00:00Roll to the air, crumbling pocket, finds his receiver at about the three, Jake Bobo's got it.
00:06A terrific blocker, a good receiver, Baldwin makes the stop, game down near the three, four-yard line at Green Bay.
00:15It's fourth and goal for Seattle.
00:19Nice job in the pocket there out of Mill Road, doesn't panic, doesn't have his first option, has one hitch, finds Bobo.
00:25He's a good safety valve.
00:27We've seen Bobo make all kinds of plays in the preseason.
00:30He's one of those guys, they don't consider him a burner, but he's sneaky quick and he always finds a good hold.
00:36And again, with Metcalf gone and Lockett gone, there's some space there.
00:40Fourth and goal for Mill Road.
00:42They rush five, deflected, incomplete.
00:46The pecker defense holds.
00:48The pecker defense holds, and I think it was Alexander, Deslin Alexander, who got a hand on the ball,
00:54and it ricocheted away, incomplete.
01:00Alexander already has a sack in this preseason.
01:03Another big defensive play for him as he tries to carve a spot on this 53.
01:10Beautiful day in Green Bay with the ground game stats powered by Cenex.
01:15Feel your fandom.
01:15Stop by your local Cenex to stock up on snacks and fuel before your next Packers game.
01:20Cenex is the proud petroleum partner of the Green Bay Packers.
01:26Nice stand with a goal to go by Green Bay's defense.
01:30First and ten.
01:31Back at quarterback now is Sean Clifford.
01:34Chased and throws incomplete.
01:36It'll be second down and ten.
01:38You know, that was a great stand down by the goal line, Kevin, but you know who's going to get all kinds of flowers for that last drive defensively?
01:46It'll be Jonathan Baldwin for not taking off the play, hustling, and getting down the running back right on that big run there
01:54because if he doesn't hustle and stop that thing, that ends up being a touchdown, in which case he stops them,
02:00and now the defense goes out there and holds their ground.
02:03He's going to get all kinds of praise for that play.
02:04The Cedar Smith is still the center for Green Bay.
02:09Telford is the left tackle.
02:11The rookie belt in the right tackle.
02:13Outside it goes Cornelius Johnson.
02:15And wrestle down, and again, Drake Thomas, who's been all over the place, limits him to a gain of a yard.
02:22And it's out just beyond the five, and it's third and nine for Green Bay
02:26after their defense held Seattle out of the end zone on a goal to go.
02:31I don't know.
02:34Try and hit that quick two-man screen game on the outside there.
02:39Need a little better blocking out of Will Shepard to get that thing moving.
02:42Jennings has now moved to the left guard.
02:45Tyler Cooper is the right guard for Green Bay.
02:48Third down and nine.
02:51Monaconda is the running back, and he's out of the backfield with the backpedaling.
02:55Catch it about the 11 and shy of the first down.
02:58Met by a trio of players, including Tyler Hall.
03:01So it's fourth and three.
03:03The punting unit comes out for Green Bay.
03:07And the Seattle defense gets a three and out on the Packers.
03:16Bobo is back inside the 35 for Seattle.
03:20Daniel Whelan has probably got the strongest leg at the punter position for Green Bay in a long time,
03:28is back there.
03:30He is in his third year.
03:32Windy and Lambeau today and lets his baby fly.
03:36And Bobo will catch it on the backpedal at the 24.
03:39Hang time of 4-8-9, which allows the Packers special teamers to get down there and make the stop.
03:45And Isaiah Simmons, who is trying to carve a position on this team after being a top-ten pick by Arizona out of Clemson a couple years ago.
03:55Green Bay is his third team.
03:58Clearly on the bubble.
03:59Incredible athlete.
04:00Unbelievable speed.
04:02Special teams is where he has starred so far.
04:05Yeah, and plays like that are going to do him a lot of good.
04:07He's had some really good in training camp.
04:10He's had some not-so-good in training camp.
04:13We talked about it now.
04:13This is his third stop, and he's a guy that you just can't help but admire his physical stature, his speed, his length.
04:22But he's got to be more consistent on the defensive side in order to make this team.
04:26Valdez Scantling grabs the pass downfield by Jalen Milrow, who is right on the money on the pass play.
04:33And they're down to the Green Bay 37.
04:35It's a pickup of 20 through the air and a first down for Seattle, and the former Packer receiver gets the first.
04:43Packer fans that remember MVS know he is a speedster, and he can get across the middle of that field in a hurry.
04:50He did so in that play.
04:52Milrow, good throw.
04:53Part of a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs.
04:57The fullback is in.
04:59This will be a staple in this offense.
05:01That is Brady Russell, who's back there right there with a penalty on the Seattle O.
05:05Full start.
05:07Offense.
05:08Number 65.
05:10Five-yard penalty.
05:11First down.
05:12Let's check in with Ashley Washburn on the sideline.
05:15Hey, Kevin, coming up on the Software 1 Halftime Report, we've seen how great of a training camp
05:19Brady came in.
05:19It's just pieced together.
05:20But on a rest day this week, we want to see how great he is as an official.
05:24It's the second halftime, but you don't want to miss Kevin.
05:28Last, thank you so much.
05:29No-Row is going to take every snap, we're told, a quarterback.
05:35They've signed Sam Darnold, who's looked good in camp and is ready to go after a 14-3 season
05:41last year with the Vikings.
05:42First and 15 incomplete.
