00:00For A.J. Brown, he popped up early on the injury report this week with a hamstring, so he's out, so is center Cam Juergens and cornerback Adoree Jackson.
00:09Hey, Kev, this rematch, are the Eagles calling it a revenge game?
00:12How about safety Reed Blankenship saying, when he got your, you know, tails kicked as bad as we did, I would say that's motivation.
00:19Nick Sirianni telling us his motivation, his team needs to execute and battle a lot better than they did in week six.
00:27Yeah, Giants beat them just two weeks ago, a rarity in the NFL.
00:31You're playing them again two weeks.
00:32It's the first rematch of any divisional teams this year.
00:36Old rivals go back a long way.
00:39Giants haven't won here in a long time, trying to change that, and here we go.
00:43NFL on Fox Week 8.
00:44Giants won the toss to third, and so the Eagles will get it first.
00:47They'll take it out from their 35-yard line, and without A.J. Brown and Cam Juergens, as Aaron said,
00:53and we get a flag on this opening kickoff, and we see Jalen Hurts coming on out, set to run this offense.
01:03Never a great omen when you get a flag on the opening kick that's a touchback.
01:06That's set the table for today, KB, a little.
01:09No.
01:10Not the way you want to begin.
01:11Brad Rodgers, our referee.
01:12Illegal formation.
01:21Receiving team number 42 was not on the line.
01:23It's a five-yard penalty from the 35-yard line.
01:26It's first down.
01:28All right.
01:29So the setup was wrong by Smile Mondin, and Nick Sirianni will argue,
01:33and we'll tell you about Jalen Hurts and how great he's been this year.
01:37He sure has.
01:38On pace for career year in passing, best deep ball passer in the NFL.
01:44He's done such a great job keeping plays alive with his legs,
01:46and then the best thing, I think, is just not turning the ball.
01:48You see the one interception right there.
01:50So these defenses have really loaded up to stop the run game,
01:55and the offensive passing game has responded with their pass catchers,
01:59with Jalen Hurts' decision-making.
02:03So they're picking up the flag here.
02:05Oh, thank goodness.
02:06It was unrest to begin the game.
02:08Yeah, but he's really answered the bell Jalen Hurts to me.
02:11Obviously, he's such a great winner,
02:13and he's proven that with some incredible performances in Super Bowls.
02:17But he expects to win every time he takes the field.
02:19That's what I like most about him.
02:21The Eagles are 5-2, Giants 2-5,
02:23but kind of the new era for New York with Dart and Scadaboo
02:26and these rookies when they're on offense.
02:28But now it's Hurts, and Saquon Barkley off to a slow start with this run game,
02:32as Tom said, from the 35.
02:38Looking to throw.
02:39Pressure in his face.
02:41Steps away.
02:42Fires on the run.
02:44Incomplete.
02:44Tried to get it to Devontae Smith,
02:46but Tyler Newbin was there to make a play,
02:49and it's second down.
02:50So without the starting center and Juergens,
02:52without A.J. Brown, we'll see some different names today.
02:55Brett Toth will get the start at center.
02:57He played last week when Juergens went out.
02:59He played the week before against the Giants when Dickerson was out.
03:02And then Jahan Dotson, who's the team's number three receiver,
03:04will get a lot of play.
03:05So will Grant Calcaterra, the backup tight end.
03:07He's been out last couple weeks.
03:09See A.J. Brown hurt that hamstring,
03:11that last catch that sealed the game against Minnesota last week.
03:16Eagles go Jumbo on second and 10.
03:18Here is Barkley, left side.
03:21Big hole.
03:22Oh, Barkley!
03:23Uh-oh!
03:25Barkley!
03:26Goodbye!
03:37I guess the run game's back.
03:38Well, that's what we're used to seeing from this team.
03:43His first 20-yard rush of the season right there.
03:47And not a good sign for the Giants' defense.
03:50They've given up a lot of yards rushing on the interior defense,
03:53and this is just a simple, call this a duo play.
03:56You get a bunch of double teams.
03:58Saquon reads it out the back door,
04:00and then Nubin can't get him on the ground.
04:01The safety's job, that's why they call him safety.
04:04You're the last line of defense.
04:06Got to get him on the ground,
04:07and they couldn't do there with Saquon.
04:11Kick is up and good.
04:13Saquon Barkley has had 60 yards or less of rushing five straight games.
04:18He rips off 65 yards on his first carry.
04:20Oh, it feels so good.
04:21Entire offensive line has been looking for this,
04:24just to find that mojo.
04:25And they're there under center.
04:26They were under center much more last week.
04:30And that's how they kind of want this offense to go.
04:32Keep that defensive line guessing a little bit.
04:34Is it run or pass?
04:35Thibodeau doesn't make the play.
04:38They can't slow him down at the defensive front.
04:40And Saquon out the gate.
04:43And I love seeing the receivers go in there.
04:47Devontae Smith in there.
04:48He knew right away.
04:50Get that hand up.
04:51Spring your man for the touchdown block.
04:55And off to the races.
04:56What a feeling.
04:57He had so many of those last year, did Saquon.
05:00I mean, he was a home run threat waiting to happen.
05:03You see his first long one here today.
05:05Obviously a record from yards from scrimmage.
05:07He had 760-plus TDs last year.
05:10That's number one on this year.
05:13And so what a start for the Eagles in this rematch.
