07:42his first with the Giants how do you
07:45evaluate your play today that opening

07:49yeah it was good I mean I think that
07:51first of all it's good to be out here
07:52with the fellas man the best part about
07:54this time of year you know just playing
07:56ball we've been working on butts off
07:57every day for moments like this I'm
07:59excited for all of us young guys to the
08:01the guys that were just trying to you
08:02know find their way for the first time
08:04to and just it's cool to be around you
08:06know the New York Giants it's just the
08:08organization everything it's a blessing
08:10to be be the quarterback here what'd you
08:11think of Jackson darts play both his
08:14performance and his comportment yeah I
08:16thought he did a really good job he was
08:18composed made a great throw to LJ my
08:20guy LJ one-on-one he's always gonna
08:22make a play and he did a great job and
08:24so I think for us we're just continuing
08:25to grow and trying to watch the defense
08:27make a player and but we want to get
08:30this win right here that's the key

08:35leadership mean to you because they're
08:37all impressed I think the thing is
08:40is being consistent every day you know
08:41being a consistent your approach being
08:43consistent and how you speak to guys
08:45how you uplift guys how you encourage

08:49challenge guys to be our best every
08:50day and so I think all that
08:52accountability and all that focus
08:54daily you know and not just from on
08:56the field but you know off the field
08:58our treatment or our habits and we've
09:00got a lot of great players now I'm
09:01excited about this football team and
09:02who we can be and but we'll go get
09:04it finally what's your message to
09:05Giants nation yeah we're just we're
09:06just playing one game at a time one
09:09play at a time almost got you there

09:19year and you know we're gonna need

11:12other side of adversity still
11:14standing so he can really help these
11:18young men relate to tough times you
11:21know tough stretches in the season
11:23when nobody's there for you nobody's
11:26rooting for you and you gotta you
11:29know you gotta uplift each other to
11:30get yourself out of a hole that's no
11:33that's what he can bring to this
11:35team aside from like you said good
11:36habits Darren's and Evans with the
11:41last catch second and three White

