00:00Alongside Greg Anthony up by 20 and in speaking to Kenny Atkinson he's talked so much about
00:07the depth of this team and it's on full display here.
00:10Yeah.
00:10Game three.
00:11They've been dominant.
00:12How about their plus 24 points in a paint plus 10 off the turnovers and that's with
00:17Donovan Mitchell being pretty pedestrian and Darius Garland.
00:21So there's a reason why this team many like to have a chance to not just win this series
00:27who will potentially be playing for a championship.
00:31Now you go back to Wednesday night.
00:34The Heat did win the second half, right?
00:37Can they put something together like that?
00:40The offense struggle for the Cavaliers in game two in the second half.
00:45Yeah.
00:45Well, we talked about this guy right here.
00:46He's going to have to have at least six field goal attempts in that first half.
00:52So he's going to have to be more aggressive and productive.
00:55Mitchell doesn't go.
00:58Second chance here.
00:59Mitchell the three.
01:02And a stop for the Miami Heat.
01:05Hero 2-7 from the field.
01:08It's been out of Io.
01:09Offensively for Miami.
01:11Fading shot.
01:13Too strong.
01:15They're going to need a lot more than just out of Io.
01:18And I think the pace, I'm sorry, man.
01:21I think the pace needs to pick up, too.
01:22They're just not good enough to play the last five seconds of the shot clock consistently
01:27against this Cavs team.
01:32Davion Mitchell.
01:33Shot doesn't go.
01:34Only two fast break points for the Miami Heat.
01:37Donovan Mitchell's shot doesn't go.
01:40Let's send it over to Taylor Rooks.
01:42Thanks, man.
01:44I chatted with Heat assistant coach Chris Quinn, who said they have to chip away.
01:47There's no big play that's going to get them right back in it.
01:50Said offensively, the Heat spacing has to be a lot better.
01:53They're allowing the Cavs to shrink the court and getting too many turnovers because of it.
01:57But defensively, they're a great shooting team, but they're getting too many points in the paint.
02:02I asked him what the Cavs are doing defensively that causes so much disruption.
02:06He said they are in the gaps.
02:07They're making us pass the ball.
02:09We have to be committed to beating them with the pass, guys.
02:12And, Taylor, it's a great point, but you can play gaps when you're not in rotation,
02:18meaning when you're not winning matchups in terms of being able to break guys down
02:22and get into the teeth of that defense, they can just kind of play zone.
02:26Even though it's a man-to-man, if you watch him now, you see how this is like a zone.
02:30They don't have to move.
02:31They don't have to chase.
02:33They can just look at the basketball and squeeze it, and that's got to change.
02:37Third foul on Struis, and Hiro with a bucket.
02:42His third made field goal.
02:46So the Heat have strung together a couple of stops.
02:49They need that offense to get going.
02:53Hiro on Struis.
02:55Davey on the Mitchell on Donovan.
02:57Mitchell, Mitchell in the paint, fighting for it.
03:03Adebayo comes away with it.
03:05That was a heck of an effort there about Ware to not allow the finish,
03:09but then also a help for Bam to come out of that offensive line.
03:13Davey on the inside.
03:16And the foul.
03:17And they can bring together stops and then get out in transition.
03:24Here, Eric.
03:25Damian Mitchell, what a great look away there to draw the foul and the finish.
03:31We'll see if that can maybe get him going offensively as well.
03:38Donovan Mitchell picks up his second.
03:4362-46.
03:44Start of the third quarter.
03:49Cavs have yet to score.
03:54Adebayo with the denial, the deflection.
03:59Last touch by Bam.
04:00It's going to be Cavs ball five seconds on the shot clock.
04:03And we've seen this movie before, right,
04:06where the intensity rises in the second half for the Heat.
04:11Defense! Defense! Defense!
04:13The crowd coming alive.
04:14Defense! Defense! Defense!
04:16Defense! Defense!
04:17Davey on gets a stop and a shot clock violation.
04:21This is the kind of defense we've got to see partner in game two in that second half.
04:28You can see Mitchell just moving his feet,
04:30not giving up that angle for Mitchell to turn the corner,
04:35getting the crowd back engaged.
04:37Defense! Defense! Defense! Defense! Defense!
04:41Three minutes into the second half of game three.
04:45Pirro attacking.
04:48The offhand doesn't go.
04:49Struis is going to come away with it.
04:56Davey on cuts off.
04:58Donovan Mitchell, the screen works for Allen as Allen rolls.
05:01Struis, but Bam was there.
05:03Struis back up top.
