00:01Previously on Project Runway All-Star.
00:04We want you to create a flamboyant cocktail dress
00:07for one of the most famous fashionistas in the world.
00:11Miss Piggy!
00:13Oh my God!
00:14She's like fashion's dream client.
00:17The pressure is on.
00:18I'm going to get the designer dress for a Muppet.
00:21Do you think I can sex up Miss Piggy?
00:23It's tacky.
00:24I'm getting a bit of a nightgown vibe from this.
00:27If it comes to evening wear,
00:28I'm going to give you a showstopper.
00:30How does a pig feel about wearing a giraffe print?
00:33Oh my God!
00:37This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.
00:40I love it!
00:41We took the project in a slightly more sophisticated direction.
00:44It looks like a present for Germany.
00:46The winning designer is Michael.
00:50I'm so thrilled.
00:52I wanted to create that happiness Miss Piggy has brought to my children.
00:56It wasn't a happy pink.
00:58I don't know if it's more.
00:59Jordana, you're out.
01:0313 of the best designers from Project Runway are back.
01:09And this time, the competition is tougher than ever.
01:12Each week, their skills are tested to the limit as they compete for the biggest prize in runway history.
01:18Who will be cut?
01:20And who will have it all sewn up?
01:22This is Project Runway All-Stars.
01:27The winner of Project Runway All-Stars will sell their merchandise within an exclusive boutique at select Neiman Marcus stores and on Neiman Marcus dot com.
01:35The winner will also get a spread in Marie Claire Magazine in a position as guest editor for one year.
01:40$100,000 in technology and office space from HP and Intel.
01:44A sewing and embroidery studio provided by Brother International.
01:48And a cash prize of $100,000 courtesy of L'Oreal Paris.
01:52Congratulations, Michael!
02:01Winning last week's challenge does not give me confidence that I will always be in the top or, you know, always be safe.
02:08You were excited to win. I heard you were jumping up and down.
02:10I was. I jumped up and down every time I went.
02:13I know that the pressure's on me to deliver something, like, amazing.
02:18Again, I think I'm really feeling that.
02:20Let's go.
02:33We're four challenges in and we have ten designers remaining in the competition.
02:37The competition is getting very competitive.
02:41This is Project Runway All Stars and everybody is so good here.
02:46This week's challenge is all about taste.
02:49Good taste comes in many forms, but it has to start somewhere.
02:54Why not be inspired by taste itself?
02:57Your challenge is to create a tasteful outfit inspired by the colors and flavors of a seriously tasty dessert.
03:06Gelato.
03:08Please welcome L'Arte del Gelato.
03:13A gelato slangin' cherub. What's this all about?
03:18You'll each pick a flavor and you'll also receive a swatch for color reference.
03:23Some of the flavors are written in a way that I don't really know what it's gonna taste like or look like.
03:28Fruits of the forest, you know, I don't know what that is.
03:31Michael, you won last week's Miss Piggy Challenge, so you get to go first.
03:35Great.
03:36I knew I wanted grapefruit.
03:43Bam!
03:44I was really hoping for something more of like a ruby red color grapefruit, but I thought this color was just really beautiful also.
03:51Michael gets to pick who goes next. I know how this cookie is about to crumble.
03:56Mondo.
03:57I'm gonna have my cantaloupe and eat it too. I'm gonna choose Mila.
04:06I choose milk and sour cherries. This is like milky white and red, two colors that I love together.
04:16I choose April.
04:18Yay!
04:19I did kind of hope that nobody would take blueberry.
04:22Fruit of the Forest is still available.
04:24That fabric swatch was like this kind of yummy deep red color.
04:28I'm just really happy that passion fruit is still left.
04:31Vanilla Madagascar.
04:34I choose green tea.
04:37My eyes on kiwi from the beginning.
04:40Well, go grab it, Cara. It's yours.
04:43I'm kind of . You know, I got my chocolate with cayenne pepper.
04:48You know, I really did feel like the kid in the park that their little cone dropped.
04:52You know, and the little ice cream fell off.
04:55Our guest judge this week is here to tell you more about your challenge.
05:00Please welcome one of the most famous women in fashion.
05:04She's the president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
05:08Oh, my God.
05:10Diane von Furstenberg.
05:12Whoo!
05:13It's amazing.
05:14Oh, my God.
05:15This is so exciting.
05:16Hi!
05:17Michael, he's, like, hyperventilating.
