00:13well i've been told these things have been floating around maybe not as easy though as

00:36alternate retro appearance in friday 13th the game with a stylized cartoon sculpt this six inch scale
00:42includes an axe accessory and comes in blister card packaging friends are dead who's been buying up
00:47all the jasons this guy i did actually grab on ebay truth be told i could have also grabbed this
00:52on
00:52neka's site but the time that it would have taken for this guy to finally arrive ebay would have just
00:56been so much quicker although i may have probably spent just a little bit more getting my hands on
01:01him before though we get a closer look at toony terrors nes jason let's take the tape measure and
01:05see how tall the figure is going to stand by the way too we're also going to again skirting around
01:09the licensing attaching this to the friday 13th game rather though than the friday 13th licensing
01:16that make it so smart for how tall though jason's gonna stand you're looking at the figure being
01:20six inches in height clocking in about 15 and a half centimeters tall crystal like he's no different
01:26of a jason than the previous toony terror figures we've already gotten before he is using the same
01:30mold he's getting a different accessory though and he's getting a whole new color change we haven't
01:34yet actually got an nes freddy krueger probably one of the reasons why i didn't bring in the freddy
01:38krueger because i hope that at some point we would get an nes freddy but it may have to be
01:42like a
01:43similar case where they have to skirt around the licensing to do that instead what i'll do is i'll
01:47bring in a couple of other toony terror figures some of my personal favorites here's what the
01:50figure looks like with my bloody valentine minor if i get my blasted hand out of the way here's also
01:54what he looks like with the 78 myers here's also what he happens to look like next to the ultimate
01:59jason also from nes the colors though i don't know what's the deal with this you would think that
02:05they already have really the palette down for these figures anyways and yet the toony terrors release
02:10seems to go with a much darker approach instead also with an axe instead of the machete that the
02:15figure had before the axe is the same color and it's usually been the case when we looked at nes
02:20jasons that yes the color of whatever weapons he's wielding usually is the same blue as his mask and
02:25that seems to well it seems to be the case as well the actual uh one thing that acts is
02:30missing
02:30however though it doesn't have the little reflective surface that tend to be that well i'm bringing in
02:35the michael myers so you guys can see the machete would have been basically the exact same thing it
02:40just would have had like the stripes of reflection on it the axe doesn't have that i guess they kind
02:44of wanted to go with a little bit more of a simple looking design but i think having just a
02:48little bit
02:48of reflection could have gone maybe a long way what also goes a long way here too is the packaging
02:54truth they'll be told i actually had to re-glue the package because i had opened it up
02:58realized butterfingers me forgot to actually have this thing rotating on the rotisserie
03:02so i had to glue the plastic bubble back in place i'm sure jason didn't like the idea of being
03:06freed
03:06and then forced back inside the plastic prison get a good look though at jason's face though on the top
03:12and of course on the back of that as well you can cut this out there's nothing really to stand
03:16this up
03:17unfortunately though so even if you do have the background of a very pixelated camp cutting this
03:23only out you'll have to find a way to prop that up against something like a shelf or maybe get
03:27yourself
03:28like something just to stand these up i i tend not to even cut these and save these just because
03:32again like they're going to take up so much more real estate space especially when you happen to
03:36have so many toony terrors in your collection currently let's go ahead and get the axe going
03:41here now much like the previous jason he only has one gripping hand the other hand is kind of more
03:46like a zombie hand so that's not going to be good for anybody go ahead and get the axe in
03:53there
03:53wedge it in between his fingers and his sausage thumb now jason's got himself some weapons you can
03:59also of course have the weapon over you have the axe over top of his shoulder like that looks looks
04:04like he's carrying around like paul bunyan is it bunyan bunyan bunyan carrying around though like paul
04:10the lumberjack just walking his way through the woods looking for counselors to kill um yeah again
04:17i like the idea that he comes in clear with an axe this time around instead of an actual machete
04:22again i like the fact that the colors match pretty close to the rest of his body whether they be
04:26too
04:26dark or not again i really feel like the one pretty problem facing this figure isn't so much the fact
04:31we finally have a nintendo jason but just that the colors don't seem really like they match
04:36the recent released uh reissue nes jason couldn't help but notice though obviously that the colors
04:42of the purple and the blue for that matter aren't even matching at all the mask is about the only
04:47thing that's probably the closest in color but even then saying that i feel like this isn't nearly the
04:51same color of blue as what we get with the mask on this jason again i don't know why really
04:57that they
04:57chose not to give him the exact same purples it's not really like that they don't have the color already
05:01in their inventory just do what this guy was already doing and do it for this guy instead
05:06what we get though instead is kind of jason really with these muddled kind of muted purples and i don't
05:12think he really has the vibrancy that he really should have had instead now you could say based
05:17like again on the way that he's designed from friday the 13th the game as opposed to the original
05:22license maybe you could then look at this figure and say well that's the reasoning why they had to go
05:26with a little bit more of a darker color saying that though i do am happy finally to have an
05:32nes
05:32jason there's been several different customs available online and actually even just saying
05:37that there has been also an nes custom freddy but the kind of sell for like a hundred dollars and
05:41i
05:41for that i was just going to be willing to wait it out and hope that neca would eventually release
05:46one legitimately face wise mask wise they are exactly the same just that this one had the chevrons
05:52before and this one doesn't have it being that they already have also this mold i wonder if they're
05:56going to eventually release an adjacent universe jason slightly oh i guess they really wouldn't
06:01have to really change the the mask placement or the eye placement all that much maybe square off
06:05the eyes just a little bit and of course change the chevrons too but you never know maybe we might
06:10even be having this discussion at a later date where they might do a jason universe toony tears like
06:15it or not loathe it or not i think that would be certainly fun to finally get a toony tears
06:20release of
06:20him of course he gets the blue though in the mask although really the rest of the colors are all
06:25the
06:25kind of this more dark grayish purple it's not even just really that it's purple it's kind of
06:29really like a purplish gray a few war wounds there now the original jason would have actually had his
06:35skin showing um i guess you probably could have made the argument while his head is already really
06:40purple his hands are blue so i'm not really sure how that necessarily works but i guess you could
06:45have met somewhere in the middle maybe given the gash the open wound there maybe the same color as
06:49his hand instead of of course the head because of course that really wouldn't work all that well
06:53yeah it's it's a good looking jason he's got the blue feet to match the colors of his hands of
06:58course he's got more like the zombie hand so if you want to have the figure kind of pose that