05:05Struis, the offensive rebound put back.
05:09And that time, when you overextend defensively like the Heat did on that possession,
05:15it does create opportunities.
05:17I'm going to get another grab on Bam.
05:2012 turn over.
05:24Just a little hesitant there.
05:26Not a little unsure in terms of the move.
05:29And this is what shot blocking does, though.
05:32You can see that left pivot just drug a little bit before the shot went up.
05:39Marrow the corner three.
05:41Weak side board for Adebayo.
05:45Bam.
05:46Stopped by Mobley.
05:55Davey on.
05:57Ware left open from downtown.
06:00Carter Cree got it.
06:03And a turnabout taken by Kenny Atkinson.
06:06The offense still a bit of a grind here for Miami.
06:10I think that, but their defense starting to dictate to at least give them some hope here to get back in the series.
06:18That ball fake.
06:20And then the three ball.
06:229-2 run to open the quarter.
06:28Stars out.
06:29Matinee.
06:30Saturday.
06:31Shakira.
06:32Shakira.
06:32I already follow Shakira.
06:35I follow Floyd.
06:36Matinee.
06:36Mayweather.
06:37But I got to start following Brody that dude.
06:40I wasn't following Brody before today.
06:42Brody got the ticket.
06:44He's ready to go.
06:471.6 million followers on Insta for Brody that dude.
06:52Here's Allen.
06:53He's been a dude.
06:54And that was, again, the defense has gotten better.
06:57So, he's not able to just catch and dunk.
07:00But that's where his improvement is.
07:01His decision making when he catches it in space.
07:04If he can't finish, now he's got that floater.
07:06But he's also improved his ability to pass out of that position as well.
07:1118-10.
07:12Had a double-double in game one of this series.
07:15Hero in the paint with a floater.
07:17And Mobley able to tear down on the rebound.
07:2366-49.
07:24Merrill drive.
07:25Kick.
07:26Struis interior pass back outside to Mitchell.
07:31And a 10 of the shot clock.
07:33Mitchell guarded by Mitchell.
07:35Screen set.
07:36They get the switch.
07:37Now back over to Sam Merrill.
07:38Over the three.
07:40Mobley unable to finish.
07:42Popped out.
07:43Davey out of Mitchell.
07:44Ahead now to Wiggins.
07:46And Wiggins misses just one of five here.
07:49Yeah, and that's a situation where if you're Wiggins and you got Sam Merrill there,
07:54you've got to be able to finish through him.
08:00Mitchell.
08:00And a quick timeout.
08:03Yeah, second half talking to himself like, yeah, that's a tough shot, but I got that in my bag.
08:09Yeah, he has been known to deliver.
08:12And when you need him, Smeider from deep.
08:18Cavaliers up 69-49.
08:21Another 20-point lead first round.
08:24NBA action presented by Nerd Wallet.
08:27Heat down 20 again.
08:34Donovan Mitchell started the quarter 0-5 from the field, and then he hit that three-pointer.
08:41And you know that's all it takes for Wiggins to see one go through.
08:47You saw that in the fourth quarter.
08:49Can Wiggins get going?
08:50Craddles in the three.
08:52Shaking his head like finally.
08:54Oh, they need that.
08:56They do.
08:56And he's really their X factor.
08:58He's a guy who can be dynamic.
09:01Offense, and he had a 40-point game late in the season, a 30-point game as well before the injury.
09:07Hunter gets it right back from the corner.
09:11Wiggins averaged 20 in the two play-in games.
09:14Davion attacking.
09:17Chance to get out and go for the Heat.
09:19Said it before, they need more of that.
09:25Ty Jerome.
09:29And a foul.
09:31And Bill Kennedy saying it's on the floor.
09:35And the foul's going to be on Hero.
09:38He foul.
09:39It's going to be shot out of bounds for the Cavaliers as Dean Wade checks in.
09:43Wade in for Merrill.
09:48And that's the other thing.
09:49Everybody who's come on the floor for the Cavs has had a positive impact.
09:53Wade came up with some great loose balls.
09:55He's been terrific point of attack defensively as well.
10:03Jerome.
10:04Deep three.
10:06Feeling it.
10:08Ty Jerome from distance.
10:10Looking like he did in game one.
10:13Just what a luxury to have a guy with that skill set and positional size coming off your bench.
10:21Unrestricted free agent in the summer.
10:24Hello.
10:25As Wiggins misses.
10:2821-point lead.
10:29Largest of the day for the Cavs.
10:33And kicked out of bounds.
10:36Ty Jerome's been so good with his decision-making.