05:45And trying to go across the middle and looking for the tight end, Marshall Lang out of Northwestern
05:50in the Big Ten.
05:52Incomplete pass.
05:53Second down and 15.
05:54It was an incomplete pass, but he was well covered on that play.
05:58And you can see Tyron Hopper underneath.
06:02Jonathan Baldwin over top.
06:04Not a whole lot of space there to put that football.
06:06Sometimes it's good to throw it into the dirt and play another play.
06:13Baldwin is back at the safety.
06:15Bo Melton, who is making the transition from receiver defensive back, is now out.
06:21Second down, 15.
06:24Milrow looking to set it up and does at the screen pass.
06:27And it's caught right there by Tyus out of Ohio.
06:30Gain of two on the play.
06:32They're down to the Green Bay 40.
06:34Today's down and distance brought to you by Potawatomi Casino Hotel.
06:38Your win is waiting.
06:40And right on cue, Isaiah Simmons once again.
06:43Read, recognize, and react.
06:45And he did all three of those things very quickly.
06:48That's part of the good that he brings.
06:50When he's playing fast, he's playing well.
06:53And he even talked to the reporters this week and said he doesn't feel like this has been his best camp.
06:57He's been thinking too much.
06:58It's time to turn the brain off a little bit and just react to him.
07:01Packer fans on that defensive line.
07:03Watch 91 Princeton, 93 Stackhouse.
07:06Teammates at Georgia trying to make the team.
07:09Third down, 13.
07:11And a whistle.
07:13And a timeout.
07:14Green Bay, their final timeout.
07:15Green Bay.
07:17Their third.
07:18It's a 32nd timeout.
07:19With two and a half to go in the half.
07:22Kevin, you were talking about those young defensive linemen.
07:24And Jeff Halfley thinks that the interior defensive line is the deepest position that they have here.
07:31He recognizes Kenny Clark back and healthy this year.
07:35Looking like the old Kenny Clark and Devontae Wyatt.
07:39They got the one and two spots down.
07:40Then you got Carl Brooks, Colby Wooden, Brinson, Stackhouse.
07:44They might keep six interior defensive linemen that can help them in goal line and short yardage packages.
07:50It's going to be very, very important.
07:53Cox is still out there for Green Bay.
07:55Jeff also talked to us about the pass rush, which they were trying to improve.
08:01He says, I still don't know if it's better.
08:03It feels like it's improved.
08:05But we'll find out.
08:07Quick enough.
08:08Third down, 13.
08:09Big hole up the middle.
08:11And the run shy of the first down to the 29.
08:14It was Damian Martinez who picks up 11 on the play.
08:19Fourth down for Seattle.
08:21Old school guard trap right there on that one.
08:25Busts for a big one.
08:26Another in hurry up.
08:28Fourth and two.
08:29Trying to get it outside the two-minute warning.
08:33And does not.
08:34That's where we are.
08:36Two turnovers by Seattle.
08:38Green Bay is cashed in on both getting 10 points on the two turnovers.
08:43Two different quarterbacks have thrown short touchdown passes for Green Bay.
08:47Two-minute warning.
08:4817-0 Packers on the Packer Television Network.
08:52And you get a glimpse of the Titletown district there on the bottom of the screen.
08:57Going two, three blocks.
08:59Adjacent to Lambeau Field is Sam Darnold.
09:08And he looked good in the joint practice, John, you thought, on Thursday.
09:14Yeah.
09:14Timing with the play action.
09:16Timing with the wide receivers and putting the ball on the money.
09:19I saw a lot of Sam Darnold last year in a Vikings uniform playing well against his Packers team.
09:25And he did so for the most part the other day at practice.
09:27Martinez the bat.
09:29Millrell fourth and two.
09:30Seattle three timeouts.
09:33Scoreless so far.
09:34Pressure right there.
09:35Brinson cutting.
09:36Down he goes.
09:37Well played by Green Bay.
09:39Again, with Tyron Hopper right there, who's put on more weight and making more plays in this preseason.
09:47He's been terrific.
09:48The Packers hold him again.
09:50And on downs, it goes to Green Bay.
09:52Tyron Hopper stopped the play.
09:53But look at the hustle out of Brenton Cox here to chase this thing down.
09:57Nowhere to cut back inside for Jalen Milrow.
10:00And nowhere to throw the football on the outside.
10:02You can see sticky coverage right there out of the Packers secondary.
10:05All around.
10:07Nice play.
10:09Belton remains the right tackle.
10:11The rookie.
10:13Telford is over at the left side.
10:17El Gersma the back.
10:19And Amar Johnson.
10:21Rookie from South Dakota State is back there.
10:25On first and ten.
10:26High and uncatchable for Hardman.
10:29Second down and ten.
10:30Packers out of timeouts.
10:33That one just completely slipped out of his hand.
10:36Looked like he didn't even have a grip on the football.
10:38It was wobbling.
10:38No spiral to it.
10:40Look at that thing.
10:41Just ended up as an incompletion.
10:44Now Gersma was drafted in the Canadian Football League by Winnipeg in the second round.
10:50He's making a go here in the NFL.
10:53And he's given the Packer coaches offensively a lot to think about.
10:57Second down and ten.
11:00End of the end.
11:02Top of the block.
11:03Going deep.
11:04His receiver at a moment of daylight.
11:06That was Shepard in the coverage by a couple including D'Anthony Bell.
11:11Who is a veteran playing over three years with the Cleveland Browns.
11:17Incomplete.
