The body of a 73-year-old pensioner was found following what police suspect to be a deadly home invasion on Piparo Road, Tabaquite on Tuesday.

The victim’s son made the horrific discovery when he returned home from work.

Their house had been ransacked and the elderly man was found face down on his bed with his right hand behind his back.

Speaking with our Reporter Cindy Raghubar-Teekersingh on Wednesday, the victim’s brother said the community is shocked that such a crime could take place in their once peaceful village.
