The San Fernando East Constituency remains in the hands of the PNM.

Confirmation of this comes following the EBC completion of its recount of ballots for the seat, which brings to an end all requested recounts by the UNC.

00:00According to the Elections and Boundaries Commission in the San Fernando East constituency,
00:06the People's National Movement candidate Brian Manning received 7,017 votes
00:11compared to the initial 7,026 votes stated, a total of nine votes less.
00:18United National Congress candidate John Michael Alibocas got 6,344 votes
00:25compared to the 6,357 votes initially stated, a total of 13 votes less.
00:33And the Patriotic Front's candidate Kenrick Surratt got 502 votes
00:38compared to the initial 490 votes, a total of 12 additional votes.
00:45The EBC's recount also revealed 64 rejected ballots.
00:49It means that Manning secured the San Fernando East seat by a margin of 673 votes.
00:58The commission says, quote,
00:59This concludes the three general recounts requested by the United National Congress.
01:04All recounts were carried out according to Election Rule 101
01:08and included the verification of poll cards in line with established electoral procedures.
01:15The commission remains committed to transparency, accuracy, integrity and ensuring public trust in the electoral process.

01:25On May 3rd, the EBC completed a recount for the Aruka-Lupino constituency
01:30with the PNM securing 7,958 votes, the UNC 7,699 votes,
01:39the Patriotic Front 537 votes and the National Transformation Alliance 146 votes.
01:47It was a marginal win for the PNM over the UNC of 259 votes.
01:53There were 41 rejected ballots.
01:55The recount for Malibu-Mausica was also completed on May 3rd with the PNM getting 7,691 votes,
02:04the UNC 7,437 votes and the Patriotic Front 834 votes.
02:12The margin of success for the PNM over the UNC was by 524 votes.