05:16And Jackson Dart says, all right.
05:18His first trip here to South Philadelphia will get his chance in just a moment.
05:22He's got it on the return for the Giants up to the 30 and out to the 31.
05:44And so we will see Jackson Dart.
05:47And he sat behind Russell Wilson for a couple games.
05:50And, you know, Tom, it's looked like he's belonged in these four starts.
05:53Yeah, as he's injected this youthful life into this team.
05:57And his energy, his excitement, I think everyone's feeding off it.
05:59The offensive line feeds off it.
06:01The defensive line feeds off it.
06:03They're watching him from the sideline, watching him make all these plays.
06:06And I think just tactically what he's done, such a great job on third down,
06:10extending drives with his legs, making those loose plays,
06:14allowing that offense get down the field and put themselves in position to score.
06:25Dart's going to give it to Skadaboo off the right side.
06:28He has been great.
06:29And Skadaboo pulls his way up to the 35 behind this Giants offensive line,
06:35which is playing pretty well these days.
06:37And they've run the ball a lot more with Skadaboo, who is a blast.
06:40I mean, he's basically a human battering ram.
06:43But he's having some big-time games.
06:44He had a three-touchdown game against Philly two weeks ago.
06:52Giants get Darius Slayton back today.
06:54He's missed the last two games with a hamstring injury.
06:56That's good news in the wide receiver department.
07:00Run it again.
07:00Penalty flag flies.
07:02Skadaboo up the middle.
07:03We'll see what this flag is.
07:05It'll be about third down and three if it stands.
07:07But
07:07looks like it's going to be on the Giants.
07:22Offside.
07:23Offense number 82 lined up in the neutral zone at the snap.
07:27Five-yard penalty.
07:28Second down.
07:29So they get Daniel Bellinger for lining up in the neutral zone.
07:36Giants have had penalty issues.
07:38They're the fifth most penalized team in the NFL.
07:41That's certainly for a team that's running the ball as much as you just can't get behind
07:45the sticks.
07:45And I'd say in the last four games, other than turnovers, getting behind the sticks has been
07:49a problem.
07:50Got to eliminate those unforced errors today.
07:52Here's Dart.
07:57Looking to throw.
07:58Pressure.
07:59Steps away.
08:00Tripped up from behind that time.
08:04Jay Lux Hunt, who had a pick six last week in Minnesota, delivers his first sack.
08:09Here's Hunt on the bottom against Andrew Thomas, who hasn't given up a sack all season, but
08:15just the effort to trace back when he doesn't get him on the initial move.
08:19And Jackson Dart has not been caught from behind very much.
08:22But with this athletic defensive line, he's got to be aware of those guys behind him all
08:26day long.
08:27Officially, it does not go down at his sack as Dart got back to the line of scrimmage.
08:31So we'll call it third and ten.
08:32Four-man rush, quick hitter outside, and that goes nowhere.
08:42The Eagles are all over Theo Johnson, and the Giants will have to punt it away as Zach
08:47Vaughn was there on the stop.
08:51Absolutely perfect start for this Philadelphia team playing at home.
08:55Now their crowd is into it.
08:57Saquon looking like he did last year.
08:59The defense three and out.
09:00They are trying to forget what happened to them two weeks ago in the Meadowlands.
09:04Yeah, different start, no doubt.
09:06Xavier Gibson back deep to receive on the Jamie Gillen punt.
09:20Gibson calls fair catch and makes it up at the 25.
09:24And so, Saquon and the Eagles off to a racing start.
09:2965 yards and a touchdown to be exact, and they'll get it back.
09:32Make it 7-0 Eagles early.
09:36Well, you look at the standings in this NFC East.
09:39Eagles lead it with 5-2.
09:40Cowboys 3-3-1 with that explosive offense.
09:43Commanders 3-4, and Daniels is hurt this week.
09:45And then the Giants, 2-5, playing better ball, but 2-2 with Dart starting.
09:51Certainly, they let one get away in Denver.
09:52They had a 19-point fourth quarter lead, 18 points with under six minutes to go,
09:56and stood on that one Monday.
09:58But new week here, and off to a tough start with a big Saquon Barkley 65-yard touchdown run.
10:06Second possession for the Eagles.
10:08Give it to Barkley again on the left side, and he spins around and scoots his way up
10:13to about the 30 for a 5-yard run.
10:16So now this Giants defense, and we told you who the Eagles are missing.
10:18Well, the Giants secondary is big-time depleted today.
10:21They are without their starting safety, Javon Holland,
10:24and their starting top corner, Paulson Adebo.
10:26That is a problem, especially communication-wise.
10:29Well, that's all a problem, and I think the number one problem I've seen today already
10:32is the run defense, and they've got to shore that up quickly.
10:35They have not done a very good job in their run defense all year.
10:37They're giving up 5-3 a carry.
10:40So this offense will run the ball all day long if you continue to let them gash them.
10:45They've got to do better than five yards a clip.
10:52Only one wide receiver here, so they run it.
10:55Again, coming out to the near side.
10:56Tank Bixby, explosive run there, and a stiff arm at Bixby,
11:00who barely gets any play in the backfield.
11:03In fact, just one carry all year.
11:05That time, delivers 17.
11:08Yeah, expecting Thibodeau on the outside to set the edge
11:11and keep the entire front.