05:21He's, like, practically crying.
05:23Hi, everybody.
05:24Diane von Furstenberg is a very big deal.
05:27Welcome to the show.
05:29She is with the queen of international ready-to-wear fashion.
05:33Well, designers, you do not have much time for this challenge.
05:37This is the fastest in Project Runway history.
05:42You only have six hours.
05:48From pattern construction to cutting to fitting to alterations to finishing the garment.
05:52I have six hours to show her my best work.
05:54So it's all about how quickly you can realize something and how you were inspired by it.
06:05Just go for it.
06:07Thank you and good luck.
06:09Bye.
06:10We'll be back here for this week's runway in just six hours time.
06:17What the am I going to make in six hours?
06:26It's sketch time.
06:27In a roundabout way, I kind of know what I want to do.
06:32I want to do this oversized, like, silky draped dress with ruched sleeves to make it look gorgeous.
06:40Diane, my first number is going to be judging, and I cannot disappoint that woman.
06:44It's got to be right.
06:45I'm not going to try anything new or take major risks because I really just need to get something done.
06:53Mini Mood is set up in our designer lounge.
07:00There's tons of fabric.
07:03I already have this design in my head.
07:05I need black jersey, and this Mood doesn't have black jersey.
07:09So I'm screwed.
07:10I have to start a new idea over, and I have to start a new idea quickly because I don't have any time.
07:15Five minutes, everyone.
07:19Definitely want to work with colors.
07:21I definitely have to include the chocolate, but it's not about the chocolate.
07:25It's really about the flavor.
07:28Chocolatey, a little spicy, and then it's this furnace fire.
07:34Guys, time's up.
07:36Are you serious?
07:37I don't get to buy as much fabric as I want.
07:41It's my own fault.
07:42I should have time-managed my experience in Mini Mood.
07:45Oh, no.
07:46Shucks.
07:52We have six hours, and I'm just dying.
07:55I think maybe I could make a pair of leggings in six hours, but a whole entire outfit.
08:00I know the whole entire room is stressing and wondering what are they going to do.
08:07To me, it's not a big deal.
08:09You're done already?
08:10Almost.
08:12I have clients who need things done in like 45 minutes to an hour.
08:17Just got to deliver.
08:18It's pretty, and I know where you're going to go with that.
08:20Yeah.
08:21I expect you to have another ta-dama.
08:23Yeah, the voila.
08:24Voila.
08:25Voila.
08:26The six-way stretch choir robe with two seams.
08:28Yeah, I know.
08:29It's so easy a chimpanzee could do it.
08:34Tara?
08:35Yeah, yeah.
08:36Are you feeling Madagascar?
08:38It feels like the beach.
08:39Yeah, it feels like the beach.
08:40It feels slightly tribal and African, but it still has a little glitz.
08:44I get my little color story together.
08:46I'm kind of seeing my dress come together in my head.
08:48I've got to make sure that it's a color palette that is chic, sophisticated, and reads well.
08:55Well, why not do like a Willy Wonka thing when the girl eats the candy that gives her,
09:00you know, violets turning violet?
09:03I think April is just going to need to soften it up or play more with colors.
09:08And it's got to just be a little bit more versatile.
09:11I figured I had to do this on the last challenge, so I'm hoping it continues to work.
09:18What are you laughing at?
09:19Everyone is really just going completely crazy.
09:23Like, horrified.
09:24This is crazy!
09:26Like you have a gun at your head.
09:28Michael, look, no black.
09:31I'm so proud.
09:32She works wonders with black and white fabric.
09:35So to see her do her take with the sour cherry and the milk, it's extremely refreshing.
09:41I do want the world to see that I don't only work in black and white, but also that there is a softer side to my design aesthetic.
09:48It's coming together really well until I laid the fabric on the floor and I don't know how, but some way it's about eight and a half inches shorter on one side.
10:01I measured wrong.
10:06The skirt didn't have a pattern.
10:08So I'm thinking, you know what?
10:10Like, this is such a make it work moment.
10:14I'm sewing and I'm sewing and I'm sewing and running and cutting and running.
10:18I literally sewed as if this was the last thing I was going to sew in my life.
10:24Okay, now my bobbin totally doesn't work.
10:30The white woman is slipping out back there.
10:33Normally a fashion designer would never be in the predicament of having to create something in six hours.
10:38Damn, I wish I had a cocktail right now.
10:41I have never in my life tried to power through a dress so quickly.