11:20Shepard slowed down for just a tick as he went to the inside there.
11:23And that just that little bit of hesitation kept him from being able to get to that football.
11:29Marjohn's in the back.
11:33He had that 39-yard touchdown run against the Jets.
11:37In the first preseason game.
11:39Third down and ten.
11:40Now Gersma.
11:42Tugman.
11:44And drilled almost immediately upon the catch.
11:47Grabbing him right there was to Marion Williams.
11:50Gain of three.
11:51Fourth and seven.
11:53And let's see what the Packers do.
11:57Seahawks have stopped the clock.
11:59Punting unit comes out for Green Bay.
12:00You know I know we talked John about getting to 53.
12:10But that practice squad when you see the attrition of a regular season.
12:14That practice squad becomes about as important as the 53.
12:18It does.
12:18And for the most part these guys get bumped up.
12:20They get elevated.
12:22When there's injuries if you don't want to send guys down to IR.
12:24You can elevate a practice squad player to play for them.
12:27And the Packers have done that regularly throughout the last several years.
12:31And it's one of those things.
12:33You like a lot of your players.
12:35You like a lot of your team.
12:36And you've built so much during this training camp.
12:39You want to keep as many guys as you possibly can.
12:41And yet there's people from around the league watching your film as well.
12:44Looking at your players to see if they could be added to their roster.
12:49Player down.
12:50In fact two are down for Seattle.
12:53And quickly the staff, the medical staff for both teams racing.
13:00Coming out onto the field with the collision.
13:04Bobo was back there.
13:07Is that Tyler Hall 33?
13:10Is that who I'm seeing?
13:11Yeah.
13:11Bobo coming in for the short kick.
13:14Running up for the short kick.
13:16It was not pretty.
13:17Going down and going low.
13:19And they say the ball was jarred free.
13:24He wanted the fair catch.
13:26Oof.
13:29That's a bad shot for both of those players.
13:31It is.
13:33One to the leg.
13:33One to the neck.
13:34And the Packers watching the medical staff, training staff of the Seahawks on the field right now.
13:48And ready to help if that's called upon.
13:52With a lot of concern as you can see.
13:55Bobo is a veteran.
14:05He had two touchdown receptions last week against Kansas City.
14:10So as they take a look at the injured Seahawks.
14:13And two of them are down.
14:16We are going to step aside here from Lambeau.
14:20In Green Bay.
14:22With the Packers leading 17-0.
14:28This is both the down Seahawks players are up.
14:33Bobo went right to the locker room.
14:36The other player was helped off favoring a leg.
14:40And that was Tyler Hall.
14:42Bobo is a pretty important player for what is going to be a new receiving core.
14:47Good special teamer.
14:49Good blocker.
14:50With a look at Mike McDonald who came as a defensive coach from Baltimore.
14:57There was a.
14:58As we get now back to game action.
15:00There was a muff.
15:01The ball was loose and recovered by Green Bay.
15:04At the Seattle.
15:0624-yard line.
15:08So the Packers have it.
15:09Right here.
15:10Quarterback is Clifford.
15:23With the running back Amar Johnson.
15:26First and ten.
15:27No timeouts.
15:27Green Bay.
15:28Johnson the call.
15:29Belton the block.
15:31And initially hit and brought down by Jamie Sheriff.
15:35A second year player out of South Alabama.
15:38Gain of two.
15:39Second down.
15:40Again, Green Bay no timeout.
15:41So that's why they got the hurry up.
15:44From the 22.
15:46Second down and eight.
15:50Clifford to the air.
15:52On the move.
15:53Chasing the play by Sheriff.
15:54And runs out of bounds.
15:55Has the first down for Green Bay.
15:58To the 12 of Seattle.
15:59Good looking run.
16:00And he picks up ten.
16:02Number 68.
16:03Butterfly.
16:04And a hold.
16:05Second down.
16:06That was on.
16:07Lucita Smith.
16:08The center.
16:10Damn.
16:11Lucita Smith.
16:11He was in great position.
16:13I thought so too.
16:16Right here.
16:17You can see him at the center position.
16:21Boy.
16:22I don't know.
16:23That's the first penalty against the Packers today.
16:25And that's why they've had a lot of success.
16:28You've talked about that.
16:29To exhaustion this preseason.
16:31Is that the penalties were really holding the offense back for the vast majority of these
16:35preseason games.
16:36Didn't have any until this drive.
16:38And you can see what it did.
16:39A big game by Clifford.
16:41Shut down.
16:41Now you're backwards.
16:42So now back to the 32 with the penalty in tow.
16:47Shocking down.
16:4818.
16:49And Clifford.
16:50Dee Benning complete at the 5 for Hardman.
16:54Coverage on the play in the secondary by Jarek Reed.
16:58He has had Reed in the secondary.
17:00The best defensive grade through two games for this Seahawk defense.
17:05McCall Hardman wants a flag there.
17:09But their feet just get tangled up as Reed's coming in to make the play on the football.
17:17Hardman is on the bubble.
17:18There's been some talk that if he does not make it, maybe Keyshawn Nixon will go back
17:23to returning.
17:24Keyshawn Nixon is taking the primary snaps for the punt returner and kick returner this
17:29week of practice.
17:30Third and 18.
17:31You see the flag.
17:33Hence Green Bay.
17:33False start.
17:38Offense.
17:39Number 71.
17:41Five-yard penalty.
17:42Third down.
17:43That's on Anthony Belton.
