One man who took part in the Tobago Cycling Classic and then the Cycling On The Avenue was former T&T rider Emile Abraham.

Abraham left these shores earlier today, but TV6's Vinod Narwani was able to have a one-on-one interview with him at the Piarco International Airport just before his departure.

The former national cyclist will continue to race and even work with youngsters back in the US where he resides.

00:00Emil, I know you took part in the Tobago International Cycling Classic and also
00:04cycling on the Avenue. Results may not have exactly gone your way, but how good
00:09was it for you still? It was still a great tour. I still finished, completed
00:14all the stages and pretty much did my part on the team. The team had a great
00:20performance. I may not have provided the type of results that people may have
00:27wanted to see, but it's not always about the individual. It's a team sport and
00:32it's what the team gets at the end of the day and we did accomplish. Not
00:39the best results that we would have hoped for, like winning the Tour of Tobago
00:43and so forth, but we did get some good results and we're kind of happy with that.
00:48Tell us a little bit more about your team. How was it like working with your
00:51colleagues? Team Pharmaco is always a very good, cohesive team.
00:59We had riders from UK, US, Akhil Campbell from Trinidad and
01:08it was a good, cohesive team that I think worked well together.
01:13Like I said, Team Pharmaco finished third overall and best team
01:18prize. That's a great accomplishment that we were the best
01:23all-round team. We'll come back again next year and look forward to
01:322025. With regards to yourself, what are you aiming to do now as you head back to
01:37the United States? That's a good question. I'm losing one of my
01:43sponsors up in the US, so I'm not too sure where the team is going to be
01:49heading and coming into 2025. I'm gonna keep pushing through and
01:55everything happens for a reason and maybe there's something better
01:59in the line down the road. I'm gonna keep riding, keep coaching, keep
02:06trying to push for the team and so forth. But right now, to say what
02:122025 looks like team-wise for me, I'm not a hundred percent sure, but something's
02:18gonna turn up. What does Emil Abraham have in store in the future?
02:24Like I said, I really need to see what the team is. I'm gonna keep
02:29pressing on and keep riding my bike. I really enjoy the sport. I really enjoy
02:34coming home and racing, the travels, everything that comes
02:42around sport, teaching the youth, guiding other riders to be able to ride at
02:49the level that my experience has provided me to be able to pass on to
02:54other riders. Those things fulfill me. When I can help someone
03:00get a result, it's fulfilling and that keeps the drive for me.
03:05Cheers, all the best. Thank you.
