00:00Now I see that Haya's back in the business of building armies.
00:03Here's your look at the Haya toys. This is the G.I. Joe Exquisite Mini Cobra Trooper.
00:23Cobra Troopers form the core of the Cobra Forces.
00:26Their ranks are made of criminals from around the world who have been drawn to the sinister hiss and dark message that the Cobra call.
00:33Typically wearing masks to hide their identity, they carry out chaos-causing missions handed down by Cobra Commander,
00:39who they faithfully serve without question.
00:42I don't know if Cobra's enlisting, but I can tell you though, there is a listing for the Cobra Trooper currently on Haya's website.
00:48Right now it shows as being a pre-order, so if you guys are interested and would like to get the Cobra Trooper for your army,
00:53you can click the link down below in the video description.
00:55I'd like to also thank the folks over at Haya Toys that did provide this sample of the Haya Exquisite Mini Series Cobra Trooper
01:00that we could look at, yeah, yeah, in this review.
01:03We're going to also be bringing in, in a second, some of the elites at Cobra,
01:06as well as another army builder, the Cobra Viper that we just recently looked at.
01:10Back though to the basics, and the basics involve the tape measure.
01:13The tape measure is going to tell us first that the Cobra Viper stands three and three quarter of an inch in height,
01:18working out to be a figure that's about nine and a half centimeters tall.
01:21I don't really know if he's handling the payroll, but here's what the figure looks like along with their leader, Cobra Commander.
01:26Cobra Commander still is probably my favorite figure we've gotten from the Haya G.I. Joe brand.
01:31Even though right now it doesn't seem like he seems to be standing all that well,
01:34his troops at least will stand firmly, strongly, confidently behind him.
01:38Here's also what the figure looks like with the exquisite mini-series Destro,
01:41who certainly stands a whole lot better.
01:44Here's also the recently looked at Croc Master.
01:46Why not?
01:47And also, here's the other army builder I was mentioning earlier, the Cobra Viper.
01:52If I may, I'd like to draw your attention to the accessories that come in clear with the Cobra Trooper.
01:55I'd also like to draw your attention to the fact that the figure does come in clear with the display stand.
01:59And lastly, I would like to also draw to your attention that it's a similar, similar style of stand as the ones we've already gotten before.
02:06Although I can't help but notice that the stand in this case isn't as shiny as some of the other offerings that we've gotten before.
02:13Here's just two. They attach obviously the exact same way too.
02:16If you look at first the top of the terrain, nice muddier terrain.
02:19Of course, there's some bullet casings all across there.
02:21And there is, although it's hard to see, it's camouflaged right now.
02:24There's a peg right there that can plug into the Cobra Trooper's boots.
02:28Hold on to this. Don't let go.
02:30Well, you can obviously let go if you're going to be looking at the figure.
02:32But keep this close and on the ready because the Cobra Trooper is definitely going to need it.
02:36Say what? We'll talk about more of that in a moment.
02:38On the bottom though of that, let me also draw to your attention the fact that there are some slots.
02:42There are two here, two here.
02:47Take yourself these eye brackets.
02:48And what do the eye brackets do?
02:50You take yourself one side of it.
02:52Take yourself the other display stand we just finished bringing in and attach the two together.
02:57Now, the more that you have, the more eye brackets, the more display stands,
03:00the more time you have on your hands will determine how big of a terrain that you're going to have your Cobra Troopers
03:05or, for that matter, G.I. Joe standing on top of.
03:09Move that off to the side.
03:10Again, I'm going to keep that really close and on the ready
03:13because, again, this Cobra Trooper has some difficult time to stand.
03:17Hope you can stand for the fact that the figure does come and include some swappable hands as well.
03:21Not the best of segues, but at least it does show you that the figure does have a couple of gripping hands.
03:26These hands are actually a little bit more of a trigger hand, as you can see,
03:30with the finger just barely stretched out.
03:32The figure does already have, technically, on the ends of his forearms, gripping hands anyways,
03:36so it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to spend some time to swap them out.