17:46Remember Anthony Belton against Indianapolis.
17:48Matt does.
17:49Matt remembers.
17:50Yeah, he does.
17:51He had five penalties in the second quarter last week in Indy.
17:54And Matt let him know about it all the way into the locker room.
17:56Yes, he did.
17:57He's wandering to himself down there on the sideline.
17:59Do I got to talk to this big fellow again?
18:00He's not happy with the penalties.
18:02Great start to this first half.
18:05Bad finish here by the offense.
18:07Replays today, by the way, presented by UW Credit Union.
18:12Mark Johnson is back there.
18:14The call on third and 23.
18:17Kind of wiggle free.
18:19Not a whole lot of room.
18:20And making the stop was Okada.
18:24Their second.
18:25He's working with the second team defense.
18:27He's out of Montana State.
18:29Another timeout taken by Seattle.
18:31One remaining for them.
18:33Fourth and 19 for Green Bay.
18:34John, just as you step back, and we'll talk more about this in the second half.
18:44This is a Packer telecast.
18:46And so, we'll extend it to that conversation.
18:49You're just, your overall thoughts on the feel of this camp, as opposed to, say, the last two or three that you've been in.
18:55Well, it went in the blink of an eye, and there was a lot of excitement for the joint practices and everything.
19:00But Jordan Love, with the hand injury from preseason game one, really put a damper on what was already a hindered roster with injuries.
19:09And because of that, this offense hasn't had a whole lot of time with the ones.
19:13They haven't had a whole lot of opportunities to create that cohesiveness.
19:17And, you know, it's a big unknown that the offense coming out of this training camp.
19:21McManus from 52.
19:23Perfect.
19:24So, today, he's kicked field goals of 48 and 52 yards.
19:30He's got two extra points.
19:33McManus is having a camp for the ages.
19:36He's something like 71 for 75 with practice, joint practice, and game action this summer.
19:46Not bad.
19:46Kevin, do you remember the name of the kicker that kicked the 70-yard kick in the preseason game a few weeks ago?
19:52Yes.
19:52I don't.
19:53Okay.
19:53I don't either.
19:55But you're my guy.
19:56Was it Ryker?
19:57Listen, if it would have been Australian football, you would have known his name.
20:00That's the thing.
20:01However, McManus wanted to see if he could duplicate that.
20:05And at one of the practices, he did.
20:06He kicked a 70-yard field goal.
20:07A 70-yard field goal.
20:08Bounced off the crossbar and went in.
20:10No kidding.
20:10So, McManus still has that big old leg.
20:13So, Green Bay, and they got that with a muff.
20:18They scored on two previous turnovers by Seattle.
20:23So, in essence, three turnovers by the Seahawks.
20:26So, the two officially fumbles.
20:29And Green Bay is on top 20 to nothing after winning last week in a come-from-behind ring at Indianapolis.
20:39And this will be left in the end zone on the kickoff and out to the 35, which is different.
20:45Last year it was the 30.
20:47This year the 35 and the touchback in the end zone.
20:49And our stats people have finally chimed in.
20:52Cam Little was the kicker for that.
20:54Excuse me.
20:55I said, right, it's a wrong name.
20:57My mistake.
20:59By the way, I did see where Little, after he kicked that field goal, sent the ball and the jersey to Canton.
21:06They wanted, even though it was a preseason game.
21:10Good for him.
21:11I totally agree.
21:12Little was in Canton.
21:13Yeah.
21:16So, Milrow remains the quarterback for the Seahawks.
21:19They've got one timeout.
21:21Damian Martinez, the rookie out of Miami, is in the backfield first and ten.
21:26He's going deep and he's got it.
21:27And it's incomplete.
21:28He's looking for Cody White out of Michigan State.
21:31Incomplete pass.
21:32And he had him and it was incomplete for the six-year veteran White, second and ten.
21:38Yeah, and you can see the big-time arm that Milrow has there.
21:41Through that one, he really liked it.
21:43I think that got caught in the jet stream here at Lambeau.
21:46It does get windier here, Kevin, than at most places.
21:49And sometimes when you throw those deep balls, they can carry like that.
21:52And that's what it looked like there.
21:53Milrow was doing that little walk-off fadeaway.
21:55He thought he made the three, but just went a little deep on him.
21:59I've got a statistic here on Milrow that I've got to tell you
22:02because I've never seen this before.
22:04Second down and ten.
22:06High school area in Houston.
22:09There's a short pass underneath.
22:11Got by Martinez.
22:13His hand size grew from eight and three quarters to nine and three eighths.
22:20Now, how did that happen?
22:22You think about that.
22:23Third and four.
22:24Milrow back.
22:25Here comes the pressure.
22:26Oh, they couldn't get him that time with Esther being chased on the play by Mosby and out of bounds.
22:32He throws it incomplete.
22:35Fourth and four.
22:36Great hustle there out of Mosby.
22:39Has started losing his footing multiple times.
22:43But you can see the pressure here on the inside.
22:47Once again, who was that?
22:49Esther was up the middle.
22:50It's Esther up the middle, and then you see Mosby on the outside just rumbling, fumbling, stumbling,
22:55trying to get to that quarterback.
22:58You love to see it.
22:59Jeff Halfley preaches time in, time out.
23:01You cannot coach hustle.
23:03And energy and effort is non-negotiable.
23:08You definitely have seen that out of the Packers' defense this preseason.
23:11Great play there by the Packers' defensive line.
