00:00He may have been the final boss, but he's far from being the final figure.
00:04Here's a look at the new Jada Toys, Street Fighter II The Final Challengers, Sagat.
00:08The Final Challengers
00:38Once the undefeated Emperor of Muay Thai, Sagat's reign was challenged by Ryu, leaving him with a scar that fueled his relentless quest for strength and revenge.
00:50This 112-scale action figure is expertly crafted to showcase Sagat's towering physique, disciplined stance, and signature attacks.
00:58With exceptional articulation, you can recreate the most devastating moves from the game, including his crushing tiger uppercut, powerful tiger knee, and his iconic tiger shots.
01:07Sagat is an experienced fighter. You can see it in his scars.
01:11Before we look at his scars and all the accessories that come packed along with this figure, we're going to take the tape measure and we're going to see how tall he stands.
01:18Now, in the game, Sagat stands an imposing 7'5".
01:22The thing I kind of find ironic about this as I take my tape measure, not that he's going to stand at 7'5", but he still stands 7.5, 7.5 inches in height.
01:33I thought that was kind of cool.
01:34That's going to translate, though, to a figure that's 19 centimeters tall.
01:37So that really then has me wondering, if they've scaled Sagat to be 7.5 inches in height, then is every other Street Fighter figure that Jada Toys has released in the scale that they should be in the game?
01:48As the likes then of Ryu and Ken are clearly going to be a lot shorter than Sagat's, but is that the right size of how they are in the game?
01:56Hmm.
01:56Here's also what the figure looks like with Chun-Li, a much bigger version, and there's Blanka.
02:01And here's also what they look like with Guile.
02:04I would be a terrible reviewer if I didn't first mention that the figure does come in clear with a cardboard background of his scene.
02:09So, like with all the other Street Fighter figures that we've gotten from Jada Toys, if you choose to have Sagat displayed that way,
02:15yeah, I know it's going to occupy this much more space than really what you had planned,
02:19but at least there's a nice way of displaying the figure that way.
02:22I wanted to make sure at least I met my quota by showing guys that the included car does have the background.
02:28What it does also come included with, though, is Tiger Shot.
02:31The Tiger Shot, not only from the side, looks like a Metroid from, well, obviously Super Metroid,
02:36but also when you look at it from the front, it's this unsettling ease of looking at this and thinking I'm looking at a big giant cow eye.
02:43Ugh.
02:44One thing, though, that's interesting about this, though, is the translucency of the plastic.
02:48You can actually see straight through it.
02:49You wouldn't be able to, though, see a pair of hands.
02:52It's not like Ryu or Ken.
02:54When he does also fire it, he fires it sideways.
02:57Also has to say, of course, the name when he's doing that.
03:00If you look, actually, at the bottom of it, there it is right there.
03:03There's the hole.
03:04It does also come in clear with the display stand.
03:06Now, the stand isn't really any bit different than the Ryu, the Ken, or the Chung Lee, as it does have two pieces.
03:12Funny, though, enough, getting this out of the packaging, you didn't have to do any bit of assembly.
03:15In the past, though, usually would have had this and this as two separate.
03:19And then without the instructions, you'd have to figure it out for yourself how exactly they go together.
03:24How does this work?
03:25Stupid idiot.
03:26There's a hole right here.
03:28Of course, you can take yourself your neck and you just attach that in place like that.
03:31Going back to the cow eye, finding the hole, which is right over there.
03:35We're just going to attach this right on top of the display post.
03:40Now, this isn't, though, the easiest thing to do.
03:42You really have to kind of force it on there.
03:44And then you would just basically display it alongside of Sagat.
03:47Now, Sagat, when he poses, sort of has more his arms up like this.
03:51And then he's kind of got his knee bent.
03:53So you really would want to kind of have the figure displayed that way.
03:57Not that I'm really going to be telling you exactly how you have to pose it.
04:00You could pose it any which way that you want.
04:02But that's the little, that's the tiger attack.
04:05Of course, he does have.
04:06The figure does also have some swappable hands as well.
04:09Getting, though, at least in a straight position.
04:11Out of the packaging, though, he already does have close fists.
04:14Good for punching.
04:15If you want to choose, though, instead.
04:16The figure does also have these gestured hands, which my own hands seem to be having a hard time holding on to.
04:22Basically, all you're just going to do is hold on to the forearm.
04:25Yank the hands off from their sockets.
04:28There we go.
04:28And then just swap them out with this.
04:30Now, you could choose, obviously, if you want to just have a close fist on one side.
04:33And you just have the other hand like this.
04:35Or you can go all in and just swap out the hand for then this hand here.
04:40I'm just going to leave this in for right now so you guys can at least see the differences between the two.
04:44Speaking of differences, though, boy, Sagat does also have a difference when it comes to his head sculpt.
04:48I'm just going to move this, though, out of the way just so that the camera can at least focus on the figure.
04:52Now, he has sort of more just a neutral expression.
04:55As you can see, he does have the eye patch covering over his eye.
04:58And one of the trademark things about Sagat is he has the big gash scar wound, as is battled with Ryu.