03:39But you certainly will want to keep at least gripping hands on the figure
03:42because, of course, he does also have some firearms.
03:45A longer firearm.
03:46This one doesn't have a removable clip.
03:49Kind of a shame.
03:50I kind of really wish that it would.
03:52And he also comes included with this one as well, but does not have a removable clip.
03:55I really did think that they would, but they don't.
03:58I do like the finish on them, though.
03:59It's not really quite silver.
04:01It's not really quite gunmetal.
04:02It's more, I would say, kind of a bluish gunmetal gray.
04:07And, of course, you can hold it in his hands.
04:08It comes back to one issue I still really have when the figures get gun accessories
04:13where, like, you can see, like, the handle, for example, is encased with something else.
04:17It always causes a conflict when it comes to the figure trying to properly hold these.
04:21Sure, yeah, you can try all that you want to get the figure hand to go around that.
04:25At least the figure hands are softer in plastic,
04:28but it's always a difficult thing to try to get them around this type of handle.
04:32Oh, I dislike this.
04:34I don't necessarily say that it was bad on highest part to include a gun like this,
04:38but at least you get yourself another one that holds a whole lot better.
04:42Again, you're just going to open up the grip here,
04:44take the handle, slide it all the way in there.
04:46And now the Cobra Trooper can at least fire with something.
04:49He can actually technically fire with other things as well,
04:52because the figure has holstered on either side of his leg two pistols,
04:55a pair of pistols.
04:57Sorry for spitting on all of you.
04:59If you pull out the pistols, though, you can see one nice little attention to detail
05:02is that they actually painted the trigger red.
05:05They didn't have to do that at all.
05:07And for that matter, they didn't really have to paint the top of it either.
05:10That's a lot of additional paint.
05:12Really nice job on the guns.
05:13And again, he has two of these.
05:14One on this side.
05:15And if you look on the other mirror flip of sides,
05:18he also has a pistol over here as well.
05:20If you look and I draw your attention to the back,
05:22the figure does also come in clue with a knife that you can unsheathe.
05:26So two guns, two pistols.
05:28I guess pistols technically are guns as well.
05:30And he also comes in clue with a knife.
05:32So he gets five weapons,
05:33even though really two only come inside the packaging with him.
05:36Let's remove the gun for right now.
05:38We'll put it off to the side.
05:40One thing, though, that's kind of cool about the Cobra Trooper,
05:42even though he really doesn't have a backpack,
05:43he has at least storage for those guns.
05:46If you look on the back, on the back of his SWAT vest,
05:49he's got holes and holes.
05:50So you take yourself the pegs that are on the back of the guns
05:53and you just plug them in place.
05:55Now, realistically,
05:56I don't really know how this would have worked on a human being.
05:59I mean, if you can think of like a pack,
06:01a pack, sure enough, you could say,
06:03okay, well, a gun straps onto that.
06:05Okay, that's maybe a little too ridiculous.
06:06Let's flip this around.
06:09Put the gun on this side.
06:10So at least the handle stock is on the top.
06:12Take this one and do the same on this side as well.
06:15There we go.
06:15That looks a little bit more manageable.
06:17He's never really going to be able to sit down.
06:19Sit inside of a tank.
06:20Forget about that.
06:21Sit inside of a cafeteria to get his lunch.
06:23No way, no how.
06:25But at least there's storage.
06:26I just don't know how realistically
06:27that would attach onto a human's body.
06:29Maybe it's magnetic.
06:31Maybe they clip it in place.
06:32But at least it does do the job of keeping the guns out of the way
06:35so he can at least go about his business.
06:38Let's do the business, though, of removing the guns right now.
06:40Put it off to the side and get a closer look at the Cobra Trooper.
06:44There is one thing, really, that also is removable on the Cobra Trooper,
06:47and that is his helmet.
06:48So you can take that off as well.
06:50It's a softer plastic.
06:52Didn't really involve much force at all to remove the helmet,
06:55and it just pops in place.
06:56Does it survive the Blizzard's test?
