The Finance Minister announced today that two new high/medium energy mobile X-ray scanners arrived in Trinidad on Sunday, November 3rd.

00:04scanners arrived in Trinidad on Sunday, November 3rd. In a statement, Minister
00:10Colm Imbert recalled that in January of this year, the Finance Ministry signed a
00:14contract with Canada-based Sectus Technologies for the purchase of four
00:18such scanners. The Finance Minister said the two new scanners will be
00:22strategically deployed at the Port of Port of Spain and the Port of Point
00:26Lisas following a two to three week commissioning period which would involve
00:30site acceptance, testing and training. The Minister said the other two scanners
00:35are expected to arrive in the country by later this month on November 24th.
00:40The Finance Minister said the procurement of the four scanners was at a
00:43cost of 12 million US dollars, inclusive of maintenance and technician training
00:48for customs and excise personnel.
