01:29emotionally I mean it's so hard

01:38ever discount the emotional toll that
01:40happens from a player coaching
01:41standpoint on a play to play basis
01:43and when you have this type of hope
01:45for what these two young guys have
01:47brought to this team and the
01:49exuberance that you've seen you
01:51realize okay where are we gonna get
01:52that from now and now darts got to
01:54pick it up all by himself but he
01:56doesn't have his running mate there
01:57with them so yeah this is one game
01:59they're gonna be dealing with this
02:00for the rest of the season but same
02:02time you know they've still got a
02:04really tough one on their hands
02:05today to go out here and try to beat
02:07a division rival without one of their
02:09best players so the Giants just a

02:50to stop and they found different
02:53forms of offense to run under center
02:56a lot last week now some in the
02:57shotgun definitely changing it up on
03:01these defenses from week to week

05:58dart who has such a tight bond consoled
06:01by a lot of different players

06:05James Winston you could see guys
06:07supporting him and telling him we
06:10know how close you are but now you
06:11got to move forward and lead this
06:13offense just a devastating and tough
06:15scene challenging the Giants here to
06:17move forward guys yeah it's not
06:19easy and I think you know Tom no one
06:21knows this you do in that position
06:23the reality is you've got to get past
06:25emotionally you're down seven on the
06:26road against a division opponent and
06:28you're in decent shape game wise so
06:32this is a pretty big drive coming up
06:33right here with 613 to go in the half
06:35as Tracy takes over for scataboo full
06:37time in the backfield and he will get
06:41it on that first carry up the right
06:43side and then whacks him to read
06:44blanket ship but a nice start six yards

06:49aspect is challenging and I had games
06:51where I lost Wes Welker on an ACL and
06:53the 2009 and Gronkowski in 2013 and it
06:57just it hurts your boys not out there
06:59with you but you got to find a way to
07:01move on and you got to try to
07:03compartmentalize the best way you can
07:05and realize the task at hand is
07:07toughen us at toughen up as it is

07:18done and obviously scataboo was a big

07:43force the defense to line up and then
07:45I'm gonna call a play once I see how
07:47the defense is aligned it's a way that
07:49the coach can try to get the
07:50quarterback in the best possible play

09:24development within this system to
09:26understand and put the autonomy on the
09:28quarterback protections run schemes
09:30route concepts no huddle packages this is
09:33absolutely the right way to develop a
09:35young quarterback Jackson Dart's in a
09:37great position to succeed with this club
09:41he's got a third and six here they bring on

18:46A lot of things to like about the resiliency
18:48of this Giants team thus far.
18:50Dealing with the injuries,
18:51dealing with some of the challenges going on the road in Philly,
18:54and Philly's done what they do.
18:55They find ways to win.
18:56They find ways to evolve and change throughout the game.
18:59They've done a great job of that today, too.

21:57Yeah, a couple weeks ago he had an amazing game and he's really played well.
22:01But his Giants find themselves down 21-10 at the break here in Philadelphia.

23:10The Eagles put 21 points on the board.
23:12But they absorbed the tough injury to Cam Scadaboo, which was brutal.
23:16Now, what's their formula here?
23:18Only down 11 on the road and obviously a tough place to play.
23:21Yeah.
23:21Well, they have Tyron Tracy, who did have 1,000 yards rushing as a rookie last year.
23:25So, don't completely abandon the run game.
23:27There's no reason to.
23:28They've got to be productive in that area.
23:29And then Jackson Dart has had some time in the pocket.
23:32Yeah.
23:32So, just kind of hang back there.
23:34He's getting good protection from his guys up front.
23:37And then the loose plays he's still making.
23:39So, there's a lot to be promising here going forward for the Giants.
23:43I know it was a tough injury, but that's football.
23:46You've got to deal with it.
23:46You've got to go to this tough environment against the defending world champs
23:50and try to go out there and string together a good 30 minutes of football.

24:31are with Cam Scadaboo after that very difficult injury and that he was proud of the way his
24:36team was rallying together to respond.
24:39Offensively, he said he was pleased with the way Jackson Dart was playing in this game,
24:43but that the team needs to make more contested catches.
24:46Defensively, he said we need to get some stops.
24:48And in particular, on the special teams, need to do better at covering kicks and take advantage
24:53of better field position moving forward, guys.

24:57Slayton had his hands on the ball.
24:58Theo Johnson had a perfect pass that he dropped.

37:50First four career starts, most by a Giants quarterback since 50, right?
37:54Then the running game, Tom's talked about the legs, 178 rush yards, first four starts.
38:00Giants quarterbacks haven't done that in a long time.
38:02So he's using the dual threat.
38:03He's been good on third down.
38:05He just, it's not too big for him right now.
38:07Now, obviously, what comes next, got to win games.
38:11That's going to be the important part.

38:16And I think Giants fans are wondering, well, it's the first time Tom Brady has laid eyes on Jackson Dart.

38:22And again, we talked to him in a production meeting this week, and I asked, you know, hey,
38:26it was kind of deflating the loss to Denver, you know, but is there any positives to gain from him?
38:30And he goes, you know what?
38:31I'm not really into moral victories.
38:33And I was like, love that.
38:34You know, and then he's talking about I threw an interception, and he took accountability.
38:38And I was like, I love that.
38:39So if I look at the mental, emotional part of his game, I'm loving those things.
38:43The physical parts, everyone can see every day.
38:45But behind the scenes, what are his teammates hearing?
38:48What are his coaches hearing?
38:49He seems to have a lot of those things figured out for a young player.
38:51Yeah, Tracy gets the first down.
38:53And you mentioned in the first half about learning the right way under Brian Dable.
38:57What did you mean by that?
38:58I just, he's in a system that is allowing him and teaching him the tools to be successful.
39:03It's correct.
39:04And there's a difference.
39:05A lot of coaches teach plays.
39:07And a play is, okay, this is the play, run it.
39:09Another one is say, this is the philosophy of what we're trying to do.
39:13And if you don't like that based on the play call we had, I'm going to allow you to adjust
39:17the call and get us into a better play.
39:18That autonomy allows quarterbacks to elevate the game.
39:21A lot like Manning, Breeze, myself.
39:24Some of these guys who have played for a long time, they're very successful.
39:26Tracy gets to carry for two.
39:29How many rookies, if any, quarterbacks have that full autonomy?
39:31Yeah, not many.
39:32And I just think an issue in the NFL lately is the quarterback development.
39:36A lot of these young guys playing because now they're coming from lesser developed college
39:40systems where they're not asked to have autonomy.
39:43They're just running plays.
39:44Now you get them to the pro level and that only experience is like, hey coach, what do
39:48you want me to do?
39:48Well, I would rather have a coach say, this is your toolkit.
39:53You get to be a Swiss Army knife at the line of scrimmage.
39:55Go make the best play possible.
39:57Here, rifle throw.
39:58And that's incomplete to Slayton as now Daniel Bellinger, we're told, has gone into the tent
40:04for the Giants.
40:05I mean, they can't afford any more injuries.
40:07And they've been using a lot of two tight ends.
40:10It's been a big part of their game today in the last couple of weeks.
40:14And Bellinger now will get checked out.