05:04Now, you can't swap out the heads like with all the other figures that we've looked at.
05:07There is also an alternate expression.
05:10This gives us a much angrier-looking Sagat.
05:13I think in a case, honestly, like this, seems to usually have been the rule of thumb that when we looked at the Street Fighter figures,
05:19I tend to usually stick with the defaulted head.
05:22I think in the case, though, of Sagat, I'm going to display him like this.
05:25Changing out the head, though, is super easy.
05:27I'm just going to pop that off.
05:28Boy, is that ever a satisfying pop sound.
05:31Then we're just going to, of course, take the head, pop it back onto the ball joint.
05:35Super, super easy.
05:36I made mention of this as well in the other reviews of the Street Fighter figures.
05:40I find like the plastic that Jada seems to be using for this figure line is really good.
05:45Now, that seems also just to be outside Street Fighter, too.
05:47Some of the other stuff that Jada toys, like the Mega Man, like the serial mascots,
05:51all have really had a really good quality plastic.
05:54It just feels right, if that makes any sense at all.
05:57The face sculpt, though, again, feels right having me look like this.
06:00Of course, he does have the scars there on the top of his head, on the side of his neck as well.
06:04I mean, it's not just that he has the big gash there on the front of his chest.
06:07He's got some really cool-looking war wounds all over his body.
06:11Nicely done, though, that they've also gone in there and painted the plastic.
06:14So it isn't just left behind for the molding that they've already used.
06:17Obviously, they go in there and they add a wash.
06:20So like some of the musculature, you can see, stands a little bit nicer by using the darker color of the brown that they did.
06:26His trunks are blue.
06:28Now, the trunks have changed over the course of the game.
06:30Sometimes he's also had red trunks.
06:31I prefer that they've gone with the blue.
06:33The painting, though, of the red looks really nice.
06:36No issues there at all with the paint.
06:37The banding there on the top is pretty close.
06:40It almost does look like there's a darker red, though, here than it is on the top.
06:44But overall, like, again, like the shorts, I had a hard time getting that all out.
06:48The shorts do look really good on him.
06:50The painting also on the bandages is also something, too, that I think has done well.
06:53The bandages do look, for the most part, like they're consistent.
06:57So sometimes when you're having issues like this where, like, things on forearms may not be the same color as things like hands.
07:03But I think the white is pretty close.
07:05You can kind of really see, though, that the white is a little bit brighter on the forearm.
07:08But I think they've still done a nice enough job of color matching the two.
07:12Yeah, all in all, I don't really have any real issues, though, with sagat.
07:15The one thing I would say, and it's just a tiny little thing, a toe-sized problem is just the fact that this area right here,
07:22they had to go in there and paint this because, like, his bandages stop here and then his toes after that.
07:27So all the little piggies that had to go to the market and do all the other things that piggies were responsible for doing.
07:32Unfortunately, though, right by a couple of the piggies, this right here looks sloppy.
07:37Like, you can see, like, the white isn't very cleanly painted.
07:41It just abruptly kind of goes right into the coloring of the skin tone.
07:44It doesn't look as bad on this side.
07:46This side right here, I think it's a bit of a mess.
07:49But again, like, the figure does have pebbles on the bobs of his feet, so make use of a display stand.
07:53Even though, really, one isn't included with sagat, you can easily use one, like, from a McFarlane Toys.
07:58McFarlane Toys display stands, for example, are just a perfect stand.
08:01I mean, they're pretty much neutral.
08:03I know the new stands have had DC logos done in white.
08:06If you get kind of, like, more just the stands, I'm sure you could probably even go in there and just take that off with a little bit of rubbing alcohol.
08:11If you take the logo off, or even if you just use the black DC stand, I mean, you can easily use them, make use of them with the figures, and you just attach them onto the pegs.
08:21Just like that.
08:22Good, too, if you really want to have your figures in dynamic poses.
08:26Speaking of dynamic poses, though, how about we talk a little bit about the poseability for sagat.
08:30So his head, whether you want to use this head, or you want to be aligned it back to the original, doesn't really matter either way.
08:36The head's going to be in our ball joint, so on its own, it does rotate all the way around.
08:40Have the head looking up and down.
08:41You can also move it back and forth as well.
08:44Street Fighter figures have also been known for having ball joints at the base of their necks, too.
08:48So that also gives a little bit more, a little more mileage for what you can actually do with the figures' heads.
08:54Now, sagat is also one of those cases, too.
08:56Also, I think Ryu was a good example.
08:58No, no, it was Guile.
08:59Guile also was a good example.
09:01Let's actually bring back in Guile, just again, for the size differences between the two.
09:05Where you could also see the chance that they actually add some shoulder crunching.
09:09Now, all other figures have had this, too.
09:11Blanca also had that, also, as well.
09:13But you can kind of get more of a chance to see it here, because he doesn't have, like, the gi covering over top of it, like Ryu and like Ken.
09:20This shoulder crunch allows the arms to also hinge forward.
09:23So, again, if you want to kind of have the arms a little bit more closer together, oh, that's a cool-looking pose.
