One of the suspects was shot dead inside the house, another suspect was detained.

Transcript
00:00As nightfall approached yesterday, police officers from various elite units closed in on the kidnappers of janky Sadie Karim, who was being held in a house in Rampanalgas along the Toko Main Road.
00:12It ended a nine-day ordeal for the victim who was snatched near Habasi Street home in Valstein two Sundays ago.
00:19Commissioner Alistair Guvaro making his way to the crime scene to not only offer support for his men, but also to give an account on how the operation unfolded in which one of the kidnappers, a 24-year-old man from Silots, was shot dead.
00:33As the officers would have approached the house, the male suspect would have held Ms. Karim hostage, was armed with a firearm, and sadly, the police officers had to use the use of force policy.
00:47And he was wounded and taken to hospital, where he succumbed subsequently.
00:55The victim, Ms. Karim, was also taken to hospital, where she was medically examined, and she is now reunited with her family.
01:04A female suspect is also in custody at this point in time.
01:07The commissioner urged the public to continue to partner with the police and share vital information to assist them in their crime fight.
01:15He gave an affirmation to dismantle criminal networks and warn criminals bent on opposing police.
01:21These are the criminal gangs that have amalgamated themselves into this syndicate and were using crimes such as robberies, extortion, and in this case, kidnapping, for the purposes of getting money so that they could fuel the rampant, what should I call it, attack on the good citizens of this country.
01:42This is a scenario that should have played out totally different had they, or had he, decided to give himself up, as I begged the members of the criminal networks, when confronted by my officers, please surrender and do not engage my officers.
02:00The commissioner also heaped praise on ACP Richard Smith, senior superintendent Winston Maraj, and superintendent Parryman, who spearheaded the intelligence-driven operation, which didn't end there.
02:12About four hours after that operation, police obtained information about another suspect connected to Karim's kidnapping, which led them to this house at Old Piarko Road in Dabody, where the commissioner said they were confronted by an armed suspect.
02:25He was fatally shot. The dead man was later identified as Zachari Williams of Red Hill, Dabody.
02:31Upon arrival at the home of one of the suspects, they announced their presence and was immediately confronted by the suspect, who was armed with a firearm.
02:43In keeping with the TTPS use of force policy, the officers discharged their service-issued firearms in response to the imminent threat.
02:52The suspect sustained injuries and was conveyed to the Arima Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
03:01One Glock 19 pistol with ammunition was recovered and seized at the scene.
03:08They also recovered a car in the Aruka area earlier yesterday afternoon, which they believe was connected to Karim's kidnapping.
03:15The commissioner said several intelligence-driven operations will continue during this state of emergency to root out all criminal networks.
