Brian Lara is as busy as a bee.

That's because he's been engaged with book signings across the country, following the latest publication, 'Lara, The England Chronicles.'

Just yesterday, he went back to Harvard Club which was just the beginning.

Having retired from international cricket nearly two decades ago, Lara's aim is to give back to the club.

00:00This was the historic return of Brian Charles Lara to the Harvard Club.
00:05Just recently, a book launch invitation on the batting legend took place at his home,
00:09the name being Lara, The England Chronicles.
00:11Thereafter, book signings took place at the Queen's Park Oval and the Brian Lara Cricket
00:16Academy in Tiruba, and now Harvard.
00:19As such, it has been a busy period for the former West Indies batsman who addressed the
00:23gathering at the club where it all started.
00:25My sister Agnes had read a newspaper, an advert from the Harvard Coaching Clinic, which was
00:32looking to recruit kids.
00:36It was November 1975.
00:40I was six years old, and the clinic was starting in January, the start of the dry season.
00:48Agnes told Dad that he should get me there.
00:51He agreed.
00:53I was learning to play a lot of good cricket on the streets on undue pitches, but it was
01:00time to move up.
01:01Lara, who's now 55 years of age, feels extremely proud to have passed through Harvard, where
01:06he learned a lot.
01:07For him, it's an honor to be a member of the club and to have addressed those present.
01:12It was such wonderful times.
01:14I visited all corners of Trinidad and Tobago through this coaching clinic, Ecacus Point,
01:21Mayaro, Manzanilla.
01:23I remember playing against Renwick Bishop and his brother, and we were under 16, and
01:29those guys looked like if they were pretty much grown men.
01:34Lara has the highest individual test score of 400 not out, and also an unbeaten 501 in
01:39first class cricket, having achieved so much, he wants to give back to Harvard.
01:44To every single member, past and present, thank you.
01:50To the young ones, I'm not sure if there are much young ones here, but there are a
01:54lot of parents here.
01:55I want to say that this is such a wonderful place to start your career, and one thing
02:02I want to promise the Harvard members is that I want to come back.
02:08I want to come back and be a part of this club.
02:10I want to come back and see this club.
02:17I want to come back and see this club prosper.
02:21Lara also presented a copy of the book to Harvard President Brian Lewis.
