dig, isn't it?
29:06It was not a dig.
29:08Why would I dig it so and so lovely as you?
29:09Just be careful!
29:10What do you think, Miss Piggy?
29:12Well, I have to say that this is the most garish, outlandish, ridiculous thing I have ever seen.
29:18I love it! I love this! And it looks like a candy store exploded.
29:24Thank you so much.
29:26Jordana, tell us about your cocktail dress.
29:28First of all, I have to say that Miss Piggy, she has made my children very happy.
29:34And when I was thinking about designing dress for her, I wanted to create that happiness that she has brought.
29:43I think it's a really pretty dress.
29:44I'm just a little concerned that she's premiering a huge film, and it may be a little understated or sophisticated.
29:52To my mind, you made a very pretty cocktail dress, but then dressed it up with the gloves for Miss Piggy.
29:59And I think, to me, that's where the dress doesn't quite fit.
30:04It's a fine, fine dress. I don't know if it's moi. That's all.
30:08That's all.
30:10Michael, tell us about your cocktail dress.
30:12I was so excited when I heard it was you, Miss Piggy, who were designing a cocktail dress for her.
30:18So, I still wanted to keep her fresh, you know, looking amazing, fashion-forward, because she is a style icon.
30:25You took the project in a slightly different direction, maybe a more sophisticated direction, but I do think it still works.
30:31Can we see her do a little turn?
30:34Yeah, I like the zip in the back. I thought that was a nice detail. Very good job.
30:39You know, I love the black glove and the black hat, but because Miss Piggy loves pink so much, I would even consider maybe going pink for her.
30:47I love that dress. It looks like a present. Thank you.
30:50A present. Yes. A present for Jeremy.
30:54Aww.
30:56So, Mila, tell us about your cocktail dress for Miss Piggy.
30:59When I heard some of the caliber of designers that she was wearing, I decided to go in a more Hollywood-it-girl kind of streamline direction.
31:08Where in your dress, like, does the flamboyant aspect come in?
31:12Well, you know, I do struggle with the flamboyant adjective, because that's not really true to my point of view as a designer.
31:20I think, you know, when you're designing for the red carpet, color photographs better, and it gets picked up by more magazines, so stylists, correct me if I'm wrong, will normally go for color, because girls will get more photographic images that way.
31:37You have such great linearity and, like, the idea of graphism in your designs is really great, but you could have had a lot of fun with color on this one, and I'm sad that we didn't get to see that from you.
31:45I love that it's retro.
31:47It just doesn't scream Miss Piggy!
31:50It does not scream Miss Piggy.
31:51No.
31:52It whispers it.
31:54Ken Lee.
31:55Well, I wanted to make her demand attention when she walked into a room. I wanted it to say, this movie's gonna be fun, I'm in it, I'm fabulous.
32:06The color was great. I think it popped and it made me smile.
32:10I am a little concerned with the construction of the top. How is it constructed?
32:13Um, it's with boning, and the fabric is upholstery fabric, so it's super thick.
32:20Right.
32:21So even without boning, it'd probably hold.
32:23Right. To our eyes, I mean, to me anyway, it looks like it's stuck down, and I think that makes someone feel uncomfortable when they're looking at something that's about to just about fall out.
32:32But I think, overall, she would look great in it.
32:34I also think it's cute, it's whimsical, I love the idea of using kind of a modern-day giraffe print that's in that pink that kind of takes everyday leopard into kind of very modern twist.
32:43I think the hat is great. When you're dressing stars, you need to take into consideration things that they're sensitive about, like their ears.
32:49And I think that hat would be perfect for her.
32:51What about my ears?
32:53Well, you might have a little sensitivity with your ears, I heard.
32:55You wear hats?
32:56Yes, I do. I do. But not to hide my ears.
33:01I do love the hats, though.
33:03Oh, fabulous.
33:04Because after a big night on the town, I can just go home and use the hat to clean my pots and pans.
33:10There you go. Great.
33:12Thank you, designers.
33:13And we're gonna have a little moment to deliberate, and you can leave the runway.
33:22Well, guys, that was a pretty fun runway.
33:25Let's talk about our low scores.
33:27So let's start with Austin's dress.
33:29It was flamboyant, I guess you could say, but not flamboyant in a classy way.
33:33And I imagine that you want to look classy when you're promoting this movie.
33:37Well, naturally.
33:38The dress itself seemed a little like 90s goatee redux and just not apropos for Mademoiselle here.
33:44I did like how shiny it was.
33:46Almost futuristic.
33:48Futuristic in the way that if he was designing for Pigs in Space, I think it would have worked.
33:51Yes.
33:52The construction was good, but was it good in that fabric?
33:54What woman wants to be in tight satin and every seam shows and every wrinkle shows?
34:00But those bows!
34:02Those bows on the side!
34:04They were very unfortunate.
34:06That's a very gentle way of putting it.
34:11How about we talk about Mila's dress?
34:13This one we were a little surprised by, right?
34:15It was very retro, but it was also kind of goth.
34:18Had a little 60s mod Wednesday Addams thing going on, which I don't think is right for Miss Piggy.
34:24She is a designer and was thinking more of this dress as a piece in her collection rather than thinking about what the challenge is.
34:30I think, you know, if you're given a commission, it's your job as a designer to still keep your aesthetic but please your client.
34:38Exactly.
34:39I mean, I'd kind of like to see you in this goth dress. It could be fun.
34:43Yes, yes, maybe a good Halloween costume.
34:47I want to hear what you think about Jordana's dress.
34:50It just kind of sat there for moi.
34:52I kind of wondered, where's the rest of it?
34:54It had too much gray in it.
34:56It wasn't a happy pink.