06:58It does.
06:59The helmet's not going to go anywhere.
07:02I overall like the look of the Cobra Trooper.
07:04I've got to say, to be honest with you,
07:06there's one thing that's not...
07:07Well, there's two things that really isn't working for me.
07:08It's the color of the blue,
07:10and it's the fact that he does also have camo print.
07:14Now, some may like that on their Cobra Troopers.
07:16Obviously, for the sense of blending in,
07:17it may do a better job than if it was just a regular blue.
07:20But I think, first, that the blue is way too pastel.
07:23It's much lighter, though, as you can see on the top of the helmet.
07:25It's much darker of that blue as you get a little bit further down,
07:28and it's even darker still when you look at the rest of the figure's body.
07:31I just don't know if I like the blue.
07:34I would have preferred if it was more of a darker blue.
07:36I mean, even though, really, technically, the Cobra Viper has a very shared, similar blue,
07:40the Cobra Viper actually comes across a little bit more of a metallic finish,
07:43or like more of a silverish blue.
07:46If you're looking, though, at the two between the two,
07:48I think, still, I like the Cobra Viper a little bit more.
07:51This camo print, again, isn't really working for me.
07:54If it works for you, that's you.
07:56But I think, though, that it draws more attention away from the character.
07:59I really, again, always like the classic look of the Cobra Trooper.
08:02I think, really, that there's so much stuff already going on with the figure with the body armor,
08:06with the guns, with the belt, obviously, there.
08:09Shoulder pads, he's got the elbow pads there on the side.
08:11He's something to protect, also, his forearms.
08:13I just think by having all this already on the figure's body,
08:17adding on top of it, then, camo print makes the figure, I think, too excessively busy.
08:22It's just, again, my personal opinion.
08:23I do like the Cobra logo.
08:25I think that that's nicely done.
08:26That's large, it's embossed, or it's certainly raised on top of the armor.
08:30It looks really good, too.
08:31So, again, I do like the look of the swap, SWAT armor,
08:35which, again, does have the holes on the back of his body.
08:37This peg, oh, that peg actually belonged to the gun.
08:40I'm going to have to just put it off to the side over here.
08:42Yeah, overall, I think it looks good.
08:44Of course, it does also have pegles in the bottoms of the figure's feet.
08:47Do, do keep that in mind.
08:49Do keep that in mind.
08:50We'll come back to that in a second.
08:52The only thing, again, I would have probably changed myself
08:54is I would have removed the, yeah, the camo,
08:56and I also would have just darkened the color of the blue.
08:58Other than that, though, I just, I do think that the look of the Cobra Trooper looks nice,
09:02just with a few additional tweaks.
09:05I think the mask has also done really well there, too.
09:07It takes the idea of what a Cobra Trooper would initially have been,
09:10where a mask covers over the front of his face or in front of his mouth,
09:13kind of gives him, at least, again, more of a SWAT look to him.
09:15For the figure's poseability, now, here's one thing that I have an issue with,
09:20is his ankles.
09:21Some of these ankles, unfortunately, though, just by the way that they're designed,
09:25he has these flaps over top of the tops of his boots.
09:28They can't, unfortunately, cause the figure to stand better than what he does.
09:32When you feel like you push the figure's feet up all the way,
09:36you can see that they start to drop down,
09:38and it causes, though, the figure not to have a completely flat foot.
09:41And I have standing issues when I get this guy to go on display.
09:45I mean, of course, there is always the go-to of having display stands,
09:48so you just attach that onto the figure's feet.
09:50There's the peg right there.
09:51It can plug onto the bottom of the figure's feet.
09:53Display it that way.
09:54But on his own, I find there's a real issue getting the...
09:57Oh, now that he's doing it, of course, now in this review.
09:59But I had an issue, really, getting the Cobra Trooper to stand.
10:01Sometimes it does help what I'm doing right now to bend the feet outward,
10:05so instead of having them looking straight out,
10:07you kind of bend them out this way.
10:09And that sometimes causes the figure to stand a little bit better.