10:40All game long.
10:42Able to knock down the triple.
10:46And then Crew is feeling the way he's playing.
10:49Also a game high eight assists as well.
10:53Bench for the Cavs.
10:55Plus 21.
10:57Jerome on the road this year during the regular season shot.
11:01Better than 46% from three.
11:04As Davion's are going to get called for the foul guarding Hunter.
11:10He's just been so impactful.
11:12And Hunter here in game three off of the bench with 19.
11:17He has just exploded.
11:19And this is the danger zone right now.
11:21If you remind me he's the entire series probably rests on the next three minutes.
11:29Jerome clock down.
11:31Jerome.
11:32Finger roll.
11:33Looks back at the bench.
11:36Collision underneath.
11:44Bam is down.
11:48And it's slow to get up.
11:50Goes up and then over top of Highsmith.
11:53Tennis.
11:55It's a dangerous fall.
11:57And he wasn't able to get his hands down to break that fall.
12:02That's.
12:03That is painful.
12:06He is up now.
12:09He is just so tough.
12:11Had a bio five time All-D.
12:2215.6 rebounds here in game three.
12:28And Spolstra coming over having a word with Rodney Maude.
12:32And I think they want to take Bam saying, hey, I'm fine.
12:35But I'm going to bring Ware in.
12:39And I think John Goble is saying that he's got to come out that extended time on the floor.
12:55And Bam's just going to go right back to the scorer's table.
12:59To be expected.
13:01You know how tough that young man is.
13:04And as we said, I think they all sense right now that something's got to happen here in the next
13:09few minutes if the Heat want to have any chance of salvaging this series.
13:19Mobley in for Allen.
13:21Davey out of Mitchell up top.
13:2877 to 54.
13:31Cavs here in game three.
13:34Robinson back over to Davey out of Mitchell.
13:37Clocked down.
13:38Wade staying with him.
13:41Heisman has to release in a hurry.
13:43And Mobley will bring it across the timeline.
13:48Dean Wade rises up.
13:50And the three doesn't go.
13:52Batted out of bounds.
13:53And last touch by Hero.
13:55And that last offensive possession kind of indicative of the entire game.
14:00Just stagnant.
14:01Miami not able to really create any space.
14:05And you end up taking a force tough deep three.
14:08How much of that has been the defense of the Cavaliers?
14:13Just a lack of movement offensively by the Miami Heat.
14:16Their offense is allowing the size of Miami from Cleveland to take it.
14:25Corner three for Mitchell.
14:31Back to 20.
14:33On the drive.
14:35Ty Jerome.
14:38Flexin'.
14:39Not good.
14:40He continues to excel here.
14:44Look at that disparity.
14:45Points in the paint.
14:48325 left in the third.
14:51Again cut off.
14:54Mitchell in the paint.
14:58Jerome with the rebound.
15:00Just no flow offensively for Miami.
15:05Cleveland's just done a great job of kind of boosting up what they want to do.
15:10And then at that point it just takes them out of having an opportunity.
15:14Offense, you want to create an advantage.
15:16Right?
15:16You want to put a team in rotation where you as an offensive player get to dictate.
15:22And that's just not been the case here because of how good Cleveland's been defensively.
15:27Particularly at the point of attack.
15:30Donovan Mitchell rising up.
15:33Doesn't go.
15:34Hero.
15:35Long rebound.
15:37Cleveland gets back.
15:39Hero through the paint with a left.
15:42Got it.
15:43But even that, right?
15:44How difficult was that?
15:46Finish by Hero in a crowd.
15:49No basket, according to Rodney Bond.
15:56You know, you don't see this very often.
15:58Off of a made three.
16:00Look how quickly they get it in.
16:01They recognize an advantage.
16:03The kick ahead gives Taj room really an opportunity to go one-on-one against Hero.
16:08Just a great heads-up play by Mobley there to get that ball in bounds.
16:14That's going to be his fourth.
16:25Earn badges to win prizes with the NBA ID Playoffs Challenge.
16:30Members in the U.S. and Canada who complete the challenge get the chance at a trip to the NBA Draft.
16:38Play now in the NBA app or on NBA.com slash ID.
16:43Draft lottery, May 12th.
16:45He comes away with Cooper Flagg as Mitchell misses.
16:54And again, you mentioned this earlier, no Darius Garland.
16:58You look at Donovan, just 3 of 13, 2 of 7.
17:01From 3-1 of 3 from the foul line.
17:04But yet, Jerome double figures off of the bench.
17:07Hunter double figures off of the bench.
17:09Allen has been tremendous.