10:46You don't want Diane to be disappointed.
10:48I don't know if I'm going to be able to pull it off, to be honest.
10:51Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
10:57How can you have a fashion moment if you're staying with what you're comfortable with?
11:00That is your dream in a hot glue stick.
11:03I'm like ashamed.
11:04You're sucking up to Diane Von Persenberg.
11:15This week's challenge is to create a look inspired by a flavor of gelato.
11:21We only have six hours for the challenge.
11:27Hi, designers.
11:29Hi.
11:30Hi.
11:31Don't stop working.
11:32I know this is the fastest challenge in Project Runway history.
11:36I've bought you all a little snackaroo to keep you sugared up.
11:40And this is the chocolate in Cayenne.
11:42Who has the chocolate?
11:43Okay, I'm coming to you first, Cara.
11:44My whole thing is actually in the workroom.
11:46Okay.
11:47My key focus is really to create this silhouette that like embodies this flavor.
11:52So I've done numerous layers that go from neutral into like a fiery red.
11:58Right.
11:59I mean, you were under pressure a bit last week time-wise, weren't you?
12:02Yes, yes.
12:03This week you think you've got it nailed?
12:04I think so.
12:05Good.
12:06April.
12:07Hi, Joanna.
12:08How are you?
12:09Hi.
12:10I appreciate it.
12:11You're working with blueberries, right?
12:12Yeah.
12:13Okay, so you've been working under tremendous pressure of deadline.
12:17What are the tricks of the trade?
12:18I think you really have to stick with what you're comfortable with.
12:21How can you have a fashion moment if you're staying with what you're comfortable with?
12:24Well, I am working in color.
12:27Two thoughts.
12:28You say you're working with color, here's the color, and then you've covered the color up.
12:31Now, what about this?
12:32None of this is finished.
12:33No.
12:34It's just clean cut, right?
12:35No.
12:36It's not an issue with the hem.
12:37It was short on one side where you could see the lining and long on the other side.
12:40All right.
12:41Good luck.
12:42The cantaloupe gelato.
12:43Thank you so much.
12:44Keep going.
12:45Okay, so I want to ask you something that readers ask me all the time.
12:49How on earth do you accessorize?
12:51Because the minute you put this black belt on, it changes the shape of the dress, also sort
12:56of pulls it together.
12:57With this one, you can make it more fun or you can make it more elegant.
13:00So this is going to be like this, right?
13:02Yes.
13:03Yes, ma'am.
13:04You can make it suitable for evening, too, wouldn't it?
13:05Right.
13:06For evening, you can put it with a gold pump or anything to go with your belt.
13:10It's ready to go.
13:11Well, I can't wait to see the finished object.
13:12Good luck.
13:13All right.
13:14Thank you so much.
13:15How are you going to speak to Diane von Furstenberg's request that you make this as creative as possible?
13:23I think this is very creative given the time restraints.
13:25And also, I maintain style as well as taste.
13:29Of course it would be vanilla with Madagascar for you.
13:32Well...
13:33What is the Madagascar bit?
13:34I was thinking of getting this whole blue song drapery.
13:38Don't channel the wedding thing.
13:39Channel the fabulousness.
13:40The flavor is kiwi.
13:41It's going to be a wrap skirt.
13:43If you're doing a wrap skirt, does that mean you're sucking up to Diane von Furstenberg, queen of the wrap dress?
13:48No, because it's not really.
13:49Honestly, the wrap is pretty much only because of the time constraints.
13:53Tell me about your flavor.
13:55It is milk and sour cherries.
13:57So this is a pretty literal interpretation.
14:00I do not like what Mila has designed.
14:02It looked like a color block Christmas ornament disaster.
14:05So remember, remember, remember this week's challenge.
14:09Fabulousness, extravagance, show us how creative you are.
14:14Okay.
14:15Now what is this shade of pink?
14:18Grapefruit.
14:19Okay, now I have to tell you, and this may come as no surprise, that you are the envy of every designer in this room because you work so fast.
14:27What is your secret?
14:28I've literally been sewing since I was probably about ten years old.
14:31I mean, are you gluing instead of...
14:33Nothing's glued.
14:34Make sure it stands out.
14:36Stands out.
14:37When you've got a paler color sometimes, it's harder.
14:39All right, good luck.
14:42Okay, designers, I'm off.
14:44Remember, the clock is ticking.
14:46You've got very little time left.