23:13Here's the punt by Michael Dixon.
23:18With just seconds remaining in the first half.
23:21It's taken at the eight.
23:23And McCole Hartman looking for some kind of space.
23:26Nothing there.
23:27Three seconds on the clock.
23:28Our guess is the Packers will sit on it and we'll get to halftime.
23:33Is Hartman going to make this team?
23:36Kevin, you start looking at the back end of the wide receiver room and you have a lot of questions.
23:41Do you want to carry Hartman as the sixth because of his kick return and punt return capabilities?
23:46Right?
23:47He hasn't really had that fumble in the first game.
23:50He had a bad fair catch in the first game.
23:52Right there he had an opportunity to make his return.
23:54Not so great blocking in front of him.
23:56So you wonder, do we keep him because he has these attributes or do we keep a guy like Malik Heath
24:01that we know can block and execute in this offense?
24:05And then if you talk about Cornelius Johnson and some of these other guys that have come up and showed out,
24:09while a lot of these veteran receivers have not been available for practices.
24:13So your guess is as good as mine.
24:16Two turnovers by Seattle and a muff punt.
24:20Green Bay, two short touchdown passes by two different quarterbacks.
24:2420-0 Packers at halftime.
24:26Our first half highlights and stats are presented by Cousins Subs.
24:34John, you've looked at the highlights.
24:37You've edited them.
24:39You've talked about miscues.
24:41And let's go right to your work.
24:42Yeah, let's start with a little bit of bad because there wasn't a whole lot of bad.
24:45But this first interception was so good by Seattle, we couldn't believe it with our own eyes.
24:50Add that with a couple penalties at the end of the first half for the offense.
24:55Those are the miscues.
24:56But here's the good now.
24:57Malik Willis to Romeo Dobbs on that slant pass early in the ballgame.
25:03Starts to break the scoring open.
25:05And then El-Gurzma on the crossing route to Will Shepard.
25:09Finishes that thing off and finishes in the stands with a Lambeau leap.
25:15Nice jump there, young fella.
25:16And on the ground again, got going with Wilson.
25:20On the ground with Wilson.
25:21You can see some tough runs here by him.
25:24Sets this one up on the outside.
25:25Makes a nice cut on the secondary player.
25:28All around good half by the offense.
25:31Good feel there, mostly because they eliminated the miscues.
25:34And then the defense, Kevin.
25:36Oh, boy, were they getting after Milrow in this thing.
25:39You talk about pressure by Brenton Cox.
25:41Pressure by Tyron Hopper.
25:44Kaysley and Agbari getting in there.
25:45Getting a strip.
25:46Thought he had a touchdown.
25:47And then this is my favorite part.
25:49The goal line stand that they had there in the first half.
25:53A nice stop of the run there.
25:55One big run by Jarkadia Wright.
25:58By Jarkadia Wright in the first half by the Seattle Seahawks.
26:01But other than that, this defense up to the task against a good rush offense.
26:04And what about Green Bay's defense on third down, Seattle 0 of 6.
26:11And Seattle on fourth down, 0 for 3.
26:14So, to rehash what we talked about a little bit while ago.
26:19And we'll take a look at some of the numbers.
26:26Countdown to 53 comes up on Tuesday.
26:2917-man practice squad shortly thereafter.
26:32We will check back in on the sideline when we come back to Lambeau.
26:38After one half, 20-0.
26:39Today's interview with Coach Matt LaFleur is sponsored by Construction Business Group.
26:45And Wisconsin Operating Engineers Local 139.
26:49Moments ago, Ashley caught up with the coach of Green Bay.
26:53Coach, a lot to like defensively in that half.
26:55But even more importantly, translating turnovers into points.
26:57What did you like that first half?
26:59Yeah, that's, I mean, we talked about playing complimentary football.
27:02And I thought we did that.
27:03Our guys are playing with a lot of energy and a lot of enthusiasm.
27:07We need to keep it up for four quarters.
27:09Two more quarters left of this preseason before you guys close that chapter.
27:12What would you like to see over these next 30 minutes?
27:14Yeah, same thing.
27:14Just I want to see our team play harder than their team.
27:17And I think we're doing that up to this point.
27:19But you've got to finish it.
27:20Thanks, Coach.
27:20Thanks.
27:217-0 is head coach of the Packers.
27:23Matt LaFleur almost got a smile out of him.
27:26That was pretty good.
27:27I think we lead 20-0, and you've gotten three turnovers.
27:31I think that gives you all you need to know about how he's feeling.
27:36Here's the kickoff.
27:38And they'll bring it out.
27:40And this will be the running back, Anthony Tyus.
27:44Who will careen off bodies and take it out to the 29-yard line.
27:48So, John, set up now what's going through these coaches' minds,
27:52the players' minds, as we get in for these final two quarters of preseason.
27:57So, we talked back into wide receiver, running back, linebacker, cornerback.
28:03There are spots to be had.
28:04There are a couple spots to be had still.
28:06Will somebody reach out and grab a job and not win it by default?
28:11Because you don't really win jobs by default in the NFL.
28:14So, if you don't reach out and grab it, there's film out there on every team around the league.
28:20So, if you can better your team with a trade, with a waiver claim, if you can add to your practice squad,
28:26players available on other teams, you will go out and do that.
28:30And then, on the flip side here, these players that are on this field right now,
28:34they know other teams are looking at this film that they could go to if they don't make this team another team to improve that roster.