17:11Plus 25 off the bench.
17:13And you talked about, like, this is why you look at them as a championship team.
17:18Because when your best player can struggle, and you're arguably your third, second best player that even played,
17:27and you're manhandling a team in the postseason, that speaks highly of the makeup of this roster.
17:33And their ability to play multiple styles as well, right?
17:38They can beat you inside, but then also that three ball as well.
17:42Big, small, and they can win it with their offense.
17:46They can win it with their defense.
17:49They are a tough team.
17:50I tell you, they have been really impressive how connected and disciplined they've been in front of the game.
17:57They are a tough team.
18:01Hero.
18:04Robinson.
18:09You haven't seen a lot of that, but again, an attack by Hero.
18:14He breaks down the defense, and Robinson all he gets.
18:17Liggins with the denial, Adebayo, here's Robinson, cut off, working with Bam, Mobley on him, Hunter with three fouls, guards, Davion, the cut by Bam Adebayo.
18:35The other thing Kenny Atkinson talked about, the maturity of this team, and players know who they are, their own identity and how that fits in, as Mobley finishes in traffic and is fouled.
18:51And that last possession, indicative of that, right, they get the stop defensively, then they get a direct post here.
18:58Old school basketball, and download a Mobley for the end run.
19:03Had Wiggins on him and said, all right, I'm going to take advantage of this mismatch.
19:08And Bam, on the double, unable to do anything.
19:12Mobley, three-point play.
19:1683-62, a dozen for Mobley, the Defensive Player of the Year in the NBA.
19:24Bam, comes up short, his own rebound, finger roll, rolls around and throws.
19:33Miami just not able to get any stops, his offense has been outstanding, tight, Jerome is fouled by Duncan Robinson.
19:41Yeah, an easy call there, just great patience by Jerome, knowing he's got Mobley there, rolling to the basket, able to draw the contact.
19:52Jerome, at the line, how about that, tied Jerome.
20:01A little impactful there, right?
20:04He's been terrific, and he's been great in all phases, solid defensively, understanding what the Heat are trying to accomplish.
20:13Great game.
20:14Coming up later today, Thunder and Grizz can the Grizzlies hold on without John Morant, and then Kawhi and the Joker, followed by the Rockets and the Warriors.
20:30The packed Saturday of hoops.
20:32It has been all Cleveland, a minute left here in the third, and Adebayo is fouled.
20:50They have had no answers to Miami Heat.
20:52He's just done such a good job of not even allowing Miami's offense to really get going.
21:01It's just been a lot of one-pass attack.
21:06And not a lot of success.
21:1014 on the shot clock as Robinson gets it in to Adebayo.
21:20Hero.
21:22Just 4 of 11.
21:27Now 4 of 12 from the floor.
21:30Uwe has been silent today, and that is a rarity for him.
21:36Their top scorer, career high, nearly 24 points during the regular season.
21:41Dean Wade, corner three.
21:44Weak side.
21:44Mobley and Adebayo going after it.
21:47Bam.
21:49Wants a coach's challenge.
21:51It's going to be Cleveland basketball.
21:57Doesn't look like Spoh.
21:58Had any confidence on that challenge.
22:01They don't challenge much.
22:02We talked about it the other night.
22:03That was a shocking step.
22:0418.
22:0518 times.
22:06In the regular season, they did win one.
22:08Wednesday, Mitchell Spider.
22:12It's such a difficult shot.
22:15Going left, step back, breathe.
22:17Biggest lead, 24.
22:23Seven seconds left here in the third.
22:26Davion stripped.
22:29Wanted to call.
22:31Won't get it.
22:33Four seconds remaining in the third.
22:35And a slow start to the third quarter for the Cavaliers, but it has heated up.
22:50Yeah, not the way that Miami wants it.
22:52And even though they did get off to a slow start, offensively, their defense is still really good.
22:58It still kept them comfortably ahead.
23:01Never really allowed the Heat to shrink that lead.
23:07Game clock at four now.
23:11Bam.
23:12The three doesn't go.
23:15And through three quarters, it is all Cleveland, 88-64.
23:21They have dominated every facet of this game, even with their best player struggling from the field.
23:30Six Cavaliers in double digits.
23:34Brody, that dude.
23:36Oh.
23:40Time for greatness on the court, fueled by Gatorade.
23:43I mean, there's so many ways you could go with this balanced attack of the Cavs.
23:48But Ty Jerome has really been the catalyst.
23:52Set the tone more so with his passing in that first half.
23:55A career-high eight assists in the postseason.
23:58But then he got it going with the shot as well.
