Man charged with wife’s murder after house fire north of Toowoomba

A Queensland man charged in connection with a domestic violence related death on Queensland’s darling downs has been remanded in custody after a brief court hearing.

00:00The body of mother of two, Louise Hunt, was found in a burnt-out home at a rural property at GM north of Toowoomba yesterday morning.

00:0945-year-old Cameron Robert Hunt was arrested at Redcliffe north of Brisbane yesterday afternoon

00:14and brought back to Toowoomba to face charges including murder.

00:17Mr Hunt did not appear before the magistrate's court today and was remanded in custody.

00:21He has been charged with murder, domestic violence and arson.

00:24Neighbours say they're shocked by the events and it's a gut-wrenching loss for the small community.

00:34What we've seen in our region is a senseless, uncomprehendable act that's taken place

00:41and the loss of a beautiful woman, Louise, and the tragedy that's unfolded is something that we are all struggling with.