10:12See, right now, it's more just a balancing act than anything else.
10:16Anyways, though, for the Cobra Trooper's articulation,
10:19the head's going to be on a ball joint,
10:20so it allows the head to move up and down.
10:22I mean, of course, if I get my blasted thumb out of the way,
10:24the head rotates all the way around as well.
10:26As you are, though, rotating the head,
10:28you'll find periodically that you pop off the helmet,
10:30but at least it just pops friction-forced in place.
10:33The upper torso is going to be on a ball joint.
10:36The ball joint is pretty more difficult to move,
10:38just because, unfortunately, the way that they designed it,
10:40the SWAT vest goes right into the belt.
10:43It all seems as one piece.
10:45So as you're trying to, like, move everything around,
10:47you really feel like there's a lot of stuff getting in your way.
10:50Normally, I would have really been able to say
10:52that there's a ball joint at the top of the torso,
10:54and that there's also a secondary ball joint at the base of the abdomen.
10:58But really, though, with the armor, and even though it's rubber,
11:01the armor covering over all of that
11:02really does impede a lot of the figure's possibility.
11:04The arms hinge out, forward and back.
11:07You can also take, of course, the arms and rotate them all the way around.
11:11There is a bicep swivel.
11:12If I can get in there, there's a bicep swivel.
11:15There is a double hinge on the elbow,
11:16and the hands rotate all the way around.
11:19For the legs of the cobra viper, cobra trooper,
11:22I've got viper on my brain here,
11:23again, it's kind of more self-contained.
11:26So, like, the holster is attached to the belt,
11:28which is attached to, again, a vest.
11:31It sounds like we're about to break out in a kid's song.
11:34The holster is attached to the belt.
11:36The belt, okay, forget about it.
11:37The legs do split up, but again,
11:38it kind of feels like there's things fighting against you.
11:41Sure enough, yeah, they go forward and back.
11:44There's a swivel there at the top of the thigh.
11:46Double hinge on the knee.
11:47No articulation here for the boots.
11:49The boot guard, I mean, this is all kind of one piece anyways.
11:52But again, when it comes to the ankles,
11:53there's not much, really, that you can move out.
11:55There's as much of a hinge that we have to work with.
11:58And even then, I don't really can get to the point
12:01of where you can get this figure to stand all the time.
12:03There's an ankle rocker there also as well.
12:06Short of just having the figure having difficult times to stand,
12:09aesthetically, I think I like the look of the character.
12:12There are, though, a few things.
12:13I'm not even going to fight this.
12:15I'm just going to get this guy in a display stand.
12:18Pop him onto the peg.
12:19Kind of just twist the foot back and forth
12:22just so he stands a little bit better.
12:24There we go.
12:25Bring back in the Cobra Viper.
12:26The Cobra Viper stood a lot easier.
12:28And actually, if you look at the way the figure's feet are designed,
12:31the feet sort of go over top of the shin,
12:34where I feel like in this case,
12:35the feet are kind of tucked under the shin,
12:37and you can't quite get that hinge to work properly.
12:40The Cobra Trooper, I think, does look good.
12:42I don't really like the camo so much on the design.
12:45I think it's also too pastel of a blue.
12:47I would have preferred if it was a little bit darker.
12:49Somehow, I seem a little more accepting of the colors,
12:51similar in colors, working on the Cobra Viper.
12:54And yeah, but the Cobra Trooper,
12:55I kind of would have hoped to have the colors a little bit darker.
12:58Of course, there's Cobra Commander there as well to lead his troops.
13:01I don't know if he's going to be all that happy with the fact
13:03that Cobra Trooper is now standing a little bit taller than him.
13:05But I like the ranks of the Cobra.
13:07I mean, we sort of did work our way backwards.
13:09I mean, in the fact that we kind of looked at the Cobra Viper first,
13:12Cobra Viper really, as a troop builder,
13:13would have come after the Cobra Trooper.
13:16But now we're looking at him right now.
13:18The design is good.