14:47Your models are on their way, and I will see you soon.
14:59The first time we've ever got six hours.
15:01Six hours?
15:02This has nothing to do with being a talented designer.
15:05This has something to do with being a fast seamstress.
15:08After Joanna leaves, I have a ton of work to do.
15:11You can't just glue stick together.
15:13That is liquid thread.
15:15This is liquid imagination.
15:17I'm, like, ashamed to even admit it, but I actually used a glue gun.
15:23That is your dream in a hot glue stick.
15:26That print was perfect.
15:28It's very vibrant, and it's very me.
15:31Kenley is, like, this simple dress.
15:33I don't get passion fruit from that at all.
15:37Finish the neck.
15:38I'm happy with the way the design's coming out with the blouse.
15:40I just need the time to finish it.
15:42I feel like Rami's look is of questionable taste.
15:45It looks really garish, like a lime explosion.
15:49I'm really trying to send something down the runway that is unexpected from me.
15:54I love Mondo's caftan, but it is a caftan.
15:58It's a dress that I designed when I was in college.
16:01My model comes in.
16:03The dress does not fit her.
16:05I have to add two triangle panels to the back.
16:08I realize that I don't have enough fabric to make the dress longer.
16:12All right, get out.
16:13We need to, I need to get back to work.
16:15Come on.
16:16Thank you for all your help.
16:17Only reason I ain't flipping out, y'all, that don't get your garment finished.
16:26Only thing that I've had to change is my skirt.
16:29I'm going from a more penciled design to a more flirty, fuller, moving skirt.
16:36I like this still.
16:38This is really sheer still.
16:40With two layers, I thought it would be enough, but you're going to be able to see all the parts.
16:44It's kind of split down the middle.
16:47I feel like half the designers are completely done with theirs, and the other half are still running around, like, checking for the hair it's cut off.
16:57Oh, sorry, I just need you.
17:00Oh, my God.
17:05At that point, I didn't really even think it would accomplish anything to sort of get into some altercation, because we're all frantic.
17:18I gave her the look of death.
17:23There's three hours left, and this competition changed my life.
17:27And I'm fighting for that .
17:31Coming up on Project Runway All Stars.
17:34I don't have time to do the zipper, and I sew my model into it.
17:38All is fair in love and fashion.
17:40Oh, man.
17:41These proportions are a little off.
17:43We all have just, like, two hours to finish up our outfits.
17:54They're all frantic.
17:55It's definitely one of the most stressful challenges thus far.
17:58The last two hours of the workroom, I'm really just hilarious.
18:01I'm kind of just winging it.
18:03There's absolutely not a second to waste on the woulda, coulda, shouldas, but just what I can do with what I have access to.
18:09Diane von Furstenberg will be our judge.
18:16Yeah.
18:17Yeah.
18:18My model came in, and I fit her, and it was perfect.
18:24By now, I'm pretty familiar with her body, so it's pretty easy for me to get it right on.
18:30I'm particularly impressed with Mondo's cantaloupe.
18:33I think that it really does embody the feel of cantaloupe in a very kind of modern, abstract way, but it's so cantaloupe.
18:41I'm not big on using accessories.
18:55I usually make my own, but I think I'm gonna use the Newman-Marcus wall this time around.
18:59I like this bangle.
19:00They had a lot of cute stuff, too.
19:03This is a tent, which I'm excited about.
19:08Perfect.
19:11We all want the best accessories.
19:13I do love these.
19:15Yeah, those are definitely the way to go.
19:17One hour!
19:20I have to send my model now to the L'Oreal hair and makeup team.
19:28I just want, like, a very chic chignon kind of thing in the back.
19:32I want to do, like, a really messy bun.
19:34It's kind of a shabby chic look.
19:36I want, like, it to be a braid that goes like this into, like, a sloppy bun.
19:40Cool.
19:41Yes!
19:47I like a bright red lip.
19:49Very fresh, very youthful.
19:51I just want, like, a really clean, fresh face.
19:55Vanilla Madagascar.
19:57Like a rich lady on resort.
20:04I'm definitely nervous because how short the dress is.
20:07I should have gotten more fabric.
20:10It's just crazy.
20:12Oh, man.
20:13These proportions are a little off for me.
20:15That's pretty, right?
20:16Yes.
20:17When I tell you her model is a rail, and she had her looking like a pregnant cupcake,
20:20that's not the business.
20:23Guys, you have ten minutes.