09:28It's something that more can be easily pulled off by the fact that they incorporate this additional poseability point.
09:34You can also, as well, bring those arms back, too.
09:36So, it's not saying, necessarily, that you have to have the arms always forward.
09:39Yeah, this little bit of additional poseability goes certainly a long way when it comes to posing.
09:44In addition to that, though, if we can just get his arms straight, the arms rotate all the way around.
09:50There is also, again, a bicep swivel.
09:52So, you can hinge him back and forth that way.
09:54Double hinge on the elbow.
09:56Whether you want to use this hand or you want to stick with the original, they work the same way.
09:59You swivel them all the way around.
10:01There's also a hinge back and forth.
10:03Sagat's upper torso is going to be in our ball joint.
10:06And, as well to that, the figure does also have a ball joint at the base of the abdomen.
10:09So, you can do it there, as well.
10:11Legs split out.
10:12No ratcheted joints or anything like that.
10:14But, you can see behind the scenes, there's ball joints allowing the legs to split this far.
10:19Being that he's also a Muay Thai champion or Muay Thai fighter,
10:22certainly, you would want to have a figure that has some decent levels of poseability.
10:25And, Sagat certainly has that.
10:27Forward and back motions on the legs.
10:29There's a nice swivel there at the top of the thigh.
10:31Double hinge on the knee.
10:32Of course, you've got your ankle pivot.
10:33You'd have to have your ankle pivot.
10:35And, with that as well, you get yourself an ankle rocker.
10:38There's toe articulation as well.
10:40Doesn't look as bad, really, from the front.
10:41It looks a little uglier, though, on the top.
10:44But, that's a small problem.
10:45A small problem for a really big-looking...
10:47Well, I mean, again, he was originally the final boss of Street Fighter.
10:51Now that we finally got ourselves a version of Sagat, he has to be, of course, bigger.
10:56Even, really, like, Blanc up to that point, really was the largest figure that we've looked at from Street Fighter.
11:00And, even then, now, Sagat casts a shadow on him.
11:04This figure, also, like Blanca, is going to be a little bit more expensive.
11:07So, while these figures usually tend to sit around...
11:10I would say, like, retail Canadian, about $34.
11:13I think it's like...
11:13No, that's not right.
11:15About $28, I think, to buy these, though, in the stores.
11:18The deluxe figures, if you're able, though, to find them, end up setting you back more.
11:22I think it's like $8, maybe $10 more.
11:25Well worth it, though, if you are collecting the Street Fighter figures.
11:28I mean, you would have to have made Sagat bigger.
11:317'4 has to translate...
11:33Well, 7'5 has to translate to 7 inches 0.5.
11:37I think that's, again, that's just crazy, the fact that Jada Toys would actually have factored that in.
11:42That a 7'5 monster in the game would translate to a 7-inch or 7.5-inch figure when you get them in plastic.
11:50As Sagat does his tiger shot.
11:52I know I didn't want to miss my shot of grabbing Sagat and add it into my collection.
11:56Luckily, though, for me, once again, the Popeye, the Toy Man, did come through, and I ended up buying this figure.
12:01I think it was around $50.
12:03Which, considering, though, the fact that he is a larger scale than all, really, the other Street Fighter figures that we've had to look at, $50 isn't bad at all.
12:10Really, too, like, one thing I have to keep commending Jada Toys for doing is that they keep the pricing for these figures generally quite low anyways.
12:17When you think of the quality that they're putting into their pieces, the levels of posability, and the additional accessories, it doesn't really matter, though, whether you're looking at the Street Fighter, or the Mega Man, or the serial mascots, for example.
12:29In fact, we're actually, speaking of Jada Toys, we're going to be looking at Tony the Tiger, if we haven't already looked at him.
12:34But yeah, Jada Toys have never really had a problem at all when it comes to whatever they're doing license-wise.
12:39Now that we're doing Street Fighter, and looking at a lot more here on this channel, Sagat was one I definitely needed to pick up.
12:45Speaking of picking up, though, if you guys are interested and would like to pick up Sagat for yourself, if you have had no luck to find him in the wild, might I suggest checking out Popeye the Toy Man on the Facebook selling group.
12:56I know it's a name that seems to be circulating a lot on these reviews as of late.
13:00As of right now, he seems to be the go-to guy when it comes to picking up these collectibles.
13:04But yeah, check out his links, check out the link down below in the video description.
13:07And in the meantime, too, let me know what you guys thought of Sagat.
13:11Worth picking up?
13:12Or are you being only really selective when it comes to Street Fighter?
13:15Maybe even you're one of your collectors that aren't really all that interested in collecting Street Fighter.
13:20Let me know down below in the comments section.
13:22If you guys, again, enjoyed this video, do it a saw and throw it a like.
13:25You guys want to stick around for more?
13:26So, yeah, I hope so.
13:27We're going to have some more Street Fighter reviews, by the way, BTW, coming your way.
13:31If you need your fix in the meantime, popping up at the very end of this video will be a playlist.
13:35Featuring all the things that I've looked at for the Street Fighter line thus far.
13:39As always, guys, thanks for watching.
13:41See you guys next time.