11:13I'm sorry, that's Burns.
11:15Trying to keep Bixby inside.
11:18There's no one out there on the perimeter,
11:19so if you don't set the edge,
11:20and that means funnel the ball back into the interior D-line,
11:23the running back just runs outside until he gets tired.
11:26Bixby stays in.
11:32Go, go, go, go, go, go.
11:34What's up?
11:39On the fake.
11:40Hurts with some pressure.
11:42Over the middle.
11:42Wide open is caught by Devontae Smith.
11:44We get a penalty flag, too, back by the quarterback,
11:48and we'll see how this all holds up.
11:52Holding.
11:52Coming back.
11:53Offense, number 65, 10-yard penalty, still first down.
11:58Get it on Lane Johnson,
11:59who was working against Abdul Carter that time.
12:02Yeah, and that just speed off the edge on Abdul Carter.
12:05Lane just couldn't get the good initial kick step,
12:08so he went for the tackle and said it's a good tackle,
12:11just not good in pass blocking.
12:12Right, exactly.
12:14Lane Johnson's still one of the best,
12:16if not the best right tackle,
12:17and Carter, the Giants' number one overall pick,
12:20third overall, he only has a half a sack,
12:22but he's got 19 quick pressures,
12:24which leads the NFL, actually,
12:25so he's had some big moments.
12:32That's first and long.
12:34Barkley, big hole left side.
12:35Barkley all the way up to the 45.
12:3846-yard line, gaping hole so far
12:40for this run game,
12:42and Nick Sirianni in his fifth year,
12:44Super Bowl, two appearances, one win last year,
12:47and he's 4-0 against the Giants at home,
12:49and the Giants haven't won here in a millennium,
12:52it feels like.
12:53They've lost 12 straight in Philadelphia.
12:56And they've got to shore up this run defense,
12:59and this run offense that we said
13:00is a bit maligned this year.
13:02Saquon just has not been able to get
13:04to the second level of defense
13:05before he's gotten hit,
13:06and what you've seen here early,
13:07he is getting through the initial line of scrimmage,
13:10and once he's there,
13:11he's so dangerous
13:11because he's impossible to bring down in the open field.
13:14Instead of a screen, Barkley,
13:15he's got some blocks.
13:16Barkley, nice cut.
13:17Barkley, first down.
13:19So they take that first and 20,
13:21and they turn it into a quick first down,
13:23and Barkley heavily involved early.
13:25Nice job by Kevin Petula,
13:31the offensive coordinator.
13:32You get this really difficult pass rush defensive front
13:36that's looking for sacks,
13:38and one way to slow all those guys down
13:40is screen them.
13:42You build these plays into your game plan.
13:45When you know,
13:45you just don't have to deal with Burns.
13:46You've got to deal with Lawrence.
13:47You've got to deal with Carter.
13:48You've got to deal with everybody.
13:49So every play as an offensive play caller,
13:52you are conscious of that rush,
13:54and it's factored into every play call you make today.
13:58Here's Tank Bixby in his second carry today.
14:01That time stacked up well by the Giants.
14:03Abdul-Carter was right there.
14:04Sometimes what happens
14:06when you only have one good rusher,
14:07you can dedicate portions of your offensive line
14:10to that player.
14:11When you've got four good pass rushers,
14:13like the Giants do,
14:14it's more of a game-planning situation
14:16that Petula has to get into.
14:17The best thing you can do is run the ball
14:19because then they never get a chance to pass rush,
14:22and that's really where this Giants defense
14:23has kind of fumbled this year.
14:26They haven't been able to get them
14:27into must-pass situations
14:29where they can unleash those guys to the quarterback.
14:31Yeah, and the flip side of things,
14:32the Eagles have been really not good
14:34on first and second down.
14:35They've got the most three and outs in the league
14:37because of it.
14:37Obviously today, better.
14:39Bill Shipley in the game of running backs,
14:41so they're using every running back early.
14:44Hurts in trouble.
14:46Runs away.
14:47Jalen Hurts.
14:48Good move.
14:49Stays on his feet.
14:50Down to the 35.
14:51He goes.
14:51Hurts, who hasn't run as much this year,
14:54picks up seven yards.
14:56Still obviously a threat to do it
14:58because he's such a powerful runner,
15:00and he always has these good instincts in the pocket.
15:02Whenever I watch him play,
15:03it's like the D-line's almost there to get him,
15:06and then nope, he just squirts away,
15:07and they can't quite get him.
15:08Just like that.
15:10So that dual threat for him is still very viable.
15:14Yeah, it makes it a third and three,
15:15and this is what Nick Sirianni was telling us.
15:17Like, we've had so many third and longs
15:19haven't had these situations on this offense.
15:23Important play,
15:24and this is when they usually get a lot of man coverage.
15:27This tends to be their best man player down here,
15:30Devontae Smith, today with A.J. Brown out.
15:32Four-man rush.
15:34Hurts way back there.
15:37Looking.
15:38Has a way to go,
15:39and he's not going to get there.
15:40Giants played it well.
15:41O'Kara K. saw it, knocked him out of bounds,
15:44and now it's fourth down.
15:48And the Eagles go for it as much as anybody,
15:50and they're going to keep the offense out there.
15:52Just a huge stop here
15:56that the Giants are going to need here early in the game.
