With the Regional Four Day Tournament bowling off next month, T&T coach Rayad Emrit is satisfied with the team's preparations going into the new First-Class season.

We caught up with Emrit during a training session with Team Red Force in Balmain.
Transcript
00:01Team Red Force will be in action from next month as the regional four-day tournament bowls off which will
00:07test the players in the red ball format.
00:09TNT coach Riyad Emrit has his work cut out for him as training sessions have been in progress at the
00:14National Cricket Centre in Balmain.
00:15As far as Emrit is concerned, the sessions have been quite productive.
00:19Preparation has been going really well. We're thankful that we have the weather, that we could be outside most of
00:25the times.
00:25The guys have been playing club cricket and most of our regional players have been doing well so far.
00:34So guys getting hundreds. My main focus now is to get the guys to play together as a team.
00:43We haven't got the opportunity to play any practice games so far. In the coming weeks we'll get the opportunity
00:49to do that.
00:49But I'm sort of satisfied at the moment where we are as a team. We see our bowlers getting a
00:56good run out throughout the weekend, mostly our spinners.
00:59Having said that, the former TNT and West Indies cricketer, who turned 45 this month, believes there's always room for
01:06improvement.
01:07With the team expected to be selected in a couple weeks, does Emrit have any concerns at the moment?
01:12There's always concerns. Yes, our batters have been getting runs, but I think we need them to get more runs
01:19consistently.
01:22We see one week they score, the other week is not that much. I would like them to score runs
01:27a lot more consistently.
01:29I know it will come. I want them to pick at the right time.
01:32But again, if you have that confidence going into the tournament, it's always good with your batters getting runs behind
01:37them.
01:37TNT have not won the four-day title in a long time, with a third-place finish in 2025.
01:43Emrit and company hope to lift the trophy this year, but they are not making the mistake of taking their
01:47opponents lightly.
01:48You're wary of every opponent. Everybody's coming to win. Everybody keeps bringing their A-game when they come against the
01:56Red Force teams.
01:57So we are wary. We're not going to take any team for granted. We just want to do a lot
02:02better than we did last year.
02:03Last season we were good. One game basically cost us a season, and we want to get over the line
02:10this season.
02:12We want to play positive cricket. My philosophy and the way I coach, I want the guys to express themselves
02:19and be positive.
02:20So that's the kind of cricket that I want the guys to play.
02:22Based on reports, the four-day season rolls off on April 10th.
02:26We know now on 8264.
