00:00on the table as well with autonomy being most prominent that is the most important mission for
00:06us as a tobago house of assembly and prime minister assured us that you know she's going
00:10to go right back to the drawing board with us our chief secretary was able to pull together
00:14all the previous iterations of bills brought before parliament and all the tobogonians have
00:20been clamoring for from as early as winston murray and a.n.r robinson up until now and so
00:25we brought all versions of it we brought together what was similar and the different the differences
00:30and we were able to come up with one solid document of what has remained consistent for tobogonians
00:36miss hackett said mps for tobago east and west david thomas and joelle samson respectively have also
00:44been advocating on behalf of the people of tobago and there are some non-negotiables in there and
00:50those were brought to the fore with prime minister mp for tobago east and west have also been advocating
00:54very strongly over the last couple of months um for us to really stay true to the very foundation
01:00of what the autonomy quest is and to not water it down and i think tobogonians have always had a
01:05challenge with the fact that government after government we've not been getting what what is
01:09really true to the very soul of tobago and what this quest for self-determination means and i think
01:14this prime minister understands the fact that you know we've we're going to continue to refuse it no
01:19matter who is in port of spain if it does not stay true to the very tenets of what it means to be
01:23at tobogon's assembly hackett said she believes the prime minister kamala pasad bisasa would keep her
01:29word and to have this type of island government and therefore we're expecting that the prime minister
01:34to stand to her word we have a very strong advocate and chief fighter in our chief secretary
01:39who you know refuses to take no for an answer and because he understands that tobago is not his to make
01:46determination for all sixty thousand plus of us have a stake in this and whatever we come up with
01:52must reflect the will of the people and i think that that is what the prime minister knows and
01:57understands and she knows a lot is riding on it and i think year after year and term after term we have
02:03this challenge of you know just right around an election period is when you're going to have that
02:08conversation before what is fortunate for us we've had a change in government and with a mandate from
02:13this government and with a mandate from us as a new political organization we expect that we'll sit
02:17at the table fresh heads pure hearts clean minds and go right back to what tobogonians have always
02:23clamored for not a watered on version of the bill but a true quest for the self-determination of the