15:58You'd never want to go on the road in the first quarter,
16:00ten minutes into the game,
16:01and be down two scores.
16:03So, I know it's early,
16:04but a hugely important play
16:05for the confidence in this defense as well.
16:20And here we go.
16:21The penalty flags fly.
16:23Everybody's pointing at everybody else.
16:29I think the Eagles might be moving back here.
16:31Let's see.
16:36Yeah.
16:37Tyler Steen.
16:38Ball start.
16:39Offense.
16:40Number 64.
16:42Five-yard penalty.
16:43Fourth down.
16:47So, that'll change the thinking.
16:49They get Toth instead on the penalty,
16:52and instead of fourth and three,
16:53it's fourth and eight.
16:55And they will change up the strategy.
16:57They'll bring on Jake Elliott now
16:58for a long field goal.
17:02Elliott's having a good year.
17:03As usual, reliable self.
17:05As long this year is 58.
17:07This one also from 58 yards out.
17:16He was good in warm-ups from 57.
17:18So, this is right in the wheelhouse.
17:20Elliott boots it up, and he hits off the post.
17:30No good.
17:32And we get a flag and whistles on the field.
17:36Hang on.
17:41Giants offense coming on the field right now.
17:43See the escort of Thibodeau off.
17:46Sirianni is screaming at the officials.
17:48Well, here's what we know.
17:54The field goal hit off the post.
17:55No good.
17:55Right there.
17:57So, the Giants make a stand.
17:59Down 7-0.
17:59They'll get it back.
18:03Well, Nick Sirianni was so hot during the break
18:05because there was clearly a whistle during that play.
18:07It turns out there was not a flag.
18:08Listen in.
18:14Obviously, you're not supposed to hear a whistle
18:16when a field goal is midair.
18:17Dean Blandino, what exactly happened there?
18:20Absolutely.
18:20If the officials blew the whistle during the play,
18:23that's an erroneous whistle, and really, you should redo it.
18:26I think that's what Coach Sirianni was upset about.
18:28We just don't know where the whistle came from.
18:31Yeah.
18:32Couldn't tell that.
18:33There was no flag thrown, and that's what the confusion is.
18:36That whistle blown mid-kick.
18:39However you slice it, the Giants on a big fourth down
18:42get the penalty and missed field goal,
18:43and they get it back only down 7.
18:45And now here's Dart.
18:46Pressure.
18:47Steps away.
18:48Dart.
18:49Oh, takes a couple hits, and then finally taken down for a sack
18:52as we welcome in Tom Rinaldi.
18:55I can't wait to go out there and feel the hostility in the air.
18:59That's what Jackson Dart said about making his first-ever start here in Philadelphia.
19:03He felt some hostility there, obviously being slammed down to the turf.
19:06He compared it to rivalries that he would face in Georgia and Alabama and the SEC.
19:12That's the swag that's associated with him as he came on out to the vet.
19:16Believe me, the hostility is loud and real behind that bench right now, guys,
19:20and from the Eagles' front.
19:21Yeah, they don't love you if you don't play for the birds here in town, that's for sure.
19:25Here's Scattaboo up the middle, and Scattaboo gets a good feel.
19:28Although, I'll tell you what, walking out of the tunnel with you today, Tom Brady chants.
19:32Did you ever think you'd hear that in Philadelphia?
19:34I never did.
19:34I mean, the city of brotherly love?
19:36Are you kidding me?
19:37To embrace you.
19:37Everybody from Philly knows that the city of brotherly love is the most sarcastic nickname
19:43in all of football.
19:44But yes, they have been so great to me, and they should feel great about me
19:48kicking my butt in the Super Bowl and Super Bowl 52.
19:51They won't be great to Jackson Dart.
19:53No.
19:54He's going to feel all that hostility today.
19:5837.
20:024-man rush.
20:09Dart looking.
20:12Going to try to make it happen with his legs, and Dart will make it up.
20:14He slides down.
20:16Where do they mark him down?
20:17That was close.
20:18So close.
20:19It looks like he's going to get a good spot and have it.
20:22Yeah, it's right when you decide to slide against him, they mark you,
20:25and they give him the first down, and this is the one area that we did mention in the pregame.
20:29His scrambling on third down to extend drives is kind of the one thing I've watched on film
20:35that's been different when he's been in the game.
20:38Extending drives, this gives them now a chance to give the ball to Scadaboo more in the run game,
20:43and those two together, and this kind of dynamic playmaking has been so important for this offense
20:49to score points.
20:50Here's Scadaboo right up the middle, and Scadaboo bouncing off people like he usually does
20:56and turns nothing into something to pick up five.

21:20What's coming?
21:21Dart sees underneath it.
21:23Slayton, welcome back.
21:24Good move and cut.
21:25Darius Slayton inside the 20.
21:27Good to have him back.
21:28He missed the last two games with a hamstring,
21:30and without Malik Neighbors, who's out for the year, he's a big piece.
21:34Yeah, very simple route concept.
21:35This is a diagonal from the inside and a slant from the outside.
21:38Very easy for the quarterback to read.
21:40All that space with Dejean, Dart makes a very decisive throw.
21:45See it, and then fire it and cut it loose.
21:48Good sign there early in the game.
21:55Another blitz.
21:57Dart protected throat.
21:58It is caught for the touchdown.
22:01Dart beat the blitz.
