00:00Wait a minute, this guy doesn't look like Van Damme.
00:02Here's your look at the jaded toys, Street Fighter 2, The Final Challengers, Guile.
00:30Step into the world of Street Fighter 2 with the Ultra Street Fighter 2 Guile 1-12 scale action figure by Jada Toys.
00:36This meticulously crafted collectible action figure brings one of the most iconic characters from the Street Fighter series to life.
00:42As a major in the United States Air Force, Guile is on a mission to bring down the criminal organization Chandelier and uncover the fate of his best friend Charlie Nash.
00:50I think it's kind of ironic that Guile is part of the Air Force because you can seriously land some planes on the top of his hair.
00:55Still though, jokes aside, let's take the tape measure and see how tall.
00:59Well, we'll do our thing, we'll figure out how tall he is, and then we'll bring, of course, in some other Street Fighter figures we've already had a look at from the folks over at Jada Toys.
01:07This was one also like Ken I was really super excited to grab, just because between Ken and Guile, those were my two go-to guys when it comes to playing Street Fighter.
01:15Guile is going to stand a little taller than 6 inches, not by much though.
01:19His hair is going to give him about a 6 1⁄4 inch height, or roughly that's going to work out to be 16 centimeters tall.
01:25Somehow I went from the channel that didn't review any Street Fighter figures to now having a look apparently all of them.
01:30Now, all this week, in fact, also as a shameless plug, we're going to be looking at some more Street Fighter figures, so if that's the kind of thing that brings you to the yard, just know there's more figures coming your way.
01:38In the meantime, though, while I've been yammering on, I've also had the chance to bring in Ryu.
01:43You can see, though, that both Ryu, and because, of course, he's using the same body Ken is, they're going to be shorter in size than Guile, which I think is right.
01:50It's also, things don't change at all when we bring the slightly shorter Chun-Li.
01:54So far, she's the shortest figure we've looked at.
01:57Speaking of short, nothing comes up short when it comes to the accessories for Guile.
02:00I mean, look at just the lay of the land of everything he has.
02:03Not to mention, though, the figure does also come in clear with a background.
02:06This is with the figure when you get him out of the packaging.
02:08I don't know, for some reason, though, I completely forgot to bring in Ken's.
02:11This was Ken's, by the way, sort of a yacht in the background.
02:14These two guys look like they're having fun.
02:16Oh, I can certainly see why.
02:17This side, though, on the other side, you can see it's all the people part of the Air Force.
02:22I'm not really sure what's happening over here and why she's grabbing onto that man's leg.
02:25Either way, though, this is certainly something when it comes to displaying him.
02:28If I just move everything out of the way, you can just take yourself your figure.
02:32Granted, though, more real estate space may be occupied, so you may have to rent your next-door neighbors just to, again, accommodate everything.
02:38But I do like, though, that they include these backgrounds like this.
02:41Even if you don't have any plans to use them, I haven't used them yet.
02:44I just kind of like the fact that they throw in something like that.
02:46It's a good use of packaging because half the time you're just going to be throwing away the cardboard or recycling the cardboard.
02:52Anyways, needless to say, though, let's run through all the things that come in clear with Guile.
02:56First things first, the figure does, if I don't drop it, come in clear with a circular clear acrylic display stand.
03:03And with that, though, the figure does also have an adjustable neck.
03:06Well, it has an adjustable neck.
03:08But the adjustable neck that goes with this accessory piece, it adjusts in two places, and you basically just take that and attach it onto the display stand.
03:15Hey, that's super easy.
03:16You get yourself also the sonic boom.
03:18Sonic boom! Sonic boom!
03:20He throws this thing out.
03:22Kind of like a yin and a yang, although the two aren't really connected.
03:26This, by the way, can be connected as a shameless segue.
03:29There's a hole right here.
03:30You're basically just going to take that and attach it onto the display stand.
03:34Now, normally I would have said, because this, by the way, is using the same stand as Ryu, Ken, and also Chun-Li all have the same.
03:41I kind of really feel, though, with the sonic boom, it needed to be a little higher.
03:44Just because when you're putting it close to Guile, I honestly feel like it's too short.
03:49I'm just going to kind of somewhat simulate what he does.
