The Samuel Badree Cricket Academy has signed the dotted line with the University of Trinidad and Tobago to help develop the sport locally. Badree's Academy is expected to add to the educational philosophy of UTT as they aim to develop infrastructure and the skill of local players. The official Memorandum of Understanding took place on Thursday.

00:00Former West Indies cricketer Samuel Badry signing his way towards another cricket development venture,
00:06this time with the University of Trinidad and Tobago.
00:09He was presented with a symbolic shirt by Ian Prashad, Senior Manager of Sport and Recreation at UTT, to mark the occasion.
00:17They say it reflects an alignment of community upliftment, youth development and the transforming power of sport.
00:24They added UTT is committed to developing the intellect of the whole person, including discipline, resilience and teamwork.
00:31They believe sport plays a role in talent identification and shared values.
00:36We are making sport, and in this case cricket, accessible to our young boys and girls.
00:43And we have satellite centres as well, so this would be the major hub of our activities.
00:49What we are trying to do now is to get our most talented athletes across the country to come to this facility,
00:56those who are talented, and try to take them to the next level.
00:59The academy will also be targeting boys and girls ages 5 to 15.
01:04Our commitment is to design a state-of-the-art cricket facility.
01:10We've said three pitches, we might expand to four if we get the approval.
01:14I've already approached corporate train on Tobago, so we are well on our way to securing the finances to get this done.