22:02Scadaboo on the receiving end, and the Giants are in for six.
22:11Wait a minute.
22:11He's a runner and a pass catcher?
22:13Oh, yes, he is.
22:14Here he is right in the backfield, one-on-one,
22:17with the outside linebacker, Johnson,
22:21and can't keep up with him.
22:23Scadaboo too quick, too elusive, got great hands.
22:28The dynamic duo back at it, getting him right back on the board.
22:31His second receiving TD on the year.
22:33Scadaboo, I'll tell you what, remember, he started the year barely playing.
22:37He's got seven touchdowns combined already.
22:40Here's Graham Gonneau, who's also back.
22:41Missed a month with a groin injury, and that extra point is up and good.
22:45So the rookies, which have given the Giants so much life,
22:48take it in the atmosphere for the game.
22:50They get their bro hug down.
22:52They get their TD hookup going.
22:547-7 NFC East in Philly.
22:58Welcome back to Lincoln Financial Field.
23:01Here in Philadelphia, 7-7 game.
23:03Jackson Dart finds Cam Scadaboo for an 18-yard touchdown reception.
23:08Giants have scored a touchdown in each of the last nine quarters now,
23:11and these two rookies have been a big part of it.
23:13And think about that important early part of the game.
23:18Fourth and three, Eagles had.
23:19They get a penalty.
23:19They make it fourth and eight.
23:20Then a 58-yard field goal hits off the post.
23:23Giants get it back, drive down, score a touchdown.
23:26Change the early feel of this one.
23:28So now it's Will Shipper on the return.
23:38And Shipper with a big return.
23:41Oh, good one.
23:41Up across the 45 to about the 47.
23:44Tom, back to the touchdown.
23:45How did Scadaboo get so open?
23:47Yeah, very creative play design.
23:49You got the rush by Dean, which frees up Johnson to be in coverage.
23:53This is a rail route.
23:55He always is supposed to run outside of the defensive end.
23:59But when he feels the defensive end runs with that kind of speed,
24:02he slips him, which is a veteran move.
24:05That's like a James White sweet feet move that I would expect.
24:09Make a good decision when you feel him overrun it.
24:12Slip him, and, man, make it an easy touchdown.
24:15Some great football from some young players.
24:17It's like they've been playing together for a long time.
24:19Eagles get it back after that big return from Shipley.
24:26It is Barkley off to a fast start.
24:29And in the Giants territory, he goes, you know, we're talking about the run game,
24:32and people are wondering what's going on with this Eagles run game.
24:35Is it Saquon as the offensive line?
24:36But you were telling me it's kind of been everything, right?
24:39It's been a lot of things.
24:39And you have these magical years, which everyone just expects you to come back
24:43and have another magical year, 2,000 yards rushing.
24:46But every year is different.
24:47Now what you're seeing from the defenses, they're loading up to try to stop the run.
24:51And not to mention, they haven't had the same offensive line continuity.
24:55Tos in there today at center.
24:57Steen's in there.
24:57He's very athletic.
24:58But he's not, you know, the man child that Makai Becton was last year.
25:03Landon Dickerson's been fighting some injuries.
25:04So a little continuity issues, a little scheme issues,
25:07and defenses gearing up to stop it has forced them to adjust.
25:10A little pop pass this time going over to Gibson, who's got some great speed,
25:13and he gets popped out of bounds.
25:15Giants roll over from Drew Phillips to Nickelback.
25:19Nicely done.
25:19I'll bring up a third down.
25:22Yeah, I like what you said.
25:23You said Barkley's still making people miss, but a little different this time.
25:26Yeah, because last year, he was getting through that first line of defense.
25:30Then he would make a linebacker miss, and then he's down into the secondary.
25:34This year, the defensive line are showing up on him.
25:37That first-level defense is penetrating the line of scrimmage, forcing Saquon to stop,
25:41then adjust his movements, and then the linebackers are there to clean him up.
25:44So it's a very different run style that I've seen from him this season.
25:48One-eighty, and she'll go down, Lynn!
25:54Third four.
25:56Hurts protected.
25:58Throws over the middle.
25:59Got a little way to go here.
26:00And good tackling as Barkley is brought down immediately that time.
26:04There's Okereke, short-handed tackler.
26:06And kind of back where we started will be a fourth down and about three.
26:10And they're going to stay with the offense and go for it.
26:19Got an opportunity to try to just draw them off sides.
26:22That's one form they could try or, you know, be super aggressive and go for it here early in the game.
26:27Go, go, go, go, go!
26:36Hey, we got...
26:37Hurts pressured.
26:40Steps away.
26:41He's going to get it.
26:43Broke through the pressure.
26:44Hurts picks up the first down.
26:49And this pass-rush discipline, when you rush him,
26:52at some point you have to try to build a wall.
26:55And it's a challenging thing for a defensive lineman,
26:58because you want to be aggressive to get the sack.
27:01So you kind of take an edge on one of your linemen,
27:03but then you expose that open lane for such an elusive runner like Jalen to run.
27:09Final seconds, first quarter.
27:11Gets some movement.
27:15Multiple flags.
27:16This is a big conversation.
27:29I'll start offense number 69.
27:32The defender was not in the neutral zone.
27:35Still will be first down.
27:36So, Eagles will move it on back.
27:39And the clock winds down in this first quarter.
