00:00On Sunday evening, 65-year-old Michael Ram and his wife, 57-year-old Sunita Ram, were
00:07out liming at a bar in the Williamsville area, something they often did.
00:13But when they got home, an argument began whilst they were in the living room in the
00:17presence of their two adult children.
00:20According to police reports, the husband accused the wife of being unfaithful and walked off
00:24to the bedroom, returning minutes later with his licensed shotgun in hand.
00:30He then took aim at his wife, shooting her to the face as their children ran out of the
00:36home fearing for their own lives.
00:38Moments later, another gunshot was heard.
00:41Both husband and wife were later found dead with gunshot wounds to the head in the living
00:46room of their Piparo Junction Road home.
00:49Residents in the community say the couple, but more so the man, was known to consume
00:54alcohol frequently and had a threatening nature.
00:57But the news of Sunday's murder-suicide came as an absolute shock, which left many shaken.
01:03Speaking off camera, a relative of the woman said Sunita was a nice, helpful person who
01:09was encouraged in the past to leave her husband over his behaviour when he drank, which they
01:15say got worse after his retirement.