07:01you could also twist the hand around it looks like jason's asked for a change
07:06for the figure's articulation by the way though i guess we could really keep that we'll keep the axe
07:11in there there's no real reason why i can't see what just leave the mask in or keep the axe

07:15for jason's articulation the head's going to rotate all the way around now the way they've attached the ball
07:22peg i guess it really just would be a peg the head is sort of more on an angle so
07:26when you do turn it
07:28jason turns sort of in a weird abrupt way where he's looking up to the sky
07:33of course forward and back is all you're really going to be getting for the head there always
07:36really is the limited articulation that goes with the two knee tears but that sort of is the charm of
07:40them as well the arms rotate all the way around this arm being of course straight this arm being bent
07:46it rotates all the way around the exact same way hand swivel this side hand swivels this side as
07:52well he has no articulation in the waist however though he does move his legs so you can move them
07:58forward and back i've tried to have the guy displayed on my shelf well the original jason
08:03kind of more in a walking stance it's not always the easiest thing to really pull off unless you use
08:08a display stand now he doesn't have a stand really included with him but he does have the same
08:14universally sized hole so if you happen to have yourself oh a black circular stand you probably
08:18already know the company i'm thinking of just attach that onto the bottom of jason's feet and you can
08:23actually have him walking love again the fact he gets these large clunking boots and again he does
08:28have articulation here nothing really though in his feet they do feel like they might have a little bit
08:33of mobility but they're quite really limited yeah i am happy i mean you know it's probably hard to
08:39read that in the review that i am happy you finally have an nes jason whether you attach it
08:44to the video game or you attach it to the original game of course what he's been based on the
08:48nintendo
08:49jason of course he's using the same body as the previous toony terror jason i can't really fault
08:55mecca necessarily for doing that it's the same jason after all just a little bit more well he's not
08:59pixelated he's a little bit more blue and gray but the thing about that though is that yeah he is
09:04more gray than he is really the blue i feel like they really should have upped the ante when it
09:09came
09:09to his colors they didn't necessarily need to go where's my where's the original packaging
09:14of course oh there it is it's right over here just to go bring back the packaging here he has
09:19like more purple a much more of a darker vibrant purple here and even like the original game had
09:25that too why they couldn't have just chosen like these colors to be a little bit more stand out on
09:30the figure because it's unfortunately the one thing that i don't like about the care i love the fact that
09:35we now finally have an nes video game jason i just wish though that the colors were a lot brighter

09:41what they actually are i had to go back because it was bothering me to bits it's paul bunyan paul
09:46bunyan and his aux blue which actually again speaking of blue i'm feeling a little blue that
09:51the colors of jason weren't a little bit more of a vibrant purple it's funny actually though with
09:55toony terror's nes jason and really freddy kruger i think they were announced way back in 2019 that
10:01they were going to be getting a december release i don't think that december release ever ended up
10:04happening we had to wait a while but we now finally have a nintendo inspired jason again the
10:10colors aren't the greatest that could have probably been a little bit better than what they were
10:13but at least this guy wasn't first of all a convention exclusive it was a readily available
10:18figure that you could get in retail i say that now i couldn't have gotten this guy in retail even
10:23if i
10:23tried or you could have been very easily able to get this guy either on neca sites or in the
10:28aftermarket
10:29i settled on the third option i mean obviously i couldn't find this guy in the stores
10:33i wasn't really going to be willing to buy this through a neca site just because again like
10:38it would have probably taken again a couple of months for this guy to finally arrive
10:41decided the third option the more likely expensive option got this guy on ebay
10:47in the end though i'm happy finally to have now jason on the shelf colors though again being the
10:52probably the one conflicting issue i have really with the figure why wasn't he just purple i mean like
10:57the packaging has a bright mask that's blue and he has the very bright purple costume why couldn't they've
11:03just done the same the gray is sort of a thing that just makes this guy feel and i say
11:08lifeless i
11:09mean everybody gets the joke of me talking about jason looking lifeless but the colors don't just feel
11:14like they pop as well as they should aside from that though happy to be finally now having a jason
11:19that could have displayed with the previous toony terror i've had on my shelf for years what do you
11:24guys think of the retro jason from of course the new friday 13th the game the way that of course
11:29nec is getting around this license everything's being slapped on there with friday 13th the game
11:36i mean more friday 13th the game figures well we already know we're getting a part eight jason we're
11:40getting also jason goes to hell jason with also the same banner keep that up can also help but notice
11:46that there's also a halloween game maybe that's one way that we'll finally get a 78 michael myers
