00:00Come Sunday, September 21st, runners and walkers will engage in the Venture Credit Union 5K and Fun Walk.
00:07Over $300,000 in prizes will be up for grabs, with the winner claiming the Desmond Baxter Challenge Trophy.
00:14They were commended for hosting it for a 25th time.
00:16This 25th anniversary is a remarkable achievement, one that follows a journey of trust by your shareholders and service to your members.
00:28Organizers are expecting as much as 2,000 participants. As a result, they are banking on a large police presence.
00:35As our president stated at last year's launch, our 5K run and Fun Walk is more than an event on the local road running calendar.
00:45It is a celebration of our collective spirit, resilience and unity.
00:51Both the defending champions, Nicholas Romany and Samantha Shukla, will be returning with the aim of recapturing their titles.
00:57We always want to do our best, right? But I'm also grateful that at this age and being a senior athlete that I'm still around, you know, looking at the promo video, I saw some of my competitors who no longer compete.
01:11And I'm grateful to God that I'm still involved in sports, in athletics, in road running. I'm grateful.
01:18Being the champion for the past two years is something very special and, you know, by the grace of God, I hope to do it again this year.
01:27Training has been going very, very good. You know, I just keep running PBs in races, you know, training really hard with my teammates and everything seems to be going smooth right now.
