00:02Emergency services were called to this property here on Rockvale Road in Armidale at about 2.15
00:07this morning with reports of an alleged stabbing. On arrival they found a 48-year-old woman suffering
00:12multiple stab wounds. Paramedics did attend the scene and attempted to treat her but she did die.
00:17A 53-year-old man now identified as Vincent Blair was arrested at the scene and has since
00:22been charged with murder. Police telling us today the man and woman were known to each other and
00:26live together in a de facto relationship. They have confirmed this investigation will be treated
00:31as a case of domestic violence. Police addressed the media today confirming they have identified
00:36the woman and made contact with her family. Obviously this is devastating for the family
00:41and we will continue to support the family and the community around this incident. Look these
00:46scenes are obviously quite tragic for emergency service to attend. As you can imagine based
00:51on the circumstances what that would be like so yeah it's not a nice job to go to.
00:56Police remain on the scene and Mr Blair has appeared before the court today. He did
01:01not apply for bail and the matter will return to court later this year.