03:52He kind of just kind of puts his arms out like this.
03:53You would really have to kind of bend the knees for Guile, just kind of make it look like he's firing it off.
03:58But even then, I don't know.
04:00It just seems like it's a little too short.
04:01I would have added a little length of neck.
04:04I know we're kind of already asking a lot anyways, because, I mean, look at all the stuff he already has.
04:08And then this guy behind the camera is like, oh, we need to add another length of neck.
04:12I just think it could have been a little bit longer.
04:13That's just my personal feelings.
04:16The figure does also come included.
04:18Well, let's just fix his boots, by the way.
04:21There we go.
04:22Okay.
04:23On the ends of his forearms currently, the figure does come included with a pair of close fists.
04:28Now, the packaging, he has that like that.
04:30Or what you can do as well is the figure can be swapped out with a couple of swappable hands.
04:34Why am I?
04:35There we go.
04:36All right.
04:37Back to the business.
04:38The figure does have a couple of swappable hands.
04:40He has this hand for this side.
04:42He has this hand for this side.
04:44And you can swap them out.
04:45This also is a thumbs up, but it also serves to be a gripping hand for the next following accessory that we're not going to fall to just yet.
04:52This hand is also like a gestured handle.
04:54It kind of looks like, you know, you can have him pose like this.
04:56You can almost make it look like he's fixing his hair.
04:58Gal would frequently pull out a comb and fix his hair.
05:01And by the way, the figure does also come included with a comb.
05:03Swapping out the hands, by the way, I'm just going to grab and hold on to the forearm.
05:08Don't let go.
05:08Whatever you do.
05:09Grab that.
05:10Remove that.
05:10Take this.
05:11Plug that.
05:12And just plug that in place.
05:13We'll do the exact same thing on this side as well.
05:16And we'll give him the thumbs up hand, which also, again, does serve a purpose.
05:20What also you can do, too, is that you can put the two together.
05:23So it looks like he's making a fist.
05:26Now, if he's serving up knuckle sandwiches, I'm sure not anybody's going to be wanting to stand in line for those.
05:32One way, though, to kind of make use of both hands, if you don't have plans, make use of the hands for other things.
05:36Like, again, you can kind of have it looking like he's fixing his hair.
05:39One of the other things that he has is he does also come included with his comb.
05:43This is very small.
05:45So small.
05:45I was really kind of worried I was going to be losing it.
05:47But just basically put that into his hand.
05:50And it kind of looks like Giles fixing his hair.
05:53And then you can, of course, get him in a pose.
05:55He doesn't really have, like, a smiling face necessarily.
05:58He has sort of this stoic face.
06:00And then he also has more an angrier expression, which is just right over here.
06:04So I like that.
06:05I like that they included hands that kind of really can do more than just one thing.
06:09Nothing is really written in stone that the hands have to be specifically for posing his hair or holding a comb.
06:14You can put the two together.
06:15The man can make knuckle sandwiches instead.
06:17While he's also holding his comb, let's talk a little bit about one other accessory the figure does have.
06:22And that is his dog tags.
06:24Now, initially, I would have thought these dog tags, they're, yeah, using real chains and all.
06:29But surely, though, I mean, can't these things be lost?
06:31First of all, don't call me Shirley.
06:33One thing that kind of works to his aid is that he has this really large hair.
06:37That was one of Giles' notable things.
06:39Jean-Claude Van Damme, unfortunately, couldn't pull off Giles' hair in the Street Fighter film.
06:42I think Jean-Claude Van Damme is a little bit too busy anyways.
06:46The thing that I think is at least a good thing is that you can pop off Giles' head.
06:51And the moment you put the dog tags on, which, by the way, I did want to show you, is a real metal dog tag.
06:56The tags themselves, I would imagine, just be plastic.
06:59But these themselves is a real chain.
07:01Why don't you put it over top of his neck like this?
07:04And securely attach, securely attach his head, which isn't going to roll away on me.
07:08In a way, though, it's kind of a blessing that he has the hair that he has.
07:13Because if you try to tilt the head upside down, there's no way it seems that he can lose his dog tags.
07:19That's probably a good thing.
07:21Because, again, I really think that they could have just sculpted these to his chest.