28:41That sets up our second half as Martinez was tackled by Haddon.
28:46Gain of nine.
28:48On the check down, it'll be second down.
28:51Make it eight.
28:52Second down and two.
28:54Martinez again from Jalen Millbrook.
28:57And stuffed right there by Jalen Johnson.
29:00Rookie free agent out of Kentucky.
29:0236-yard line.
29:03They lose a yard.
29:04It'll be third and three on the first possession of the second half for the Seahawks.
29:09Yeah, and what I, finishing up and wrapping up the first half, what I liked about that was,
29:14the starters came out here, or a majority of the starters came out here.
29:17They got their work done.
29:18They got out.
29:19They got that good taste in their mouth.
29:20They can end their preseason.
29:22Then the reserves came in, and they didn't miss a beat.
29:24They kept up to the same type of rhythm, the same type of pass, and they, too, had success.
29:29And now, you can try and put together four quarters, something they haven't done yet in the preseason.
29:33In the distro.
29:35Oh, what a play, but a good fake by Millro is going to get the first down.
29:40Boy, they stuffed it in the backfield, but Millro, and that is exactly what he does.
29:46He is a very deceptive runner after a four-year career at Alabama.
29:52On the play, picks up four on fourth and four.
29:57Or third and four, excuse me.
29:58People are going to think Deslin Alexander got faked out here.
30:00This is who he has on the read option.
30:02He has the running back.
30:03He's supposed to make that tackle behind the line of scrimmage.
30:05Now it's up to the second level to contain the quarterback.
30:09This is Martinez.
30:12Trying to cut.
30:14Stopped right there.
30:17And hit by a couple.
30:18And Isaiah Simmons, right now, probably number five in the linebacker rotation.
30:24No game.
30:25Second down and ten.
30:26Simmons firmly on the bubble.
30:28Yeah.
30:29Firmly on the bubble.
30:30Him and Christian Welch.
30:32Can they keep six linebackers?
30:34Maybe not.
30:35And if that's the case, is it Simmons?
30:38Is it Welch?
30:39I mean, we talk about what Welch has done, not just this preseason, but even last preseason.
30:44Very consistent.
30:45Very smart player.
30:47You know what you're getting with Christian Welch.
30:49But the upside of Simmons, it just, you can't help but admire it with the man because he's
30:54so big.
30:55He's so fast.
30:56He's so talented.
30:57But can you trust him in every situation?
31:00Kamal Haddon made a nice play on the wide receiver, intended receiver, Cody White.
31:06Third down ten for Jalen Milrow.
31:09He's looking into six defensive backs.
31:19A crumbling pocket being chased.
31:21Alexander is there trying to prevent him.
31:23Knocks him out of bounds.
31:24And Crawford defense does their job again.
31:28They needed the 50.
31:29And he was able to creep up to the 36.
31:33So they lose five.
31:35It's fourth and 15.
31:37Alexander with a nice play.
31:38A punting unit out there for Seattle.
31:42You know, in pressure and a quarterback, it's a two-way game.
31:45If you don't cover in the secondary, if you don't have that blanket, he can get rid of
31:49that football.
31:50And he has receivers available.
31:52That time, the secondary did a great job of sticking with the wide receivers so that Deslin
31:57Alexander could hustle his hair off and force that thing out of bounds.
32:00Dixon to punt.
32:02And this will be third caught by Will Shepard, who is back at the 15.
32:0749-yard punt.
32:09Packers are going to get it.
32:12And El Gersma, the Canadian quarterback, will be at the helm when we come back to Lambeau.
32:17Construction Business Group and Operating Engineers Local 139.
32:21And by Nicolet Law, the law firm winning for Wisconsin.
32:25And the Packers are winning today, 20-0.
32:31Defenses look great.
32:32They have forced three Seattle turnovers.
32:36Packers have got a couple of short touchdown passes.
32:38One by the guy in there right now, the rookie free agent, El Gersma.
32:44Taylor El Gersma with a first and ten.
32:47And here's a run outside.
32:50A bonaconda, who was waived by San Francisco.
32:54A third-year running back out of Pitt.
32:56Picks up three right there.
32:57With today's smile moment of the game, brought to you by Invisalign Clear Aligners.
33:05The official smile of the Green Bay Packers.
33:14Dan Shepard.
33:16Sometimes you've got to haul them out.
33:18You need to assist from the fans.
33:19And a quick hit in there by the Anthony Bell on Israel.
33:32A bonaconda.
33:33Gain of four.
33:34Third down and three with a look at Shepard.
33:38Played with Shadur Sanders at Colorado last year.
33:42You hear the term playing in front of the sticks.
33:45And so many penalties, so many unforced errors by the Packers in their first six quarters of the preseason.
33:53But now you see what it looks like playing ahead of the sticks in the run game.
33:57Set up a very manageable third and three here for your young quarterback.
34:01Anaconda is the running back.
34:05And El Gersma to the end.
34:07Lippia block at the guard.
34:09It goes outside.
34:10Caught by Julian Hicks.
34:11And he's got the first down.
34:12He skirts right by Connor O'Toole, the linebacker.
34:17And on third and three, he picks up five in Green Bay with a first down.
34:22A couple of nice moves there out of Julian Hicks after the catch.
34:25And you can kind of get a glimpse of El Gersma's big arm right there.
34:28Able to get it from inside the hashes all the way out to the sideline on a zip.
34:33So, I mean, that was a good throw out of him.
