00:00Opposition leader Kamala Bassad-Bissessa has strongly criticized the People's National
00:05Movement accusing the party of running a divisive ground campaign.
00:10She highlights that the ground campaign differs significantly from statements made on platforms
00:16and in public interviews.
00:17Bassad-Bissessa says it is driven by what party foot soldiers say when they go campaigning
00:24door-to-door.
00:26The UNC leader also claims she has been demonized for calling out the PNM's tactics, but says
00:32an even greater concern is how Afro-Trinidadians who do not support the PNM are treated.
00:38She referenced a song by Calypso-Nyan Kro-Kro as an example.
00:42Bassad-Bissessa maintains the issue is not about race, but rather about dividing the
00:56majority of the population for the benefit of a minority group.
01:01The opposition leader also accuses a privately owned media company of aligning with the PNM
01:07to push anti-UNC agenda.
01:09They are elements of the Guardian Media and what are they there for?
01:12I make the point they are about protecting economic interests.
01:17She notes, however, that other media organizations provide balanced reporting, but she does not
01:22hold the same confidence in that particular media house.
01:26Bassad-Bissessa reiterates that the UNC is not a racist party, but one that seeks equality.
01:32She vowed to continue exposing what she describes as biased tactics.