20:31I don't have time to do the zipper, and I sew my model into it.
20:35All is fair in love and fashion.
20:37The last two minutes in the workroom, and just want to do the runway and just be done with this one.
20:43The bottom is not completely symmetrical.
20:46It's just not fitting the way it should.
20:49I can only do so much, and then it's really out of my hands.
20:52Guys, it's time to go to the runway.
20:54Let's go.
20:55Coming up on Project Runway All-Stars.
21:02It's just all over the place.
21:04There was no passion in this dress.
21:06It's just not flattering.
21:07You know you've missed.
21:17Welcome back to the runway.
21:19How are you?
21:20It seems like I just saw you a few hours ago.
21:24As it's been said on Project Runway, one day you're in, and the next you're out.
21:30Tonight, one of you will be going home.
21:33This week's challenge was the fastest in Project Runway history.
21:38You only had six hours to design a look inspired by the gelato flavor you chose.
21:44Let's meet the judges.
21:46First, we have designer and co-founder of Marquesa, Georgina Chapman.
21:50Hi.
21:51Hi.
21:52Hi.
21:53Next, we have one of the most famous names in fashion, Isaac Mizrahi.
21:58Hi, kid.
21:59Hello.
22:00And we have the first of two guest judges.
22:02She's one of the most respected names in fashion, the iconic Diane Von Furstenberg.
22:08Hi.
22:09Hi.
22:10And last but not least, one of the hottest models in the business, Australian supermodel,
22:17Miranda Kerr.
22:18Hi, guys.
22:19Hi.
22:20Hi.
22:21And Miranda Kerr.
22:22And Miranda will wear the winning designer's look to an industry event.
22:26Having Miranda Kerr wear your look is great publicity.
22:30Good luck and have a great show.
22:35My mouth waters for a slice of cantaloupe.
22:44This is this drapey kimono.
22:46And I think the judges will recognize that I am going outside my own box.
22:56Wow.
22:57She looks wonderful.
22:58She looks like a dream realized.
23:03When Diane Von Furstenberg really likes something, she looks at the designer and kind of winks at
23:09them.
23:11Diane does not wink at me.
23:13She looks young, hip, fresh.
23:19She's got this really vibrant glow about her.
23:23I'm hoping the judges notice it's very cute, flirty, and that's who my clients are.
23:39For the first time, I'm able to see my design.
23:42Like, you don't have time to, like, sit and look back.
23:44And that was my moment.
23:45And she looked like a rich, beautiful girl going out to lunch with her girlfriends.
23:49So I'm happy with the way it looks.
23:56I think she looks chic, gorgeous, and easy breezy.
24:02I'm very tasteful, so I think I've got this one covered.
24:13I think that this look is fantastic.
24:15I think that it's something that's super relatable to my client.
24:18And I think that it's something that Diane Von Furstenberg just gave me a thumbs up for.
24:22The movement's great.
24:23The colors are just gorgeous.
24:24Isaac and Diane are definitely reacting to this.
24:25And I'm thinking, I get it.
24:26Of course they get it.
24:27You want to lick this dress because you get it.
24:29I felt great.
24:30I felt great.
24:31I felt great.
24:32I felt great.
24:33I felt great.
24:34I felt great.
24:35I felt like that is liquid gelato moving on the runway, and she looks gorgeous.
24:39She looks flawless, effortless, exactly how I wanted her to look.
25:04I did a good job creating the color of blueberry, and I really like the silhouette.
25:14I think it's dark and it works.
25:16I like the look.
25:17I wish the skirt was longer.
25:19I hope the judges just realized that we only had six hours for this.
25:23Beautiful, elegant dresses are my signature.
25:32I want to be able to show that.
25:34That's why I'm here on the runways to showcase who I am as a designer.
25:46Designers, if I call your name, please step forward.
25:48Austin, Rami, Jarrell, Kenley, congratulations.
26:00You guys are safe.
26:01Your designs will keep you in the competition.
26:04Well done.
26:05You can leave the runway.
26:07Designers, let's bring out your models.
26:12Cara, you had chocolate and cayenne pepper gelato.
26:24Can you tell us about your inspiration and your design for your dress?
26:27I felt like it was layers upon layers of flavor.
26:30And I try to bring all the colors and the experiences that I felt into this dress.
26:36And right at the end, I had this pop of cayenne pepper, which for me was like this red.
26:42You're so passionate when you talk.