07:25But now realizing that there's no way.
07:28You're never going to get past this wall.
07:30Look at the size of this man's hair.
07:32Yeah, even upside down.
07:34Gravity working against him, really.
07:35There's no way that the necklace is going to come off.
07:38So that's really a good thing.
07:39I would have to be careful when it comes to swapping out his head sculpt.
07:43Because then I'm going to have to, yeah, obviously make sure I'm not going to lose that.
07:46This, by the way, though, everybody, ladies and gentlemen, is his defaulted head.
07:49Sort of a stoic pose for Guile.
07:52When, again, things known for Guile is the fact he just has this large hair.
07:56I don't know.
07:57To go back and look at the, like, old high school photos of me, I could probably understand why.
08:01A lot of people used to call me Guile in high school.
08:03I could never really, at that time, figure out why.
08:06Till looking at later photos, when I was a little bit older, came to my senses.
08:10My hair used to be just, not crazy like this, but it used to certainly stick up a lot.
08:14Now everybody's imagining what young me would have looked like.
08:18Not to this extreme everybody, but my hair was pretty crazy, though, back in the day.
08:23What can I say?
08:24You're in high school.
08:25You do crazy things.
08:26Apparently crazy things for me involved crazy hair.
08:29I like the head sculpt, though.
08:30So, I do think, though, I think it's maybe a little bit better.
08:33I seem to be following, again, the trend of liking the defaulted head more than the one that's swappable.
08:39If you did want to change out the head, though, I would certainly recommend first holding onto the dog tag.
08:43Popping off the head, which is easy to do.
08:45Take the new head that you want to use and just pop it.
08:48I'll make sure that doesn't get away on you.
08:50And pop it on top of the ball joint.
08:51Now, if you're planning to display this figure with, like, the Sonic Boom, I would think, though, that this is probably the better head to go with.
08:59Just because he's a little bit more determined.
09:01Hair hasn't changed at all.
09:02It's still crazy.
09:04This figure does have, of course, the colors of the green.
09:07There is a blue version of Guile, which so far is probably the only Street Fighter figure that I'm considering getting the second version for.
09:13Because, basically, it just takes his trunks, and it swaps this out for blue, and it gives him, like, the blue camouflage down below.
09:21If you like the classic green, obviously, the defaulted one would be the better one to go with.
09:25But I might actually get the variant costume color, just so I can have the blue version of Guile as well.
09:30I'm going to get this comb out of the way, because I know this thing's going to lose it.
09:34I'm going to look all over the floor.
09:35I'm never going to be able to find it.
09:37If only there was a way he could just have really large hands.
09:40That's not really going to fix the matter of losing a comb, though.
09:42So, certainly things to point out, though, on Guile is the fact he does have the stars and stripes, the American flag, on one side.
09:50He also has it on the other.
09:51Now, the placement of this, I know now realizing why they changed it the way they do it,
09:56so that when you are looking at this, you're always looking at the American flag facing the right way.
10:00A couple of viewers pointed that out to me.
10:02I don't know what review it was that I was looking at, but I had made mention that the American flag was facing a different direction.
10:08And that's, somebody had mentioned kindly, mentioned to me that the American flag has to always face.
10:13So, whenever you're looking at it, it's always facing the right way.
10:16Does that make sense?
10:17I hope that makes sense.
10:18Color looks good, though, for Guile.
10:19I mean, there's a lot of good plastic.
10:21I know this is one thing I always said so far with the Street Fighter figures.
10:24I'm going to kind of continue this, is that the plastic that Jada Toys is using for these figures is of really good quality.
10:30Like, everything feels good and secure and feels tight.
10:33It never feels like while I'm moving the figure's joints around that something is going to break.
10:37Aw, wouldn't that just be, that would be the worst just to jinx that.
10:40Yeah, everything feels really good, though, on Guile.
10:43You know, get your mind out of the gutter.
10:45I do think that the camel looks really good on the figure as well.
10:48He seems a little on the short side.
10:51But to be fair, though, if we like bringing even like Ryu,
10:53Ryu sort of has more of a squat look to his body as well.
10:56That carries over with Ken.
10:58It carries also over for Chung Lee.