34:57It's not going to flatter your curves.
34:59Oh.
35:03Let's talk about our top scorers.
35:05Kenley's cocktail dress.
35:07I like the shape of the bust, but I feel like the construction of it was a little dubious.
35:12I kept feeling like, is it going to pop off any second?
35:15I've never worn giraffe print before.
35:18I'm not really sure what it says.
35:20Leopard print, I understand.
35:22You know, a leopard's fierce.
35:24A giraffe, what is a giraffe?
35:26And a pink giraffe.
35:27And a pink giraffe at that.
35:31Rami.
35:32This was a very fun dress.
35:34It definitely says, hello, look at me.
35:38And you like that?
35:39Oh, of course.
35:40I love the fact that you chose this so whimsical, beautiful polka dot pattern that, you know,
35:44they could see you having a great time in the red carpet and just being beautiful and fantastic.
35:48You know, I thought given any other project, we would have been like, what is that?
35:51But in this context, I think you did a great job.
35:55So let's talk about Michael's dress.
35:59You can imagine a million girls loving that dress and including you.
36:03I think, you know, where he let himself down was in the styling.
36:06And I think, you know, where Rami really pushed the boundaries.
36:10Michael perhaps fell a little.
36:13Well, I definitely agree.
36:14I don't think black is for Miss Piggy.
36:17Yeah, I don't normally wear leather.
36:19I was just wondering how you think that little hat, that top hat, would actually work with
36:23your silhouette and your gorgeous ears, and how you would feel comfortable with that
36:27or if you think it would accentuate it in the wrong way.
36:29Eric.
36:30Eric, can you come here?
36:31Come here.
36:32I just want to button that button on your shirt.
36:35Hi-ya!
36:36Cut that out, will ya?
36:38Stop it with all the pig remarks!
36:40And my ears are just fine!
36:42Thank you very much!
36:43They are fine.
36:44I just want to help you accentuate them.
36:47Are we all in agreement?
36:49I think so.
36:50I think so.
36:51I think so.
36:52I think so.
36:53Okay, let's bring the designers back in.
37:03So one of you has the highest score and wins this week's challenge.
37:08One of you has the lowest and will be leaving us tonight.
37:22Designers, Miss Piggy, Eric, Georgina and I are all really impressed with your designs.
37:28There's a lot of humor and style in all of your work.
37:31Kenley, you're safe.
37:34You can leave the runway.
37:38Rami, Michael, you have the highest scores.
37:43Which means Miss Piggy will be wearing one of your designs to promote her movie, The Muppets.
37:51Miss Piggy, would you like to name the winning designer?
37:54I would be honored.
37:57The winning designer is someone who made a fabulous dress for a fabulous model.
38:05And that someone is...
38:11Wait for it!
38:16That someone is Michael!
38:19Yes!
38:21Congratulations, Michael.
38:23Yes!
38:24Congratulations, Michael!
38:26Awesome.
38:27Thank you, Miss Piggy.
38:29Do you have a date?
38:31Yes, I do.
38:33But thank you for asking.
38:34I am so fluttered.
38:36Maybe if you were a little bit shorter and green.
38:39All right.
38:41Michael, you can leave the runway.
38:43This was so exciting.
38:46I wasn't thinking about who's going to hate me or what's going to happen.
38:50I was just blown away.
38:52Congratulations!
38:56Oh, my God!
39:01Rami, it was a very tough competition, and we loved your dress, too.
39:05Thank you so much.
39:07Congratulations.
39:08You're safe.
39:09You can leave the runway.
39:10Pleasure meeting you.
39:13Austin.
39:15You're safe.
39:17Thank you, Austin.
39:19Thank you, Austin.
39:24Mila, Jordana, you're both great designers, but only one of you can stay.
39:29Jordana, you made a really pretty dress.
39:33And that's exactly the problem.
39:36You didn't push the envelope.
39:37Miss Piggy is always someone who stands out in a crowd.
39:42Mila, we appreciate you being true to your design point of view, but this challenge was all about celebrating your client.
39:51And your dress was just not Miss Piggy.
39:53And your dress was just not Miss Piggy.
39:58Mila, you're safe.
40:03You're safe, which means I'm sorry to say, Jordana, but you're out.
40:12Mila, thank you.
40:13We will see you next week.
40:15You can leave the runway.
40:16Jordana, thank you for being part of All Stars.
40:26No, thank you for this opportunity.
40:27This is a great honor to be here.
40:30We wish you lots of luck.
40:32Thank you so much.
40:33Thank you again.
40:34So nice to meet you.
40:36You really are an all-star, Jordana.
40:38Remember that.
40:40Thank you so much.
40:41Bye.
40:43It's like every time I get into these challenges, it's something unleashes in you and you just want to push farther.
40:49So I'm looking forward to going back home and unleashing it.
40:54Hello.
40:55Hey, are you all right?
40:56Yeah, I'm okay.
40:57The one thing that I want to say to people, especially women in my age who have given up their lives, you know, to raise their families, to send their children to college.
41:08It's never too late to follow your own dream, whatever it might be.
41:19Next on Project Runway All Stars.
41:22Please welcome Diane von Furstenberg.
41:25You only have six hours.
41:29This is the fastest challenge in Project Runway history.
41:34The whole entire room is stressing.
41:36I'm just sewing.
41:37Sewing and running.
41:38What the am I going to make in six hours?
41:41Please welcome Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr.
41:45Hi, guys.
41:46It's just all over the place.
41:48There was no passion in this dress.
41:50It's just not flattering.
41:51You know you've missed.
41:52You know you've missed.
41:53There was nothing you've missed.
42:00you know you've truly missed.