24:01And what a luxury to have he and DeAndre Hunter off that bench.
24:06Look at that plus-minus.
24:08Coming into the game, he was plus 26, I think, the first two games.
24:12So, when he has been on the floor, the Cavs have been at their best.
24:17They have done it in the paint.
24:2042-18, you saw how Jerome was able to get into the paint and find others.
24:26Coming into game three.
24:29Miami was plus 12 in points in the paint.
24:33It's shooting just 39% in the paint here in game three are the heat.
24:41Yeah, this has been a complete domination defensively through three quarters.
24:46Wiggins pushes it up and through as he got a little bit of space from Hunter.
24:54You know, Matt, back in the day, up 24, going into the fourth, he'd say this thing is over.
25:01But with the three-point shooting, anything is possible.
25:05Mobley, Mobley, he saw that in game two on a Wednesday.
25:11Able to cut it late, 105, 103, but not able to overcome that two-point deficit.
25:18And that big steal by Max Struis, laid with about 24 seconds to go.
25:23And the flurry of threes by the Cavs.
25:27Here's Mobley.
25:28But look at how open the paint is because of the threat of a three-point shot.
25:32They just, you got to stay home on those shooters.
25:35And then just defensively, they have been so disruptive playing those passing lanes.
25:42Hunter with the deflection.
25:45He's been outstanding.
25:47Both bands.
25:48Turnover.
25:49Hero to Davion Mitchell.
25:53Davion.
25:55Yes to the iron.
25:58Mitchell.
26:03Davion with 14 of his 18 in game two of the fourth.
26:06Struis with an easy bucket.
26:08Yeah, that pick and roll.
26:10Weak side that is empty has created problems all game long for the Heat.
26:16Adebayo over to Mitchell.
26:18Here's Wiggins.
26:19Wiggins now attacking.
26:21Struis.
26:23Principal of verticality.
26:25A great recognition by Struis from that weak side.
26:28Saw the advantage created by Wiggins.
26:31Struis knocks it down.
26:35You know he's loving it here.
26:38Having spent some time with the Heat.
26:40Right now he is the one with the Heater.
26:43On to the NBA Finals with the Heat in 2023.
26:48Max Struis.
26:50Loving it.
26:51Donovan Mitchell says, yeah.
26:55Cavs come big.
27:00The 2025 NBA playoffs are presented by Google.
27:0595-68 during the regular season.
27:08Cavs third best road record in the NBA behind Boston and Oklahoma City.
27:14They have been tremendous here on this Saturday.
27:21Limiting Miami to now 70 points.
27:23His band's able to get into the band over top.
27:27Yeah, they've just done a great job with Hero.
27:30They play him topside so they don't allow him to come off the handoff or the pin down.
27:35Mobley attacking the iron.
27:40They have just been clicking at all cylinders.
27:44Just great awareness and spacing.
27:47Playing without the basketball and then locked in defensively.
27:52Wiggins.
27:53Chumper doesn't go out of my offensive rebound.
27:56And the play back.
27:58And the play back.
27:59It took the Cavaliers seven games to get by Orlando in the first round.
28:04But it doesn't appear.
28:06And that'll be the case here this season.
28:08Yeah, this is a different version of the Cavs.
28:12This team far more deep, more physical.
28:16And boy, can they shoot the basketball.
28:18And partner Todd Jerome continues to set up his teammates for success.
28:26He's got a double-double, 13 points, 10 assists, 10 assists, a career high for him.
28:32It's been an impressive performance.
28:34It's about no turnovers to go along with that.
28:38He turned it over as a team collectively nine times.
28:43Miami 13 blocked down once again.
28:47Swarming defense.
28:51Atabayo.
28:53Shot doesn't go.
28:55Another stop for the Cavaliers.
28:57Mobley.
28:57Mobley.
29:01The three.
29:04Evan Mobley.
29:06And right now, the Heat look demoralized.
29:08They really are not playing with any confidence or any hope.
29:13Davey on against the bucket.
29:18Eric Spolster's teams in Miami have only been swept one time in a playoff series.
29:24That was back in 2020-2021 in the first round against the Milwaukee Bucks.
29:32And the Bucks, you know what they did that year?
29:35Yeah.
29:36Yeah.
29:36They went all the way through and won it.
29:39Time for our TNT game break presented by PayPal, SGA, and Jalen Williams looking for the sweep against Memphis.
29:53It would be tough without Jha.
29:55Oh, it will be how incredible was that comeback zone points in the second half.
30:01Yeah.
30:06Bill Kennedy.