10:59See, those are only the only three other figures we've looked at so far.
11:03For Guile's articulation, though, his head's going to be on a ball joint.
11:06So, already, right away, you can do this all the way around.
11:10You have the head looking up and down, back and forth also as well.
11:13Further from that, actually just above the dog tags,
11:16the figure does also have a ball joint in the base of his neck.
11:18So, there's a lot more you can do with the neck.
11:21The arms rotate all the way around, all the way around.
11:24One thing that's also noted here on,
11:26which really we haven't had much of a chance to kind of see,
11:29because most of the time the characters we've looked at have covered over this joint.
11:32This joint kind of gives you a little bit more arch,
11:35where you can move the arms back, for example.
11:37Or you can move them forward, obviously.
11:39But yeah, the arms rotate all the way around.
11:41When we looked at both Guile,
11:43Guile, and just over here, grabbing Ken,
11:46sorry to surprise everybody,
11:48those joints, I would imagine, would still have been there.
11:50But just being that they're covered over by the gi,
11:52it would have been harder to see.
11:54On Guile, though, there's nothing,
11:55there's no hiding anything, because he has the tank top.
11:58Fully, visibly, shows the joints that are on the figure.
12:02Now, the figure does also have a bicep swivel.
12:03Yes, he does.
12:04Double hinge on the elbow.
12:05This guy right over here.
12:07Swivels in the hands all the way around.
12:09You can hinge them back and forth.
12:11The upper torso is going to be on a bulge, right?
12:13Lower abdomen area is pretty much the same.
12:16Legs go forward and back.
12:17They are a little on the stiffer side,
12:19but I'd rather that than really loose legs.
12:22You can split the legs.
12:24So, in fact, even though Van Damme's not playing him,
12:26you can still pull off successfully a Van Damme splits.
12:31Concealed, actually, quite nicely by the camouflage.
12:34About three quarters up the way of the thigh,
12:36you can also swivel cut that.
12:38So, there's a swivel.
12:38You can move it back and forth for the leg.
12:40The figure does have,
12:41which unfortunately does break up a little bit of the camo.
12:44So, I would think, though,
12:46that they probably would have gone and printed the camo
12:47on top of green plastic.
12:49The dead giveaway, though,
12:50is that you can see the green every time you bend the knee,
12:53which is a shame,
12:54but there's no real way around that.
12:56There's swivel there at the boots.
12:57You can move those back and forth.
12:59There's an ankle rocker,
13:00which is nice and tight ratcheted joints.
13:02And the figure does also have an ankle pivot.
13:04Really nice-looking Guile.
13:07Really nice-looking Guile.
13:08Still, again, like, when it comes to this figure,
13:10this might be the only one I'm going to consider
13:12getting the second variant costume for,
13:14which, again, swaps the greens for the blue.
13:16I just think...
13:17I like the green,
13:18but I think I also like the blue, really, as well.
13:20That has not yet happened when it comes to both Ryu,
13:23or Guile, for that matter.
13:25I don't know if...
13:26Actually, Ken.
13:27I don't know, though, if I actually have seen...
13:29Oh, maybe I did.
13:30I think I did see a white Gi Ken in the stores.
13:34Never decided to really pick it up
13:35because I really wanted to get the red Gi Ken.
13:38And, of course, there is also Chung Lee.
13:40Jaded Toys has planned to do a whole bunch
13:41of different variation costumes.
13:43I've seen also Bison.
13:45Bison is also a figure that we're going to be looking at
13:47in an upcoming review, as well.
13:48I've seen the variation costume for him, as well.
13:50That kind of does more...
13:51Kind of the teal, aquamarine blue.
13:54I might just stick with the red for that.
13:56But, yeah, I do really like Guile.
13:58Guile has a lot more accessories, really, I think,
14:01than all the other Street Fighter figures
14:02we've looked at so far.
14:03Because, generally, though, the rule of thumb,
14:05his rule of thumb,
14:06is that you would have a couple of swappable hands,
14:08you'd have a couple of swappable heads,
14:10two and two,
14:11and you'd get yourself the display stand.
14:12You'd get yourself whatever effect piece
14:14that he comes also included with.
14:15But then, on top of that,
14:17he does as well come included with his comb.