26:44And I just, I couldn't quite get the passion in the dress.
26:47I think the colors are letting you down slightly.
26:50You did a beautiful job to explain your inspiration.
26:53That moved me.
26:55But the dress itself doesn't.
26:56I like the fact that you said it has all the different layers.
26:59The only thing that I found personally was that I'm not so much a fan of ruffles.
27:04The dress is very cute.
27:05I think the explanation is wonderful.
27:07But it's just not flattering.
27:08And it's not just from the side.
27:10Actually, the back detail, if you can see it, is really sweet.
27:13I like that.
27:14It felt very summery.
27:15Yet, when you're getting the side profile, she's looking like she's hiding a bump.
27:20I also wrote down pregnant.
27:23The minute the word pregnant comes up, you know you've missed.
27:28Anthony, you had green tea gelato.
27:32Watching my gelato melt in my hands on top of my cone kind of served as the primary inspiration for my look.
27:39Before you explained your inspiration of ice cream melting, I like to dress much less.
27:44I like that you took a creative approach to your design.
27:49But I think you went a little too conceptual.
27:52Instead of coming across as amazing, it got a little bit messy.
27:56I love the skirt.
27:58And I love the concept.
28:00You could see it.
28:01It's darker and then it melts.
28:03Turn around.
28:04Maybe if you'd lost the back panels, you would have had a more flattering silhouette.
28:09I definitely agree.
28:10Like, a little more simplicity in the back would have been great.
28:15Mila.
28:16Milk with sour cherry gelato.
28:19I just wanted to create something that evoked that the milkiness and the color of milk versus the stark color of a cherry.
28:27I think this says cherry ice cream so much, so clearly.
28:32Wow.
28:33I agree with you, Isaac.
28:34I really like this dress as well.
28:36I think it was a very creative approach with the lines and the layers.
28:41And I like the way that that came across.
28:44It's beautiful and the design is nice, but it kind of looks like it was done in little time.
28:51That was my problem.
28:53I think it was a very ambitious dress given the time with all that seeming which you've done very well.
28:58So I really congratulate you on that.
29:00And I think all that lightness of summer that I'm getting from your design is rather distracted for me by the weight of everything you've added to it.
29:09I think that this is a dress that looks like it's easy to wear.
29:12And I like that because I like things that I can just throw on and, you know, you don't have to think too much about it.
29:17I really liked it.
29:18I like the color choice and I think that it flows well when she was walking.
29:24Michael, grapefruit gelato.
29:27I really wanted to do something that I know I could have finished.
29:31I wanted to do something beautiful because I have to tell you, Diane, you're like one of my really big idols.
29:37I love the dress. I think it's a great dress.
29:40I'm not mad about the color.
29:41Grapefruit can be very pale and smooth, but there is a tartness to it that I think is missing.
29:46My concern, again, was the color.
29:48But if you say that's the color of the ice cream, I just wasn't getting grapefruit.
29:51I'm getting more like a mugey tone.
29:53I think it's beautiful. I think it's beautifully draped.
29:57I think it's very fluid. Turn around.
30:00Yeah.
30:01Michael, you got to call me after the show.
30:05Ooh.
30:10April, you had blueberry gelato.
30:12I wanted to create something that was light, like the taste of the gelato.
30:16It wasn't very strong, but it had these bits that you would bite into and taste the blueberry.
30:21Is it black over a purple? Is that what I'm saying?
30:23It's a dark purple over this bright purple.
30:26You see, that gives a really nice read on the eye.
30:29I just think you were too ambitious doing this corset
30:32because my eye is just going straight there, and it's just all over the place.
30:37When she first came out, she made a big impact, I thought.
30:39The length is right. The color is great.
30:42Well, that, of course, I was going to get to.
30:44The back is really scary.
30:46The back is scary, and the belt is scary, right?
30:49Yeah.
30:50And the earrings are scary.
30:51The effect of the two fabrics, that was very nice, but then it went from being very nice
30:56to a little bit Halloween spider thing.
30:59It just didn't look like it was a finished product.
31:03You have very interesting ideas, but sometimes in the translation, I find it's not coming through clearly.
31:11Just let's see what it looks like without the belt.
31:13It's funny because I usually don't style a lot.
31:16Look how much better this is.
31:17So much better.
31:18And it definitely does look better without the belt.
31:20So, Mondo.
31:21Hi.
31:22You had cantaloupe.
31:24This would be like the rind. This is like the green.