30:09Don Goble.
30:09And there was a foul prior to the inbounds.
30:15It's going to lead to Mitchell stepping to the free pro line.
30:20Foul on BAM.
30:22The second.
30:25It has been a balanced attack for the Cavaliers.
30:32I mean, look at Donovan Mitchell.
30:34He's 2 of 5 from the foul line, but six players have scored between 13 and 19 points.
30:41Yeah, and that, again, I go back to it.
30:44When your team can play at this level, when your best players aren't really having their typical impact,
30:52because DeAndre Hunter delivers again, it just speaks to the depth and the potential that this guy has this year.
31:00But 21 points off of the bench for Hunter Struis only came away with it.
31:06And it's going to be Miami basketball.
31:08It was 7 to 46 to go.
31:10I mentioned how Eric Spolscher's only been swept once.
31:15That was against Milwaukee.
31:16And the only time the Heat have come back from a 0-2 deficit.
31:21Go back to the NBA Finals in 2006.
31:24Davion Schott doesn't go.
31:26Larson with a rebound against Dallas.
31:29Dallas up 2-0, and then D. Wade went off game three.
31:35Bam with a three.
31:36And a ball!
31:38Three!
31:39That was still one of the more amazing comebacks.
31:42I remember that he was working at Finals, and that was in that game three.
31:46Remember, Dirk Nowitzki missed a free throw late that allowed the Heat, I think, to get to overtime in that game three.
31:53And then the rest was history.
31:56Allen, and he's fouled.
32:02He was so productive early.
32:04They've taken away a rebound, so he has 18 points and nine rebounds now in just 24 minutes.
32:12But, you know, what's impressive when you watch Cleveland also, they're at that point, they play egoless basketball.
32:19They really do a great job of just trying to create the best opportunity for the team.
32:26Every Path has a price, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
32:32Don't miss the new season of the Emmy-winning HBO original series, The Last of Us, streaming Sundays at 9 p.m. exclusively on Max.
32:43Yeah, I've got to get back into that series.
32:45Yeah.
32:45I watched the first season.
32:46Are you a zombie guy?
32:49You're not a zombie guy.
32:51You're not a zombie guy.
32:51You're not a zombie guy.
32:52That's mental.
32:57Shot doesn't go.
32:58And is this the last of the Heat as we send it over to Taylor?
33:03Thanks, Mike.
33:04You all were talking about egoless basketball, and I chatted with Donovan Mitchell.
33:08He said this year he's learned about the joys of sacrifice, the difference between winning basketball and individual basketball.
33:14He said taking over a game doesn't necessarily mean having 50.
33:17It means what can he get out of everyone else?
33:20How can he empower his teammates?
33:22Understanding that Evan Mobley will have to be an all-NBA player for them to be successful.
33:26That means Donovan's touches go down, his minutes go down, his patterns will change.
33:30But it's brought success, wins, and he said made him a much better leader, guys.
33:34That is on full display here in game three.
33:39And to Taylor's point, you can tell how the guys have responded to him.
33:44Well, that's a perfect guy.
33:45How about that give-and-go action there?
33:47Just unselfishness and the joy with which this Cavs group is playing with.
33:54It has been a dominant performance with the Heat.
33:58They're expected to respond, and they have not been able to here.
34:06Adebayo up top, guarded by Allen over top.
34:10Allen, tough shot, doesn't go, and Wade with it.
34:13540 to go here in the fourth quarter.
34:17Hunter.
34:18Deflected by Wiggins.
34:22Hunter with 21, his playoff career high when he was with the Hawks.
34:27Interestingly enough, against Miami back in 2022, he had 35 points as Ware is going to check in for Bam Adebayo.
34:3622 points and nine rebounds for Bam.
34:42Cavaliers basketball.
34:48Struis finds Allen, trying to throw it down, fouled by Ware.
34:56So another just great example of the passing and spacing there on the interior with Struis and Allen.
35:04Perfect from the line, 4-4.
35:16Now 5-5.
35:18The chase for the Stanley Cup continues tomorrow at 12.30 Eastern on TBS and Max.
35:24With four game fours, the Jets and the Blues.
35:27Carolina in Devils, Capitals in Montreal, and the Kings in Edmonton as the Oilers were able to come back late last night and get a W.
35:40LA leads a series 2-1.
35:42And on TBS right now, Tampa and Florida, and the defending Stanley Cup champions.
35:49Go to Panthers, and a timeout on the floor with 5.25 to go here in Game 3.
35:58All cats.
36:01One-stop destination for all things NBA.
