00:00Like the rest of Tobago, I am happy to see the police actually making some gains here
00:07in Tobago. It shows that with the kind of refocused leadership of the TTPS in Tobago
00:16that we are slowly but surely seeing a turnaround in this fight that we have been engaging in
00:24over the last two years.
00:26Mr. Agustin said the seizure of the drugs, guns and ammunition goes a long way towards
00:32the restoration of the public's confidence in the police service.
00:37I can see that this sort of activity helps the general Tobago public become even more
00:44confident that the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service can win this battle. So this goes
00:51a long way in restoring confidence among the population here in Tobago.
00:56Minority leader Kelvin Morris, when asked to comment on the drug bust, not only commended
01:01the TTPS leadership but described the matter as timely.
01:06I want to send a message to all Tobagoans to remind each and every one of us that crime
01:12affects each and every one of us equally and it's important that we do our part. It is
01:19important that we work with law enforcement to ensure that we can have these kinds of
01:25results because Tobago being a tourism-based economy, it is very important that we stamp
01:32out any form of criminal activity and therefore I want to continue to encourage all law enforcement
01:40to do the kind of surveillance that is important for these results and to send a message to
01:45the criminal elements to also change from that behavior. That behavior will not be tolerated
01:52in Tobago. So once again to ACP Subiru and Senior Supervisor Eli, I really want to commend
02:00them for their work and we are seeing the fruits of the labor of what they have brought
02:06to the table in Tobago. Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