27:49Fun one from Philadelphia.
27:51Giants and Eagles all tied up at 7.
27:56That's first quarter stats for you.
27:58Saquon Barkley, a 65-yard touchdown run on the second play of the game.
28:02Giants answered back with a Jackson dart to Cam Scadaboo touchdown reception.
28:07And so we're tied at 7.
28:10Starting the second quarter, glad to have you aboard.
28:11There's Shane Bowen, the Giants defensive coordinator,
28:14who took some heat this week.
28:16But it wasn't just him.
28:17I mean, they blew a 19-point fourth quarter lead.
28:19A lot of errors in that one.
28:21Turnover killed them.
28:22In a game they obviously should have won.
28:25Eagles have a 1st and 15 to start this second quarter.
28:36The play fake hurts over the middle.
28:40Devontae Smith in stride.
28:43Smith, perfect pass.
28:45And Smith takes it down to the 20.
28:46What a beauty that was as he beat Cordell Flott for 26 yards.
28:50Now this one little cue, when you watch Saquon looking right
28:54and he's looking at his protection,
28:57it's probably not a run when he's scanning his eyes like that.
28:59He knows he's got to pick up.
29:01This is just what we call a drift concept or a pop pass.
29:05Hard sell play action fake.
29:06The linebackers step up in the line of scrimmage
29:08and then you get this all-pro receiver, Devontae Smith, behind him.
29:12Easy throw and catch.
29:16Devontae Smith had a monster week last week.
29:18Career-high 183 yards, including a 79-yard touchdown.
29:23Here's Hurts again.
29:24Rifles went over the middle.
29:25Incomplete.
29:26He was looking for Smith again, but a little high on the throw.
29:30This is almost the exact same play they threw last week
29:33to A.J. Brown for a touchdown.
29:35A little different coverage.
29:36It's called a topper route.
29:38Two posts.
29:39He's got the outside post and there's Burns.
29:41Cannot afford to have him out for too long.
29:45Stayed out of the blue tent.
29:46Just put me on the bench, coach.
29:49Don't even got to worry.
29:50He was banged up this week.
29:53Hip and ankle injuries.
29:54Hopefully get him back in the game.
29:55He leads the league in sacks.
30:05Barkley.
30:05And nothing doing there.
30:08Into that Giants defensive line, Tom.
30:10I think they've had their moments this year, but I think Giants fans are like,
30:13man, this line's supposed to be amazing.
30:14They've been good, but they're inconsistent, right?
30:16They just haven't been able to tee off on what they're great at
30:20because you're thinking of Burns with nine sacks and Dexter Lawrence,
30:23who had such nine sacks last year, doesn't have any this year.
30:26And this third overall pick, Abdul Carter, his ability to rest the passer.
30:30But you've got to get them in passing situations.
30:33And because they've struggled to stop the run, certainly the inside runs,
30:36it just doesn't allow them to tee off and make those impactful, turnover-worthy plays.
30:41So Burns back on the field for the Giants with his nine sacks.
30:45Here's Hurts in third and long.
30:47A lot of time.
30:50Hurts can't find it.
30:52We're going to take off now.
30:53Hurts racing for the first down.
30:55Bucked out of bounds right near it.
30:57We'll see where they mark it.
30:58And it looks like a pretty good spot as Burns was there to chase him and hit him.
31:02Now we'll see where they officially put it down.
31:06But it looked like from here that he got it.
31:13And you see, there's no way that should be a, you know,
31:17roughing, unnecessary roughness on the defense.
31:20And they throw a flag.
31:21I mean, he was inbounds, right?
31:23He's going for it on third down.
31:26And he's still inbounds.
31:31After replay assist, there is no foul for the quarterback being hit late out of bounds.
31:36I mean, I just think the aggressiveness of the runner,
31:40you know, you've got to allow the defense to be aggressive, too.
31:42So just a good call.
31:43And I love how the quarterback's going to escape and scramble.
31:45And here he is trying to cage him in the pocket.
31:48And then Hurts gets out.
31:49And he's just a running back at this point.
31:51And that defender has every chance to defend every blade of grass.
31:55And Carter did a good job of that.
31:57Well, then they mark it short, Tom.
31:59So they say fourth down, which is interesting.
32:01I wonder if Sirianni's thinking about challenging this.
32:05I thought first glance, he had it.
32:09So now they get into the tush push.
32:11Tush push hurts, leans forward.
32:27Ball is taken away from Kayvon Thibodeau.
32:30Did they blow the whistle?
32:31It looks like they did.
32:33Now, you can't reach the ball forward unless you're at the goal line.
32:37It's a live ball when you do that.
32:39Oh.
32:41Well, there was a lot there.
32:42I thought he had the first down initially, first of all.
32:44And then that, Dean, that's a live ball, right?
32:48They're ruling forward progress.
32:50To me, he is pushing forward.
32:52He is reaching.
32:53That is an early whistle, in my opinion.
32:55Oh, my God.
32:56They defend it, and they get the fumble, but all for nothing.
33:02Yeah, that's tough.
33:03That should be a fumble.
33:04I mean, again, you get when you're at the goal line,
33:06and now there's a timeout on the field.
33:08Just Brian Dable saying, what's going on here?
33:12If this is the goal line, that's a touchdown, right?
33:15You're allowed to do it.
33:15But in this situation, when you're reaching for a first down,
33:18it is a live ball.