31:27It's like my loose interpretation of the actual cantaloupe.
31:31I think it's great because I think it does look like a cantaloupe.
31:36Turn around.
31:37I love it that it's teamed with flats, and the back is absolutely to die for.
31:42Kind of adds a little sexiness to it.
31:45You know, it's funny because I'm looking at these colors and these fabrics and I'm like,
31:49they shouldn't go together.
31:51Yet somehow, it does work.
31:53I love a caftan, and I think that sometimes with a caftan, they cannot flatter your figure.
31:59I think this caftan really flatters the figure.
32:02The only thing I didn't really love about it is the bright color orange, which you went for that in the taste, and I applaud you for that.
32:10I think it's great.
32:11I wish there was more of her body on immediate impact.
32:14When she turns around, it kind of saves the thing.
32:17Well, that was clearly a lot of work, designers.
32:20Well done.
32:21We're now going to deliberate, and we'll call you back.
32:25You can leave the runway.
32:28So we have our highs and our low scores.
32:39Let's talk about our low scores.
32:41Let's start with Anthony.
32:43The ambition was so big to do a beautiful Balenciaga with the whole thing.
32:49When you do something like that, you know, it's got to be perfect.
32:53Otherwise, it looks amateur.
32:55If the skirt had been in the same color, I don't think we would have gone to the waist as much.
33:00I think it would have been a more complete look.
33:05I think Cara designed sweet clothing, and I think she was very stuck on this.
33:10She chose the chocolate cayenne swatch, and she just could not get her mind out of it.
33:15And I think that her interpretation was great when she said it, but it was very literal.
33:20The layers and how she tasted it, and she had to make herself figure out how to work with a chocolate brown.
33:26Which, what's wrong with brown?
33:28Well, there's plenty wrong with chocolate brown if it's not good.
33:31And, you know, that dress was, it wasn't offensive in any particular way.
33:36It was to me. It looked like a maternity dress.
33:39It didn't look amateurish. It's not flattering at the waist.
33:43That was really the only thing I personally could object to it.
33:46There was an intention there that I think was very good.
33:49I'm with you on the color. I'm not all there, and...
33:52Really, after a while, is she an all-star?
33:58And then we have April.
33:59The colors were pretty. It was fresh, and it was youthful in its approach.
34:03I think she needs a little more confidence in who she is, and I don't think we got a true vision from her.
34:08For me, it would look like a little piece of Halloween.
34:11I wish she had gone with that. That could have been really fresh and exciting.
34:14Yes. Yes.
34:15That's right.
34:16Let's talk about our top scorers.
34:21Let's start with Michael.
34:24Michael is a great draper.
34:27The style was really beautiful.
34:30It's not my favorite fabric, but I love the way it was very floaty, and it was timeless, and she looked like a goddess.
34:37I love the movement of it. I love the flow of it. It's also like something that, I don't know what, like you've seen before or something, or there's something about it that's too on the nose.
34:47I think the profile, the draping in the arm was so beautiful, but the fabric threw me, because it didn't conjure up grapefruit to me.
34:54I know he said that was the color, but it's sort of red fleshy, and I wanted to see something fresh and vibrant, and I think even a satin-faced Georgette would have been better.
35:05So let's talk about Mila.
35:08I thought it was a dress that you could wear very easily. You can just throw it on. I did think that the styling was a little heavy with the shoes and the belt.
35:17I got the flavor of the ice cream from that dress. That was my favorite dress.
35:21Really?
35:22Yeah. I really liked it.
35:26I thought it was something, you know, I really adore easy clothes.
35:28I don't particularly like when you see the red through the white. I think it conjures up a strange color.
35:34Let's go to Mondo.
35:37I like the color. It's gorgeous. The back detail, the way it came down into that V was really nice.
35:43I actually liked the literal element of the sleeves that looked like the cantaloupe rind.
35:49I didn't find it sexy. She was covered from head to toe, and I didn't like the bright orange.
35:53You are the one who is wearing orange, aren't you?
35:56Yeah.
36:00It sounds as though it's between Michael and Mondo.
36:03Uh-huh. It's a tough one. It really is.
36:06Because the inspiration, you could say Mondo is right on it.
36:10If you'd was on the cover of a magazine and the magazine was called Cantaloupe, you got it.
36:16I think Michael's dress is more creative than Mondo's.
36:18Yeah. The only thing I actually just thought about wearing Michael's dress, you know, especially now I'm breastfeeding, without a bra.