36:04Get live scores, breaking news, and highlights from today's games.
36:08Download the Bleacher Report app now.
36:105.25 to go here in Game 3, and the top seed, the Cleveland Cavaliers up big, 108-79.
36:23Jaime Hawkins Jr.
36:26He's going to check in.
36:27Larson, Jovich, Robinson, and Ware.
36:31Yes, they're exposed for waving the proverbial white towel right now.
36:37Just game four out of Monday here in Miami.
36:45They just have not been in this situation often.
36:51And Mitchell now is going to check out.
36:54This will Jared Allen, Okoro, Wade, Struess.
37:00What a game for Max Struess.
37:02He's like, all right, I'm out.
37:0318 points, 4 and 9 from 3, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, no turnovers for Max Struess.
37:11And only 9 turnovers as a team.
37:14They just, their style of play is really impressive in terms of the spacing, the ball movement.
37:22You know, they have the versatility with their roster.
37:25They can go big.
37:26They can go small.
37:27Tristan Thompson, the veteran, won a title with the Cavaliers.
37:35Porter with it.
37:37Greg Porter, junior in his second year out of Wichita State.
37:40Underneath to the rookie, Jalen Tyson.
37:43Lays it up and in.
37:441-10-79.
37:45So, you look to game number four out of Monday night as the Cavs go for this sweep.
37:54Everything that Miami has attempted, they just, they just have not had enough.
38:01And offensively, as we've talked about, and you've mentioned it, that they're just stagnant.
38:08The lack of ball movement.
38:09But, how do they extend this series?
38:14Yeah, listen, pride's going to have to play a big part of it, right?
38:18You never want to get swept.
38:21You know, it's one thing to lose a series, but you, from a pride standpoint, you want to get one.
38:26You don't want them celebrating on your home court.
38:29So, I would expect they're going to come out with great pride in that fourth game.
38:33But, to your point, will they, do they have enough?
38:36I mean, they're going to have to play an exceptional game and probably rely upon Cleveland being somewhat off.
38:43But, they had no answers on either side of the ball today.
38:50Cora with the foul.
38:51Robinson, the free throw is good.
38:53The 2025 MLB season is here in TBS.
38:57As you covered all season long, watch the Padres battle the Yankees May 6th at 6 p.m. Eastern.
39:03On TBS and stream on Max.
39:10Kobe Altman for the Cavaliers decided to make a coaching change after reaching the second round last season for the first time in 2017-2018 season.
39:22Of course, J.B. Bickerson has done an outstanding job in Detroit.
39:26But, Kenny Atkinson coming in, the way they play offense, the defense, and then you add DeAndre Hunter at the deadline.
39:36And, to your point, it's not a matter of whether or not someone's a good coach.
39:41Sometimes you want to make a philosophical change as well.
39:44And, I think that's what Kobe Altman did.
39:46But, he didn't just rest on that.
39:48Because, remember, even though they've been having a great season, they go out and make that move at the deadline to get DeAndre.
39:54And, to kind of bolster.
39:57And, that was a bit of a concern, right?
39:59But, do you want to disrupt what you've been doing?
40:01But, having the foresight to understand the impact that a guy like Hunter brings.
40:06He can be a first option offensively at times for you.
40:09He's a terrific defender.
40:11Spaces it well because of the great shooting.
40:14And, he has had his ups and downs.
40:16But, I think he's been a really good acquisition for this group when they'll continue on this title push.
40:23Devontae Green with a putback 115-81.
40:28Of course, J.B. Dickerson.
40:30When you look at that Pistons team and improvement at 30 games and right to the iron, the rookie Tyson.
40:39Yeah, they have the heat been demoralized in this game.
40:42And, it's, you know, you don't say anyone's quit.
40:45But, I just think their spirit's been broken.
40:49Larson finds Yovic.
40:51Corner three is good.
40:53And, you rarely say that about a heat to you.
40:57Yeah, that has definitely been the case.
40:59Bolstra, a lot of the traits and characteristics that Pat Riley, the great Pat Riley, is famous for.
41:05And, they've been able to instill that into that group.
41:08But, there are times where you go against an opponent that just can overwhelm you.
41:13And, that's kind of been the case here today with the Cavs.
41:17Played for Riley in New York.
41:20The Godfather looking on.
41:23Yeah, imagine his thoughts right now.
41:26Well, you know one thing they're doing is trying to come up with a plan that's going to allow them to get back to the top of that mountain in that Eastern Conference.
41:35Because, they're going to have to look to do some things differently, personnel-wise.
41:40妳ve into three.