34:35But an even better play there out of Hicks to be able to make a couple Seahawks miss and get the first down.
34:40Brant Banks is the left tackle out of Rice.
34:43J.J. Lippie out of Northern Illinois is the left arm.
34:47Lasita Smith remains the center.
34:49First and ten.
34:50Abanaconda will take it near the 30-yard line.
34:54You see the game tackle on a gain of four.
34:57Just nudging his way by the Green Bay 30.
35:00Second down and six.
35:03And if it were up to Adam Stenevich, who's calling the plays, and it probably will be,
35:10they'll keep right to this game plan.
35:11Run, run, short third down.
35:14Run, run, short third down.
35:15And then eventually, one of these runs are going to break.
35:18One of these things, you're going to get a Seahawks defender guessing in the gap,
35:22or you're going to get a broken tackle, and that's when the big play comes.
35:25Trey Hill is the guard.
35:27He used to play for Cincinnati.
35:29And Anthony Belton, the rookie, is the right tackle.
35:31Al-Gurzma, messy pocket, hits the deck.
35:35Brought down right there, 28-yard line.
35:38Sacked on the play, grabbed by Jared Ivey.
35:40He is 6'6".
35:42He was projected, Ivey was, as a fifth-round pick.
35:46He became a rookie free agent.
35:47Seahawks got him.
35:48They lose a couple there, third and eight for Green Bay.
35:52Yeah, Al-Gurzma lost half his wide receiver group on that one.
35:55They were out there blocking.
35:56Somebody missed a check.
35:57They thought it was a run play.
35:58They were out there blocking, not knowing why their defender wasn't trying to tackle a ball carrier
36:02before they realized it was actually a pass.
36:05This Seattle defense is a battle for the final safety spot.
36:08Coming down to Bell, Reed, or Kata.
36:10It's third and eight.
36:11Nice catch after a good looking throw.
36:14And it's grabbed out there by Julian Hicks.
36:17He's had a good camp.
36:18He's out of Albany.
36:20Picks up six on third and eight.
36:21Fourth and two.
36:22They bring the punting in and out.
36:23I know it didn't get the first down, but I just like the mechanics all around there.
36:29I agree.
36:30Al-Gurzma.
36:30Yep.
36:31At the top of the drop, steps into the throw, fires one.
36:34You got Julian Hicks making a hands catch on that one.
36:38So many times in the preseason games, you see guys try and catch it with their body.
36:41Plucks it out of the air.
36:43Almost gets the first down.
36:44Demerian Williams is back.
36:46And the punt by Whelan.
36:51He's had a good camp.
36:53At the five.
36:54Here he goes.
36:55It wins and then brought down.
36:58Redwell Alexander was down there and also a nice hit on the play.
37:04By that special teams group.
37:07Running back Amar Johnson down there and a big hit by Malik Heath.
37:11They covered it well.
37:12Great hang.
37:13Good tackle.
37:1462-yard punt.
37:16Well, in a couple weeks, the Lions will be here on opening day of opening weekend in the NFL.
37:27That's a 325 kickoff at Lambeau.
37:31Lions and Packers.
37:33What a way to start the season.
37:35And I was intrigued by what you said about Matt LaFleur beginning a season.
37:40First time he's had a home opener.
37:42Never has had a home opener as the Packers head coach.
37:45And this place is going to be electric for that thing.
37:49I cannot wait for it.
37:51Lambeau afternoon games in September are the best.
37:54Ja'Cardier Wright is the back.
37:56Back for Jalen Milrow going deep and incomplete.
37:58He was going down the sideline and looking for Nick Kolarup, who's out of Minnesota.
38:06Now, second down and 10.
38:10Let's go downstairs to Ashley Washburn.
38:13Hey, Kevin, I'm here with QB1 Jordan Love.
38:15Jordan, first and foremost, coming off of Thursday's joint practice.
38:18How's the thumb feeling?
38:19And what's the timeline to being back at 100%?
38:21No, it's feeling good.
38:22And week one, we're going to be good.
38:24Be rolling and get going.
38:27Week one line.
38:27Something to look forward to.
38:28Now, injuries, unfortunately, have been a big part of this training camp between the offensive
38:32line receivers.
38:33Has that been difficult, building chemistry with players out like that?
38:37Yeah, I think any time dealing with injuries, especially during training camp when that's
38:40the bulk of our practices and trying to get ready for the season, it's definitely tough.
38:45But that's part of football.
38:47Injuries happen.
38:48Guys get banged up.
38:49And it's always that next man up mentality.
38:51But I think with all of our injuries, I think we're going to get a lot of guys back for week
38:55one, which is exactly what we're looking for.
38:57Now, despite the injuries that you guys have had in that receiving court, it's allowed
39:00you and Matthew Goldman to have really meaningful reps.
39:03What has impressed you most of him coming in here as a rookie?
39:06No, I think he's done a lot of really good things.
39:09And like you said, I think the injuries has helped him be able to get as many reps as he...
39:13Oh!
39:17Don't worry, everyone.
39:18Jordan Love is okay on that camera.
39:19Not so much.
39:22Oh, my God.
39:24That is right.
39:25You lose number 10.
39:26We got a story.
39:30The good news is...
39:31The good news is...
39:33Kamal Haddon took out the cameraman.
39:35Yes.
39:35Did not take out Jordan Love.
39:38So, Jordan Love is safe.
39:39He's on the sideline.
39:40Is Ashley okay?