36:25A little bit of tape. You know what I'm saying, though?
36:28She's totally on a personal angle here.
36:31I see why you ladies relate to the thing of Mondo's. There is a stylishness to it. They're both award-winning thoughts, I have to say.
36:41So we've made our decision.
36:43Yeah, yeah.
36:45Okay, let's bring the designers back up.
36:48Designers, to create an outfit in just six hours, that's pretty incredible. Job well done.
37:00One of you will be named this week's winner, and one of you will be going home tonight.
37:06Mila, you're safe. You can leave the runway.
37:31Michael.
37:37Mondo.
37:38One of you will win this week's challenge and have your designs showcased by Miranda.
37:46And that winning designer is...
37:51Michael!
37:53Oh, my God!
37:56Yay!
37:57Oh, my God.
37:58Congratulations, Michael.
37:59Thank you, Michael.
38:00Miranda, oh, my God. You're going to look great, girl. I'm just telling you right now.
38:03I can't wait to wear it.
38:04So, Miranda, are you excited, or are you going to wear Michael's dress?
38:08It's such a beautiful dress. I could wear it to so many different things.
38:11Come to Palm Springs. We'll hang out, and you can wear it there.
38:13Palm Springs! That would be nice!
38:16Congratulations, Michael. Thank you.
38:17You are through to next week, and that much closer to the grand prize.
38:22Thank you. Thank you, judges. Thank you, guys.
38:23You can leave the runway.
38:24My phone's going to ring off the hook now.
38:29Oh, my God. Thank you, Jesus.
38:31You're my official designer to the stars.
38:33It's a whole different level for me.
38:36Project Runway All Stars is a dream come true. It really is.
38:40You know what, Mondo? We loved your dress, too.
38:43Thank you. Especially Deanne.
38:44It was close.
38:45All of us girls wanted to wear that dress.
38:47Congratulations, Mondo. You're safe, and you can leave the runway.
38:53I think, at this point, the judges are recognizing that I have something else to show.
38:59Maybe I missed the mark this week, but I'll be back again next week.
39:03Anthony, you're safe. You can leave the runway.
39:14April and Cara, one of you will be in, and one of you will be out.
39:22April, we understand you only had six hours, but your dress was poorly constructed.
39:30You need to learn that when something's not working, you just need to move on.
39:34Cara, you are a passionate designer, but there was no passion in this dress.
39:42And we just couldn't get past that maternity look.
39:47Cara.
39:54You're safe.
39:58I'm sorry, April. That means you're out.
40:02Cara, you can leave the runway.
40:09I want you to know I'm really passionate about what I do.
40:13You are.
40:14We can see that.
40:15I'm sorry.
40:22Oh, my God.
40:23Are you really?
40:25But wait a minute. Let me leave April there.
40:29April, thank you so much for being part of All Stars.
40:32You really have amazing potential.
40:34Thanks. I appreciate it.
40:36Thanks for the opportunity.
40:37And we wish you all the best.
40:41You wouldn't be here if you were in All Stars.
40:45Bye. Good luck.
40:46Obviously, I wanted to come here and win, but you can't predict those things.
40:52I just look at every opportunity as an experience and grow from that.
40:56I'm not going to, like, give up.
40:57I have a degree in this, and I've worked really hard, and I'm 22, so I have a lot of time.
41:08Going forward, I'm going to expand my brand and keep doing what I love to do.
41:13Next, on Project Runway All Stars, this week's challenge is to find a muse to inspire a fashion-forward look.
41:24But there is an All Stars twist.
41:27What?
41:29Hold on a second.
41:30Can I ask you guys a question?
41:31My name's Austin Scarlett.
41:32I think you're gorgeous.
41:33I will do whatever I have to do.
41:34I need those shorts right off your bed.
41:36That's how you get them in.
41:38You haven't actually got a challenge under your belt yet.
41:41It's so insane how she's, like, in everybody's business.
41:44Are you worried that you might have peed?
41:46It looks the opposite of sexy.
41:48It's too confusing.
41:49I feel like she's walking around without her skirt on.
41:52She looks like someone that should be in The Lion King.
42:08Got her!
42:10I got her!
42:11I got her!
42:12Oh my God!
42:131
42:14For those of thoseviets.
42:16Make friends really nice.
42:17Show with me.
42:18Make friends with me earlier.
42:19Perfect!
42:20Make friends