14:19So, maybe he's one up from every other...
14:22Oh, and, of course, he has the dog tags, as well.
14:24So, he's sort of two up from every figure
14:25that we've looked at.
14:26Nice-looking figure overall.
14:28Crazy as certainly it is
14:29when it comes to his hairstyle,
14:31Guile is, if you are collecting
14:32the Street Fighter figures,
14:33a must-have.
14:34I think any comb that can make its way
14:36through that hair-sprayed hairstyle
14:37deserves a medal of honor.
14:39It's one of the included accessories
14:40that Guile does have
14:41out of his plastic prison,
14:43along with a pair of dog tags.
14:44The dog tags,
14:45I was kind of concerned with thinking,
14:47first, okay,
14:48if I'm going to be putting this on his neck,
14:50the last thing I'd really want to do
14:51is worry about moving the head around
14:53or having the dog tags fall off.
14:55But, as you saw,
14:56even with gravity working against it,
14:58those tags, my friend,
14:59aren't going anywhere.
15:02The coloring, though, of Guile,
15:03of course, is the more classic green look.
15:05If you like, though, the blue,
15:07just know that Jada Toys
15:08has done variations on all the costumes.
15:10I've only seen a few, though,
15:11in the wild.
15:12I think the only one I actually have seen
15:14was the variation of Ken.
15:16Ken, I was really so close to picking up
15:18because, up to that point,
15:19I hadn't picked up a Ken.
15:20But, honestly, though,
15:21I was really more wanting to get
15:22the red gi instead of the white.
15:24With the case, though, of Guile,
15:26I'd be happy to actually get
15:28both the green and the blue.
15:29I've actually seen the blue in the stores.
15:32I'm surprised.
15:32Actually, I never even picked that one up.
15:34The thing that's going,
15:35at least in the favor of Jada Toys' release
15:37of Street Fighter figures
15:38is the price.
15:39Again, the price for what they sell
15:40these things for.
15:42Here in Canada,
15:43I think we're paying about $25 or so
15:45for these Street Fighter figures.
15:46For the kind of plastic
15:47that they're putting into them,
15:48the amount of accessories
15:49that they have also at their disposal,
15:51I think still $25 is a steal.
15:54What do you guys think of Guile?
15:55Let me know down below
15:56in the comments section.
15:57Do you think also that
15:58Jean-Claude Van Damme
15:59was a proper choice
16:00to play Guile in the feature film?
16:02Now, I know we also are going to be
16:03getting a new Street Fighter movie.
16:05Apparently, Cody Rhodes.
16:06Cody Rhodes is going to be playing Guile.
16:09I don't see it.
16:10Unless you're going to be giving him
16:11this whacked-out hairstyle.
16:13Just because a guy is a wrestler
16:14doesn't mean instantly
16:16he's a celebrity.
16:17I think that's the mistake
16:18that Hollywood often makes.
16:20Is, well, we need a muscular character
16:22for a movie.
16:22Well, let's look at the wrestlers.
16:24There's a reason why,
16:25and I don't say this for all the wrestlers,
16:27there's some wrestlers like Dave Bautista
16:28that have shown
16:30there's work outside the ring.
16:31A lot of times,
16:32if you're getting a wrestler,
16:33I hate to say this,
16:35if any wrestlers are watching these reviews,
16:37if you're a wrestler,
16:38sometimes you should maybe
16:39just stick in the ring.
16:41But what do you guys think of the idea
16:42of maybe Cody Rhodes playing the role?
16:43If you don't see maybe Cody
16:45possibly perfecting the look of Guile,
16:48who would you have picked
16:48as a celebrity
16:49to play the role instead?
16:51If you guys did enjoy this video,
16:52you can do it as certainly as solid
16:53by hitting it with a like.
16:55You guys want to stick around for more so?
16:56Yeah, I hope so.
16:57This isn't, by the way,
16:58the end of Street Fighter.
16:59Oh, no.
16:59No, in fact,
17:00actually we're looking at,
17:01we're going to be looking at a bunch more,
17:02all in fact throughout this week.
17:04So if you guys certainly
17:05want to come back for those,
17:06the videos will certainly be there,
17:07as well as everything else