13:19Again, there are a few little things
13:20that I would have probably tweaked a little bit differently myself.
13:22But certainly, though,
13:23if you like the classic look of the army building and troops for Cobra,
13:26you can't pass your chance on picking up the Cobra Trooper for yourself.
13:29411, I forgot to mention in this review,
13:31those larger rifles that come included with the Cobra Trooper
13:34have those pegs removable.
13:36So if you don't like the obnoxious nature of having those sticking out,
13:39they can easily just remove.
13:40I removed one accidentally in this review,
13:42but they're supposed to.
13:43You just basically pop them out.
13:45So if you don't have plans, for example,
13:47to attach them on the back of his body,
13:48I know, again, the realistic applications
13:50of how that really attaches to his vest anyways.
13:52But anyways, though, you can remove them.
13:54You're just going to have to put them in a place, though,
13:56you're not going to lose them
13:57because they are small, very tiny.
13:59As same can really be said for anything
14:01that's really on the exquisite mini release
14:02of the Cobra Trooper here.
14:04What I do always think that's charming about this line
14:06is that you can look at a figure inside of a package
14:08and say to yourself,
14:09OK, well, he's going to have two rifles.
14:11He's going to have as well the display stand.
14:13And of course, with that goes as well,
14:14the eye brackets.
14:15Those are all things that you expect to know
14:17to expect to see
14:18because you can currently see them in the package.
14:20It's not really until you remove them
14:22from their plastic prison
14:23that you discover all these other fun things
14:25about the Cobra Trooper,
14:27like that he has unholstered guns
14:28on the sides of his legs,
14:30an unsheathable knife,
14:31which I currently have unsheathed
14:33and currently in his hand.
14:34And he does also have a removable helmet.
14:36Those would not likely be things
14:38that you would say to yourself right away,
14:39oh, the figure has all of those things
14:41if it wasn't for like reviews like this.
14:43If you go back to the original days of G.I. Joe,
14:46obviously a lot of those things
14:47would have just been molded onto the figure.
14:49It would be really hard to kind of always
14:50push the idea in your storylines as a kid.
14:53Oh, these Cobra Troopers got,
14:54you know, they got locked away.
14:56They got sent to prison.
14:57But clearly they have molded guns
14:59on the sides of their legs.
15:00Well, why don't you just use the molded gun?
15:02Well, you can't use the molded gun
15:03because it's never going to be removable
15:05on the figure in the first place.
15:06Now, this guy is currently showing
15:08as a pre-order on Haya's site.
15:10I would imagine the same would be there as well
15:13when you go to any other site
15:14that currently stocks
15:15or currently has pre-orders of Haya brand.
15:17Again, a big thank you to the folks
15:18over at Haya Toys that did provide this sample
15:20of the brand new exquisite mini series,
15:22Cobra Trooper,
15:23that we had the chance to have a look at in this review.
15:25All in all, though,
15:26I do like the look of the figure.
15:27There are, again, a few little things
15:28I wish would have been a little bit done differently.
15:31If you like, though, the camel print of the blue
15:33and you like the coloring of the blue,
15:35this one might be right up your alley.
15:37Speaking of which, though,
15:37I wonder if we're ever going to be getting
15:38that alley viper.
15:40Definitely looking forward to that one.
15:41But again, if you guys did enjoy this video,
15:43you can do it as solid and throw it a like.
15:45You guys want to stick around for more so?
15:47I hope so!
15:48Thank you for the person
15:49that yelled at in the back of the crowd.
15:51By the way, though, too,
15:52you can, you know, as always,
15:53you can hit the subscribe,
15:54you can turn on the bell.
15:55That tells YouTube that you are interested
15:57in the content you're currently seeing
15:58here on this channel.
15:59But if you still need a fix
16:00and you're asking yourself,
16:02hey, I'm new here,
16:03does this guy always post stuff
16:05for Hyatt Toys?
16:06That will answer your question
16:07by popping up at the very end
16:08of this video, a playlist.
16:10You can check out all the other things