33:19He's definitely not down.
33:21And I think part of the problem that we discussed in the past,
33:23it's hard to officiate, which is the challenge with the play.
33:26He is very much still up and reaching out,
33:29and Thibodeau makes a great play seeing the ball
33:32and snatching away from him.
33:35And the key here is they ruled progress.
33:39The Giants can't challenge.
33:40They could, but that ball would have to come out immediately.
33:44Because you don't know on a replay when the whistle was blown.
33:47You can't challenge that part of it, right?
33:49So, but then, of course, why do you blow the whistle, Dean?
33:53Is that just part of the officiating issue with this play?
33:56That's part of the issue.
33:57It's part of the issue with all short yardage plays.
33:59But again, you want to see his progress stop before you kill it.
34:05There's been a lot of discussion.
34:07The coaches have not been super happy with some of the calls.
34:10Fly, fly, fly!
34:11Don't accept!
34:12And the whistle seemed like that was after it.
34:22I mean, you see Dable is hot, rightfully so.
34:26So, Sirianni was living because the whistle blew in the Eagles' field goal miss,
34:29which that play should have been blown dead and done again.
34:32And now Dable's got one.
34:33He says that should be a fumble, and I think both were right.
34:39We ruled forward progress on the play for a first down.
34:42New York had challenged the play.
34:44I explained to them that since we ruled forward progress,
34:47there was no challenge on the play.
34:49It will be first down Philadelphia.
34:51So, after all of that,
34:54first down for the Eagles.
35:07Now, Dable throwing a challenge flag here.
35:10What is he...
35:11What is he going to challenge?
35:14You can't challenge the forward progress.
35:24Dean, what is he...
35:25What can he challenge here?
35:27The only thing he could challenge was that the ball came out upon immediate contact by the defense.
35:35All right, so I think we will have a challenge,
35:36and we'll go and figure this whole situation out.
35:39Maybe.
35:40Possibly.
35:40You know me.
35:41Back after this.
35:42Oh, both coaches not happy with the officiating today.
35:46It has the rhythm of like an Elaine Bennis dance on Seinfeld.
35:49It's...
35:49I mean, wow.
35:51It's been all out of whack.
35:53After everything, Giants lose the challenge, so they lose the timeout.
35:56It's first and goal for the Eagles inside their own 10,
35:59and will resume play here.
36:09Here is Barkley looking for a seam.
36:11Not much.
36:12Giants stacked it up well there.
36:14Rakim Nunez, Rochas, your former teammate.
36:17Man, they lovingly call Nacho in on the stop.
36:20It'll bring up a second down.
36:21Oh, yeah.
36:22Nacho showing that juice.
36:23That's what he did in practice.
36:24The first day of training camp when he would stop run plays.
36:27And talk about infectious.
36:29Get guys like that bringing the juice, bringing the energy.
36:32Look at it.
36:32Oh, yeah.
36:33Even as he runs off the field.
36:34That is great.
36:35Look at everyone fired up.
36:37Keep bringing it, Nacho.
36:38Second and goal.
36:49Blitz coming.
36:50Hurts.
36:50Barkley.
36:51Wide open.
36:52Touchdown, Philadelphia.
36:54Very similar to the Cam Scadaboo touchdown.
37:09Someone's got to peel with him.
37:11Either the defensive end when they blitz that backer, but Thibodeau doesn't.
37:15And no one's on Saquon.
37:19That's pretty easy.
37:21About as easy as it gets.
37:23Saquon Barkley having his best game of the year.
37:26Two touchdowns, one in the air, one on the ground.
37:29And the Eagles jump back in front as Elliott, point after, is up and good.
37:35So a little controversy on that drive.
37:37On the fourth down, Tushbush.
37:39Eagles the benefit.
37:40Barkley the touchdown.
37:4214-7 Philly.
37:45I'm cool like that.
37:51I'm cool like that.
37:52I'm cool like that.
37:53I'm cool.
38:01I'm cool like that.
38:03That's so good.
38:04The old school Kelly Green back into effect.
38:06The throwback uniforms and the logos today brings you back to just good stuff here in Philadelphia.
38:13And an old school NFC East battle today.
38:17The Giants beat the Eagles two weeks ago in the Meadowlands.
38:20And now the Eagles up 14-7 in this one.
38:23Two Saquon Barkley touchdowns having his best day of the early season.
38:27Now the kick return by Osheski.
38:30That's a little seam.
38:32And that closes up up across the 30.
38:34So the Eagles, it shows you the old school flavor.
38:36The Giants bringing the new school flavor with Cam Scadaboo.
38:39Look at the bottom left of this picture at the Knicks game.
38:42That is the Giants starting running back.
38:45That is amazing.
38:47Amazing.
38:47He is having the time of his life.
38:52And look at that.
38:53That's how he just, his little touchdown dance.
38:56Oh my goodness.
38:56All that juice that he's brought to this team.
38:59It's infectious.
39:00And it means a lot.
39:02And let's see if they can ride these young guys today in a tough environment.
39:05It's just so good.
39:07And he's performed well too.
39:08But he gets a breather as Tyrone Tracy starts his drive in the backfield for New York.
39:13They give it to Tracy.
39:16He had a long touchdown run last week.
39:18But this time he's swarmed by N'Kobe Dean.
