Man charged with murder of 58-year-old woman in Coffs Harbour

A man has been charged with the murder of a woman after an alleged domestic violence incident on the New South Wales mid-north coast.

00:08Police were called to the caravan park last Wednesday following a Concern for Welfare

00:13Officers say the 58-year-old woman was discovered with facial injuries and taken to Coffs Harbour

00:18Hospital for treatment.

00:19Police then began an investigation to track down the 30-year-old, who police were told

00:23was at the area at the time, but then later left.

00:26Four days later, Queensland Police tracked down the 30-year-old man at the Logan suburb

00:31of Park Ridge on Sunday.

00:33Police then successfully applied at Brisbane's Magistrates Court to have Mr Mills extradited

00:38to New South Wales, but that same day, police confirmed the 58-year-old woman died in hospital

00:43as a result of her injuries.

00:45Mr Mills was then charged with murder, along with three other domestic violence offences

00:49at a Tweedheads police station, and then was denied bail at Tweedheads local court.

00:54He is expected to return to court in December.