41:42Jove into three.
41:44Doesn't go.
41:45And, Tristan Thompson with a rebound.
41:47With a 144 left here in game three.
41:51The Cavaliers won nineteen-84.
41:55And, Okoro!
41:57They're not done yet!
41:58with the reverse and it's not
42:05damn out of bio he said you know
42:07come back to the crib and get
42:09one and extend this series have
42:13not been a good home court team
42:16this season.
42:18They have not and they still have
42:21the chance to get one but boy
42:24this one this one will sting.
42:28And a free is good from Okoro 124
42:3384.
42:36Cavaliers if you go back to the
42:38regular season this is going to
42:39be their fifth consecutive win
42:41against Miami.
42:45They are a tough matchup for most
42:47teams but particularly Miami just
42:50in terms of how they're built.
42:53And the style they want to play
42:55it's definitely been a challenge
42:57for Eric's most of his staff.
43:00Think about Miami and Eric's
43:02closer said this we need to be more
43:04stubborn and typically that's just
43:06you know the defense digging in but
43:08Cavaliers you know they have been
43:12able to really dissect that defense.
43:16And today's a prime example you have
43:1915 to 40 from three but they got into
43:21the interior and Allen and Mobley
43:23were lights out on the inside.
43:25Yeah they just stress you because of
43:28the skill set of everybody that they
43:31feature but also the
43:33going to the game in terms of their
43:35unselfishness the spacing cutting
43:39the they do it all and willingness to
43:41share 31 assists as that three is
43:47good Allen with twenty two hundred
43:50with twenty one of Mobley nineteen
43:52three.
43:53Struis eighteen Donovan Mitchell
43:55thirteen tied Jerome thirteen.
43:57No get Darius Garland.
43:59No problem.
44:00No one today.
44:01This has been one of the more
44:03impressive performances especially
44:06knowing you tough win in game two.
44:09You come in with the mindset Miami's
44:11going to bring it.
44:11No Darius Garland and you come out
44:12and put forth your best performance
44:14thus far here in the postseason.
44:19Mitchell and the Cavs take game
44:22three they lead this best of seven
44:24series three games to none over the
44:27Miami Heat with game four coming
44:30up on a Monday night thirty seven
44:33a point to win today the third
44:35largest in franchise playoff history
44:38for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
44:42I got to tip my cap.
44:43They were impressive looking every
44:46bit like the one seat.
44:49Let's send it over to Taylor Rooks.
44:55Hey Matt I am here with Defensive
44:57Player of the Year Evan Mobley.
44:59You certainly showed that tonight.
45:01How did you all just completely
45:03disrupt the heat.
45:04We just came out with energy.
45:06They came out of the first
45:07quarter and got a little energy.
45:08We took the first punch and from
45:10there we just took the game out
45:12and they came out of the first
45:13game.
45:15They came out of the first quarter
45:16and they came over and played
45:17harder than them.
45:18And this was a great response
45:19game after a shaky second quarter
45:21in game two.
45:22What role did just composure play in
45:23getting this win.
45:24It was a big role.
45:25They came out with energy like you
45:26said.
45:27We had to stay composed stay with
45:28our game plan and I felt like we
45:29stuck with it played our defensive
45:30game planning and got out in
45:31transition.
45:32And unfortunately there was no
45:33Darius Garland in this one you
45:34all were still able to succeed.
45:35What did you show about what this
45:37offense can do.
45:38Yeah.
45:39It's the next man up mentality
45:40even when there is a big score
45:42of ours is out.
45:43Next man up mentality.
45:44So everyone stepped up and scored
45:47at will basically.
45:48You have a chance at the sweep.
45:50What do you have to do next game.
45:52We got to come in composed.
45:54They going to fight hard for this
45:56last one.
45:57So we got to fight even harder.
45:58We got to fight even harder.
45:59Thank you so much Evan.
46:00Good win.
46:01Back to you.
46:02Kenny Atkinson said of Evan Mobley
46:05he is desperate to be great.
46:07And he was great tonight.
46:09He's been great all season.
46:11The defensive player of the year.
46:13How about this.
46:14The Heat have dropped seven straight
46:17at home in the postseason.
46:19Their last home playoff win came
46:21in twenty twenty three.
46:23Coming up next on TNT it's game
46:25four between the Thunder and the
46:27Grizzlies for Taylor Rooks.
46:29Greg Anthony and the rest of our
46:31outstanding TNT crew.
46:32I'm Matt Devlin saying so long
46:34from Miami.
46:35After the break we'll send it to
46:37our Atlanta studio.