39:23Eagles are happy to have N'Kobe Dean back.
39:25He had that difficult patellar tear and the knee tear in the playoffs last year.
39:29Came back a couple weeks ago but didn't play on D.
39:32Played a lot last week.
39:33And they're kind of welcoming him back in.
39:35What a player he is.
39:37And everyone thought that was such a big deal when they lost him last year.
39:39They tried to replace him and they drafted Jahad Campbell.
39:44But man, he has come back with a vengeance.
39:51Here's Dart.
39:53Steps away from pressure.
39:55Now he's in trouble.
39:56Hunt on him.
39:56Dart reversing field.
39:59Looking, throwing.
40:00It is caught.
40:02Wow.
40:03Dart did a lot of running for about an eight-yard completion.
40:05But that was well done to Slayton.
40:07And Blankenship, the safety and coverage, is like, how long do I have to cover this guy for?
40:12Here's Blankenship.
40:13The half field safety.
40:14He ends up being on the pass defense.
40:16But it's zone coverage.
40:17So Dart using the legs and the powerful legs that he has to extend.
40:23And ends up buying Slayton there on the sideline.
40:26It's a lot of yards traveled for an eight-yard game.
40:28And it brings up a third down and two.
40:35Four-man rush near side.
40:37Tracy's got a first down.
40:38Tyrone Tracy.
40:40You know, he got hurt and then Scadaboo got all the opportunities.
40:42He kind of took over the starting job.
40:44He had a shoulder separation against the Chiefs.
40:47But it's kind of a nice one-two punch now with him back.
40:50Yeah, very great, especially as a pass catcher.
40:52So Scadaboo doesn't have to go the distance.
40:54And they've transitioned to more of Scadaboo having most of the play time.
40:57But Tracy comes in there.
40:59And you're not missing much.
41:00You're missing the power.
41:01But you're not missing some of the playmaking.
41:03Yeah, Tracy's a former wide receiver who turned into a running back.
41:05So he's got that skill set.
41:07And the third down conversion.
41:09First down, here they go.
41:10Tracy into Eagles territory.
41:14We've got our first game break.
41:15Let's say hello to Carissa Thompson.
41:17Hello, Kevin.
41:18Ravens still without Lamar Jackson.
41:20Derek Henry's going to walk this one in for the score.
41:22And he now passes the legend Walter Payton for fifth all-time in rushing touchdowns.
41:27Ravens lead this one 7-6 over the Bears.
41:29Kev?
41:30Wow, that's a momentous occasion, passing Walter Payton.
41:34And Bears have won four in a row all of a sudden, by the way.
41:37Yeah, three turnovers in four straight games.
41:39Or three turnovers in three straight games.
41:40That really leads to a lot of teams to win.
41:42And you get that turnover margin up.
41:44And both these teams have talked about turnover margins today.
41:48Both got to protect the ball.
41:49As Tracy put a hard run from Tracy's.
41:52And now a flag flies in.
41:56As Tracy will be about a yard short right now.
41:59See what the penalty is.
42:00It's been a game filled with penalties and controversies so far.
42:04There's Tracy running with some power, too.
42:16So how does Scott Obey infect even Tracy's run style?
42:19It's, like I said, it's infectious.
42:21You come in there with that juice and that attitude running through people,
42:24Tracy sees it as well.
42:26Offense, number 17.
42:2810-yard benefit from the spot of the foul.
42:30Second down.
42:31He can't quite do it.
42:33He's already going down.
42:37That's kind of a weak call.
42:39Yeah, I don't think that affected anything.
42:42But moving on back.
42:44Take away a nice play.
42:45Do you think these coaches and officials are going to go out for dinner later?
42:51I think there's definitely going to be some pleasantries explained at halftime.
42:56Exactly what are we doing out there?
42:58Let them play.
42:59Let them play.
43:02It'll be a second down.
43:03Scannaboo back in the game for the Giants.
43:07Eagles show blitz with Vaughn as an edge rusher here.
43:10Play clock winding down and winding down to zero, and the Giants are moving back.
43:15Delay a game.
43:17Offense.
43:18Five-yard penalty.
43:20Still second down.
43:20The Eagles are just trying to manipulate their front a little bit
43:23and screw up the communication between dart and the offensive line.
43:27And when you shift those guys around, the quarterback's got to kind of re-situate the pass protection.
43:32And sometimes a rookie quarterback forgets the play clock.
43:35And it just kind of winds its way down, and, you know, that's a good, solid play there by the Eagles' defense.
43:45Second and long.
43:47Dart.
43:47Pressure up the middle.
43:48Throws.
43:48Tipped, and it's incomplete.
43:51Eagles came free on a stunt up the middle.
43:53I think it was Zach Vaughn that time.
43:55It was on the coverage, and now Scannaboo is slow to get up.
43:59Oh, no.
43:59Oh, his ankle.
44:00Oh, no.
44:03Oh, man.
44:04I'm out for injury.
44:06Just darts' reaction alone.
44:08Oh.
44:09Oh, goodness.
44:12Giants players, Eagles players on their knees.
44:17Terrible scene.
44:21Really a brutal scene here in Philadelphia.
44:23Cam Scannaboo gets a standing ovation going off.
44:26His teammates coming up.
44:32Every night.
44:37And I don't know.
44:39Exactly.
44:39If you miss this, band- pest.
