A last minute attempt.. to secure bail for Canadian YouTuber Christopher 'Christ Must List' Hughes.. has failed.
And it seems that the police are considering other charges.

00:00 Attorney Christon J. Williams confirmed that at his request, a Justice of the Peace this
00:04 afternoon visited the station in Port of Spain where the Canadian blogger Christopher Hughes
00:09 is being kept.
00:10 However, after a conversation with law enforcement, the JP was reportedly turned away.
00:16 It is expected that Hughes will remain in custody until tomorrow when he is expected
00:21 to appear before a master of the court in Port of Spain.
00:24 However, up to 4pm today, Williams noted that while he was aware of a press release from
00:30 the TTPS, he claimed that no one from the investigative team had contacted him to confirm
00:35 his client's court appearance.
00:37 Despite this, he said that when the matter is called, he believes that justice will take
00:42 its course.
00:44 That being said, Williams has also stated that he has received information recently
00:48 that made him afraid for the life of his client as well as his own.
00:52 He has since stated that he was hoping to discuss the matter with the President of this
00:56 country, Christine Kangaloo, as the information presented included allegations made against
01:01 government officials and law enforcement personnel.
01:05 Hughes, who remains under the care of the state, has been charged under the Sedition
01:10 Act.
01:11 However, police said that they were examining other possible breaches of law that may lead
01:16 to additional charges being laid.
01:20 Police have previously deemed Hughes a flight risk and he will therefore remain in police
01:24 custody until his court appearance.
01:27 Hughes was formally charged on Wednesday by Sergeant Lee of the Special Investigations
01:31 Unit with publishing a statement with a seditious intention.
