00:01A man who strangled and stabbed his wife at their home in Oldbury has been convicted of her murder.
00:07Harminder Matu attacked 46-year-old Paramjit Kaur, also known as Soni, on Swan Crescent
00:13at about 11 o'clock on the night of 30 March 2025.
00:18He went to West Bromwich Police Station the following morning and told officers at the station that he had killed
00:25her.
00:25During the trial, the 51-year-old denied murder and claimed he was acting in self-defence.
00:31But police said a post-mortem clearly showed she died from pressure to the neck.
00:36Officers also said she had started divorce proceedings before the attack.
00:40He's due to be sentenced at a later date.