39:41Is Ashley...
39:41Ashley, are you okay down there?
39:43Yeah, we're good.
39:43I actually have a couple more questions for Jordan Love if you want to hear him.
39:46There is no camera, though, at the moment.
39:48Hold on.
39:48We're going to do a punt.
39:51We're going to take a break, and then we'll go back down to you.
39:55Dixon will punt.
39:56Fair caught by Green Bay.
39:59Deep back man.
40:00Will Shepard.
40:0147-yard punt.
40:02We step aside.
40:03Welcome back to Lambeau Field.
40:09Just want to make sure everyone knows at home that everyone is okay.
40:12QB1 is okay.
40:14Jordan, going back to just the offense, Luke Musgrave, Tucker Craft have been putting together
40:17a really solid camp.
40:18How much does that enhance in offense, being able to have a one-two punch like that?
40:22Oh, I mean, it takes us to another level.
40:24You know, having two tight ends that can be on the field at the same time, or you can
40:27interchange them.
40:28And they've both been doing some really good things, and, you know, I'm excited to see
40:32exactly how we can just incorporate them even more this season.
40:35And last question, because I know you want to be able to watch this offense on the field
40:38right now, but going up against this defense every day in camp, just what have you, how
40:42have you seen this unit take a step under Jeff Halfley in year two?
40:46Sorry, say that again.
40:47Being able to go up against this defense every day, how have you seen this group take a step
40:50in year two under Jeff Halfley?
40:52Oh, I mean, I think obviously last year was them trying to figure out the defense and
40:55obviously learn a lot of things, and you go through a whole season and a whole offseason
40:59of trying to revamp and figure out what worked and what didn't work, and I think they've
41:03tightened up a lot of different things, and they're evolving their pressures and different
41:07things, so obviously it's year two in that defense, so I think guys are going to be more
41:11comfortable and be able to react to what the offense is doing a lot faster, so I think
41:16they're going to be flying around and be a very tough defense for offense to go against.
41:19It's going to be fun.
41:20Jordan, well, we appreciate you sticking around, and good luck this fall.
41:22Thanks, Jordan.
41:24Jordan Love, who wears number 10 because his dad wore number 10 when he played high school
41:29football.
41:30That 22-yard run by Amar Johnson knocked away because the tight end was holding.
41:35First and 20.
41:37Oh, from behind.
41:38Look at the flags.
41:39And down goes the quarterback, Sean Clifford, with the sack right there at least now for
41:44Jamie Sheriff out of South Alabama.
41:47Losing 10.
41:49Flags on the field.
41:51Offense.
41:52Number 46.
41:53That penalty declined.
41:55The result of the play.
41:56Second down.
41:57I'm a running back, Johnson.
41:58I'm really glad that Ashley was able to finish that interview in style in a good way because
42:06I was getting really nervous when that camera went in that it might be our last interview.
42:10Second down and 30.
42:19Jordan played in that game in Brazil last year.
42:21The Packers losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion.
42:25He does.
42:26Outside it goes.
42:27Hicks.
42:28And knocked out of bounds by De'Eric Jackson out of Kentucky.
42:34He's had a good camp, and he could be on that practice squad.
42:37There's Jordan Love.
42:39The surgery was to his non-throwing thumb.
42:44It was done in Los Angeles, and he was competing this week after the surgery done two weeks ago.
42:51He was competing in seven and sevens, and Matt LaFleur does not like seven-on-seven workouts.
42:56He does not.
42:56He does not.
42:57He wants everything to be team 11-on-11 periods, but that's the only way that you can work with
43:02Jordan Love because right now, after the surgery, he can't take a snap.
43:06He can't take a snap from the center for a few more days, and because of that, they've
43:10got to simulate a snap where, you know, somebody says, hi, and Jordan's standing back there
43:14with the football.
43:14So it's not really realistic, but it gets him to go through his progressions and be able
43:18to at least make some throws and try and get that timing and continuity with the wide
43:21receivers down.
43:22Had the MCL in Brazil last year, then hurt his elbow a little bit later on in the season.
43:29The MCL sprain in Brazil, and you were there watching every game from the sideline.
43:36That lingered a good part of the season, didn't it?
43:38It does.
43:38It does.
43:39And even when you get back to the point where you can play, you compensate in different
43:45areas for it.
43:46You don't want to run.
43:47It affected his ability to get out of the pocket, and all around, it was just plain
43:52catch-up for an entire season in which he gets a groin a little bit later in the season,
43:57so it never really got on track.
43:59We win with a 62-yard punt.
44:01Tackle made on Demerian Williams by the receiver Hicks of Green Bay, and we step us up.
44:09Green Bay, it's dipped under 70 degrees as the sun is working its way down, and heights
44:18are growing a little bit longer, right?
44:20We've got some nice fall weather in store here in Wisconsin, getting down in some parts
44:27of the state to the 40s.
44:29Today's replays are presented by Wisconsin Dental Association.
44:34You just saw 54 on your screen.
44:36Christian Welch.
44:38Linebacker always seems to be near the ball.
44:40Against Jalen Milrow after the Packers punted first and 10.
44:46Hand-off here, Anthony Titus.
44:48And he's out near the 30-yard line, gain of six, second down and four.
44:54So the Seahawks traded their quarterback, Geno Smith, to the Raiders.
45:00They drafted Milrow, and they signed Sam Darnold.
45:05And they also got, as an unrestricted free agent, Drew.