14:35time for Tommy Tommy is he's played
14:37in meaningful games and you see a
14:40blitz coming he knows exactly where
14:42his heart is gets rid of it the
14:44gates to blitz for a big play there
14:46so as you look at Tommy DeVito here
14:49this is just not about him mop up
14:51down on the field where he's a
14:52quality rep for him and it's gonna
14:55be an audition he's a he's an NFL
14:57backup in this league who's been a
15:00starter talk more about that
15:03injured Bills player on the field
15:05as we'll step aside with the Giants
15:07trailing by one take a look at the
15:11Giants quarterback so far today and
15:14all three quarterbacks have led
15:15scoring drives Jackson Dart with a
15:1829 yard touchdown pass offensive
15:20line right now for Tommy DeVito
15:22Josh Izudu Aaron Stinney Jimmy
15:26Morrissey at center Brian Hudson at
15:29the right guard and Stone Forsythe
15:32at the right tackle you know
15:34DeVito has made eight starts in
15:36the NFL he's three and five sixty
15:39five percent eight touchdowns three
15:41interceptions he's proven he can
15:44play in NFL games sees the hot and
15:47that's dropped by Ward incomplete
15:50getting them in the right stuff he's
15:52got to make that play now you know
15:54you look at the the career of
15:57someone like Tyrod Taylor who's been
16:00kind of a similar path he started
16:02some games throughout his career
16:04but has been a very reliable backup
16:08quarterback that can if you need
16:10him to start for you he can start
16:12for you I think that's kind of the
16:14path that Tommy DeVito is on Miller
16:19the tailback on a second and ten
16:21Jordan Bly lined up to the left top
16:24of your screen there's Miller with a
16:28nice catch in space and he's got a
16:30first down as we set it down to
16:32Howard cross and you guys are
16:34talking about Tommy you got to
16:35take one thing into consideration
16:37he's also the most experienced
16:38quarterback in this group when it
16:40comes down to this offense so he's
16:42out here playing against guys who
16:44are trying to make the team when
16:45he knows exactly what to do and
16:47where their blitz is coming from
16:48he's going to pick them apart if
16:49these guys catch the ball you know
16:51he spent a lot of time with coach
16:55Dable and really learned his
17:00offense so he is a reliable
17:02backup Ward the tailback and a
17:05first and ten makes one man miss
17:11and gets pulled down at about the
17:1342 yard line looks like it was a
17:15face mask but I guess it wasn't
17:17well the Jack it's going to be
17:18interesting because because Tommy
17:20DeVito won a primetime game on
17:22national TV and has had a
17:24some wins you know he's not
17:28getting caught and being put on
17:30the practice squad because if you
17:31look at there's about five or six
17:33teams in the NFL quarterbacks
17:35that have really bad backup
17:37quarterback situations yeah which
17:39means could there be a trade with
17:44teams that have a deep
17:46quarterback room the veto for
17:51Oh chef ski got it reaches up but
17:54it's incomplete hit the ground
18:01Codrington on the coverage
18:07Carl that's a nice throw and
18:08that's another one that's got to
18:09be caught yes gotta make that
18:13catch yeah we saw Washington drop a
18:16couple that's one that gunner
18:18Oshesky he's got a real in on a
18:23perfectly placed ball juice wells in
18:27the ballgame where's number two
18:29Oshesky to the top of your screen
18:33on a third and six just he's cut
18:38his route on that one and Tommy
18:42DeVito is not happy broke off his
18:46route he's talking to him they're
18:48gonna go for it so the Giants trail
18:53by 1 9 22 to go in the game and
19:00they'll need to convert this fourth
19:02and six Tommy tapped Oshesky in the
19:08head on the on the head said okay
19:10let's go felt lined up to the top
19:13of your screen Oshesky to the
19:15bottom Miller the tailback on fourth
19:20and six DeVito over the middle
19:24completes it for a first down so
19:29Fedoni who has had some issues
19:33hanging on the passes in
19:34practice has made two really nice
19:36receptions Bob here's another
19:38thing and I want to give a shout
19:41out to the offensive line coach
19:43Carmen Bursillo these
19:45quarterbacks have had time they've
19:47had time to reset and the
19:49and survey the landscape to find an
19:53open guy so they're doing
19:55something better than they did in
19:58the past we know it's preseason
20:01but these are the things that you
20:02see that are standing out that
20:04weren't there Miller able to pick
20:10up about four on the plate so
20:13Fedoni went to the tight end you
20:15run by Travis Kelsey and these were
20:19some of the things that Kelsey said
20:21to Thomas Fedoni extremely athletic
20:24moved well top my routes were really
20:26good and that was pretty cool to hear
20:29that from a future Hall of Famer
20:31yeah and made a few catches today
20:34including a big two point conversion
20:36yeah second and eight Ward the
20:37tailback DeVito takes the check down
20:42to Ward and Ward knocked out of
20:46bounds at the twenty three yard line
20:51yeah Tommy DeVito is moving this
20:59offense I think if you're a Giants
21:05fan you've been watching over the
21:06last couple of years and because
21:09of injuries some of the play a
21:11quarterback I mean all four guys
21:14are functioning at a really nice
21:16level today absolutely third and
21:21six DeVito loops one into the end
21:25zone and he overshoots his
21:26intended receiver juice Wells
21:30rookie free agent out of Ole Miss
21:34but they converted the other
21:36fourth down play which gets them
21:38in field goal range and now with
21:397 17 to go you're going to get a
21:43look at Jude Mika Tom name part of
21:50the NFL pathway program kicked at
21:54Rutgers last year did convert an
21:58extra point Giants are late get
22:01Marcus Bow on the Tom day from 42
22:11and he drills it to give the Giants
22:13the lead with 7 13 to go it's 27 25
22:18in favor of the Giants back at
22:21Orchard Park New York Giants regain
22:24the lead 27 25 and you know Carl we
22:28were joking about it but with all
22:31four quarterbacks in the game it has
22:33never looked ragged and I can't
22:36remember the last time the Giants had
22:38three let alone four quarterbacks in
22:41a preseason game all lead a scoring
22:43drive and also a half today yeah I
22:45mean look it's just like I said the
22:47offense just looks overall looks
22:49better and you know first team
22:52second team third team in the fourth
22:54group that's in there they don't
22:56look discombobulated they look like
22:58a team that has prepared for a game
23:01you know there are a few mistakes
23:03out here but Tommy's not running for
23:06his life nor did Jameis nor to
23:10Jackson or Russ so you know that's
23:13a tribute not only to players but to
23:15coaching as well they're doing some
23:17things right and it looks different
23:19folks and I'm not projecting what
23:21it's gonna look like four games from
23:23now but I'm just telling you what you
23:25saw last year and what you see this
23:27year this time of year looks
23:29different Shane Buchel now in it
23:32quarterback for the Bills and he
23:35checks it down to Gore Gore runs
23:38through a tackle of Nick Jones check
23:42out all the giant programming
23:44throughout the season on MSG

24:52sack for the Giants hopefully it's
24:55going to punt it Jordan Riley will
24:57get credit for the sack and the
24:58Bills will punt it away with five

25:06that protecting himself from the
25:08sun with the bucket hat natural's

26:56try to get my feet wet a little
26:57bit you know just to get into the
26:58groove again so it was a good day

27:02pass rush can be when you look at
27:04Kayvon and Dexter and Abdul Carter
27:07and yourself it could be what we
27:09wanted to be like we got a lot of
27:11talent around you know I'm saying we
27:13look great on paper but we put it
27:14all together for week one how would
27:16you describe the positivity that's
27:19around this program right now it
27:21just feels different you know it's
27:23my first my first year was last
27:24year so I wasn't really too caught
27:26up on the culture but it just feels
27:27different you know Russ brings a
27:29different type of vibe to the to
27:31locker room and to the team and he's
27:34really a great leader is it
27:35exciting to get this whole thing
27:36going today oh definitely definitely
27:38like I said it was a good good time
27:39to get back out there get my feet
27:40wet you know I'm saying get the
27:41speed of the game and get a feel
27:42for it but I'm definitely getting
27:44tuned up for week one thanks Brian

30:39a good angle where's Hawkeye at
30:42the game we'll find out for sure so

30:50game the clock winding the Giants

30:54one Miller the tailback they just
31:03try to draw him offside to Vito

53:54and he and Sean McDermott embrace all
53:59four quarterbacks lead scoring drive
54:01Jackson Dart makes his debut and a
54:04lot for Giants fans to be excited
54:06about well I hope you've enjoyed

54:11on NBC for New York where the Giants
54:14have defeated the Buffalo Bills 34 to
54:1725 next Saturday the Giants take on the
54:20Jets from MetLife Stadium at 7 p.m. so
