00:00My senior superintendent, Roger Alexander, turned UNC candidate, says he only has affection for his detractors,
00:08speaking to members of the media during a walkabout in communities of Mango Road in Tunapuna yesterday afternoon.
00:17Alexander says his years of experience as a police officer provided him with keen insight into the needs of the people,
00:24positioning him to serve the constituency well.
00:28I would consider a street commissioner long before. You know that.
00:33I meet and greet with people just like I'm doing here. This is nothing new to me, you know.
00:37So when you know the needs and wants of the people, it is easy to treat with it.
00:42But if you don't know because you don't care, but you only care once in every five years,
00:48then you have to rush and come and do things when things could have been done day after day after day.
00:53So my thing is to bring that new type of politics to the game.
00:58I'm not about spitting out politics and Alexander this and Alexander that.
01:02Why are you talking about Alexander this and Alexander that?
01:09What is more concerning to you?
01:12The needs of the people.
01:15He says he intends to make Tunapuna a model constituency using smart technology to improve crime-fighting strategies.
01:22Alexander says his decision to join the political arena was brought on by a shared vision
01:28between him and UNC political leader Kamala Prasad Bisesa.
01:33I listened to a leader, Kamala Prasad Bisesa, and her vision, the truth of the matter,
01:40aligned with what I want to do.
01:43So I moved in that direction and I chose her as my leader.
